TL Pour Lui

Oh my...Maurice Roucel has created ANOTHER fantastic fragrance in this offering by Ted Lapidus (TL Pour Lui)! With a hint of the bombastic JPG Le Male, but FAR more refined and more balanced (never cloying either), in my humble opinion. Truly a creation of its own - and brilliantly done! Jooligan and Instantjim offer great reviews here - this is a truly wonderful Oriental Woody with great smoothness, nice warmth and a rich drydown - but, yet it has a wonderful 'fresh' feel about it. The fragrance is never offensive - it is actually "inviting"...radiating a masculine aroma of great vanilla, amber, sandalwood and some florals that sharpen and "lift" the scent. Rich, but an ethereal feeling with this scent - stunning beauty with depth that creates a gorgeous aromatic aura. I find this effect with the bergamot and mint delivering a nice green, fresh coolness on top with a nice pronounced orange blossom really livening things up beautifully - a crisp & brilliant opening!! The lily-of-the-valley coming in at the heart with the cedar is very nice and keeps the composition both floral and moves it into a nice, light woodiness (spicy cedar with a nice green & 'leafy' patchouli), all layered on a base of "laundry"-clean musk. This is what keeps the freshness alive throughout...finally soothing down to a great scent that is wonderful for intimacy, special occassions, and even a club scent that doesn't smell cheap at all (elegant/refined club scent - high class). What I like most about this is the blended composition is the harmony and balance this has...the "touch"of a true genius is in this. Maurice Roucel is a master perfumier and I buy bottles blind with his name on them. I have yet to be disappointed in the slightest. Revised score: 9+/10 and a very strong recommendation! Kudos and thanks to Monsieur Roucel, yet again. Your olfactory tastes are impeccable. This is one of my top 3 creations from one of my favorite perfumiers...which says a lot. Personally, with my tastes, I would wear this with designer jeans, a hip button down shirt (or even a top-shelf T-shirt) in the warm spring/summer months. This is a daytime or nighttime scent and could work for me virtually anytime. I do not like to compare scents, as I find try to find uniqueness & beauty in every bottle. However, for those who are curious (as scent pyramids do overlap), I will wear both Jacomo de Jacomo Rouge and Le Male - and appreciate those (Le Male is a contemporary classic), but this is a clear notch above both of those, for me. Balenciaga Cristobal Pour Homme is a slight notch above this Roucel creation, simply due to the sheer quality of the ingredients - yet, I wear TL Pour Lui far more often, because it fits so many occasions (less formal). Simply...Awesome juice. Gorgeous! Chapeau!

Ted Lapidus discovered, in 2003, how to "reinvent" the famous A*Men, from 1996, in a more classic, more mature way, as he does with most of his perfumes. TL Pour Lui was made for men and not for young people, who are looking for another night club scent. TL Pour Lui opens with a delicious orange blossom intertwined with lavender and mint. Then, it shows its creamy face, right in the heart, with vanilla (which I love so much in fragrances) and lily of the valley. I find it very interesting when notes, which are usually applied on the basis of perfumes, are used differently, as in the output or in the heart. In this case, the note of vanilla here was the most daring and correct touch of this composition. Many say it is "the best vanilla they have ever felt". Finally, we have amber, patchouli, musk and sandalwood, essential notes in the construction of a good woody. And on the skin, how does it react? TL Pour Lui is a fragrance that reminds of several others, in different nuances, such as Le Male, A*Men, Animale Animale, Lolita Au Masculin (less alcoholic), Nykos, etc. But the exclusivity of this one is clear because, as I already mentioned, it is a more mature scent. And, obviously, when we talk about perfumes from this brand, we are talking about products with excellent durability, fragrance, and projection. I don't know if it was discontinued, but it is rare to find it in Brazilian stores. Great, because a little exclusivity within the designer segment doesn't hurt anyone, does it? Here is another excellent cologne for mild climates, meetings, evening events, and romantic encounters.

