Oranzo

I really love this perfume. Opens with such an uplifting sensation of being under an orange tree - wild, green, aromatic, crisp. Within a few minutes the botanical smell fades to a simpler sweet neroli. And within an hour or so, it finishes with a vaguely green and earthy musk, which I pretty soon stopped being able to smell, but which my partner said smelled "spicy" for up to 6 hours from application. Curiously, the bottle smells like sunscreen. A lovely Mediterranean pick-me-up. Edit: The opening of this has a special place in my heart, but the drydown is a bit too reminiscent of a hand soap we use :( I wish I could hold on to those top notes forever! Honestly I might buy the bottle just to spray it in the air and smell it lol

This is a detailed and sensitive, literal interpretation of orange blossom. That’s what I was looking for in it, and I’ve not been disappointed. It’s delightful. Oranzo starts chilly and green, and the leafy quality carries through as it warms over the first hour. After ten minutes it feels literally like an orange grove in the fall. It’s a heady, creamy orange flower with the greens still drifting through, and just the barest reminder of warm earth at the base. The orange blossom carries clearly through the dry down, but the green warms down to an earthy musk. If you’re looking for a day’s walk through an orange grove, this is it.

I've picked it up in the samples set as a bit of a "might as well" and sprayed before shower, not expecting to like anything orangey anyway, as I've recently tried Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man, which people say smells like Aventus and Sauvage, but on my skin it smells like a manly orange peel and I don't like it... This just smells like jasmine shampoo and I love it! Wouldn't wear it personally and not on a normal day, but imagine it would be nice for a lady on spa day.

Lovely! Fresh, herbal, citrusy- so natural. Truly like being in an orange grove in spring. It has such a brightness which of course is great for spring/ summer but I am wearing it on a snowy day -plays well with its icy nature. It projects very well (the cold?) I don’t gravitate to “green” fragrances usually but something (neroli?) keeps it from being too sharp. Unisex. I am not sure if others would like to smell it on me, but I love it on myself.

The green notes in this are what really do it for me. I tried this on while in Paris in early March. It was chilly and damp but some bulbs were emerging and you could sense that spring would be in full bloom in just another few weeks. As I went about my day I kept getting a whiff of this and it was unexpected but perfect. A sweet orange blossom just wouldn’t have fit. This is icy and green and I’ve worn it in every season but fall and adored it.

Very fresh and more leaning on food-alike, mouth-watering kind of fresh spicy citrus scent. Nothing sweet about it, totally green and going more bitter in its development. Reminds me of freshly squeezed lime and freshly grinded black pepper. For me it feels a bit like too simple and missing a layer, but it is enjoyable and uncomplicated. Smells natural too. I will try again on a warmer day to see how it changes.

This is so dreamy. It could very well be named "This is Lemon Blossom, I don't care what anyone says, notes list be damned". It feels very lemony, yellow, refreshing and happy. Like it transports you back to your childhood. If you only want one "green" perfume in your collection, make it this one.

Quite green, crisp and natural-smelling neroli. Longevity is also good comparing to others in the same genre.

Cool, fresh and soapy almost pure orange blossom scent. Nice.

Super fresh, super green - opens up almost entirely green and herbal. Sour, very sour, like aromatic herbs and citruses. This does not open as a sweet neroli fragrance. But I really enjoy it. Invigorating, perfect for hot sticky summer. It almost smells like food, like a sourdough bread sprinkled with lemon and herbs to keep everything sharp and almost stinging. It's icy in a different way - not cold, but still bracing, the sting of a tree branch when it whips into your face. A sweeter neroli emerges faintly as it continues to dry down, even just a minute or two after spraying. It's lovely as it brightens the perfume, giving the fragrance a wild honeysuckle feel amongst tangles of green vines. The neroli steadily burns a little sweeter, like a gardenia in bloom. Oranzo wears close to the skin, but it's not a weak or wimpy fragrance. Give it a try, it's perfectly unisex and earthy :)

This is a very nice creamy, soapy, orange blossom and neroli, perfume. Very refreshing and zesty while remaining soft and feminine. What's not to like? A classic fresh spicy neroli, and petigrain mingling w/ creamy orange blossoms and a very pretty feminine musk. This one is a winner. If you want a classic gorgeous and perfect neroli perfume you can't go wrong w/ Oranzo, it is neroli perfection. And I might be adding it to my collection. This is the best neroli scent I have smelled in a long time. A winner. Edit:1/8/22 I personally find the orange blossom line is the best of the 3 lines. That being said I am not buying any of these and will just use up my samples. My husband hates all of them and I don't like to wear perfumes he hates very often, and I have so many white florals. But if you want really well-made orange blossom perfumes these are very good.

