Maysoon

This opens with this beautiful sweet dewy lush rose. It smells like some kind of turkish rose oil. It then develops into a sweet (slightly tropical?) I thought pineapple but can see it’s a hint of coconut with citrus. This doesn’t project quite as much as their other fragrances but is still prominent. This a lovely feminine offering I can imagine on a young lady (though of course fragrance isn’t ageist). But it seems quite youthful and pretty.

roses! roses everywhere!! I was expecting some clear coconut there because I like it so much but it's reeeeally light.it's like a deep rose sweet smell...It's a warm fragance and I must say it's a monster. I mean it. Just two drops is enough for the whole day and the scent last to the day after. I get compliments when I wear it but then again handle it with care ;)

The top note of Maysoon is bergamot, an aggressive, industrial strength bergamot that doesn't remind you of Captain Picard's famous Earl Grey tea, but of a public restroom freshly doused with citrus air freshener. That sounds bad I know, but hear me out. As soon as that first flash of what I think smells more like lime than bergamot disappears (Captain Picard never does show up with a cup of Earl Grey), what is left is a lovely fruity-floral, woodsy, almost chypre-like fragrance. The citrus becomes bright and juicy, smelling very close to live fruit, the ylang-ylang unfolds offering its dewy sweetness, and anonymous woods hide under lush green foliage. Coconut is listed in the base notes but not even one ever falls on my head, instead I get wisps of musk and something oud-like in the drydown. There's a hide-and-seek vibe with this perfume as lots of other notes pop up, (roses? sandalwood? cypress? lemonade?) and are gone as soon as I try to catch them. Bottom line: this is a lovely, multi-faceted fragrance with potentially year round appeal. It's lush and romantic enough for evening but the citrus is bright and sunny enough for daytime. The sillage and staying power are both squarely in the moderate range so I'd say you could safely wear it to work and not choke out your cubicle neighbor. These oils from Swiss-Arabian Perfumes are amazing and amazingly CHEAP! How do they do it?