I must confess: this one is one of my favorites!. The phenomenal nose behind TL Pour Lui is nothing less than Maurice Roucel (Musc Ravageur, go figure)so imagine the heavenly smell that this juice have. I can detect in the start of TL pour Lui a very sharp and cold blast of mint (very well done mint BTW), classic lavender and a hint of patchouli. This magnificent triad of notes creates a very strange feeling in my nose (a mix of sweet icy-warm stage) that, curiously emulates the smell of "Mentholatum ointment" but in a sweet way. This initial sweet/refreshing vibe, after some minutes, slowly calms down and the vanilla/orange blossom combo makes its appearance and joins the 3 main notes, giving a very sweet delicious and warm "caramel-ish" tone that endures a lot of time in my skin. This sweetness never gets cloying, mainly because the astringent power of the lavender and mint, both keeping in line the potential escape of the patchouli, vanilla and orange blossom. I must say that in this particular scenario I can detect also some frankincense smell in the whole mixture, although this note is not listed (maybe, the lily of the valley mixed with some of the notes creates this "incense" feeling) Close to the dry down stage, the caramel tone joins the woods (sandalwood and, maybe, atlas cedar) and a very refined musk, becoming the whole package into a very cozy, warm, sexy, romantic smell. Excelent for close quarters affairs. Projection and sillage are very accurate. Not invasive or extremly muted, just precise. 10 + hours of lasting power in my skin. 9/10, no doubt about it

Absolutely one of the best orientals on the entire market, easily in my top five and the best value among all of them. ($20-$30-3.4 oz) Came to this page and saw there was nothing profound I could add to the dialogue, the secret is already out on this beauty. Got it a couple of years ago on fragrancenet for $15 as a unboxed special on a whim and still regard it as the best oriental blind-buy I've ever made. This may be the best set of reviews by excellent reviewers and writers I have seen on fragrantica yet..especially jooligan, instantjim, ericrico, lobster, dubairob, mrcrazy legs and lotofire (en castellano). TL Pour Lui is rather standard in regards to composition, but the way it is blended and mixed is truly magnificent and tastefully, maturely done. The vanilla is organic and subdued yet lays on top of the rest of the notes with a reserved yet assertive eminence. The lavender and mint are no where near as desperate to demand your attention with synthetic daring like in Le Male, this is far more relaxed, regimented and structured, self-assured and without bells & whistles. The amber is subtle and soft with the sandalwood and musk, allowing the vanilla, lavender and mint to stretch out its life on the skin. Projection is moderate with 2 sprays and with 3 sprays can border on heavy but doesn't overpower like Joop! Homme or vintage JPG Le Male. Longevity is reliable and good; 7-10 hours is the norm for me on cold weather days. An exceptional piece of craftsmanship by Roucel. Can you keep the secret?

When spraying this, I often think back to the Reese's commercial; "Hey! You got your peanut butter on my chocolate!". Instead it's; "Hey! You got mint and orange blossom on my Pour Un Homme de Caron!" I love the mint and orange blossom that pairs with the lavender in the opening of this scent. Eventually, the mint and orange blossom work with the musk and amber, creating a slight licorice accord, which adds to the powdery element of this fragrance. Yes, I get how this comes off a bit like Le Male but there is much more to TL Pour Lui than that. Now, there is vanilla in TL Pour Lui but it is not cloying. The most enjoyable element of this scent is the amber. Once the amber comes out to play this fragrance stands out a bit more and displays its beauty. The patchouli and woods come in to render this fragrance more earthy and stamp out the sweetness and it dries down perfectly. TL Pour Lui is classy and mature. This scent works perfectly from autumn on through spring. I get a real, The Med in cooler weather vibe with TL Pour Lui. This could be worn by a dapper gent on a stroll in Marseille or Algiers on a cooler autumn day. TL Pour Lui is office safe and lends more to day wear. I highly recommend getting a bottle of this fragrance. The price is more than right and the performance and blending of this fragrance is of the utmost quality. Give TL Pour Lui a few sprays when you would rather be on a jaunt in Provence, but the best you can do is a promenade in a leaf strewn park.

