Sehr Al Sheila

I have both Santal Royal and Calligraphy Rose, but neither of them are "identical" to this one. Santal Royal is less sweet, smoother and drier. The fragrance also has prominent sandalwood notes besides the oud. I can definitely see the similarity, but the oud in Sehr Al Sheila is strong and the oud itself, which is more medicinal, is not exactly the same to the one in Santal Royal. Sehr Al Sheila is a bit sweeter than Santal Royal because of the amber and vanilla (and maybe patchoulli), and the specific sweetness is quite similar to the one Calligraphy Rose has. However, Calligraphy Rose has stronger wood notes and the woodsy aspects of the fragrance isn’t similar. Sehr Al Sheila has a lot of sweetness, and the sweetness can be a bit sugary, thicker and denser than the other ones I mentioned. If you have dry skin like myself, however, it can be more bitter than Santal Royal. The Rose in Sehr Al Sheila is also more wet than both of these while Calligraphy Rose could project much more of sweetness depending on the weather. In my opinion these three deserve to be treated as three distinctively beautiful fragrances. It’s in short the certain aspects of Santal Royal and the sweetness of Calligraphy Rose combined. Not exactly the same to my nose, especially the drydown. If you’re looking for the exact dupe of either those two you might be a bit disappointed. BUT. If you’re looking for “something similar” to these, especially Santal Royal, I think you can even blind-buy Sehr Al Sheila. Wouldn't be way off. The projection and longevity are just as good as the other two.

Spicy & Jammy OUD-ROSE-PATCHOULI Perfection. Opens with a warm-spicy floral burst that deepens into a rose-oud heart with powdery, velvety, honeyed, near-plum, warm-spicy, soapy & thick near-bubblegum facets, all resting on a patchouli-oud base with earthy, vanillic & resinous touches. This isn't a sticky sweet oud-rose, and for me, this type of spicy-oud-rose scent took some getting used to, but once I was, there was no going back - it's a paradigm shifter. Well above average performance. Contrast to Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie: These are different, but there are similarities with a MiddleEastern leaning rose. Sehr Al Sheila is more spice forward. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to L'Extase Rose Absolue Nina Ricci: These are different, but again similarities with a MiddleEastern leaning rose. LERA is more amber forward, and more similar to Oud Satin Mood Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to Portrait of a Lady Frederic Malle: These are different, but again similarities with a MiddleEastern leaning rose. Portrait of a Lady is more fruit & amber forward. Roughly equivalent performance. Overall: Stunningly beautiful spicy-woody rose scent with well above average performance. This is the perfect scent to wear while shifting your point of view. It's a love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

I'd say maybe 70% similarity but that is more due to the fact that they both reside within the oriental rose category, and having similarities in terms of notes. Not smelled Jo Malone Rose oud for a while now but I remember I was unimpressed by it at the time. >>The good news: this is a solid fragrance and those who enjoy oriental rose fragrances will not be disappointed. Mind you, Swiss Arabian is somewhat tailored to European tastes, meaning that the oud is quite tame, and the same goes for the patchouli. A bit of fruity upbeat, very slight powderiness (iris?). Now this is a middle-weight/mid-level complexity frag. Sheila is very pleasant and as I see it would not bother people around too much (unless they disliked roses entirely). Quite agreeable and chic. Can be worn during the day I think. To me, Rose d'Arabie is Monica Bellucci in the movie 'Malena', red-head in a slick black-dress, hot and cold at the same time, approachable and distant. Rose d' Arabie is so dense and complicated, defo not a crowd-pleaser (and easily offensive imho), better for occasions. So Sheila could be the younger sister in her 20s who's more on the chic side but does not mean to slay. Hope this makes sense :)

Handstand down, my all time favorite oud+rose combination fragrance. This is SO luxurious, I can't get enough of it. I smell the rose, oud and jam...just wow ... this has skyrocketed to my favorite perfumes that I own. And this was a blind buy. I also really love Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, *but* Sehr Al Sheila comes out on top for me. No other oud perfumes compare to this, IMO. They always end up smelling too pungent and just flat out overbearing. Tom Ford who? Kayali who? Swiss Arabian nailed it with this one. And this packaging!? If the Kardashians make headline news, this perfume alone should be on every magazine, wiping the floor with them. The box it comes it, as well as the bottle. And the scent of course..All get 5 stars from me. This has to be one of the fanciest, most beautiful perfume bottles I've ever seen. The color combination (black and turquoise, with gold). Even the cap design alone is exquisite. This is top shelf LUXURY. Decadent, expensive (while not being expensive!), feels like royalty. I will always have a bottle of this in my collection.

