Fuck a duck. This is a deformed, demented whopper of a perfume. The list of ingredients on the side of the bottle are enough to make you produce spontaneous sweat, which ironically, is one of it's ingredients. It all seems to be pretty grim and ghastly. What have you bought?! Because it sure isn't a perfume! But then, you spray it. Now, whilst it is a real rough shag, it is not absolutely disgusting. It is apparent that time has been spent on it by the creator. I can smell and understand all of the listed notes, but they are presented in an exciting and interesting way, rather than just trying to be difficult, like a petulant child. Sombre is rebellion, it is fantastique, it is a unicorn fucking a murdered corpse bareback and with no lube. The acerbic assault from vomit and pus, gives a biological boost to the floral tones, whilst champagne gives a fizzy, fun boozy note. The whole profile, when sprayed directly onto skin, smells like a coarse, rough shag between two drunken lovers. But, one of them is a serial killer and they are fucking at their house, where body parts are hidden and are starting to rot. The smell of the house, imprints itself onto the sex, and there you have the smell of Sombre. I have been waiting to smell it for 5+ years, and I am not disappointed in the slightest. Definitely the most bizarre perfume in my collection, and I have a lot of weird shit. 9/10. This is true art. It is not afraid and it doesn't give a fuck. But it loses a point, as I am too scared to wear it.

I'm surprised to find that this is less repulsive than Secretions Magnifiques (a scent I sometimes enjoy privately but I do also sometimes hate). When I opened the parcel containing this decant, I immediately caught a faint vomit smell and was hesitant to even touch the vial. But then I took it out and sprayed it on a card strip (caveat, I haven't put it on my skin). While there are definitely semblences of vomit and shit in the scent, to my nose it's no more than you get from some oud based fragrances. It's essentially a barnyard floral scent with a pungent, fecal, animalic note, but if I hadn't read all the hyperbole I'd just accept this was an expensive, bold oud perfume. Maybe my opinion will change if I wear it but for now, on card, I'm finding it quite interesting. -------- Now I'm wearing it on one wrist... The opening truly is disturbing, and I get quite a similar vibe to Secretions Magnifiques in fact, but it changes very quickly, and I'm impressed that I genuinely get the notes listed on the bottle (ok maybe not pus, but the rest yes). It's still not repulsing me, although it did take a few minutes to calm down, and sticking my nose into it isn't giving me joy, it's more academically interesting.

This is by far my favourite perfume, and has been since the day I had the pleasure to smell it. My brother told me about this specific perfume telling me on how its know for smelling like blood, sweat, sex and shit. I was immediately Intrigued. I had small sniff that he spray away from everybody, my mum and I being the only 2 to even dare smell it. My mum hated it and I couldn't get enough. This was years ago now and still have a tiny bit out of my sample left. I will agree it's not for everybody. I also wouldn't recommend using a tonne especially, if your trying to cover up other smells in an uber. My friend did this by mistake and left her uber gagging😆😆😆😆 sadly she used most of my sample for this... the sample was a gift from my brother as I loved it so much. A very meaningful gift to me.

This smell fantastic in the way that perfumers want to show. it's smell like vermit after your go around at night and drink a ton of wine. so Dirty so Disgusting like it's should be. 1 spray can fill the room with this smell and if you sniff it's into you skin it's will stuck in there for whole day whole night. not for newbie . not for someone who spend your life with best seller perfume or designer brand. They can't understand how fantastic of this perfume for sure. so stay away if you are that kind of person. This is real art in the bottle.

  • em inglês

I just want to say - I love it for uniqueness, creating and realistic. Unfortunately, I did not find anything close to Secretions Magnifiques (a lot of musk, metal and blood notes). This perfume definitely for kinky mood. It opens like warm dirty breath with some vomit (not sour/acid) but after it smells a couple of days used woman underwear with pee.