I have really liked the few Ted Lapidus fragrances I have tried so far and this is no exception. The opening is unusual the lavender gives an aromatic quality - as lemale75 says, like camphor, but this quickly dissipates. The mint I just don't smell, I imagine that it combines with the lavender and contributes to the camphorous start. The orange blossom is fleeting but sweetness and woodiness remain after the more transient top notes are gone. It is at this point where the fragrance is at its best. Cedar, vanilla and woods combine seamlessly to give this a sweet warm heart (it's not as warm as something like Dunhill Desire or Xeryus Rouge). It is sweet without being sickly. There are no spices listed as ingredients (unless you count vanilla as a spice)but one could be tempted to think there were some in the mix. The vanilla works with the aromatic woods to give the effect of an almost culinary spiciness. Towards the end, this becomes a more sedate musky woody fragrance, which is still enjoyable. It lasts fairly well and has reasonable sillage.

Ericrico's review sums it up the best...well done. I have both Mauboussin Homme and this juice..I also agree with Flirtboy there not close in aroma. Yes some notes are similar but Mauboussin Homme has a very distinct herbal/lavender with a patucchli blend.TL Pour Lui by Ted Lapidus has a more vanilla/lavender blend with a touch of green minty clean airy vib. The depth of this amazing GEM comes from sandalwood, amber with a hint of musk giving this frag an ABSOLUTE warmth of a woodsy base. Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting over 8hrs on my skin when sprayed it lightly 2x in the morning. Finally opinion on this fragrance, This fragrance is perfect during the fall /winter months emulating off your body...men be worned if a woman is turn on☺. This fragrance is worth more than what's being sold for. A really attractive masculine fragrance with a luxurious aroma. I took a chance on this and it's very good. Vanilla and lavender. Not a sickly sweet vanilla (thankfully) but it's definitely the prominent note. Dries down to a very warm vanilla and that's all I can smell an hour or so later. I struggle to pick out notes beyond the dominant ones...I just don't have the sniffer for it. I'm fine with that as I like vanilla but in my opinion this isn't a complex fragrance. I find that my nose stays happy for about 5 hours or so and I like getting the occasional whiff of myself while I'm wearing this. A pretty great, uncomplicated, men's vanilla fragrance. Update: my nose is a bit better trained now and I think this is fabulous. A very nice vanilla, lavender, and mint combo. I simply don't understand the medicinal comments. It's pretty smooth.

Lobster2010, I applaud your review! If Thierry Mugler ever released Pure Vanilla, THIS would be it. I cannot describe how perfect of a description that is! This is one hell of a vanilla based fragrance, Maurice Roucel has really had his influence on this absolute gem! One hell of a fragrance, I am very much in love with it! EDIT: I only realised this now but I seem to have quite a love for Maurice Roucel Frags (Bogart PH, Lancome Hypnose, This, New Haarlem, Rochas Man, Musc Ravageur, Nautica Voyage) and somehow, to my nose, all of them are kinda linked (except Nautica Voyage). It must be something in Mr Roucel's work that has his signature in all of them which I must be loving, something so alluring in all of them, I just cant figure it out.

Honestly some folks truly need a nostril job. This and le male or nemo are miles apart. Maybe Cristobal comes close but just because there is a trace of powderiness you just cant start putting them into the same basket. The blending here is optimal for sure. Vanilla backbone and a lavender/mint freshness with a most outstanding bergamot that comes across natural and even slightly sour at times, almost citric. I am way more reminded of YSL Pour Homme or Jacomo Aura as its playful, fresh and soooo delicious. The picture I get is: Garden party around Easter time, kids playing near the lavender bushes while Mama is making some vanilla pancakes and lemonades for everybody. Its bright, uplifting, natural and very optimistic!

