Shaghaf Oud Tonka

If you are a lover of warm, slightly spicy citrus scents, Shaghaf Oud Tonka is right up your alley. It smells as if you’ve just prepared a perfectly balanced Orange and Cinnamon spiced tea. Although it is orange forward, you get that spice and warmth in the back of your nose from the cinnamon. Even though the almond in the top note is outshined by the middle notes of cinnamon bark and tunisian orange flower, it’s not completely gone. Before it has time to marinate on the skin, I believe it adds a slightly creamy and nutty quality to the fragrance. But as it sits on the skin, it mixes with the vanilla and tonka bean in the base note to give it a warm sweetness that cuts through the brighter orange flower. If you're considering buying a full bottle (and I strongly suggest you do), I would not trust the accords on Fragrantica as they are not very accurate. It is much more of a Citrus scent than a vanilla one. There is rose in the middle note but in my experience I don't really smell it. I believe it's being used to add a lightness and a slight floral note to the fragrance so it doesn’t get so heavy like how it was used in the original sister scent Shaghaf Oud. Every note is mixed beautifully. Even though I don't personally use the terms masculine or feminine to influence my buying, I will still say that this is a more feminine leaning fragrance. I believe if you pair this with a smokey or incense heavy scent it would create a beautiful unisex or even masculine scent. If you’re someone who enjoys scents associated with the spring/summer like fruity and floral accords but you need something a little warmer for the fall, I would strongly recommend trying this fragrance out. Not to mention its fantastic performance. Like other Arabian brands the longevity and sillage of this fragrance is fantastic. You will smell this on your skin for hours but be careful of overspraying. And you should be prepared to smell it on your clothes for days after. Overall this is a wonderful fragrance that I’m really considering replacing once I’ve used it all up. (as i'm reading other reviews i realize that i have a very different experince with this scent which is funny, but i love it nonetheless!)

Ok so I literally just got this in the mail. So this is a real/genuine first impression. (For reference, I am a gourmand LOVER. Like literally love anything that’s sweet, fun, playful etc.) Let me tell you, I sprayed this perfume like 3x on a sheet of paper and a relative who was maybe 6ft away from me said they smelled it in the air. And I went outside a few minutes after and I could literally smell this on myself. Shaghaf Oud Tonka is probably one of my top fragrances.(I have around a small collection of 50 perfumes.) Upon initial spray, this fragrance does smell like straight up cherries. For anyone who’s ever smelled Victoria’s Secret Cherry Elixir, Shagaf oud Tonka has a very similar DNA. However, there are 0 cherry notes in this fragrance. During the dry down is where you can smell the almond and amber. I’m honestly really only smelling bitter almond/cherry. I feel like this could be classified as gourmand because of how sweet it is. I would probably wear this during the colder months because it is very beast mode but too strong to wear in the heat. (I will be testing it out now regardless). It’s definitely not a juvenile fragrance as I can see younger-older women wearing this. It is more feminine as well. However, I don’t think I’d mind if a significant other had this on. You don’t need a lot of sprays for this fragrance either because of how potent/strong it is. If you layer this with an almond/vanilla base lotion, it’s literally over for everyone else in the room. People will know you are in their space when wearing this fragrance. It’s sensual, mature, sweet, and seductive for a nice date night. However, I can see this fragrance being headache-inducing so I will use it lightly.

Let me start this review with the most important fact: this is my most complimented perfume. It simultaneously beguiles and enchants those who smell it. It will spark conversations with people about their favorite smells, or smells from childhood that remind them of this perfume. Do not wear this perfume if you don't want to be noticed. Now, what does this gem of a fragrance smell like? It opens with a photorealistic accord of marzipan: delicious and nutty, tinged with intoxicating amaretto facets. It is incredibly creamy, but not lactonic or milky. Think almond milk ice cream. The almond is complimented by neroli and rose. These notes are not presented in usual floral fashion. Instead, they take a gourmand direction, like the rose water, or orange blossom water, used in Middle Eastern confections. In the base we find fluffy, powdery vanilla extract and tonka. They compliment the almond notes and florals quite nicely, never becoming too sweet. The "Amberwood" here contributes a fresh quality, touched by musk, reminiscent of hot laundry. This note is what makes this perfume truly special. It keeps the fragrance from being a true gourmand, which can become overly sweet, sticky and stale with time. The way this makes me feel is comforted. It evokes visions of devouring fortune cookies and almond ice cream in bed, then drifting to sleep on a fluffy white pillow. I highly recommend.