Neroli, citrus and petitgrain, I’m a sucker for these kind of fragrances. A summer, unisex, classic scent, Oranzo has stamina. About an hour of light projection before turning to a skin scent. The drydown features a softer citrus—but still sour—now mingling with musk. A predictable path, Oranzo is not vying for an originality award. I don’t own Tom Ford Portofino, but have tested it and from my recollection this is very similar, though Oranzo is more complex, and more feminine. I noticed a light oil sheen after spraying this on my arm, and I assume that means the ingredients are quality. This is the first sample from the Collection Fleur D’Oranger by Sylvaine Delacourte, and like the last time I tested from this house, very natural and easy to wear. I like it, but I will need to wear this in warmer weather before I can make a final decision.

Oranzo has the natural greeness that I was craving but perhaps goes a touch overboard with it? The opening is a bit like galbanum maybe and heavy petitgrain/neroli with this characteristic green vine, and creeping ivy sensation. This is more in the vein of a 4711 Cologne. It’s lightly spicy too even with a vague black pepper/coffee nuance...seriously. It reminds me of Goutal’s Ninfeo mio in a sense too. Then the orange note kicks on and the orange blossom accord reveals itself but still veiled underneath an overgrowth of green and still a faint coffee. Very nice. Like a classic petigrain/white floral but more Interesting. I was diggin’ it.

Dewy, crisp, bright-green grassy treatment of the orange-blossom theme which leans into its vegetal, leafy side with great success. One of my favourites of this Delacourte range because it has the guts to stay truly green and resists tipping over into excess sweetness. All the citric & aromatic notes turn up in the right order and are juggled around deftly enough to stay in balance. Not original, or exceptionally high-quality - its sillage is limited and longevity weak - but for short-term spritzing in warm weather this is pretty close to perfect if you're a neroli & orange blossom lover.

Definitely enjoying this one - I'm a huge fan of neroli after all! This is a fresh neroli-based scent, its sweetness tempered with the green bitterness of petitgrain. The balance between these two notes is somewhere between the invigorating fresh sweetness of 4711's EDC and the bracing dryness of L'Occitane's Orange, Feuilles & Fleurs. Its projection is better than expected, with one spray of the vial to my wrist projecting effortlessly for over an hour, and is still going strong as I write. I can see myself using Oranzo a lot in summer!

Oranzo is very similar to Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford. Neroli in Oranzo is dominant, followed by bitterness of petitgrain, green notes and citruses. Fresh, green and slightly bitter. Not my cup of tea but I'd love to feel it on someone else. As most of Sylvaine's fragrances, this perfume is best worn in warm sunny days. Moderate projection and sillage, inoffensive and impossible to overspray due to its gentleness. I find that Fleur d'Oranger is my favorite collection by Sylvaine and at least one of them will be purchased soon.

For me personally, I tried this on a cold day in January, and I didn't like it. The only note I got was this green bitterness that didn't ever transition to any of the other notes listed. However, I tried it a week ago in the heat and mugginess of my East Coast state's summer, and surprisingly, I like it. The bitterness didn't last as long on my skin and it felt more refreshing. I don't like it enough to buy a bottle, but I'll definitely finish the sample!

This is largely a neroli fragrance with some citruses and petitigrain. There is a slight sunscreen vibe, and I get something slightly mineral, but mostly I get neroli. It also has a very Mediterranean feel to me. This lasts on me about 5 hours with soft projection. This would be great for Spring or Summer. I'm generally not a big fan of neroli dominant fragrances, so I'm a bit shocked by how much I enjoy this one. Completely unisex in my opinion.

Way too green and aromatic for my personal taste, but I will say it is beautiful and well made. There are others I like more in the orange blossom collection.

Notes listed on the brand's sample box for Oranzo: Petitgrain from Paraguay Tarragon from Hungary Orange from Brazil White Musks Ambroxan On first spray, it's fresh and biting, but not in a bad way. It's very pleasant and fresh, unisex for sure. But a few minutes in it started to grate on me. I didn't understand, because it smelled very pleasant otherwise. Eventually it gave me a headache and I went to sleep. I didn't read the box's notes until the next day, it's an Ambroxan fragrance. Otherwise it's a clean, fresh, crisp, orange blossom scent for anyone (unless you can't do ambroxan). Not for me, but may be for you!

Good projection at first. Skin scent on an hour. Smells like an orange blossom essential oil, meaning it's a single note scent. Skin test from a manufacturer's sample on a 72 degree day.

The orange in this is the same orange as Kilian Love. Oranzo is orange-musk Kilian Love is orange-sweet This is a pass since I like Kilian Love better.

This has Ambroxan in it. That is always a no for me. It ruins an otherwise good composition. Shame.