Much more conceptually grounded than I was expecting. I thought this was just going to be a hodgepodge of unpleasant smells, but instead it feels like Prin actually spent time on this. Thank goodness. I absolutely get why people might be grossed out by Sombre, but I don't find it super shocking if you regard it without the (effective) marketing. It's really nothing ridiculous, but it also isn't really what you'd call a "wearable" perfume. It's clever, though, for what it is, and it definitely reflects the subject matter, but it's also surprisingly one-note to my nose, and that one note is a really, really, really indolic jasmine. Normally in an indolic jasmine perfume, it seems like the other notes tend to dial down the "skank" a bit-- to keep it in check, as it were-- but here all the supporting characters do the opposite. They're not good friends who call Jasmine a cab when she's had enough. These friends keep buying her shots and giving her key bumps until she veers squarely into fecal territory. So this Jasmine basically ends up turning into the dirtiest floral ever, as you might imagine. This is probably more challenging than Secretions Magnifique and Inexcusable Evil, so if you've had negative experiences with those, you can maybe... probably skip this one. But if you're accustomed to barnyardy oud notes, abstract fragrance concepts, filth in general, this probably won't be particularly gag-inducing. Definitely challenging, but it won't singe your eyebrows off or anything. In terms of gross factor, I think Prin outdoes this with Nekro Dellamorte. Recommended to those for whom "filth" carries positive connotations. You know who you are.

  • em inglês

The immediately suffocating scent of shit. Paint peeling off the walls, water-stained timber and mould spores suffuse the air. Mattresses caked in bodily secretions and the padding of chairs imbued with cigarette smoke, each piece of furniture having years to inhale and absorb every plume. In each choking breath you taste the acidity of stomach bile, the corrosive stinging of vomit, its yellowy sour treacle. You can distinctly isolate olfactory vestiges of flowerbeds, long reclaimed by the rotting foundations of this roadside motel, again reclaimed by the malodorous languor of binge drinking. Guests past linger, call girls and escorts, amphetamines and cocaine. The punishing smell of misaligned plumbing, the sweat of employees who scrub the carpet. Saliva dripping into soaked pillows from the maw of another wayward drunk who stumbles from place to place. A general feeling of sleaze and nausea sets in.

  • em inglês

Animalic, vomit, mold and piss. This is a truly unique fragrance that is not for your typical collector. It is dark and brooding, dank and poisonous. The vomit/bile accord is very strong and somewhat overrides everything, but I do smell the white flowers stewing beneath. It has a kind of 'ass' note or death note. Either way it truly smells repulsive, which is, I believe, the idea. And yet its drydown reminds of some of the more animalic fragrances from Zoologist. It actually drys down to something far more acceptable. But that vomit accord, man. That's something that stays with you...

  • em inglês

Honestly, it’s not awful. Kinda smells like kissing a hot girl at a party who thirty minutes ago was vomiting up pink gin spritz. Flowery on top and a bit rank underneath, but not a completely unpleasant experience. To be fair I haven’t worn this on the skin, so that might bring out the vomit notes more distinctly.

  • em inglês

Realisticically vomitty and unapologetically pungently animalic, with sweet and balsamic facets. Obviously never wear it, out of consideration for others. If you enjoy body odor you might like this.

[👁️🟥🟥XXX👁️🔞👁️👁️X 2§<]021]]] Oh g*d, this perfume is EVIL. Imagine a full blown movie experience with a chronological beginning and end bottled into one spray per full-screening view! It's rare to come across the grailed idea of Willy Wonka's Five Course Dinner done so perfectly in any form of non-film, aural art. But from the sounds of it, I can't wait to pay full admission to this one. My background for why I would be interested in something deliberately "dreadful": As a previous film scholar / student, I read about "video nasties" as a teen and couldn't fathom why anyone would enjoy such things. But I couldn't stop reading such grisly words either. Long story short, the cyberpunk / body horror / psychological horror genre is now a huge inspiration to my artwork-- I've just inverted the genre tropes with my love for self-help stories and my Eastern heritage's "zen" to make it romantic, humanist and dreamy: but with psych horror's sense of dread and anxiety still attached to keep people invested through abnormally sun-washed open, empty spaces, wild compositional shifts, and mortal loneliness! That aside(...) Try your luck with Sombre if you dare! This may truly be the only equivalent to the "extreme cinema" of fragrance! An NC-17 exclusive, that no one dare to even think, suitable only for those tired of art changing the world for humanity's sake, and want to witness the power of art for power's sake. Or... like the hype that revolves around controversial statement pieces... make you roll your eyes in sarcastic boredom! Prin was already super talented with hyper evocative, temple-worthy works of South East cultural fragrant art so perhaps it would be easy to scrub this from your wrists... but these precious memories might last forever. (Also half-jokingly here... its perhaps, less painful than smelling... pepper spray. Use Sombre to induce a very mild psychosis on yourself and friends and family-- for fun(?)! Or scare wannabe murderers and horror monsters in street away from you with Sombre.) PAIR IT WITH [R18, ADULTS ONLY!] : Tears of Eros by Paul Schütze. Hentai by UFO Parfums. (At that point, you're less Fragrantican, more Cenobite)

