Oud Blanc

This fragrance is fabulous, clearly a hidden gem: it’s smooth, very smooth... And certainly unisex - which translates to slightly floral -: Peach, rose, oud and vanilla enhanced with saffron, musk, jasmine and patchouli. There’re very few fragrances that impress me after having tried hundreds, maybe thousands. And this is one of them. The best thing about exclusive editions with Oud is that they don't sell well and finally hit resellers with ridiculous prices, but take advantage quickly because they’re discontinued immediately after. More specific - and important - details about this fragrance: - The oud note is smooth and a bit medicinal, never dirty. It’s perceived as one of the protagonists at the opening, but gradually hides in the base during the dry-down. - The scent quality is simply high-end designer: Do a blind test with releases from MFK and Tom Ford with a camera if you dare, so you don't come up with excuses later. - Perfect projection for a classy fragrance - suggestive, not overpowering - with very good longevity. - In the case of a man, it’s excellent for elegant events in autumn, winter, spring and even for cool summer nights. Another fantastic use is for relaxing and romantic dates: “Oud Blanc” is the perfect kind of scent for a Hollywood’s classic scene in an oriental palace, a starry night, a princess and a prince... So to conclude: - Criminally smooooth and criminally underrated. Undoubtedly, one of my favorite elegant designer orientals.

Over a month of owning this, it's gone from a like to a love. It starts out with a fairly common, thick and velvety oud-rose which (unfortunately) reminds me of Lattafa's Opulent Oud, although this only lasts for a moment. Next, the rose comes to the fore, bright and soft. Within another couple of minutes, a watery, bitter peach note joins in. This really helps the fragrance begin to lighten, and it enter a very "fresh" phase for the next 20 minutes or so. As the peach note recedes to the background the accord they have used to signify oud pops-up. In contrast to the clean white peach, It is rich, smooth and woody. In the later dry down it morphs into a chocolatey wood, perhaps from the vanilla/patchouli combo; nudging things slightly away from fresh and towards smooth. Although "peachy floral" is not your typical masculine accord, I have gotten over the idea of the top end of this being too feminine for me, and now I crave wearing it. Clearly a really well made scent and just ridiculous at <£20. UPDATE: I've given it further full wearings and it's brilliant. Such a satisfying journey through the different phases. I bought this when I was searching for a Zegna Indonesian Oud alternative - this doesn't smell *like* I.O. but it gives the same vibe of "a clean, fresh oud-rose that's not heavy". I'm not usually too bothered about this, but the presentation is 🔥 too.

I heard about this on Agnes Eva’s Youtube channel. It is a blind buy for me. I've made quite a few blind buys based on Agnes' reviews. The rose is quite prominent in this, conspicuous from the very sprayer of the bottle before I’d even applied it to my skin - and what a rose it is! A soft, dishevelled, dusty, rose just tumbled out of a bed of oud. It is gorgeous. Agnes Eva called this a bedtime fragrance and I completely understand as there is something very soft and comforting about it and it is quite sexy, yet innocent. Opening with peach and saffron, the emerging rose is like rose wrapped in a cashmere blanket. The jasmine appears later on. Sillage is quite heavy but longevity was about 3 hours on my skin. This is a cheapie that deserves to be better known. Is it unisex? Absolutely, if you are recognise that sexiness does not always apply to archetypically ‘masculine’ sharp/green/clean notes – I would like to smell this on a man.

Oud Blanc is a delight. The classic combination of rose and saffron has something eternal about it. It is a languorous, broadly Persianate-Mughal scent that evokes balmy formal gardens and sweets seasoned with rose water and saffron. The scent is reminiscent of a heady, sweet rose water with a well balanced woody resonance and an unmistakable saffron hum. The notes are a seemingly simple combination, yet those elements have such an inherent richness and complexity that they can never grow boring. Saffron and rose is an inexhaustibly beautiful and timeless scent profile that, when sprayed, seems to elevate the mundane tasks of daily life. While it certainly has presence, Oud Blanc is not overly heavy. It has a freshness to it that suits daily usage while maintaining the depth and elegance that a woody saffron-rose combination inherently possesses. This is truly a well-crafted treasure.

I bought this last week from a big European online fragrance shop, for under 20 USD, upon the recommendation of fantastic longtime YouTube fragrance reviewer Joy Amin. Amazingly, my bottle, new in cellophane, was apparently manufactured in 2014, the year it launched. How is that possible? It only had one run? And it's in great shape, and completely matured. It's delicious and rich but not too in your face. Except the first 20 minutes, which is very strong. It smells earthy and warm on the skin and fruity and flowery in the air. All with an easy-going oud. Recommended. It smells very much of its time though, mid 2010s, when all those rose-oud blends rushed into European fragrances. And before all the UAE fragrances hit fragrance shops in Europe. In fact UAEs are finally showing up in mainstream shops this year, in Switzerland.

