10 Une Rose Vermeille

My Sweet, how I love you <3 This wasn't the first fragrance from Andy Tauer to find favor, that honor goes to Le Maroc Pour Elle but it was the one years ago, I. HAD. TO. HAVE! That hasn't changed one bit. I didn't know I even had a tolerance for sweets, until Rose Vermeille sauntered under my nose and believe me, it is very sweet, though not cloying. The sweetness is definitely a gift from the raspberry. Raspberry can also take ownership of the jammy appeal. With that, it would be easy to label this a jammy rose and end there, but it's hardly doing the composition justice. While it is the best jammy rose I've spritzed, it's the addition of the mild spice (of the tonka bean) that makes it soooo nice for me! I frequently have difficulty distinguishing vanilla from tonka in the same composition. Not here. This tonka makes a difference. The ambergris is equally important to my experience in the base. It's solid and steady and just a little boozy preventing this from becoming just another floral/fruity concoction, one too linear to appreciate. Neither lavender nor violet catch my nose much. There is a slight powdery accord for me. Possibly from the violet. Citrus is also lost to me, not a single lemon, not a single lime and not a hint of bergamot. There is a smudge of lipstick though, towards the latter half of wear. I'd like to think it's a gift from the violet as well. Strangely, it's not out of place in the jam jar. Leave it to perfumer, Andy Tauer to make me a gourmand lover with Une Rose Vermeille. That's no small feat.

A deep and fruity, rich, warm rose. Not soft, not sugary, but dense and smooth. Une Rose Vermeillie has the same waxy quality I love in my favourite Tauer perfume, Carillon Pour Un Ange. It has a sort of lipstick texture. Tonka bean and amber (I noticed the amber right away) really warm up the scent. It's -20C here and Vermeille is behaving very nicely tonight! My favourite part of Une Rose Vermeille is the opening with that burst of tart lemon... I wish it would remain to cut some of the sweetness, but I'm not complaining. I enjoy the sweet smells of raspberries and strawberries in my perfumes. URV has been on my want list for some time. Although it isn't my holy grail rose perfume (that would be Guerlain Rose Barbare), personally I prefer these warm roses like Vermeille to spicy or green ones. My fiance said he thought my hair smelled pretty. It's the first time he has directly complimented the scent of my hair, although I do spray perfume there fairly regularly. I realized there is something special about this perfume, when I pulled a strand of my hair across my face to sniff it - there was a sort of darker quality to the scent than I had noticed at first, an alluring sandalwood. The definition of vermeil/vermeille from Larousse: D'un rouge vif un peu plus foncé que l'incarnat. My translation: A brilliant red that is more opaque than translucent.

This fragrance takes me to my childhood daydreams in southern Italy and is the antidote to the hottest days of August. Yet it's all grown up in cool, casual and feminine sophistication. First whiff is herbal and a tiny bit bitter as if it is cooling the nasal passages as if it were a palate cleanser paving the way for the fruits and violets. Lemon and raspberry swirl together with a cool powdery background. A bit like cool wet plaster humming in the background. The rose and amber ground it and prevent it from being a sugary cheap confection and the lemon and raspberry lend a sweet crispness that prevent this fragrance from being dusty or heavy. On me there is a point when Une Rose Vermeille is fresh and yet creamy. I cannot stop smelling my wrists - I am in LOVE with this fragrance and can't wait to see how cooler weather affects it. The sillage is strong at first but it quickly becomes moderate. The longevity is not as intense as I had hoped. Lasting perhaps 5 hours instead of the longevity normally associated with Tauer perfumes. I am a huge fan of Tauerville Roseflash, Fruitchouliflash, Sotto la Luna Gardenia, Sotto la Luna Tuberose, Incense Rose and Tuberoseflash. I feel that Une Rose Vermeille is absolutely unique and a fantastic addition to my Tauer/Tauerville collection.

