Osiris

My second review of this stunning scent. I got a sample in the discovery set, used the voucher to purchase a full bottle. - Scent: honeyed mandarin, sweet but not sickeningly sweet, the orange blosson and benzoin add good bitterness. Feels a bit thick, sticking on skin, more as a feeling than physically. - Unisex, leaning feminine, but I don't care. It became my most complimented scent ever. From colleagues, dates, friends.. women seem to love this, and so do I. - Loooong lasting. I sprayed it on at 3pm, again with small sprays at 7pm before meeting my date. Results: I can smell it on myself without going anosmic up until the next morning, I kid you not. It's every bit of EDP. - I recommend this for the elegant woman and the man who's not obsessed with masculinity. Works in every season except high summer days. Enjoy this hidden gem. :)

This is my favourite fragrance from the Orange collection; just like the vanilla collection, I started with the tester kit and fell in love head over heels, so one week later 3 beauties from the Orange line were added to my collection. This is a perfect fragrance to me as it it sweet, gourmand, exactly what I like in a fragrance and radiates elegance at the same time. It does not scream, but it is definitely intense and I love wearing it on evenings out with my partner or dinner with my friends. I always get asked what I am wearing and wish more people knew about Sylvaine, but on a second thought, I feel like this is a bit of a secret creation since not too many people seem to know about it.

Osiris shines the brightest on a warm day. Juicy clementine that isn't fresh or citrusy but rather sweet, probably thanks to honey and sesame notes that aren't heavy or cloying. This will be perfect for spring and autumn days as well as in winter for those of us who live in warmer climates with lots of sunny days. It doesn't work for me in extremely cold days so I'm glad that I gave it another chance today. Sillage and projection are moderate and they last around 8 hours on me. I love that I didn't become anosmic to it throughout the day as it is so wonderful that I really enjoy to smell it.

I recently ordered a new sample package and I think the notes have changed since the ones listed here. I don’t care for woody notes and do not smell any in this now! Delacourte now lists the notes as Clementine, roses, fleur D’Oranger, Cedre and Sesame. I did try this years ago and didn’t care for it (have always loved Vahina) but now I love it! It is a soft orange blossom, floral, honey lovely scent. Perfect for Springtime.

My favorite from the Line, the only one i could buy, sweet creamy orange blossom perfect for warm weather. Longevity is ok and projection mild , i still could smell the orange blossom on my clothes the next morning. Still a bit minimalist and lacking of an extra dimension to trigger the buying but i will keep it in mind, in my quest of an orange blossom perfume.

This really is lovely! I tried the musc and ornge lines, 3 scents stood out, this is my favorite and I will probably get a bottle. It's not generic, performs well (better on clothes), and although I struggle to describe it well, I just know and often think "this is how I want to smell now".

Delightful. There's no other word for it. Juicy, slightly gourmand without being extra sweet. The addition of sesame gives Osiris depth and density without making it heavy. Delicious.

This is a unique gourmand in a world filled with saccharine, elementary school sweets. For me, Osiris is sesame & honey fry bread infused with mideast Orange Blossom water. Yummy 🤤

This is such a lovely scent, one of my favorites, definitely a summer/spring scent. Too bad its a bit pricey for the performance it offers.

Elegant, delicate & comforting. There is something somewhat nostalgic about this scent. I love it but its definitely not a safe blind buy.

This is my favourite one of the SD d'Oranger line. Such a warm and rich orange blossom!

So this is really nice. I was reluctant whether to state that Osiris wasn't the most traditional orange blossom but having tried the rest of this line I'd have to say it's the most conventional of the lot, giving light citrus and waxy, white floral creaminess at it's core. The element that threw me was the sweet, powdery, vanillic nature of the opening and first hour or two. It's very sweet but then there's a nice balance of true orange note and chalky, aldehyde normally associated with peach or apricot notes but on this occasion, firmly an orangey vibe. The orange blossom accord actually grows as it dries down into more that classic, fatty waxiness, but it's very subdued and never to the point of a truly heavy floral orange blossom. Osiris still has a vanillin, custard sweetness, a theme that's a little L'Art de la Matiere, something I will touch on in other reviews of this line, because the Guerlain ties are pretty glaring....in a positive way. This is an enjoyable wear for me today. :)