So I think it's a brilliantly written review below by rbalkris and I echo the sentiments not being a fan of gimmicky for the sake of it stuff. However, I can tell it's said with affection and I have such a soft spot for Prin that I kinda allow him this indulgence and experimentation, even though it's silly and a very hamfisted attempt and being daring or humorous...or whatever it was he was trying to capture? Interesting also to note that the man himself can't stand the smell of it and when he appeared on Wafts from the loft's Youtube video he almost ran away when they were spraying it. In truth this IS the instantly nightmarish and ghoulishly obvious, obscene fragrance that people often said secretion magnifique was, which should highlight a real appreciation for what ELDO and Antoine Lie were doing with that fragrance. Sombre is full splatter gore and torture porn as apposed to Secretions creeping sense of dread. Secretions was fantastic because it opens and you think 'what's all the fuss about this is actually quite interesting and not that bad to be honest' but then it makes you those words, never quite allowing the queasiness to subside and leaving you in a kind of uncertain limbo, perpetually wondering and trying to take away the positives, before a wave of fish or dried spunk would make you recoil. I mean the opening of Sombre is disgusting, and makes no such ELDO pretence. It smells like all the things he mentions, but is reminiscent to me of real civet which has a cheesy smell, and as potent as real civet is, it has a certain sick pleasure and complex nature to it and obviously works in context at low levels with florals for example. Sombre is deliberately paired with other horrors and smells like sick, and the slight smearing of shit that often smells worse than the big pile of shit for some strange reason? So I'm thinking to myself...this has to have some redeeming quality or recognisable note or something that makes it vaguely pleasurable, or you might as well go to a joke shop and smear yourself in stink bombs or even better go on a massive bender then, eat loads of 3 day old shrimp cocktails and ride a roller coaster, puking and defecating on yourself and you'll achieve the same effect. And bless Prin, because it does. A little like Secretions it has some distant redemption in the form of a lightly veiled jasmine and more sweet base notes which soothe after the turbulent start. You can still smell a mild indolic background as if the puke, putrid cheese and rotting meat has been cleared up, just not very well. This is an almost night and day change which gradually comes on and before you know it you might even be enjoying this perfume. Well not 'enjoying' but compared to the start you'd welcome pretty much anything else at that point. It's horrible, but even if you just wear it on Halloween or use it as a party piece like those jellybean Russian roulette games it might have some merit. The good thing about is that people don't make stuff like this very often and there's not exactly an epidemic of people 'ruining' perfumery with gross-out fair like this. Also, I'd say Prin's positive contributions out weight dalliances like Sombre, so I'm cutting him some slack. A final point to make is that...I can't really identify what materials he has used to create some of these awful smells and that in itself is interesting.