I bought my bottle the first year it was released so it was from an original batch and has since been used and loved. As I have reviewed on other sites, Une Rose Vermeill is not your grandmothers' rose. It is a youthful, glowing- metallic rose. On my skin, usually worn through Spring-end of summer on the west coast so for me it started off with a very green/ crisp and fresh vibe. It has a very clean start. I believe the crisp start is what lends its soapy feel people are commenting about. Also, due to this crisp start the middle develops into a metallic, cooling rose which is what I loved about this fragrance. In terms of modern perfumery, Une Rose Vermeille hits the spot by bringing forth a modern sensibility to the rose genre. The dry down and base, is where I pick up the gourmand and fruity jam that lends a sensible sweetness to the composition. It isn’t overpowering. I did not feel like I was suffocating in a mass produced sugary frag. Wearing Une Rose Vermeille, gave me a touch of playfulness but not without a sense of sophistication added in. It is a perfect day time fragrance which lasted a good 8 hours on my skin. Perfect for any day time activity .

This is my first try of Tauer fragrances and WOW this one really stands out from the sample set I got from Katarina82 (eternally grateful!). Gosh, I am very surprised by this scent. I usually like my roses to smell like...well...let's say roses i.e. mainly soliflores or perhaps slightly citrusy and this scent is not like that at all. On the first sniff I get absolutely divine smell of rosehip jam, sweet and intoxicating bubbling away in a big copper cauldron. I can almost taste it, it is so divine and I don't even like rosehip jam lol. I only put 3 small dabs on but I keep catching whiffs of this sweet jammy rose scent and thinking 'wow something smells nice' only to realise it is me! Somehow this scent reminds me of Christmas, I don't know why but I would say it's definitely a winter/cold weather scent. I am well and truly enchanted by it. Trouble is now, this is so gorgeous I WANT a bottle of it and it is rather expensive.

A delicious vanilla rose scented macaron with RASBERRY cream I love this , it's easlily my favourite Tauer , it stars slightly herbal and soapy due to the lavender , which I adore , it also makes this perfume so differnt from most , rosy gourmands ,,, soon the lavender takes a backseat and the fragrance becomes almost like a macaroon with a marzipan quality , powdery and creamy all at once with the raspberries and violets coming out. The drydown is gourmand and I would recomend this perfume to any gourmand lover out there. I am getting this , it's addictive. This is like a jazzed up Jersey to me ! Vanilla lavender rose with tonka bean. Lots of the same notes , this has been dolled up wit raspberry amber and violets but it's still very similar to my nose. With a Tauer flair rather than a Chanel flair. Very nice !!!

Seems to literally jump of your skin on first spray. I gave it a quick 3 spray blast to the wrist, and going in for the first smell it had me coughing. Powerful bubblegum note as others have said but also the distinct smell of violet going through strongly as well as everything grounded by an earthier smell of something like wet Tomato plant vines. The astringent, almost sour, note balances the sweetness and the whole thing smells pretty sophisticated as it settles having started like it was going to be a sugar bomb. Having tested and bought a few Tauer's now this one was something of a surprise. If you love Rose but with a dark green, sour, twist - this might just be the one for you. Beautiful, to my nose at least - lasting well for 5-6 hours.

This smells a lot like Rasperry Tart, the doll I had in the 80s! That is no bad thing and in saying that I do not wish to imply in any way that this is not refined because it is highly refined, it's a Tauer of course. To my nose, there is a distinct whiff of lavender in the opening followed by all the raspberry rose and vanilla goodness. This never becomes intense or overwhelming for me. Shades of Serge Lutens' La Fille de Berlin in its rosy aspect, that kind of lightness to the rose. It is a gorgeous addition when you want something sweet, comforting with no dark vibes whatsoever - and it just so happens to be perfect for me today. A no drama gourmand, just edible, soft and lovely to be around.

I once discovered an unknown wild species rose nestled against a sturdy oak tree stump.I have never forgotten the piercing sweetness of that rose. I grew fragrant roses for many years but even my most pampered hybrid tea roses (Double Delight and Mr. Lincoln) did not smell as beautiful as that wild species rose.Imagine my delight when I got an immediate scent memory of that special rose when I tried Tauer Une Rose Vermeille. TY Andy Tauer. :) In an interview I found on you tube Mr. Tauer described Une Rose Vermeille as " a happy rose sitting next to a gigantic raspberry. It is balanced with a lot of ambergris".If you love rose fragrances Rose Vermeille is a must try.