Osiris opens sugar-sweet. Candied oranges—not blossoms, but the sesame quickly comes in to ground it. My daughter said it smells like the beaches in Spain—the clementine and sesame come together in something reminiscent of suntan oil—as 2lipsinHolland points out. After a few minutes I had to look up the name of that honey-sesame candy I used to like—Sesame Crunch! Remember those little bars? It’s all sesame and honey. An hour in, I can still remember sesame candy, but now I’m getting the vanilla-resin of the benzoin and some definite citrus flowers, but not specifically orange. Lime blossom, maybe lemon, maybe grapefruit... but definitely heady-waxy citrus flowers... I do get nice wood and resin as it fades. The honey trails a little more strongly than the orange blossom, so the effect is more of sugar-frosted blossoms than a fruit tree in bloom. This one feels winter-warm and festive to me. Maybe a white velvet gown at a winter wedding, or the contents of an elegant Christmas stocking.

This is a mouthwatering honeyed clementine w/ a nutty and creamy sesame. A bit of pink pepper adds spice but isn't overdone. Orange blossom is present w/ a nice slight woody dry down. This is a very sweet perfume and could be a bit cloying, but I do like it. Edit: This orange blossom line has been on my mind, so I decided to test the whole line again. Sometimes I wish I didn't want to so badly because Lord knows I don't need another perfume, but this is just stunning. The whole thing from beginning to end. Creamy, sweet and delicious but not in a foody way. Lasts all day w/ very little very little applied. On my want shelf that keeps growning.... If I stop testing (which that is what I am going to do) then I won't have this problem. I have like 8-9 more perfumes on the want shelf and that has to be it! LOL!

A fresh and sweet aromatic orange blossom, like you're smelling the heart of the flower while a light breeze is giving you hints of aromatic scents to adorn it. There are some interesting ideas but overall it's a little bit dusty and unbalanced, very floral. I don't recognize most of the notes mentionned for this fragrance. Nevertheless if you love orange blossom it is definitely worth trying. My favorite orange blossom/neroli fragrance is Aqua Palmaris from Le Couvent.

There’s a gourmand quality to Osiris, equal play between the honey, clementine and orange blossom notes. My second favorite from the new line, right behind the more daring Ozkan. A candy-like sweetness is apparent right from the start. Interesting this is on the heavy side for an orange blossom scent, making Winter the perfect time to wear it. I like Osiris very much, and can imagine owning a small bottle.

like eating an orange creamsicle in a conservatory- i get orange citrus, sweet resin and flower petals. Unlike a few other reviewers, my nose doesn't find the orange to be particularly artificial, i think osiris is a lovely scent- sunny, beachy, and very likeable. perfect for warm days.

Big orange blossom, sweetened with honey. The sesame works as a dampener to the sweetness, but I think this would be better without it.

From official website: Top notes: Clementine, Pink Pepper. Heart notes: Orange Blossom. Base notes: Cedar, Sesame. Guaiac wood is also mentioned in the base notes, but there is no mention of honey. It simply describes the orange blossom as having a honeyed aspect (which it does). I can understand why people find the opening just too much; the honeyed blossom note is borderline cloying and reminds me a lot of L'instant. But, things change in the drydown, and it becomes something luxurious and rich. Shame it has become a skin scent by then. Interestingly enough I get the clementine more in the drydown combined with the woody notes. I honestly don't get any sesame, unless it's more like a sesame-oil note, which is meant to be more discreet. My initial expectation was that it would have had a spicy 'kick' a la Apres l'ondee, but it's more of a nutty vibe. (A friend mentioned that it reminded her of vintage Que sais-je?)

I pick up on the citrus in the opening but with some sweetness. It starts to get softer with the benzoin coming out more in the drydown. I don't pick up on any of the spices listed though. On me, this is a delicate creamy floral with light sweetness. A honeyed floral with the honey trailing more than the floral. Something about this makes me hesitate though. There is something about the base notes (all the woods?) that is making this lean more unisex than I prefer.