Concerning the reviews I've read about this they are all negative which really very clearly shows that this is definately NOT some thing that any one should be buying or maybe should even take the risk to even want to try smelling it as it will end up not being a pleasant experience now I love perfumes and I've got a few but even I know I will be not buying this or trying it I 'll be keeping this permanently away from me and I'd advise any one else to do the same making perfume is a rl art and those who know how to seriously make perfume can make some lovely smelling perfumes but any one can go on a perfume course for a few weeks and then put some ingredients together in a bottle and put a label on it and then you think you've made it in life no to perfumes probably take yrs to really know what their doing and they know that the finished perfume they do well in other words it will sell people will want to buy it and buy it again because it smells so good but what really matters is will any one really appreciate what this person has done with this fragrance sombre will it sell first of all will people really want to buy it and would they come back to buy it again my answer to that is I seriously dought it when people buy a perfume it's to have a pleasant experience some thing that they will appreciate and it will make them smell good but this sombre is so repulsive to yr nose and yr body it's clearly not some thing people should be smelling I'm very clearly going to be staying away from this and would advise any one else to do the same

Striking stuff. As in, it deserves to be stricken from the face of the earth. Yeah, I know, it's a test of the perfumer's art and it's very deliberately horrible - been through this game before with Secretions Magnifiques, so I do understand the idea of playing with the putrid and romancing the rancid. Maybe nobody's even meant to enjoy it at all. I'm no stranger to edgy experimentation or stinky stanks; maybe I got a little bit too smug about my open-mindedness. I wear Rania J Oud Assam with pride, even though I can't deny the first hour is 95% cowpat; and fully enjoy some other scents which REEK of tar, mushrooms, mould, peat, turpentine and solvents that many other people find repellent. But with this, Strangers found my absolute boundary, my personal limit for olfactory disgust ... then trampled right over it and charged at speed into the territory of pure sensory horror. The top and the start have a stench so incredibly intensely, realistically and all-round vilely like human vomit that I physically retched - just from sniffing the cap. That NEVER happens, not even with my loathed betes noires like Serge Noire or Black Afgano. I just couldn't summon the courage to go any further. Maybe there really is some layer of hidden beauty underneath, or it morphs on skin into something bearable - but who could endure the journey to get there? One for the hardcore masochists only. It's a GG Allin performance in a jar. Just horrific - yes, even more than it means to be.

I honestly don't know how some one who says they make perfume could make such a disgusting awful smelling well I wouldn't know what to call it because i definately wouldnt call it a perfume there are perfumes and then theirs this you can put nice floral notes in it which i feel it wont do much to help it at all and put it in a bottle put a label on it but it will still be smelling disgustingly awful to where there isn't any thing pleasant or nice you can even say about it put it bluntly as far as im concerned it should never of got off the production line and no professional perfumer would ever think of wanting to make some thing that's just so disgusting perfumes make people smile bring people joy make you feel good but this well all I can say is there's nothing to like about it really I wouldn't recommend any one try it it should come with a government health warning and I'd say because it smells that bad from the reviews I've seen I definately wouldnt buy it and I would never want to try it out either all I can say is I believe there are some boundary lines that should not be crossed in perfumery and this guy has gone and done that in a big way and the end results are this called sombre that is nothing short of a disaster

  • em inglês

I had to scrub it off after just under half an hour. This one is truly repulsive. It smells like you've gotten way too drunk on cheap fizz, before then vomitting violently out of both ends in the most disgusting service station toilet that you could run to fast enough. A toilet, I might add, that reeks to high heaven of many days of piss, uncleaned toilets festering in a small stuffy, airless hot cubicle, which they have attempted to cover up with some sort of harsh floral scented bathroom deodoriser. Honestly, a real ride... but not one I want to take again in a hurry.

  • em inglês

From an artistic standpoint - this is a really interesting and complex fragrance. From a consumer - what the fuck???!?!?!? The mixture of vomit, three day old damp gym shirt thats been sitting in the hamper but its scrunched up so it cant properly dry, and driving past a farm is the only way I can describe what I just smelled. Its genuinely a disgusting fragrance.