I like petitgrain in the way I like turning on the TV and seeing something I own (a blanket, shirt, piece of furniture) used as a set-piece on a show I watch. It's such a strange feeling, to point at the screen and say 'I know that thing. I'm familiar with that thing!.' I think it's part of what Benjamin meant by 'shortening the aura.' Similarly, through the mystifying practice of olfactory exploration, petitgrain is a familiar face; an anchor for identification. Cool, bitter, fresh, green pepper; I find petitgrain so distinct that, like it or not, I do feel a sense of ownership over it. From first application to last waft, Oranzo is pure petitgrain with just enough room for a little orange blossom and musk at the margins. I like Oranzo on a philosophical/theoretical level because i think it's really different and compellingly dry. On the practical side of things, I don't really imagine myself wearing this again. Honestly though, if I smelled someone else wearing it, I'd be hyped up, like I want to meet the person who buys the full bottle of this.

Not your typical citrus. Maybe I don’t hate neroli after all? BF isn’t a fan- he said it smells like “sticking orange peels up your nostrils.” Personally, I think that sounds like a delightful smell. Review from 2024: So I bought a bottle after thinking about this over the years, and now I'm letting it go. My previous review still stands, but the dewy vegetal greenness mixed with orange blossom, a note that I don't enjoy 90% of the time, is mildly irritating to me. Oranzo smells natural and beautiful but I don't reach for it.

The most pure neroli and orange flower of the range. The rest of the range are more twists of orange flower, this one is the real thing if you look for a literal one. Was initially reluctant fearing to find an ice or ozone note in it as it’s described as “Icy Orange Blossom” on the sample kit but safely nothing of the sort. Pure neroli and green side orange flower the closest to smelling the flower still on the tree. There is one that gets close - Fleur d’Oranger by Benchaabane for Les Parfums du Soleil In Marrakesh. I love both so if I would be looking for a real orange flower and could not get the other one I would go for Oranzo instead. Lovely discovery. There is a very soft and researched elegance in all the line.

The most beautiful creation from Sylvaine Delacourte collection. Gorgeous true neroli, with not sweet honeyed blend from clementines and beautiful green bitter notes from petit grain, rosemary and tarragon shining through. Beautiful trail of ambroxan and orange blossom blended with a touch of jasmine makes it musky and seductive. In its base there are luxurious soapy washed skin and clean linen notes blended so classy and fresh but with a character and a soul. Also very affordable, I just wish for stronger concentration, altho their edp have moderate longevity with a medium/strong projection and silage in first three hours.

If you want an uplifting frag with a healthy dose of Neroli, it’s difficult to find better. I’d say this and matiere premiere are the nicest I’ve tried because they are natural smelling and blend outside of the 4711 wheelhouse. It’s natural to be reminded of 4711 in any Neroli dominant fragrance (as I do frequently), and the Tom Ford certainly hits that dna, but if you cannot differentiate the quality or nuance between this and 4711 (or heaven forbid, a generic shampoo), then you should stick to designer frags.

I just received my Orange Blossom set of decent-sized samples for $10 today and tried this one first. Neroli, baby! You have to love it. I don't get the musk. I only sprayed it on a scarf so far since I already had fragrance on, so let me update my review when it goes on my skin for the day. So far it is a like, like an expensive candle scent, but not a love. I am so grateful for interesting new scents that are not animal-tested!

Working my way through this lovely discovery pack of orange blossom fragrances I am smitten with this beautiful Oranzo! It manages to embrace EVERYTHING I love when it comes to the whole gamut of citrus. Sweet, fresh, sparkling, tender and with an outstanding longevity for this fleeting genre, I know I cannot live without this Mediterranean bouquet of sunshine, flowers, herbs and citrus gems.

I reviewed this lovely fragrance several years ago but just tried it again today and was immediately transported to summer on the Costa Brava in Spain with the turquoise Mediterranean, sweet orange trees and herbaceaous aromas warm on your skin under the Catalan sun. Unforgettably nostalgic and joyful.

The greenest scent of Sylvaine's new orange blossom series... very bergamotty !! Very nice to wear but these greeny-icy scents à la mode are somewhat allready déjà-vu, and here I miss the originalty and genious touch I got with the other four juices of this series. Still a very nice composition.

this is sheer enjoyment to wear! I am transported to a sunny mediterranean terrace with shade from fruit and palm trees dancing on the tiled floor, and a fresh breeze on my face.

OK with other reviews : beautyful but not original. I try both Oranzo and Fleur d'oranger intense by Fragonard. I perceve the same fragrance.

Sadly discontinued despite being one of her most outstanding creations!! Truly a masterpiece that exceeds and Tom Ford!! Really.