Just added the beautiful Shaghaf Oud Tonka to my collection. This is the perfect almond tonka vanilla blend to me. The almond leans into its fruitier nuances and is not bitter at all. The cinnamon is sweet and almost honeyed and the rose essence is just so perfectly blended only a rose lover would even notice she was there. There is no way in the world this should be so inexpensive! This smells amazing! If you love Velvet Tonka, you may love this. They are in the same world. The tobacco in VT gives it a smooth and sophisticated feel, and I just love that fragrance. Shaghaf Oud Tonka, by comparison, feels more lively, decidedly more feminine, and more captivating. Different vibes but that same gorgeous take on the main accords. I don’t find it overwhelmingly sweet, loud or dense. It has an airiness to it that offsets the heaviness of its accords. It is a powerhouse though, so no need to overspray. Its powdery feel is a bit more textured than Velvet Tonka. If VT is pressed powder foundation, Oud Tonka is pressed highlighter with texture provided by glitter. Stunning 😍 I’m glad I got this now and not in summer. This is perfect for cooler weather and will sing in the cold. Ugh... I’ve fallen in love

initially just loved the color and the presentation, thought this would be overwhelmingly sweet and screamy, but NO. It is indeed sweet and very rich fragrance but nothing too much or too less. I'll mention towards which gender this fragrance leans more at the end. at first its Hazelnut, powdery, sweet, some floral note, and a blast of rich sweetness maybe which some people say is overwhelming. But then comes the dry down, specially on clothes. OMG, that is a different level of floral freshness, which i personally enjoy so much. Smells so very POSH. Longevity is top notch, 12 hours on skin no doubts, lasts a whole day even longer on clothes, which makes it really worth it. Specially on clothes the floral freshness pops out more than on skin, it presents differently on those, as well as on different skins. Majority would choose this leans more towards feminine choice, but men can enjoy this sweet, freshie so perfectly as well. really interested to try Shaghaf Oud Ahmar as well after seeing its fruity notes. Absolutely yes for this perfume. Girls , this is a must for your collection and Boys why not, try this if you enjoy some fresh sweetness.

I got it today, I'm addicted. Silky smooth almond and vanilla. If you like Boss Absolu and Asad Bourbon and armani code 2024. It's very likely you'll like it. There is no cherry, almond smells like cherry to some people. Even in the food industry some things that are "cherry" are actually 50% almond, I've always noticed because I adore both things and it's easy for me to distinguish. Oud? I dont think so. Amberwood, maybe in some dark back alley. Tonka, Yes but very smoothly blended with the vanilla and almond. Cinnamon yes, but again very smooth blending with the main almond and vanilla. Rose not really, maybe there is but I can't detect it. If you want Rose they have another one with the star being rose and it's pretty nice but i think it's too female for me 😂 Orange blossom 🌸 ummm 🧐 no unless you can detect smells like a fox or a blood hound. YSL myself edt is orange blossom, this is almond and vanilla with tonka and cinnamon. Anyway that's what you can expect. If you smell cherry, I envy you because I love cherries even more than almond but honestly its a 9/10. Not for the summer unless you wanna choke yourself or those around you.

