Spring Ambience

Opened up green, fresh, and minty. Very invigorating. Leans quite a bit towards fougere side. Spiciness that followed was not too bad and blended well with the sweet creamy wood scent that accompanied it.

Just the perfect spring ambience!

Fresh and vaguely sweet, but the bamboo/sage note in it gives balance to the sweet and makes it earthy and nutty. Reminds me of pistachios, though that is not listed in the notes so it's more a vibe than an actual scent. I think it's the aldehydes standing out amongst the crowd. It's very reminiscent of its namesake, and as such would be great to wear in spring and even into summer, as it feels cool but fresh. Hanging out in a nice shaded garden, basically.

In my blind test, I found this initially floral and feminine with hints of pear and baby powder in the opening which goes through a bit of a soapy moment before settling down and becoming a bit more relaxed and balanced between its floral and powder. I still get a sense of soft sweet fruit like pear in the background, but it could just be the floral aspect. As it dries down it starts to lose its femininity, and so to a bit of its character, becoming a neutral soapy-leaning powdery fresh laundry thing, which testing blind I'll assume is Jasmine. Looking at the name and notes now, while it does have a “spring ambience” feel, it's not nearly as layered or complex as all these notes suggest. I mostly get the aldehydes, Jasmine, and little bits of geranium, bergamot up top, and maybe some fresh mint. Apparently, everything else is washed away with the first spring rain. Notes like tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and sage are laughingly more than a few seasons off. They're not there. I understand their presence would give an aromatic blossoming, but I don't find this automatic at all. Nor, remotely masculine but pretty generically unisex. It's more of a nice laundry detergent vibe. And, being more of a skin scent, pretty much disappearing after moderate longevity. It lands in the don't like category for me, having lost all of its initial opening springiness. But I'll take a box of dryer sheets.