W...t...f Maurice you glorious man you...the bottle was pure crapp, plastic and the push cap wasnt attached, so i did not have high hopes, spray nr 1...mind blown, took two more and now im sitting in a cloud off vanilla frosting, smooth icy vanilla.. and some smooth white florals in the base, smooth spiced woody vanilla w just a hint off mint, this is a work off a master, trying my best to get my hand on so menny off M.Rs perfumes i can get right now.. the man is a freaking genius, this goes straight to my top 5 vanilla scents, manly yet gourmand. This is yet another proof that you dont need expensive materials to make a masterpiece and that the artist matters more then the raw materials

I get more Bergamot, Muguet, Mint, and a powdery Vanilla in this than anything else. The Lavender is there but it feels very subdued. A woodsiness comes through in the drydown, but the powdery minty floral aspects remain in the foreground for the entire wear. This is a beast in hot weather but I prefer it on colder days and at nighttime most. I initially gave this to my father when I first bought it years ago because I was letdown it wasn't as Lavender focused as most reviews stated at the time. Of course I bought it again knowing what I was getting myself into without expecting what I once did. Definitely a fragrance that grows on you over time.

I tried a bottle of Ted Lapidus Pour Lui. I really enjoy it. I was wearing it at TJ Maxx and a young lady walked by me and said, "you smell good." I immediately thanked her. It's been a long time since I got that kind of a compliment. I sprayed 6 sprays on me so I assumed I was covered. But, this scent is not overpowering, at least to my nose. The lavender, vanilla and musk all play together joyfully. It's a very uplifting fragrance. Not boring, not incredible, just very nice and enjoyable. This scent can be used formally or informally. But, I suspect it's for the latter. Very good longevity and moderate projection. I had to get another bottle.

Blind buy. Guys If you like Pi by Givenchy you will love this one, I am not saying this smells equal to Pi but the type of aroma has the same line... vanilla + cedar. Actually the vanilla of Pour Lui is lighter than Pi. VERY recommended. In my personal opinion, this perfum is delicious and very pleasant. The only thing that I would change on it is the sillage, because the sillage sits close to my skin but the aroma longs per hours and hours (good one). I prefer to use it in personal appointments like dates or dinners, not for clubbing or something like that. 8/10 my rate. Editing: this is a iman... I received many complements Today... nice!

Bonjour...! Je recherchais un parfum vanille mais loin des génériques vendus et autres soi disant best sellers... Avec ce parfum... Je l ai trouvé !!!! Je ressens de la vanille avec de la Nivea ou crème pour bébé. Je ne sais pas si C est voulu ou mon odorat qui me joue des tours... Irrésistible !!! Il y a bien sûr d autres notes mais les premières senties me comblent déjà. Et se termine par une fraîcheur douce mais réelle ! De plus... Très fort.. Si puissant... Englobant tous les autres parfums tout autour de lui..dure plusieurs jours. Je le conseille évidemment et de plus pour 30 euros(100 ML) .. Qualité prix imbattable Cordialement

I reviewed this over two years ago, but it has only been this week that I finally got a bottle of my own. It is now about 1/3 of the price it was when I first saw it! I sprayed it on my hand eight hours ago and it is still quite detectable, on my skin that is way above average duration. It is one of the best takes on vanilla I have ever smelled: it is sweet without being cloying. The combination of notes make the vanilla seem to be more like incense than something used to flavour sweet foods. It is quite reminiscent of Bogart pour Homme, but much more refined and with a more woody overall vibe.

I finally figured out why I love this so much, it's essentially a mint flanker for Caron Pour un Homme. It takes that vanilla-lavendar wallop and gives it a hefty dose of mint, turning it a little fresher and greener, ever so slightly less sweet, but still remaining at its core a sweet-powdery fragrance. If you like Caron PH and mint you're going to be C-R-A-Z-Y about this one. I plan to basically use this as my warm-weather Caron PH and save that one for cool/cold weather.