Rose Vermeille is the densest ever, - thick, scabrous aroma of raspberry with citrus upon first minute, opens up into sweetness, that suits to colour scarlet just right. It absorbs and plays with skin so hungrily, takes all the space even after you put clothes on, holds on that clothes for next few days, even my coat smells now by Rose Vermeille without one single drop ever been there. It is also like squashed rose oil, heated up by violet petals with plentiful added of hot raspberry jam - delicious aroma, made to be feverishly craved from afar.

Rich, fruity jam with only a touch of rose. In fact, I'd say the rose is hiding out a bit. Actually, this reminds me a lot of Parfumerie Generale's Brulure de Rose. The Tonka comes on very strong right from the start and actually steals the show after about 20 minutes. The jammy quality still lies underneath but it's taken a definite back stage. I like this alot but I'm not sure it's worth the price when you can get something that is so close for a bit less. And I do get the lipstick feel at the opening as well.

I feel a return to yesterday. A mother and her child, singing a lullaby with great tenderness and love. The warmth of a romantic evening. This is a very feminine perfume. It's like a caressing hand. This intense perfume invites to introspection. I do not remember any other perfume when I smell Une Rose Vermeille, and I feel that it is the charm made woman. The bottom notes are heavy, sweet, warm and sensual, and still remaining, after nine hours of being sprayed (one touch) on my skin, which is soft and smooth.

Une Rose Vermeille is a sweet, jammy rose supported by sparkling raspberry, but a touch of citrus keeps it honest. Une Rose is slightly gourmand but never in a foody way. I can smell a touch of vanilla in the base, but it has less of Andy's signature base notes than any of his other creations. This is a beautiful perfume that puts other watered-down fruity florals to shame. Une Rose is yet another of Andy's scents that I simply must own.

Raspberry rose jam with fresh lemon juice and sweetened with vanilla. Add some of Andy's fabulous ambergris, some sandalwood, a little lavender and violet and you end up with semi-gourmand lipstick rose heaven. Absolutely delicious and extravagantly casual. A bit feminine with a touch of a mysterious sensual edge. Absolutely enjoyable!

WOW! Yes, this is a punch in the face, but a beeeeaaaauuuutiful one! Tauer does an AMAZING job with roses. I (will) now own 3 of their "Une" rose fragrances....this, Kandahar and Chypree. All three are amazing fragrances. I want a bathtub filled with either of these and want to soak in it for days. Delicious!

I never ever had such amazing experience... this is most wonderful perfume I found in my life. It is not only my favorite and signature scent, when I wear it I can move to different world. Everybody who likes something special should try it. Go ahead and be in heaven :-)

It's instant love at first sniff with Tauer's 'Une Rose Vermeille' I can cruedly sum this up; Johnsons Baby Oil mixed with geranium and a hint of citronella. But this brash description misleads, making it seem cheap and synthetic, when in fact, this is premium Tauer quality. Notice that I've used 'geranium' to describe the fragrance rather than rose as it reminds me of Frederic Malle's 'Geranium Pour Monsieur' (obviously without the mint) but with a baby powder vibe to it. It's almost like a mint-free 'Geranium Pour Monsieur' layed with an aldehyde-free Amouage 'Dia' woman - now that's a quality perfume comparison. The oily note reminds me a little of the rose based attar 'Marwah' by Al Haramain but much sweeter and warmer due to the slight vanilla. It's delicious and makes my mouth water.

Ok really wanted to love this! I'm all ready to find the gormand rose. On me this started off so very citrus & herbal - very sour, sparkling & bright! The rose was certainly in there too. Although its very juicy at the same time, I just can't get past the citrus herbal blast, it stays there for a while, the lavender, lemon & bergamot combo....im really not a fan of lavender. Although this so different to anything else I've tried, I like it, not sure if I'll wear it. Update: remembering this scent as so juicy, so my sample was sitting there untouched, tried it again, and I tell you it's addictive, it's juiciness is unforgettable. Maybe I will get a FB after all!

A bright, effervescent rose. I wouldn't call this a mature rose, there's a youthful sweetness to it that I find to be sexy although really quite clean, almost aldehydic. I attribute this mainly to the raspberry. As it dries down, the raspberry remains, accompanied by a smooth vanillic tonka. Une Rose Vermeille is yet another great rose fragrance by Tauer, who seems to always have an interesting take on the popular floral note up his sleeve.