Edit edit: I just got Shaghaf oud Aswad and Areej Al Sheila. These 2 and Sehr Al Sheila combined will make potrait of a lady. Edit: just got a decant of potrait of a lady and this smells so incredibly similar on the dry down. The difference is that potrait of a lady is a little sweeter, rosier, a little soapier. Sehr Al Sheila starts with loud rose and spices and on the dry down smells similar potrait of a lady. I do prefer sehr Al Sheila though. I love the jammy rose. Smells nothing like shaghaf oud. At all! It's a super jammy rose with spices. It's quite linear. You can smell the rose and spices all the way throughout. If you love roses, you will love this. The rose is bright but deep. My son accidentally sprayed this on himself thinking it was the perfume I told him to try. Half a day later I asked him why he sprayed it on himself again, he said he didn't. It was from the morning. It smelled like he just sprayed it. On me, I think I go nose blind. But yes it lasts all day.

Sehr al Sheila by Swiss Arabian This fragrance is rosey, jammy, juicy, oud, succulent, and up-beat deliciousness in a bottle (and I get all of this personality from a sample-sized vial) - This oriental fragrance is a compliment getter and a conversation starter. I wore it recently and received three compliments in the first hour. It peeks people's interest as it definently fills the room with notable confidence. People will want to know exactly what it is that you are wearing because it rings familiar, yet mysterious at the same time! I would say this fragerance can be marketed as unisex but leans just slightly more feminine! I purchased the Swiss Arabian set of 40 sample fragrances and found many of them to be full-bottle worthy. Sehr Al Sheila is bae 🥰 This is a dark, juicy, jammy, wet, cave-like Oud & Rose situation!! It has a sweet, rosy and gothic type of vibe (if there ever was such a mixture). There is an airy element to it so the scent will radiate all around you. The oriental notion offers a familiar scent, yet it is mysterious at the same time. The smell is gigantic, enormous, beast mode in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE. If you are feeling shy, or do not want to be bothered with people - DO NOT wear this! You will be noticed (yes). You will get conversations (yes). You will get questions (yes). You will get COMPLIMENTS (((YES))). If you over-spray this it is borderline over-whelming, so wear it with caution.... I absolutely love this perfume!! If it's your first time smelling oud, you should try this one, with Shagaf Oud. But this one has a rose scent. The rose it's not very prominent to me, it's more like an undertone if you know what I mean. When I first sprayed this, it reminded me of rose water and the smell of henna. For those who has a Middle Eastern/Arabic/Indian background, you will be very familiar with this scent. And the oud doesn't give a headache. It's a little bit sweet, but overall the smell is very good and quite nostalgic for me. The bottle and the packaging that comes in are GORGEOUS! It's very appropriate for the cold weather. Also, with only 2-3 sprays you are good to go, don't apply too much of this. I would rate this perfume 8,5/10.

I blind bought this for my birthday after seeing the beautiful bottle & I have no regrets. The opening reminds me of dousing my hands and hair with rosewater in the summer to stay cool, this dense note of pure rosewater is calming. The iris and patchouli give roundness to the prominent rose. The oud and sandalwood for me are in the dry down. I am happy about how this fragrance evolved on my skin. I would wear this with a black dress and elegant shoes. I wouldn't do it justice with business casual *1 year later, I'm almost out. It has so much beautiful staying power, i sprayed it in my room & office for comfort & it would last into the next day. I guess it will be a yearly birthday gift.

This is one of my favorite fragrances in my collection. Yes, out of all my expensive niche, designer, dupe, and middle eastern fragrances. It is a wonderful blend. This is a rose-oud-patchouli scent. It’s a dark, mystical, mysterious smelling fragrance that garners compliments & boosts confidence. It’s perfect for a night out (most of the year) As much as I love oud, mosses, woods, and patchouli, I do not wear fragrances with these notes in the heat/humidity... but do you :) 10/10 performance and DNA. Wearability- I’d say a 6/10 because this is a scent that needs to worn on a night on the town & dressed up. IMO.

Can't believe some find this one weak. It's a beast, even more than the well known Shaghaf Oud. After a week u can still smell it. And i say this as a long time wearing Oud Bouquet as a signature scent. Even longer lasting than Red Tobacco. Fantastic scent, yet i would recommend this for more mature person. Men can pull this out very well, even if it is targeted for women. 10/10 I have Rose D'Arabie and Velvet rose and oud, i would argue that Rose D'Arabie is a combination of Sehr Al Sheila and Velvet Rose and Oud, but leaning more towards SHEILA.

