Kyoto

This is a very quiet perfume. As the line relies on Iso E Super, this is the sort of scent that comes and goes (mostly goes as sillage is not great and longevity is low). I do get whiffs of it throughout the day, but fairly faint. Good for a post gym refresher or a short walk outside, but maybe for a day long affair. I do think it could lend itself to layering, though.

Very easy-going, light citrus scent, supported by Iso E Super and not much else. Immediately, it’s almost a skin scent with no projection but I imagine there’s an audience for quiet perfumes.

fresher, more masc/unisex citrus that isnt overly saccharine or sour. blends with the skin and it smells a bit animalic briefly, but then becomes more typical.

Weakest perfume I've had. I felt uniqueness coz of the spicy opening impression. Many won't like the opening smell. It's spicy + citrus + woody glue (like the smell you feel in a carpenter shop -kind of thing. And that's it .. couldn't feel any trails of any kind after 2 hr.

Sniffed this in store without any prior research due to the simple, eye-catching bottle. I know it's not listed, but both partner and I pick out a very strong and clear ginger note. That character is similar to that in Guerlain's Ginger Piccante or A&F's Authentic, but more masculine than the former and with fewer interfering notes than the latter. It shines unapologetically through the opening and mid and makes this quite outstanding at this price point. Performance is extremely poor though. Most fragrances (including Zaras!) just a single spray to chest suffices for a day, but three of this had projection shorter than my arm's reach. Under three hours you reach the drydown, which goes a totally different direction from the unique opening, with loud ambrox (nope, not Iso E) similar to JHaG's Not a Perfume or countless cheap Sauvage clones. Highly disappointing from a sparkling start.

Like putting fruit slices in water, this is really weak. Very typical fresh scent and it kinda sucks. Doesn't smell bad though, it's just a little personal nose stimulation for an hour or two, because nobody else is gonna smell it.

I tested it without knowing it’s for men. In my opinion, it’s feminine. It’s fresh, soft and carefree. No wonder they put it in the women’s section of the store. It’s a nice scent for summer, but nothing groundbreaking.

I was instantly reminded of cartier declaration and envol, they both have trademark zestiness in the opening, it's something between those two, although much more watered down.