An interesting, soapy fruity floral, not what I was expecting, I get more raspberry than rose, something tart (the lemon) and soapy, like fancy french milled soap (probably the lavender). Very beautiful, candied, and quite playful, I like it.

Roses, raspberry, and vanilla. It makes me imagine roses and raspberries plunking into a tub full of vanilla-scented lotion. I like it, but it is very intense--it walks a fine line between beautiful and cloying.

A gourmand rose. It is raspberry in the top then candied violet with rose running all the way through. It is Tauer DNA with the amber but no incense. It is unlike his others.

Yummy! Candied roses. A playful sort of sexy. Slightly soapy, like the old pink Camay soap in my great grandmothers 1930s bathroom. Beautiful.

The beads offset the volume because the perfume ingredients are very expensive.

54)this brand is really strange, sometimes you find something extraordinary and sometimes absolutly mediocre...and also sometimes in between like this one. My nose do the splits It start like a deodorizer and sometimes evolve to a beautiful thing. You will never feel it like a real rose, it's an all about synthetic experience with all its pitfalls. Unfortunately this kind of perfume makes me think that its creator is sometimes luckier than good. Doesn't worth his price at all. (go to Yves Rocher) Cette marque est assez incompréhensible pour moi, parfois c'est vraiment bien (Incens rosé, Lonestar Memories, Orange Star,Air du Désert) et parfois c'est plus que médiocre...et aussi parfois c'est entre les deux. Ici mon nez fait le grand écart. Ca commence comme du désodorisant et puis ça évolue parfois vers quelque chose de joli. Il n'y a jamais une impression de rose naturelle, c'est une composition autour du synthétique avec toutes les embuches que ça représente. Donc au final ce parfum me fait penser que son créateur est parfois plus chanceux que doué. Ca ne vaut absolument pas le prix demandé (vous trouverez même mieux chez Yves Rocher)

On me, this is a very unnatural raspberry on a backdrop of vanilla air freshener. I have no objections to fruity gourmands, which is very much what I suppose Une Rose Vermeille is supposed to be, and I am very fond of sweet perfumes, but to my sense of olfactory esthetics, Une Rose Vermeille is a definite miss. I think a little sourness, a la Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum Eau Poudree, or a chypre-ish note, or a heavier hand with the sandalwood, or even some spices - something to act as a counter note to the flat-ish sweetness - would have made it more enjoyable. As it is, its a raspberry that fell off the kitchen counter and dried up in a musty dark corner of the kitchen floor,where it lies companionably mouldering with a few flecks of vanilla and a wilted rose petal from last month's bouquet. Pity, I adore Tauer's lovely Incense Rose, which is ultra-mega-uber full bottle worthy, but Une Rose Vermeille, not so much.

Oh My! This is just too much. It smells like one of those old ceramic scented roses, cheap sachets and drawer liner paper - but amplified to the nth power. Gourmand? In absolutely no way. A very poorly orchestrated brew in my opinion. Bitter, sour, sharply floral, and extremely loud. Huge bergamot, sour lemon, sharp bitter rose, gobs of synthetic smelling lavender. That's all I'm getting from this. It is heavy too. I cannot detect a hint of raspberry or vanilla in this. I would never refer to it as sweet in the slightest. So thick I can actually taste it, and it tastes as if I've been sampling bar soap - and not the good kind. Perhaps its just chemistry, but I could never recommend this one. Sorry! It makes me extremely uncomfortable. Scrub.

It must be the way the amber is combined with violet that makes this fragrance smell like burned tire on me. This is a scent that I do not like at all. It smells like there is also benzoin in this because unless combined carefully, I find this note very unpleasant. It reminds me of Dune. After an hour it becomes more sweet and the rose and raspberry notes are more prominent but it still does not want me to bother testing it again. I bought a sample of this from Lucky Scent and am just now getting around to testing it. It does last for 4 or 5 hours and stays close to the skin on me.

Horrible!!! I'm not fond of roses and rasberries, but I have smelled other rosy perfumes that I almost liked them. This one is sharp, cheap synthetic on my skin, with a hair spray awful note. I think that lavender (which I like in other compositions) here, makes a terrible combo. Linear...., and not even the dry down helped to save me from the previous 3 hours' headache. I can't understand why this is so respectable. Because it's a Tauer? or there are others that truly find something marvelous on it?