  • em inglês

Poo. But then the dry down goes more towards the florals, and lands pretty squarely with floral poo. I dislike it but I don't hate it somehow. I don't think it's completely repulsive. It's disgusting on the initial spray but it's definitely interesting and I'm glad to have a tester

  • em inglês

Unfortunately a real misfire for this talented perfumer who thinks the way to get noticed (and he will for all the wrong reasons) is to shock and repulse. So he sets out to create something more vile than Secretions Magnifiques wanting to do a perfume equivalent of John Waters or Gaspar Noe. Unfortunately, the end result is a mere curiosity piece that will get a lot of notices and lot of Youtube reviewers trying to outdo each other with their shock and disgust reactions. The perfume if you can call it that is truly revolting. One whiff of it is enough to give you a complete gag reflex and probably induce a sick nauseating feeling. But to what end does this serve? I believe perfume is about positivity, evocation and nostalgia. This does not accomplish any of these functions. It is a mere shock prop intended to garner attention because it is so grotesquely vile. Okay Prin Lomros, you get credit for your artistic expression however disgusting it is, but if you thought you will become ELDO after this gimmick, you may be dead wrong. Very unfortunate!

  • em inglês

The opening of this wasn't bad. It smells like fresh dirt, however, the dry down is a different story. There is no other way to describe this other than it smelling like decomposition of a corpse. I do get the vomit note, and every stale bodily fluid after a body has gone through the bloating stages and leaves behind a symphony of old poop, bile and blood. I stupidly put a sample of this on my body. I could not bear 20 minutes, immediately took a shower, then doused myself in Feve Gourmande by Guerlain. Never again.

A serial killer sees a mysterious courtesan and falls madly in love with her. He takes her to an abandoned house haunted by ghosts and demons. There they share a few glasses of exquisite Champagne and ends up having wild, passionate sex. The night fills with the beautiful fragrance of her sensual, floral perfume, the sparkling Champagne, the sweaty, intimate, secret smells of love making and all the scary, vile vapours of the house, it's evil inhabitans and the serial killers true self and past deeds. I've tried this fragrance on both paper and on my skin. It's way worse on paper. On my skin it opens a bit acidic and sharp (the vomit accord paired with the Champage), but calms down within seconds. Sensual, powdery floral notes come out, I detect a soft animalic undertone and a hint of halitosis. A bit strange, but not too unpleasant. But on paper. OMG! The opening is insanely sharp, shrill and acidic. The Champagne note is beautiful, clean, sparkling, refreshing - but the vomit is also there and gives the Champagne a sickening undertone that's really vile. The vomit smell makes me think of the puking scene from the Exorcist. It's the smell of demonic possession, of the battle between light and darkness, good and evil. The Champagne still brings a certain light and beauty to this phase of the fragrance. And I notice that if I focus solely on the Champagne, that vomit smell is easier to take, it almost disappears, and I can believe that the scent is bearable for a moment, until the vomit takes hold again and makes me slightly queasy. When the Champagne fades, the floral notes rise and takes over being the beautiful part of the scent. The vomit is still there, and paired with the sweat accord, the nocturnal animal accord, the puss and the mud it creates a plethora of vile smells. I get strong wafts of unwashed, sweaty, male feet - dirty, overfilled festival toilets - sweaty ass crack - something dense, animalic and poopy. It's a sick, evil shit fest of smells. But the floral notes are there. And they are slightly vintage, burlesque and powdery, and so incredibly gorgeous compared to all the other odors. They feel like a light in the dark, a soft haven to seek refuge in. You kind of have to trust the florals and their ability to save you from the stink, or perish. It's your only chance while you're surrounded by the sinister awfulness of Sombre and can see no way out. Sombre is truly a scent of exquisite, ethereal beauty and the most evil, discusting ugliness you can imagine. It's a really interesting, complex and terrible scent, it takes you on a bumpy journey, and the weird part is that it feels like it actually teaches you something while you smell it, like it has a task and a lesson for you. If you're able to shut out most of the unpleasantness, and hold on to the sheer, vulnerable beauty, it will pull you through - and that is true for life as well. Focus on the small particles of light, and they will help you move through the crap and the dark. Sombre is a strange kind of wisdom. It's a wisdom that's not easliy obtained, which makes it even more precious when you finally receive it and feel like you've truly experienced something of value while sniffing this monster. I can't say I like Sombre, but I'm fascinated by it. And I love the journey we've been on together the last few days. I'm also intensly impressed by the perfumer, Prin Lomros. Prin is a brave man. He has sniffed these ingredients for weeks, maybe months, or even longer, while he was working on this fragrance. Now, that's dedication to the vision, to creativity and to his own Artist Self. He has a new fan in me!