Sehr al Sheila is such a beautiful fragrance. Such a compliment getter. I initially got this one as a sample but ran through it quickly. I do overspray this one, usually under clothes and in my hair. Aromatherapy at it's finest. It's clean without going soapy, just a great feminine fragrance that never smells cheap. Fantastic value! I will definitely repurchase once I run through this bottle!

This is a fine, strong and deep oriental rose and pure wooden oud. Durability easily 12 hours. As @Kay the perfyme addict indeed said, so even though the scent is so strong, perhaps the strongest things that I have smelled, it still does not have a headache-inducing for me. the scent is strong but easy to breathe. Beautiful. Just love it.

Nose Note #946 I absolutely love heavy rose+patchouli DNAs. This reminds me of stuff like Moonlight Patchouli Van Cleef & Arpels, Dior Gris, Tom Ford Noir de Noir, like a mix of those, but slightly more middle eastern. Love it. I'm a rose note lover, so that's a hit. Unisex. Very strong. Great sillage. 9/10, hits a sweet spot

Spicy jammy rose, a little bit sweet, but not too much. Oudy. And yes, as many people mentioned before, a huge compliment getter. Amazing value for money, beautifully presented too. It does remind of Jo Malone Velver Rose and Oud, but is somehow better in my opinion. Strong projection, good longevity.

Beautiful, well blended spiced rose - oud scent! I actually prefer this over Shaghaf Oud, which I enjoy as well. This one isn’t as sweet, making it more mature and versatile. My third Swiss Arabian scent and I think this might be my favorite.

Not kidding this is the first perfume in my 160+ collection that I got complemented from a stranger! Dark rose + oud and has similar vibes to other rose note based perfumes like Oud Blanc Ted Lapidus and Royal Oud Intense Korloff Paris.

The best rose/oud combo I’ve come across and reasonably priced, with a beautiful presentation. Swiss Arabian has some hidden gems! Excellent longevity, gorgeous “wet” rose scent.

Reminds me a bit of Kayali Elixir — if Kayali Elixir got oud’d and got loud. Rose-soapy, sharp, very strong and not too sweet. Bomb packaging. I love it.

UPDATE: I just got a bottle of Rose d'Arabie, and sprayed it onto one arm, and Sheila Al sheik on the other. Just a week ago Sheila was screetchy, but it seems it has very suddenly changed. Rose d'Arabie is very smooth, slightly woody and gentle right away when it's applied. Sheila has now become the same way - instead of sharp oud that I used to get, I get the smooth rose and woody patchouli almost instantly. So, this just had to macerate - now these two are at least 95% identical. Rose d'Arabie has a very subtle freshness behind the main notes - almost like being outside. BUT, Rose d'Arabie also has a slight... bready, or mushroom-like smell, which Sheila doesn't have. The differences are very subtle though. Later on, Rose d'Arabie becomes a little more woody - maybe even predominantly woody, while Shila doesn't have all of these woody basenotes and remains more linearly rosy, which makes them about 90% similar. I think Rose d'Arabies patchouli plays slightly differently than in Sheila - I don't get the slight chocolate drydown Rose d'Arabie has. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This reminds me of Rose d'Arabie, but it's not a dupe. The quality is definitely different. I need a new bottle of Rose d'Arabie to compare to though, but I remember it was an instant love for me, but this one isn't - I keep trying it, hoping to love it, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe it will macerate and become better.

The opening is synthetic, fresh, jammy, and a touch spicy. A couple moments later the synthetic note dissipates and it dries down almost identically to JM's Velvet Rose & Oud. The only difference is that the rose is a bit brighter and more amplified- actually I've never worn Armani's Rose D'Arabie but from what I smelled in the store to me it smelled the same (not sure about the difference in drydown). Excellent projection and sillage; longevity could be a bit better but it's there for a few hours - better if you spray on clothes as well as skin. If I want to wear this all day, I refresh once after lunch. This is an excellent option for a token rose & oud fragrance - everyone needs one. Yes, there are more refined versions (MFK's Oud Satin Mood for example). But, the concoction of rose & oud is historically a Middle Eastern creation, and I love having this perfume in my collection. It is vibrant, confident, feminine.