Classic blend of vanilla-fougere. It’s subtle yet powerful. Lavender, vanilla, and mint are the center, and they are perfectly blended with other notes, resulting a warm sweet comforting scent. It’s not a unique one, but it does have a great quality. Will this be a boring scent? Could be, but not for me since i’m loving it more and more. Deep, boozy, comforting. Perfect for cold weather or rainy days.

Shares a lot of the DNA with Lalique Pour Homme, Bogart Pour Homme, and Bogart CityTower. It's not the same tho, it's different and if you are into that sort of vibe, you'll definitely enjoy this. I would not overpay for it tho, it's not that much different to justify the price difference between TL pour Lui and the currently widely available and cheap Lalique Pour Homme, both scratch the same itch

If you aren't trying to send out certain signals...don't wear this. It's not for formal/office/family/work times, it's for those "other" times. I bought it in 2003 and it performed lovely. I think I bought a 2nd bottle in 2005. I bought my 3rd bottle 12 years later as this stuff just doesn't leave my memory. Or am I just nostalgic for high times? PS I wouldn't say it's like another well know scent.

Wonderful fougere, very sweet and aromatic, definitely unisex. Lavender and vanilla are most prominent, with wafts of amber and musk. There's a distinctly cold/metallic effect that persists for this scent's duration, not sure if that's the mint note, but it doesn't feel like it is. Keeps the scent fresh and engaging. Amazing sillage, lasts for well over 12 hrs. Definite must for a collection.

Update a few days later: I like this scent more and more! Don t want to sound like a snob but it is one the cheapest scents in my collection as i have only high end niche fragrances and one of the best value quite frankly. I am wearing it tonight and it is very smooth and soothing. This is a very nice scent! A nice blend of lavender, mint and vanilla. Amazing and hard to beat for the price!

Got My Bottle today. Came as part of a gift set with Shower Gel and Lotion. Yes as @Stinky whiskey Buttons put it, the bottle is crapp with the push cap having fallen off but the juice is proper. The blend of the vanilla, the musk and that patchouli ..... together with the woods in there.... very smooooth. I could not wait to try the first spray and sure wasn't disappointed. Love it!

Lobster recommended this to me maybe last year, initially didn't care for it. From time to time I would spray some on my arm, I was gradually starting to like it.Today I finally gave it a full wearing and man its amazin! Love it now!I do get a slight association with Le Male but this definitely seems of better quality. projection/longevity are solid and for the price its a BUY!

A perfect example of a high quality, well blended & superbly performing designer fragrance. The vanilla, lavender, mint & sandalwood blend is superb, not too sweet, not too pushy but very persistant and extremele well performing. It smells friendly, intelligent, inviting, reliable and very optimistic. A true Masterpiece in every aspect!

I agree with the comparisons to A*men. I had a complete déjà vu moment the minute I sprayed this fragrance on myself, racking my brain trying to figure out why I'd recognized the scent. The dry down is a little sweeter, more vanilla perhaps, but all in all, a solid and highly enjoyable fragrance at a terrific value!

Blind bought this for £15.99 at TK Maxx, honestly it is in my top five best blind buys ever. It has the same quality vanilla note as Givenchy Pi, but that is the only similarity. I find it is perfect as an easy reach for work in an air conditioned office, whilst still being different enough to stand out.

This is a serious lady pleaser! I didn't expect this to be as good as it is! It's a nice floral and vanilla smell and it can fill a room if you spray liberally. I would say 3-4 sprays is perfect. This could easily be a more popular fragrance if talked about more. I give this a 9.5/10