I'm sorry but I, for lack of a better word, despise this. Now, obviously this is a personal thing due to the love it gets. Maybe I don't get it but, with my skin, I don't want to. The raspberry. I hate raspberry scents most of the time, they always come across as dusty and it's upsetting that this one does too. It's cloying and highly unpleasant. I'll take Incense Rose, please. No disrespect to Mr. Tauer, this is just one I can't do.

I agree 100% with reviewuer pitbullfriend:I love Lonestar and Desert Marocain but I cannot wear any of the other fragrances of Mr.Tauer..sadly..I love to sniff Rose Incense and Rose Chypree but I cannot wear them on my skin they get sort of rancid on me.. and this new Rose Vermeille is horrible cloying sweetness on me.. sorry I hope to get some real masterpiece again soon from Mr Tauer, I keep my hopes up!

Raspberry is such a difficult note for me and always smells like cough syrup. This is no exception. I was hoping for jammy rose, but instead I am going to re-name this perfume "Bonbon Framboise." It smells like raspberry hard candy. I smell tons upon tons of medicinal/synthetic raspberry and just a dab of rose. Very gourmand. I bet it smells amazing on other people.

It's like a punch in an eye. Pungent, strong smell. It couse migraine. It isn't a refined scent for me. E'come un pugno in un occhio. Pungente, mi fa' venire il mal di testa. Non è una profumazione raffinata. Acquisto sbagliato... :(

If My Little Pony wore perfume, this one would be it. Plastic doll head plus raspberry jam and some Love Hearts. It somehow manages to be acidic and cloying at the same time, which I suppose is some kind of achievement.

Initial reaction was "this is a bubblegummy rose perfume" definitely not for me, there's a certain note in it I can't stand.. what is it... RASPBERRY!!!! Artificial raspberry. Not for me.

I do not like it at all. I find this sickening and nauseating smell. It 'very intense and persistent, but very artificial.

Oh wow... the skittles reviewer is right... It smells like someone threw a whole bag of skittles into their mouth, chewed it, spit it back out, and then went into the woods coated in Raid bugspray to play patty cake with regurgitated skittle goop, pine needles and vanilla mousse. I tried to give it time to develop, but the vanilla started coming in and it became even more sickening. It smelled like when you try to cover up something disgusting with something desperately sweet, like a floral spray in a cheap restaurant bathroom. It just makes the smell worse. I know this is really harsh... but wow... I've never had a headache from anything I've sampled before. I never understood the bug spray comments I'd find under random fragrances. Now I do! It really takes me back to camping, with all the mosquitos and the desperate sprays of DEET inundating the air. I really wanted to like this. I liked the little blog posts on the website and how genuine and passionate the brand seemed. I heard this was the most feminine one they had so I very eagerly ordered a sample. I even tried it twice to give it a chance, but no dice.. Perhaps it is a cultural thing. I grew up in the southeast in the US, where my encounter with this scent profile quickly got associated with pesky sprays and long sleeves to fend off even peskier bloodthirsty little pests. I think anyone in their 30s and up who grew up in the south will have a similar response.

A massive disappointment for me, when I normally love Andy's fragrances. I really can't get on with this one. I find the opening soapy and cheap, more reminiscent of functional fragrance than fine fragrance; the middle is more powdery but still disagreeable; and after about six hours it becomes milky and flinty. Only now, about nine hours in, is it bearable to my nose (and this is a single spray from an atomiser sample).

People have been comparing this perfume to Yves Rocher Rose Absolue and Ineke Briar Rose and other creations, but I must say that I disagree. To me Tauer Une Rose Vermeille is a lipstick-type scent (à la Frédéric Malle Lipstick Rose), but with the sweet-fruity facet amped way up. The raspberry note is quite distinct in this composition, and it is much louder than the rose. However, lavender is also detectable and moderates to some extent the sweetness level. To me, Une Rose Vermeille is a rich fruity-floral. It has a density which I do not find in mainstream fruity-floral fragrances, most of which have no fruits or flowers identifiable by my nose whatsoever--all abstraction with no particularity. Here, in contrast, the notes are quite discernible and distinct. The raspberry note really smells like raspberry; the lavender really smells like lavender, and the rose really smells like rose. The richness appears to derive from the base, which lists ambergris among the notes. This would be a nice choice for anyone who likes the fruity-floral genre but is looking for a higher-quality version. No one who dislikes raspberry notes in perfume will like Une Rose Vermeille, and some will undoubtedly find this too sweet, so a try-before-you-buy is definitely in order, as this is not (as the name might suggest) a straightforward rose perfume.