This is a 90% dupe of Santal Royal! With the 10% difference being the rose is slightly stronger in Sehr...which I actually prefer. The sillage is just as strong as SR (heavy) without being chemical, and longevity is 24 hours on my skin, YES on my skin this lasts over 24 hours. I know this because the next morning i sprayed on a different fragrance, by dinner time the other perfume has evaporated but Sehr is still going strong. The quality here is AMAZING, I can smell the lovely spices and oud but they are very well blended and go together so beautifully. If you over-spray it fills the room but it never becomes synthetic, which is my favorite kind of frag! I regret buying Santal Royal when Sehr is literally half the price and just as good. Get a sample of this, you will be in oud heaven!

savory floral that reminds me a bit of the oil perfumery dupe of noir de noir i have. sehr al sheila is powdery and woody and rosy and heavy. it is very mature smelling and i can see it working in different contexts. i can see myself developing a craving for this. took shower before full dry down. while well blended, the synthetic woods and ambroxan? are unfortunately long lived.

This complex frag that gives and gives. The dry down reveals mature rose and the oud doesn't project strongly but rather mellows out nicely with time. I'd dare to wear this to the office, date night, cool fall days apple picking, etc. It's certainly is a frag for someone who want to set themselves apart and make statement

Super jammy and loud rose note which is actually very nice! The patchouli and oud round out this scent quite nicely making it very smooth... I’d argue that it’s a pretty safe blind buy. I can appreciate this scent. Leans elegant and almost mature, more of a night and/or special occasions scent. Not FBW for me though.

I sprayed this on one arm and Kayali Rose Oud on the other. They’re nearly identical but the initial dry down reminds me of cigarette ash before it turns into a sweeter rose. This also has better longevity than Kayali Rose Oud.

A very prominent Rose, oud and powder fragrance...I'm not a generally a fan of Rose dominated fragrances so this is not for me, beautiful fragrance though...

This is an Arabian rose/oud combo that’s just been done so many times before. If you’re new to Middle Eastern fragrances then you’ll enjoy the affordable but unique strength of character this has. It’s doesn’t start like Rose D’Arabe but it does slightly morph into something remotely similar over time but keeps a sour/citric high note throughout and just doesn’t have the same magic at all. I don’t like this sharp metallic/acidic high note and feel this would give me a headache if worn for any length of time. The rose here is so jammy and fruity-tart, I feel it could corrode the enamel on my teeth if it were actually edible. A loud, acidic rose without smoothness nor finesse that could lead to headaches. (It’s so powerful, it stays after you wash it off.)

I’d say 50% rose d arabie has that oud that smells like burps like oud mood it’s not a smooth as Armani on paper it’s ok but on the skin the rose dies down and your left with what I’d describe as a vanilla oud if your looking for a rose d arabie scent save your money and buy the real thing you won’t be disappointed

A heavy, strong, spicy rose. If you like Portrait of a Lady I think you would love this fragrance.

Wow, this is almost the same as gold aoud from Mancera! (I have the tester and recognised it immediately!) This one is sharper on the start. That’s a bit nauseating at the beginning. I read some reviews about this, and how the oud is in this fragrance. It’s pretty funny. People say; ‘don’t like oud but in this fragrance you don’t smell the oud very much’ or ‘the oud is soft’. First thing you smell; Oud!!! Than the rose. In my opinion oud is the king here. Barnyard oud. I had to get used to oud and it cost me some time to get to the point that I actually can appreciate it (and not even all oud scents, only the oud scents where oud is not the king) I still don’t know I I will be wearing this scent as the oud is very noticeable. Yes it is pleasant for sure, but I don’t know for which occasions this is suitable. I have a lot other fragrances for special occasions which will win from this one. Rating: 7,5/10 Upd; I gave it a chance and I don’t like it. Does not agree with my skin and smells very sharp. 4.0/10

This one is a bomb, very strong synthetic rose is very overpowering, I don’t get anything else other than that sweet nasty rose , it lasts hours and I washed it off and could smell it still. It projects long but it’s just not my cup of tea and am sad to say, I don’t smell any of the iris or spices listed , not even a hint of Patchouli, it’s all that rose, makes my stomach hurt. Am going to try to see if I can find some to layer with to reduce the rose. Otherwise is going on the nono pile

Smells cheap and unbalanced. There are so many rose oud fragrances out there, and nearly all of them are better than this one.

About 3 years ago, one of the Amazon Sellers sent me a giant shipment of Swiss Arabian samples, most of them 5ml sprays. I never asked for them, they kinda just arrived on my door six months after I bought Swiss Arabian oil. Out of all of them Sehr Al Sheila was my absolute favorite. It reminded me of POAL, which I have zero luck with regarding longevity. They are not exactly the same, but similar enough to replace it while offering better performance. My little 5ml sample had a nuclear strength, you could not wash this stuff away with bleach if you needed to. So I finally buy a bottle last week, and such a disappointment it is! For whatever reason, all I get is an hour or two of strong, in your face projection, and then it dies down to nothingness, literally. No dry down, no skin scent, just nothing. I have been trying for a few days now, with the same result. It makes me really sad. I am thinking there must be something in the composition of both the POAL and this (being a dupe), which does not jive with my skin chemistry. I will try Portfolio Floral Sculpture by Al Haramain next, in hopes that one performed better!