Test wearing this for the first time now. I like it. I like Amber Woody, Spicy Amber, and Fougere fragrances above other genres anyway. As for comparisons to similar fragrances, I wouldn't look to Pour un Homme de Caron or Le Male - those are the two listed above I have tried and have. Sure, Pour un Homme de Caron has dominant vanilla like TL Pour Lui and lavender. But the 1934 Caron has a very raw lavender and vanilla, and not the well blended, sweeter, more modern tl Pour Lui. I joke that Pour un Homme de Caron smells like the first lab effort of a first-year perfumery school student. The scent profiles are quite different. JPG Le Male is closer, but the scent profiles still aren't that close. It is closer to Lanvin Arpege Pour Homme, a fragrance of the same era. I think the orange blossom note is significant in forming the scent profile. Is the performance as good as rated here? The longevity is of the "sneaky" variety, much like Guerlain Heritage and Ralph Lauren Safari from a few years earlier. I woke up and can still smell on my clothes from the night before after a rather heavy 12-spray application. But like those two fragrances, and although it's more difficult for me to assess projection, it seems to have rather quiet projection and sit pretty close to the body. So I'll concur with rated longevity here but rank projection lower. All in all a nice fragrance. Update almost two years later: Pour Lui is still my favorite Vanilla scent. I'll test wear Nishane Ani soon, but to this poi t this is my #1 Vanilla.

EDIT: After maceration, this has become quite a nice little barbershop fragrance. Clean, fresh, warm, creamy. The harsh, synthetic drydown has gone and although I wouldn't say it smells niche, it does smell of quality. Definitely get shades of Le Male, 1725 Casanova, Invasion Barbare, and so on. Just got this after many years of wanting it and although I like it I would honestly not pay any sort of elevated price for it. The opening is quite lovely, with the lavender + mint + orange blossom + the warm vanillic base combining to make a sort of warm, fresh scent. Definitely brings Le Male, Pour Un Homme de Caron, and Bogart Pour Homme to mind so the "Reminds Me Of" section is right on the money for this one. It may be that I just need to let my bottle macerate a bit, but unfortunately that somewhat medicinal, agrestic opening (which I actually enjoy) fades a bit too quickly into the vanillic base and begins to immediately bring some other Lapidus/Bogart scents to mind, particularly Riviera Nights, City Tower, and the aforementioned Pour Homme. It's not a bad smell, by any means, but it definitely has that vanillin-infused base that is shared between those fragrances, so it struck me as a bit too familiar. It's very strong like all Bogart/Lapidus scents that I've encountered, with immense longevity and powerful sillage and projection. Honestly, this is one I'll have to continue evaluating. Not a love per se, but it is enjoyable. We'll see how it behaves after a few months of maceration.

TL Por Lui hits my brain in a very interesting way. When I smell it, it seems to convey the concept of speed to me. It smells “fast,” like a sports car driving down the highway at night. This sounds weird and abstract, and it probably is. In more concrete terms, the onset features icy vanilla mint with an almost metallic quality. The dry down feels like an attempt to warm up the fragrance with amber and sandalwood, but it still generally gives off a cold impression. There are only two negatives to TL Por Lui that I can come up with: it's a tiny bit cheap-smelling, and the mint strays a little bit too far into the toothpaste category. But neither of these qualities are a deal-breaker for me in this fragrance. With so many warm, ambery fragrances out there, it's refreshing to experience TL Por Lui and its brazenly frosty character. I also must applaud the fragrance for working well in a variety of occasions, from day to night. Beyond my minor quibbles, it is actually a very good scent. Acceptable sillage and gratifying longevity. Great bottle, too. It's the exact kind of diamond in the rough you're hoping for with an inexpensive blind buy.

