Moonlit Reverie

First of all, is that not the most beautiful name? And the name reflects what is inside the bottle, a dreamy evening of white flowers, with tuberose and gardenia being the star to my nose, but there is an earthiness to it from the vetiver, musk, resins and sandalwood but with an animalic sweetness from the honey, ambergris and castoreum. This is a very complex fragrance initially, with the multiple florals and layers almost competing, but gorgeous white florals win initially on my skin but it settles down to more earthiness after a few hours with the florals taking the background. Even with all the white flowers nothing about this feel like “daytime” though. Moonlit Reverie is beautiful outdoors during the day, and while it’s beautiful and floral, this fragrance was meant to be smelled in the night air where the magic really happens. There is something introspective about this scent, I can’t explain it, almost melancholy. Not that it makes me feel sad but it makes me think about things. Meaningful things. Very hard to describe but if a perfume can create a scent that brings about forgiveness, I would describe it that way. It sort of opens your heart and makes you see good in the world. Is that possible? It gives me this beautiful sense of peace within myself and with the world.

Wow! This is stunning, instantly arresting floral explosion, with that nightblooming vibe completely inkeeping with the name. Although it's clearly not orange blossom dominant, I can smell it in the opening clear as a bell. It's always surrounded by a rich gardenia/tuberose which builds and builds on my skin and is just the right side of the inside of banana peels and bubblegum. If this was bubblegum it would be the most exotic, all natural bubblegum from Fortnum & Mason or something? It's COMPLETELY not my scene and still I find it unbelievably beautiful... like it's stunning, it really is. When dried down I get the vibe as if it was the remnants of a honied, floral perfume on a well worn jacket complete with stale cigarette smoke...my kinda gal! and an almost aquatic Ozone, maybe a touch of chlorinated pool, but only a waft of the gases in the air surrounding the fragrant, white floral goddess. So to recap this goddess is a rebellious, rocky, lifeguard, in a leather jacket, smoking tabs, blowing bubbles with expensive gum, drinking a North African Orange Blossom cocktail and eating a banana, while wearing bandit or something? It's a KO. Simply must be tried.

Sultan Pashas offerings intrinsically asks the fragrance enthusiast just how far one is willing to go in this persuit. 5,200 miles, a tussle at my local post office over a package sent from the UK, another quick mail trip to a neighboring state where I currently find myself and late into the night/early morning, a perfect time for Moonlit Reverie. A aldehyde green opening followed by facets of orange blossom, gardenia, tuberose,vetiver, cassis absolute, a whisper of narcissus, musks purr underneath the gorgeous gardenia. SP conjures the best gardenia moments in a fragrance on the planet. Sandalwood, orris, honey start to emerge as the florals begin to fade. Luxe musks gently supports the composition for warmth and to give the florals dimension. Moonlight illuminates our secret desires and dreams...this is a serenade of ghostflowers we only hear deep into the night. Made with the finest materials. Sample reviewed. Excellent.

I am so beyond thrilled with my recent order of Moonlit Reverie and Vetiver Blanc. These two are complete game changers for me. This smells like Vetiver Blanc at night after she’s been out all day having a night cap and reflecting, maybe having a smoke before showering and heading to bed. Damn. What a genius.

This one is good I don't quite love it but it is a solid LIKE. The smell is uniquely sweet and dense, and a white floral composition that I have honestly never smelled. However the smell does remind me of the inside of a container of cod liver oil capsules, Omega-3 Krill oil capsules, or some form of resinous fish oil smell. IT DOES NOT smell gamey or bloody/airy/metallic or oceanic like fish but it smells dry, oily and buttery like fish oils. I believe it is the castoreum, the true ambergris, and the cassis. But it is sweetened heavily by the florals and aldehyde accords making it smell waxy and powdery. Interesting... Very interesting. But on my skin it smells almost too similar to my favorite Pasha so far L'Heure d'Or so I won't need this one. The difference between the two being the L'Heure d'Or has a very present sexy, sweaty and sweet citric civet and musk and Moonlit Reverie is sweetened instead by white flowers and the aldehydes. Nice one! Lasts very well! Projects discreetly due to the lipid like nature of the scent and has good sillage. 8/10

This one is very feminine.floral aromatic attar. This one is a hard pass for me, smells like a foral designer fragrance for woman and dare i say it cheap and nasty. Performance was surprisingly bad on this one not sure if its because its so light and floral but lasted 4 hours on my skin with no sillage.

Now this one is very feminine and no way could a man pull this one off unless he totally does not care for gender classifications. This opens with a heady and very floral Gardenia accord with orange blossom. It's very heady and intoxicating, the Gardenia is very floral and slightly earthy. There is also a Vetiver note in the background. I now know why there are no men's fragrances I know of or have ever tried that has a dominant Gardenia accord. The scent is very beautiful and lush and on a woman she would smell like a princess. But for me though I can appreciate it's beauty I don't want to smell like a princess. It just would not go down well in my neighbourhood. lol

Mostly an aldehyde-white floral scent with some smooth sandalwood in the base. I dunno, I didn't expect this, to tell you the truth. It's very beautiful, no doubt, but it doesn't have the depth and subtlety of some of the others in this line. There is nothing at ALL wrong with this, it's just a little, well, normal. I was hoping there would be something different about this...