If you love rose & oud combo you might enjoy this one. When i first got it, it reminded me of Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud but then developed into something much stronger than Jo Malone. Nowdays many perfumes smell like this: Gold Aoud Mancera, Armani Prive Rose D'Arabie, something from Lancome private line, even Radical Rose by Matiere Premiere and list can go on. This one is quite pricey but it's a beast. Enormous projection and the scent will stick to your clothes for a very long time (my bottle was released in early 2023, i don't know how current batches perform). About the scent itself: yes, rose and oud combo with a very vintage vibe. Its red velvet rose, very powdery and slightly metallic. Cloves are there too. I had to declutter this as i couldn't find occasion to wear it.

This fits in my Dark Florals fragrance family along with Shaghaf Oud Aswad, Narciso Rodriguez For Her, and J. del Pozo's discontinued In Black. It was far too floral for my taste until I let it sit awhile. Most of the time, the Oud Aswad is what I want for its beautiful woodiness and incense, where the rose is part of the blend but not the whole thing. If I want to specifically smell like roses, I go for Sehr al Sheila. If I want more jammy, it's the Narciso or what I have left of the J. del Pozo (may it rest in peace). This is a fragrance for fall and winter nights. Not a daytime scent for me, or for warm weather. It's classy and well-blended, and by all accounts one of Swiss Arabian's best. But I am not a floral gal, so this one gets occasional wear.

I had to come back to make a new review of this perfume. I don't think this perfume is anything special however the compliments I get are insane and constant, even in the end of my 12 hours shift, men seem to really enjoy this one. Funny thing is this is the cheapest perfume I've ever bought so win win. Update: since I've started wearing this perfume a lot for work I decided to get a new bottle however some details on the bootle are different, the scent is different and with no lasting power. I've got it a couple of weeks ago and am hoping that it is the case of giving it time to macerate otherwise unfortunately it's another reformulation gone wrong

This is nothing like Santal Royal, maybe a less deep and less warm Portrait of a lady however POA is my favourite perfume ever and this one has been a challenge... I thought it could've been a summer fragrance but it didn't work for me but... now that the temperature has drop a fair bit surprisingly this perfume is more... tolerable. I'll give it another go when it gets colder and it'll be the last chance before I give it away. There's no time for so so perfumes

I do not own Santal Royal so I cannot make the comparison, but this combination and rose and oud is perfection. There is definitely more rose than oud straight from the opening. The rose is very soft and smooth and blends well with the oud in the background. This is not an animalic oud and is not offensive. Very easy to wear and gives is quite elegant in my opinion. Longevity is very good, amazing quality for the price. Highly recommend!

A beautiful rose fragrance—subtly sensual, powerful, and confident. This is a smoky, evening rose with depth and presence. The longevity is excellent; the scent lasts for hours, and I often receive compliments when wearing it. The only downside for me is the bottle design, which unfortunately looks a bit cheap. The fragrance itself, however, is anything but—it smells refined, rich, and far from inexpensive.

I love Sehr Al Shiela. It’s complex but you just love the development although it doesn’t change much. I feel it’s perfectly Unisex. It lasts really well and projects (fills the room actually especially in the first few hours). Beautiful Rose-Oud combo without the usual gourmand notes making it unique. Love love for me

this perfume is the perfect replica of Rose d’Arabie from Armani privé , and for a fraction of the price, beautiful Middle east oriental rather seductive , more a fall/winter fragrance, very underated , the oud is rather fresh than creamy ,one of my favorite ❤️

Oh no :( so sad. I mean it’s a pretty scent.. VERY rose heavy. In fact rose and florals is all I’m getting maybe some spice... I don’t smell any oud at all. Kind of was looking forward to that oud like depth but this is nice anyways, would have to do.

Very strong vintage floral it dries down to initial smell of Jo Malone Velvet Rose but with out the freshness and more powdery. I would not spray directly or if so spray from a distance or walk into a mist.Long lasting

More rose and spices and less vanilla. I cannot tolerate a rose/vanilla combination that is sickly sweet. This one isn’t that. As strong as it initially smells I was longing for it to even stronger after an hour.