Shaghaf Oud Tonka is rich, sweet, and straight up addictive. The opening is intense, blending warm tonka, smooth vanilla, and soft oud with a delicious almond note that really stands out. If you enjoy nutty, dessert-like scents, this will hit the spot :-) but you absolutely need to like almond to enjoy this one. I feel this is a BDK Velvet Tonka inspired fragrance, it is very similar, but I prefer this one. It has a dense, marzipan/almondy sweetness that feels luxurious and comforting at the same time. Perfect for cooler months or evening wear when you want something bold and memorable. This is a true compliment monster. The projection is strong, the scent trail lingers, and I’ve had people stop me to ask what I’m wearing hours after spraying it. Sweet, warm, and powerful without being too aggressive. A great pick if you love strong, addictive gourmands with Middle Eastern character. Edit: I forgot to say, I also detect a strong cherry note, although there is no cherry in this. Bottom line, it is delicious. Rating: 10/10

Tried this as a sample and instantly FELL IN LOVE! I bought a full bottle without hesitation. It quickly landed in my top 5 (maybe 6) and is easily one of my best purchases this year 😍 This fragrance was my tonka awakening, officially turning me into a tonka lover 😌✨ Even after trying BDK Velvet Tonka, this one wins by FAR - sweeter, smoother, longer-lasting, and a total compliment magnet 🍬🔥 And the bottle? Stunning. Reminds me of Tiffany & Co 🩵 That said, I definitely recommend trying a sample first to make sure it suits you, but fair warning: you’ll probably fall in love just like I did ✨ Update: having it now for about 3 months, I can say it's smoother by far compared to the 1st time I used it (which I did not have an issue with btw). Please leave it to sit if you blind bought and not a fan of it. 10/10

It took me almost a year to like this fragrance. At first it was Jergens Original Body lotion with some kind of unrelenting spice. Plastic bottle smell included. I sprayed it out and let it sit. Tried it over and over, a spray here a spray there. It was so thick and spicy, I just couldn't handle it. I finally put it up on my Mercari. Well, just the other day as I was organizing my declutters the beautiful turquoise box was calling my name and I tried it again, one last chance. IT SMELLED AMAZING 😍 Everything was suddenly melted into this cozy, cocooning, musky, powdery, slightly fruity almond frosting. I don't know what happened but I've been wearing it for 3 days straight and it's no longer up for sale. I have never needed to wait this long to enjoy an Arabian fragrance but I'm glad I was patient with it.

The fact that this one smells of cherry without any cherry notes is so fascinating to me! Mine had a chance to sit for 4 months and it’s developed beautifully. So, please let this sit, guys! I love how it’s so elegant and creamy once matured. The combination of almond, orange blossom and rose mimics a powdery, slightly tart cherry perfectly, ending in a sweet and slightly woody, tonka-vanilla creaminess. No bitterness here from the almond and limited oudy woodiness. To me this is out and out a creamy fruity (and thus, borderline sweet) fragrance, that tends slightly feminine. Something about it spells old money, elegance and distinction. And it’s a beast with satisfying sillage and longetivity. It’s not cloying, so I could wear it anytime it’s below 25 degrees C.

Update: exceptional longevity on clothing. I absolutely love this perfume and now have 2 backup bottles. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, Maison Alhambra Nebula II is exactly like this. Another favourite of mine ☺️ 😍 I have only just purchased this stunner, but it's already an absolute favorite of mine. I always leave my middle eastern perfumes to age for a while, as just like a fine wine, they end up beautiful (requires patience 😉). This smells divine right out of the box to me, so I know it will end up so much better! (my patience has always paid off so far). The notes blend beautifully. I will update my review on longevity etc in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, I would highly recommend this, if this is your vibe! 👌😍

Very pretty almond in the opening, after it dries for about 5 minutes it leans slightly feminine with the rose and a white floral type of smell mixed with that candied almond. After about 30 minutes it’s mellowed into a very gorgeous almond vanilla cake. Very delicious fragrance and a lot sweeter than expected but not sickening it’s a soft sweetness not syrupy. Great longevity and pretty beast mode for me. In air it smells even better. For 40$ I’m very happy and will definitely repurchase. This is the almond i was looking for. I Thought amore caffe, myrrh and tonka, br540 extrait or ideal edp were the only really wearable almonds but this takes the cake for me. 9/10