I would describe this as a "Fierce" rose, fierce with a capital "F." This baby has attitude- she's not just another pretty rose in the crowd; there is pretty in there, but not really sweetness in ultimate feel. I think Andy Tauer is playing with us a bit with this one, making us expect a sweet, velvety rose with the raspberry, but what you get is a lot more. While Rose vermeille smells almost sickeningly sweet and even a little skanky in the first few minutes, as the scent develops all the notes develop and the lavender emerges stronger than the raspberry, giving you a more aromatic rose, even a tiny bit salty with the amber. It has a bit of lipsticky vibe from the rose and violet, but I cannot think of any rose that is really similar. I love this scent, but probably because I am a huge lavender and violet lover as well as a rose lover. This is not a typical sweet fruity floral rose. It is a million miles from the sticky sweet Montale rose scents. While I can appreciate the Montales, they art not to my taste and Rose Vermeille is. This is a rose in a field or a garden surrounded by lavender, wet earth, warm rocks, velvet with an edge, a pretty magenta velvet rose pin that pricks you when you try to pin it on. Spray gently and give this one at least an hour on your skin. You may be surprised at what develops.

I stayed away from even sampling this because I really don't care for rose in my perfume. (Though, admittedly I've tried to branch out, and I have been seduced by a few rose perfumes recently. Tresor's Midnight Rose really floats my boat)... As for Tauer: I own 02 and thinks its brilliant!! I recently received my full bottle of 09 Orange Star. And its the BEST BEST Orange Blossom EVER! Mr. Tauer was gracious enough to add a couple spray samples of Une Rose Vermeille and Une Rose Chypree in my package and I love both! But this one... this Une Rose Vermielle is so wonderful! The raspberry is so true, and the rose is high quality enough, and subtle enough (or blended wonderfully enough) to really trip my trigger. The oriental base is great. The Raspberry sticks around, and really seems to be riding on top of those base notes. I think you either love him or not. I LOVE Andy Tauer and most of his creations. Even the ones I don't care for, I can very much appreciate. He delivers the notes and does so with great sillage and longevity. His potions are worth every penny. I can't wait until my pocketbook allows me to buy my next treasure: Pentachord Auburn!

My goodness! My bank account is crying from my foray into Tauer perfumes! I got this as part of the discovery set, based on forum recommendations that this was akin to rose jam. This is a great catch. When first sprayed, it really does come across as warm red berry jam with no synthetic sweetness, like home made jam full of Mother's love. After a few minutes, the citrus and sandalwood set in beautifully. Another few minutes and I get a waft of lavender but nowhere as strong as in Reverie Au Jardin(another favourite of mine). As it dries it becomes warmer and richer, the citrus settling down peacefully with the berry-rose jam and woody notes, becoming more powdery as it dries. The vanilla creeps in during the drydown but this doesn't ever develop into a full gourmand perfume. Sillage for me as with the other Tauer scents I've tried so far remains rather close to the body but longevity is excellent once again. I didn't get the violet note at all ( i love violet scents)but am not dismayed. This is a beautiful, natural perfume, completely worthy of a full bottle purchase worth every penny it demands.

Une Rose was included in the fall Lucky Scent sampler, so I feel obliged to sample and report on it. Basically, this is an extension of my work day. Here is what I mean: It's Halloween season, so an admin near my cubicle stocks a bowl full on candy. I like the Laughy Taffys, and specifically pick out the strawberry ones. I peel off the paper and stretch it between my hands before plopping it in my mouth, getting a good whiff of strawberry taffy. I get the same exact whiff from une rose. The opening sugar high is strangely interesting, but after a while, and it is a short while, I'm thinking 'blech'. Way too sweet, and just like a Halloween costume, it gets scarier and scarier as it amplifies on the skin. I'll end with my usual disclaimer: Floral Fruity Gourmands are not in any way, shape or fragrant form my genre. (Edit: I 'darkened' this up by layering Tom Ford's Oud Wood, but AFTER I tried to scrub it off -which it did not go away easily. Oud with washed off Une Rose was actually quite nice)

