Lapidus Cool Night

Was accompanying someone while they were shopping and walked to the fragrance section to pass time. My intention was not to test any fragrance but just have a look, alas, I whiffed Cool Night and my plans changed immediately! I asked the lady what she just sprayed and she pointed me towards this fragrance, I was astounded as Ted Lapidus fragrances for me smell outdated and for older dudes. She told me that this was a new fragrance and sprayed it on my wrist, I was instantly captivated! The blast of pineapple was truly amazing! She, being a saleswoman, pointed me to other fragrances but I simply could not get enough of Cool Night as I kept sniffing my wrist, you'd swear it was cocaine (which I've never tried nor will I). This is a good fragrance! Smells more to me like Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan but mostly like Rave Now also by Lattafa. I think it smells nothing like Montblanc Explorer not even in the slightest, but will have to revisit my decision once I get to do a side to side comparison of their dry downs. Objectively this is a 7.5/10 But for me and because I love it its a 9/10

Good performance but is strong enough that you can go nose blind and think it doesn't last long. Good sillage, you can stand in a circle of people and you'll be noticed off the scent alone. So far i haven't found any notes that don't coagulate well. You can definitely smell the scent changing over time and it dry downs and "relaxes" to a very nice spring or fall scent. Definitely a great daily to use after 1pm. Great atomizer, bottle, and packaging(standalone and giftset) too. 8.9/10

Bought Cool Night today, sprayed it on in at 1pm and i can still smell it now at 9pm, performance is actually really good 7-8 hours. Smells fresh which is great for summer coming up, great price, would definitely recommend

There's more of a similarity to Qaed Al Fursan than Aventus or any of its clones. Cool Night does not have the saffron bite that you will find in Qaed Al Fursan, and is brighter, sweeter, more fresh, fizzy, airy and easier to like than the Lattafa. It's dominated by the top notes - pineapple mostly. In the dry-down the oakmoss and musk joins the top notes but does not overpower them. This is a good fragrance. I think it would work better as a layering perfume if you want more pineapple in your CDNIM for example. Longevity is about 6 to 7 hours.

This one ticks all the boxes for me for a summer freshie. I love the leather at the base that balances the sweetness of the pineapple.

I often feel it’s unnecessary for people to draw similarities to fragrances, and just get to how good or not it is...but I’m going to be that guy today, Wanted EDT was my go to today, and i tested Cool Night while the wife was shopping, I was shocked at how similar it was to Wanted almost identical in the opening. The dry down becomes more sweet and flat though and also wasn’t as strong as others suggest, after an hour it’s a skin scent with not much character.

As a life long fan of Lapidus fragrances, I was honestly rather underwhelmed by this one. Looking at the ingredient list, I should absolutely love it but I find it very weak and uninspiring. Not at all the powerhouse fragrance that I have come to expect from Ted Lapidus. I wont be replacing this one (if I ever use it all).
