White Ginger

There is a hint of ginger and green notes, but subtle. I’m picking up gardenia in this. Nice scent, but it is now discontinued, as this organic brand is shuttered. Too bad, some of their fragrances were amazing. Look to Dame perfumery or Olivine for a realistic fabulous gardenia.

This fragrance opens up with a rush of rich heady white florals, no synthetic feel. Reminds me of the rainforest in Maui where white ginger grows wild. The last day of my trip I scrambled to find the perfume version and found this beauty online. Gorgeous fragrance.

I have the perfume essence of this and it is incredible. Wear this if you want to stand out, be unique. Not everyone can pull this scent off, but if you do, you'll be rewarded!

Today I am wearing TerraNova White Ginger for the first time. Since my favorite perfume is Origins Ginger Essence, I hoped for a similar scent: citrus, spiciness, and ginger root. I just read that this perfume is based on the ginger flower not the root, but since I have never smelled the flower, I don't know if this rendition is accurate or not. It doesn't project much, but I like that. I will wear it for a change sometimes when I am in the mood for a kind, calm, soft white floral. * Note: This single flower scent felt too mature on me, I tried it several times. I gave it to my mother, who remembers ginger flower fondly from her trip to Hawaii. My father adores it on her, so I will buy her the full size for mother's day.

I picked this up during a visit to Maui last year. I know plumeria is the more famous Hawaiian scent, but this one really captured the atmosphere of my trip. It is light, feminine, and casual. Yes, it's quite linear and simple, but after moving to LA, I found that I can't keep wearing Coco, Mitsouko, or Shalimar anymore. They are far too heavy for the desert climate, and the white ginger scent is perfect for the arid, cloudless days of Southern California.