This smells overly & artificially sweet, which does not resemble any listed note in particular; had it been the true scent of honey + orange blossom + clementine + benzoin with true sandalwood in the background, it would've been heavenly, but again, it's none of that, instead it's the commercial range of Elie Saab at best.

Can’t put my finger on it, but this scent is giving me a headache

This is incredibly delicious. Opens up quite fresh, with the zing of neroli and perhaps bergamot or verbena - there is something citrusy and zesty at the top that sings. I do get the sesame as a taste of something unusual, but it is not sesame as I usually smell it, like in dessert or in oil. It is just the seed, like the seeds on top of a hamburger bun, but with nothing else beside it. I feel I have trouble pinpointing it because I am unused to smelling sesame seeds in isolation. If the sesame hung around while the fragrance got sweeter, that would have been more recognizable for me, and would be a good idea for someone else creating a perfume ;) Osiris gets sweeter within five minutes, and it just gets creamier and lovelier every hour that it dries down. Delicious buttery orange blossoms, still a bit of fresh clementine, and sweet honey. This is definitely an orange blossom forward, honey supporting fragrance. I have a jar of orange blossom honey and I actually compared the two today :D Osiris doesn't have the zing that honey has, it is definitely foremost a sweet orange blossom fragrance. But the honey is there, it has the dense sweetness that you can feel on your tongue after you've let a spoonful sit in your mouth for thirty seconds. It's honey without its sting. I decided to try this in winter after an email from Sylvaine Delacourte recommended this for winter, but I actually feel that it's better suited for spring - it's just so sunshiney and happy, I feel it fits better when the sun is shining and it's a bit warmer. Give this a try if you love sweet white florals, as I do :)

This is a lovely and unique scent to me. It is nicely heavy on the mandarin, the honey isn't too strong (i am careful with honey scents) and the woods and floral are very much in the background. All in all, a sweet sweet mandarin, with a hint of pepper. Like a few in the range, this lasts around 5 hours plus, more on clothes, but with some projection unlike say Vahina, which stays very close to the skin. With Osiris, you get the enjoyable whiff. I think if you like Vahina and like honey, you will more than likely like this. I would like a full bottle but I am happy to wait for a good deal.

Honey, sugary, and sandalwood blossoms. At first i got the sugary clementine, & orange blossoms, & right after few seconds the sesame, elemi, & cedar rises a bit with some barley as the clementine almost vanishes. As it calms down, the cedar, pepper, & sandalwood rises. Now i can't deny the boosting of the honey all the way from beginning till end, but its dosage is just perfect not making it neither cloying nor taking the full attention, it's just there. When it cools down (10 mins in), it kind of goes bit rubbery! It's cute blend, neither sharpy nor blunt.

Osiris is so juicy! I’m impressed that the clementine note is present for the duration of this perfume’s wear. The honey isn’t annoying or cloying (*cough* Scandal by JPG) and is there to provide a nice sweetness to the citrus. This actually reminds me somewhat of JPG’s Classique perfume. My skin doesn’t pull any sesame, pink pepper or sage, which would have made this scent more unique and interesting, but it’s inoffensively pleasant.

I sprayed this on for the first time and was immediately overwhelmed by a blast of sweet honey mixed with I don't know what. I was so bowled over that I couldn't wait for the dry down and ended up wiping it off as best I could. Osiris is an absolute no for me but ultra honey and ultra-sweet fans should try this one out.

Lovely fragrance. I find all Sylvaine's fragrances very interesting. Don't go by the reviews. Get the sample packs and find your favorite. Note that these work very much with your chemistry, so others reviews are just a fun read.

Pleasant, non-offensive frag. Citrusy, powdery honey. I would pay half the price for what it is atm in the UK but not more I am afraid. Projection medium, longevity low to medium.

This is extremely gorgeous!!! One of the most delicate honey notes I have ever smelled - well done!