I don't find this very similar to Shaghaf Oud at all, apart from the fact that they both have oud and rose notes. Oud Blanc is less sweet, with a pronounced patchouli note and a slight, fresh, clean soapiness to it. The rose is there too, and comes out to shine after about 15-20 minutes, once the initial blast of oud and patchouli has settled. If Shaghaf Oud is a sexy cold weather night time wear, then Oud Blanc is the more casual, but sophisticated, cold weather day time wear.

No one else will wear this or Oud Noir a year from now. They are basically already off the market. Stock up. Super quality and special both of them. Maybe too expensive or rare to make today. Just look at the bottles, they could be from the 1700s or something. Very very special both of them, a once in a lifetime opportunity, and maybe wear them together. Both are legacy perfumes that have been copied for sure. And by the way, Shaghaf Oud came 2 years after this one.

Of the 3 rose-forward fragrances I own, I like this the best. The others I own are Afnan Supremacy Pink, which smells too "grandmotherly" imo, and Club de Nuit Intense, which I don't mind, but find it slightly too masculine. Oud Blanc seems nicely blended, the oud compliments the rose beautifully. I would say it's a safe blind buy for those who enjoy rose.

You’re like in a very expensive flower store. Really a wonderful rose and exotic flowers perfume. I’m a guy and love it. And yes I have 10 bottles, as with Oud Noir.

A reserved, introverted scent. Classy and clean, but distant. Impersonal almost, if that makes sense. It's all about the rose. I like it. The packaging too.

Very very similar to Mancera’s Roseaoud & Musc, I’m surprised it’s not in the reminds me of section. If you like that you’ll like this.

this is about best quality vanilla and rose ...

Oud Blanc is one of those fragrances that quietly overdelivers. Don’t expect a dark, smoky Middle Eastern Oud bomb, this is a much cleaner, smoother interpretation. The opening has a fresh citrus sparkle with a touch of spice before transitioning into creamy woods, soft amber, and a refined Oud that adds depth without becoming overpowering. It strikes a nice balance between fresh and warm, making it versatile enough for the office while still having enough character for evenings out. The scent feels classy, mature, and masculine without being loud. Performance on my skin is around 5-6 hours with moderate projection for the first couple of hours before settling into a pleasant scent bubble. At its price point, it’s hard to complain. The fragrance is unisex, and to me it is very feminine in the opening to early mid but when it settles it’s becomes masculine. If you enjoy elegant woody fragrances with a modern, approachable take on oud, Ted Lapidus Oud Blanc is an underrated gem that’s well worth discovering.

Oud, Vanilla and a hint of rose . Oud Satin Mood comes to my mind . As far as I remember they are the only notes I catch . It seems that it is less polished than the MFK one since it has a little bit harder edges ( I do not know if it is because of the type of oud or it is a matter of lower quality ) and synthetic while Satin is always silky , it is also likely that this Ted Lapidus performs something worse but , Satin Extrait is a real bomb ... this Oud Blanc lasts tremendous too.

It's so interesting to read others reviews, buy the fragrance and realize that I don't smell any of what others do. Granted, my nose isn't as trained as some, but all I'm getting is oud and patchouli...and the patchouli is dominant. I'll let it sit a bit and try again.

Shaghaf Oud replica. I don't get any rose coming through at all. This is very oud forward on my skin and very little else.

The dominant note here is a warm rose, a little bit candied like rose loukoum. Must be the combination with the vanilla. It is a safer choice than the Oud Noir. They're very different from eachother, I happen to like them both. This one is easier to wear, the Oud Noir is more eccentric and interesting. On the other hand, I'm always a sucker for a good, full bodied rose-scent, so choosing could be a difficult decision... I might just be tempted to have both. The price is good for these quality scents that lean more towards niche than mainstream.

I’m having trouble with this one. I really like Ted Lapidus scents - it took me a while to fall in love with Creation, but I did. I also enjoy Rumba and its flirtatious flanker. Oud Blanc is very strong. I don’t perceive rose, vanilla, or any softness from musk. It stays exactly as it starts on my skin and it stays until I shower. Because the longevity is so impressive, I am putting this away for a long rest and will try again. I would love for it to be for me what others describe.

I think this is great. IMO slightly feminine leaning at the beginning, but in the later stages it is more aromatic unisex. Do not wear this to an office meeting if you are an alpha male/female type. This easily qualifies as a niche fragrance today. Long lasting, medium projecting, and overall, like everyone else stated, a very well made/blended aroma. I am yet to experience anything bad from Ted Lapidus. For the price (I paid 19 Euros), an absolutely fantastic deal.

really suprised me! high quality rose, crispy , warm and shine sexy and relaxing..reminde me so much midnight oud JHAG longlasting the bottle is unique and beutifull... in my want list for sure!

A peachy and juicy rose with a touch of medicinal oud and vanilla/fruitchouli. Doesn't get too sweet. Hidden gem for rose afficionados.

to me this smells exactly like shaghaf oud just a little bit lighter