Almond and tonka bean blended oh so smoothly. I almost get a boozy note with these two, or is it just smelling similar to Amaretto with a twist? Either way, it was love at first sniff. Juicy-gourmand, it lasts long on clothes and has moderate projection. If you need an instant boost, elevate your day with this fragrance, not just at night. The scent profile is cousins with a few boozy cherry fragrances too, if you like those types of scents. The first day I wore her out I thought I would have to hold back adding her to my collection because I didn't want too many similar perfumes, but on day two that notion went out the window. I must buy a full bottle to enjoy!

Mind blowing to be honest, I could go through bottles of this without getting tired of it. Opens very floral to my nose but almost instantly you get hit with a sweet almond scent. It dries down to amaretto, boozy (somehow) almonds all the way. This is a marzipan praline with a hint of bourbon in it but it’s right next to a vase of orange blossoms. No oud in my opinion. I think the tonka shining through is what makes it last longer overall. It doesn’t project thaaat well but if you spray a plenty it’s a massive compliment getter because you smell like a dessert. Lasts for days on clothes. Love, love, love.

This is right up my alley! One of those scents that can be a total beach vibe but also a cozy fall vibe! That’s what i love about almond and amaretto scents. It’s warm and cozy and sweet without being cloying. It’s not strong but it is if that makes sense. You can smell almonds and vanilla but it isn’t going to make everyone around you pinch their nose. This would be great for layering too but alone is a very fun scent to sniff all day! I wore it to work and i have a collection so i wear something different everyday and this is definitely a favorite!

This might be in my top 5 perfumes ever. It is an absolutely beautiful, delicious, luxurious fragrance. On me, it isn’t a blast of almond, which I like. It’s a warm, rich, creamy, sweet tonka with a kiss of almond cookie and toasted sugar. This smells like a wealthy woman in a luxurious robe baking cookies. It is so smooth, well-blended and completely addictive. I would wear this anytime, anywhere, for any occasion. I’m sure this would layer beautifully with other fragrances as well. Possibly one of Swiss Arabian’s best offerings. 50/10

Nutty vanilla flowers. I’m only on day 2 but I am in love. This is the perfume equivalent of the fluffy inside of a new hoodie. Comforting but très excite. I am sensorially titillated. But in a soft way, a quiet way, a relaxed way. Hoo boy. Update: I’ve worn this several times since getting it and it’s dreamy. Not my longest lasting scent but it’s decent. I need to be in the mood for it but it’s sweet almond without being too nutty or cloying - the oud does a good job of keeping it interesting. I really enjoy this fragrance!

I blind bought Shaghaf Oud Tonka based off the notes and smelling it on a coworker. I've read a couple of reviews that compare it to play-doh, but I don't get that at all. To me it immediately stood out as a rich, gourmand fragrance with a strong almond opening that feels sweet, nutty, and almost dessert-like. The dry down is where it really comes together, softening into a smooth blend of creamy tonka, vanilla, and amber that feels warm, cozy, and slightly sweet, lingering gently on the skin without being overpowering.

Shaghaf Oud Tonka is sweet, nutty, light, and airy. I sampled this and loved it but not to the point that I’d immediately get a full bottle. If this has a bit of toasted quality to it, I think it would’ve been better. Ultimately, I think everyone should try this regardless if you like gourmand fragrances or not. This is beautiful !! Maybe consider layering this with other fragrances that is up your alley if you feel like it lacks certain qualities you’d like in a perfect scent. I think this is a safe blind buy :>

Very straight forward, but well crafted almond / amaretto / marzipan gourmand. What works here especially well is the fragrance is not overly sweet or syrupy, which would turn this into a cloying mess. Instead, the restraint allows the almond and tonka to really come through and shine. Perfectly unisex, great for a date night (just don't overspray). An absolute steal for the price...perfect for someone looking to add an almond forward fragrance to their collection without breaking the bank.