TL Pour Lui is the most edible smelling vanilla I have in my wardrobe, it literally smells like a vanilla milkshake as mistercrazylegs mentioned and I mean that in a good way...I mean, who can take a sip of vanilla milkshake and not feel happy instantly? This is the same exact feeling for your olfactory senses. I get a sweet lavender and citrus with a hint of mint in the opening before the vanilla takes over ending in a vanilla musk with some amber in the dry down. This is a very sweet oriental with edible notes so if you dont like sweet frags, stay away. For me this is a great frag for close encounters, too sweet for daily use, not really serious enough for formal use but when someone is in close proximity and can smell this on your skin, boom, magic. Decent projection and about 5 hours longevity with 4 sprays. If you like vanilla as a note, this is one of the best in a masculine. I am not surprised as Maurice Roucel is one of the noses behind this. I like it. 8/10

Scent: 7 I can smell un this fragance overall vanille, lavender and mint. I can find the acid characther of the Orange blossom. Longevity: 8 It is a long lasting edt. It lasts on my skin mire or less 5-6 hours what os not bad according to the price of the fragance. Sillage: 6 It has a good projection the first hour but decreases a lot after two hours. Good thing is that because of his price the reapplication doesnt hurt. Price/quality: 10 Very good fragance for the price people can find It on internet for. I have bought It for 25€/100ml. Versatility: 9 I find It a very versatile scent. It is suitable yo use daily because of the freshness of the mint and lavender. But It could be used as well as a night fragance because of the sweetness and the intensity which the vanilla gives to it. I find It wereable in any season but better with a casual or sporty appearence. I find It more suitable for mature men than younger. Global: 7.5

This is quite possibly the best vanilla ever! The vanilla in this is THAT good. Smells like vanilla mint ice cream with a little lavender sprinkled on top. TL Pour Lui definitely has niche-like qualities to it - smells expensive but is actually super-cheap and huge bang for the buck! Also has one of the best atomizers I've ever used. If you've ever liked Le Male but found it too obtuse, this shares similar notes but is MUCH more refined, more grown-up. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you like any of Maurice Roucel's other scents.

TD pour lui is a very refreshing scent,but is really medicinal,it has a feeling that i can sense also in the third man of Caron,is another very good fragrance of the Lapidus line,but more for grown ups.Im ust say that is a compliment getter,really weird.The mint,the vanille and the lavander are the push of this fragrance,so if you love them,buy it as it has the trademark power of the Lapidus house.

Beautiful and well blended, long lasting oriental. The lavender and vanilla work really well in Pour Lui. Later on the sandalwood comes forward with a gorgeous patchouli note. This is similar to Bogart pour Homme and I notice that Maurice Roucel blended both of them. This juice has excellent silage and is lovely fragrance with a great deal of masculine character. Pour Lui is special.

I get soft sweetness I assume is vanilla. I will have to give this one more wearings but my father says it smells "charming" and that he never smelled anything as good as this in my collection. I have to admit it does smell good on him. Perhaps it's one of those scents that smell better to others around you.

As every Lapidus this one has also a big brother. It's clearly Le Male. While Le Male is a maritime fragrance this one is more gourmand due to the high dose of lavender vanilla. But the base shows the same DNA as Le Male. Also similar to Jacomo Rouge. The projection and lasting power is almost on par.

TL Pour Lui is a treasure trove. One of the best vanilla-based fragrances, offering a perfect combination of mint, lavender, orange blossom and an exquisite caramelized vanilla. Good sillage and excellent longevity in my skin. A great work of subtlety and elegance of Monsieur Roucel. 9/10

This is very similar to Versace Dreamer, but more masculine. It has the same kind of cozy-spicy-dreamy vibe but with an added fougere feel. The vanilla is far back in the drydown, but you can smell the sweetness all along. Nice quality, vintage feel (while dreamer is more modern)

Lapidus Lui has a similar note breakdown to Caron Pour Homme so I wanted to give it a try. Where Caron has lavender as the star and is more natural smelling, TL Lui highlights vanilla more and has slight sweetness. I prefer the Caron but this is very nice as well.

TL pour Lui is a very high concentrated edT. It last for very long. I can smell the vanilla - lavender combination in there. Nothing for the office, it's more an evening scent. But don't expect something outstanding. It's throughout moderate.

I like this...it's like a muted Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier 2, so could easily be unisex, and isn't an man's scent. I'm 36 and think it smells youthfully sugary, lol. Mild and good for the office & daytime use.