Interesting spin on sugar-y rose. Very rich. Raspberries are here. A berry is usually present in a rose-jam fragrance. I wouldn't say this is a GREAT rose jam, but an interesting one! That 'one' being a tangy marmalade! Yep, that is the sauce/pectin that holds the rose together. Marmalade smells like an intense, earthy, orange peel with lots of sugar and PURE orange extract(sniff the Nielsen Massey brand). The amber & vanilla whipple around this rose marmalade into the heart. It goes back and forth.And lands on an Ivory soap bar soup(washing of hands) and the above mention sweet concoction. The "Reminds Me of" votes compares it to Rocher's Rose Absolue. I detect this in the base( about 5 hrs in). Being dusty, sweet tarts, lite raspberries, and faint rose jam. Interesting.

Well I must admit I am a sucker for raspberries. It's my favourite fruit in perfumes and I love the slightly sour, sherberty, gourmand feel it gives to a perfume. I got a sample of this thrown in with a recent perfume purchase. This perfume for me was a real 'wrist sniffer'. It starts off with a sour, zingy rasberry blast with a teeny dash of lavendar, and is rounded off and enhanced by a drydown of vanilla and sandalwood. It reminds me in many ways of Armani diamonds due to the combo of vanilla and rasberries. I find it delicious, special, uplifiting to the senses and totally addictive. It's my cup of tea. Well done Mr. Tauer - a delightful creation. Update: my only gripe is that it's a bit linear and the lasting power is not as great as I was hoping (about 4hrs).

Une Rose Vermeille is a sister to Apothia's Velvet rope - they are very similar for my nose. Une Rose Vermeille is about edible creamy roses on my skin, reminding me a pink cream topped on a big delicious cake :)This fragrance is very creamy, sweet, but not too much and roses are rather edible than flowery there, reminding Bulgarian rose jam a little :) The main difference between Une Rose Vermeille and other AT's fragrances is that Une Rose Vermeille does not have the typical "dusty" AT base. Yes, maybe there is something similar, but in general it is very different. The lasting power is very good. It's an exeptional scent which I will surely have in my perfume wardrobe:)

"O, my luve's like a red, red rose....." what Robert Burn achieved while composing this poem using words parallels precisely the work Andy Tauer - centuries later - has done while using fragrant elements to create 'Une rose vermeille'! A mature, velvet beautiful rose that needs only to be appreciated and loved in all her perfection! Normally his perfumes need a while before make you understand that you're smelling a masterpiece not only a common frag but not in this case: the perfect, red rose doesn't waste any time and for me its brilliancy has been unrolled under my nose/eyes immediately!

I tried some Tauer samples to see what all the hype was all about, including this particular perfume. It's nice, don't get me wrong, a little powdery, but still nice. Overall, for the price I think it's very synthetic. I actually found all of the samples to have an un-natural scent. I had heard Tauer perfumes have natural ingredients in them but from the 6 samples I got, I did not find it to be true. Again, the price tag does not reflect quality of ingredients and having said that, I liked some of the Tauer fragrances but prefer a bit more of a natural touch.

I like this. The rose does not make its presence felt much on me, rather I get Johnsons baby powder with a hit of tarte citron, which then softens down to a soft sweetness, but doesn't smell of anything I can identify. It's not girly or young like a lot of florals (particularly rose-based scents)but rather elusive yet sophisticated. My particular bugbear with floral scents is that a lot use a synthetic base...I don't think this one does, but if so, then it's very well done. A nice Spring/Summer fragrance - for me, a little light for the colder months.

I was prepared and ready to fall in love with this scent, but the lavender is so prominent on my skin that I have felt slightly headachey all day. I agree with smelling_gr8, in that there is something Christmas smelling here as well. Honestly I smell pine and lavender only and there's no pine in this at all. Today my co-worker said "I smell really strong room spray somewhere" I had her smell my wrist. Sure enough it was Une Rose Vermeille! I will say one thing about Tauer scents in general - they are long lasting - I barely put any of this on!