When I got my sample of this - I sprayed alittle in the lid and thought it mostly smelt like toenail cheese and wasn't too horrific, I mean - thats not nice, but far from the warning would suggest, so I thought this was just going to be another over hyped gimmicky perfume, so in my ultimate wisdom I went ahead to applied 3 squirts to my skin, I wasn't to worried as none of the other Strangers line that I've tried have lasted more than a few hours on me. And yep, wow! there's that VERY fragrant toenail cheese which I presume is the pus, it's so much stronger on the skin, so much! theres also something alittle pooey backing it up, and vomit. Lots & lots of vomit. The vomit really is the star of the show. I lasted a whopping 5 minutes and then had to try & remove it, maybe I should have given it more of a chance to develop, but each time I caught a whiff - I violently hieved. I managed to get the worst of this off surprisingly easily, but I was left with a slight musty manky dirtyness which survived multiple scrubbings and a being soaked in the bath, 12 hours later - it was still slightly there - so, at that point I'd had enough and used bleach, which seemed to do the trick!! - So I think this would have been much better named 'bog of eternal stench' I don't have to like something to appreciate or enjoy its artistic merit, but I really do have to wonder why this was made?? - Just because you can, doesn't mean you should! It is truly horrendous & I can't imagine anyone wanting to smell like they had been sucking on a hundred dirty toes, then eaten a used nappy and then vomited it over themselves and just didn't wash.

It really smells like a dead man, in a coffin, at the vigil, that moment in the Orthodox Christian religion when the dead person stays in a chapel for 3 days until his funeral! It is usually accompanied by many flowers that emit a lot of indole/ carnations, chrysanthemums, lilac, lily, and and with a lot of wax dripping from the candles burning at the end of the dead! Well, this experiment, as a perfume cannot be called, it is exactly the smell of a deceased person in a coffin, with all the church and indolic environment in the chapel! Truly an experiment and not a complete perfume per se!

  • em inglês

I have tried it. I wanted it to be filthy and naughty but the opening is revolting i don't get poop or sweat just vomit and bile. This lasts a few minutes then it turns more acceptable and i kept sniffing close up finding new things and after a few hours it's almost ok reminded me of ELDO bendelirious because of the champagne but I wouldn't wear it in public. YOU would know its a clever and challenging mix but anyone near you will think you haven't washed your clothes. It's a good idea and sampling is fun with friends. I wonder where all the unsold full bottles go?

WARNING: The notes on Fragrantica are VERY misleading. The following are the official notes: Vomit Accord Mold Accord Nocturnal Animals Accord Pus MUD Sweat Champagne Orris Butter Night Blossom flowers (Jasmine , Tuberose) Rose The following is the note from the brand: "WARNING IN ART OF PERFUMERY, IT SHOULD NOT BE BOUNDARY IN CREATION. THIS IS EXTREME REPULSIVE FRAGRANCE PLEASE OPEN YOUR HEART" I have not tried it yet, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew what they were really looking at.

  • em inglês

People fall victim to marketing, forming strong prejudices before they even smell a fragrance. Imagine dipping a jasmine–tuberose bouquet into sharp, acidic champagne and experiencing its scent, with a faint note of overripe fruit lingering in the background (for those unfamiliar, ‘rotten’ fruit often smells sweet rather than unpleasant). The initial opening can be a little challenging due to its sharp acidity, but after 10–15 minutes, as the fragrance settles, it becomes much more pleasant

  • em inglês

Yep, straight up fresh vomit. Who would want to wear this? Probably nobody - this is intended to get people talking (and oh by the way smell the rest of the line, there are some real gems there!) On the bright side folks we have a fresh new suggestion for all those eye-roll inducing scent me posts on the Facebook frag groups :D Secretions Magnifique was getting a little overused at least in my mind.

OMFG gagworthy, and not the drag-race variety. This is the smell of unwashed, unkempt teenagers (I am a HS teacher -- I KNOW.) and general filth. As others have said, faecal, foetid, turgid and just RANK. And yes, with floral elements lurking below. I don't think I'm gonna try this one again!
