Meteorite

I’ve had this fragrance for around a year now and came back to add to my review only to find it had never posted! So to start fresh: This is my absolute favorite fragrance of all that I’ve tried from SYD. I love a unique, outdoor fragrance that creates a picture in your head. To me this one smells like hot soil, like gardening under clear skies and warm weather in the spring and summer. There’s a slight smokiness to the soil that comes out, and I get more pepperiness and resin in the dry down. The coffee scent doesn’t come across as a true espresso scent to me, but is reminiscent of these amazing espresso martinis I once had that were made with Turkish coffee, very subtle but still lurking under the soil. I just pulled this one back out now that the weather had been consistently hot again and I might love it even more than I did last year. It sits pretty close to the skin, it makes you smell like you’ve been outside all day along your skin, but the longevity is fantastic. I can sometimes smell this on myself even the day after spraying. It also layers really beautifully with other fragrances, today I’m wearing it with a little bit of a lilac fragrance.

This is really unique and lovely. It smells like the cold soil on my hands in spring when I'm planting my garden. It has this push and pull between feeling grounding and then cold. It starts really strong, but mellows 30ish minutes in. On paper I thought it would be too avant-garde to actually wear, but it is wearable. When it settles it leans classically masculine on me. Definitely sample!

I find the notes listed here to be quite accurate. Opening is VERY spicy both in a "fresh spicy" way (funky green thistles) and a "warm spicy" way (cardamom, pepper, lots of saffron.) I loved the unique opening, dried down into a tasteful peppery spiced oud scent that was a little too masculine for my taste but still enjoyable.

Upon first mist, the fragrance is sharp and green, then its followed by notes of dark rich soil that has been lightly rained on; which I’m sure is the Oud. It mellows out into a botanical cozy fragrance that evokes cardamom coffee in a lush mini cottage patio after the rain. The vibe: No WiFi, expensive incense, artesanal coffee and living off the grid for the weekend only because you’ll be back in Melrose by Monday.

Smells like something you would burn to cleanse the house. Like smudge spray. I do love it but I’d rather use it as a room spray than perfume. It does smell great layered with honey body.
