Noorolain Taif

I came on here to say that this fragrance is the more sophisticated version of toyboy by Moschino but I saw @BarakLa comment and I couldn't agree more. If you expect a straight up taif rose smell this is not it don't get me wrong it has some elements of the taif rose but it's nothing like a pure taif oil, it's a great mix of taif rose, other florals notes, and woody notes acting like oud (maybe it's real oud idk) mixed with pepper that gives it a masculine edge (if u r insecure with a smoll pp and scared of roses this is a good start for u to try a rose fragrance).

Royal Oud + rose, proving once again that Thameen creates high-end yet highly derivative fragrances. It's very good, but if you have the Creed there's no need for this. Edit: Okay, I was a tad harsh. In the opening I get spicy green woody rose, which soon becomes spicy smoky woody rose. But the spicy smoky woody part is pretty much Royal Oud, so it's Royal Oud + rose. It's quite good and well-made, and perhaps there's a need for this considering the headache-inducing issues with Creed's batch inconsistencies, but it's still derivative. And very expensive.

A classy and highly sophisticated Floriental showcasing a nice Taif rose. The perfume opens with aromatic notes of pink pepper and coriander before moving into the heart of Taif rose and slight jasmine. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of mostly cashmere wood and synthetic musk but also showing hints of agarwood and amber. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. A must try for rose lovers, many similarities to Ormonde Jayne’s Rose Gold. This is dreamy. Enjoy!

Very well done oud scent with plenty of pepper and floral notes. Good performance, but never loud. Professional and classy. The oud in this is not the dark/heavy style (Montale, et al), but lighter and more subtle - almost tea-like. Lovers of Creed Royal Oud should certainly give this one a try.

Please pay no attention to Mohsen95 scoring. Check all his comments and you'll find out what a joke this person is. Noorolain Taif is beautiful IMO, get a sample, test it, make your own mind. Superb quality.

The smell is really long lasting. it stayed on my skin for 2 days. I know it differs from one person to another. The spicy effect gives it a very nice twist.

I never had taif rose before although it has attracted the buzz lately.. But this one is a great one.. Not many in the market with taif rose

I can see the royal oud comparisons but this is pretty different from that fragrance. The rose added almost takes the fragrance into a figgy/woody scent profile. At times I smell more cedar, at times more rose. I like it altogether, it’s a pleasant fragrance. Has moderate projection and staying power on my skin.

Gorgeous blend of roses and pink pepper with impressive longevity. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as a safe blind buy, as it might be too strong for some.

Taif rose comes from the Taif plateau in Saudi Arabia and belongs to the Damask rose family. The high altitude and strong day–night temperature differences concentrate the scent of the roses grown there. This type of rose smells dense and full, with a mix of honeyed sweetness and a subtle spiciness. In Noorolain Taif, the rose is the most noticeable element. It has a clear presence, and the spicy nuance stays intertwined with the floral note. The heart does not change much. The scent remains within the range of rose and soft spices, keeping a stable direction. The drydown introduces oud and a touch of warm amber. Longevity is moderate, and projection is average.

Taif rose to my nose is more like a mix between peony and rose hips, quite creamy and comforting. I would call it a mom scent, having this warmth and hugging material. That being said, I don't think I fall into this nice and cozy category of womanhood/femininity.

I identified this a Royal Oud clone instantly. A high quality clone, but a clone nonetheless. I think the notes on this is are intentionally misleading. If you look at their other clone of Oud Wood, they do the something similar with the notes. This is also marketed to women, many of which probably don't make a habit of sampling Creed RO, or many other masculine scents for that matter, so they wouldn't automatically make the obvious connection. It will be unique to them, but it's certainly not to me. Anyway, I'll step down from my soap box and review this fragrance. Opening is 99% Creed RO, as it goes on I can detect a little more sweetness than RO and a bit of rose. The final drydown is 90% RO, with less cedar, a little more sweetness, and a little rose. Conclusion: Royal Oud is better than this and lasts longer. I won't support this brand if they're making nearly 1:1 clones. I respect Christopher Chong, and hopefully he can come in and give them some originality. They have the quality part down, but their marketing shell games make me question their moral compass. And yes, I'm aware that everyone has a clone or a twist on other popular fragrances. But the note shenanigans and just how close this is to RO, give me a feeling of intentional deception imo. HOWEVER, Royal Oud is damn expensive, so if you want something similar for less, this is the best clone I've encountered.

@beata4u2 - thank you for mentioning the OVERPOWERING black pepper note - I've only had this for a week or two but the black pepper note is pretty much all I am getting - it completely drowns out anything else. Since it's a new arrival I sprayed it out and put it away for now - hoping the rose will start to peek out. Anyone else have this experience? Did it improve with a few weeks of maturing? UPDATE July 29, 2026 - I gave it another month and a half, to see if it improved. The black pepper smoothed out the tiniest bit (but I don't want to smell like JUST BLACK PEPPER) 😢-please DON'T buy this without testing. This is NOT a rose-forward scent. This fragrance is LINEAR and all you get is an EXTREMELY OVERPOWERING BLACK PEPPER NOTE. Also, I own Rose de Petra and there is no similarity between the two. Rose de Petra is an effervescent "gingerale-like" rose and Noorolain Taif IS BLACK PEPPER - you won't be able to discern much else. That was my first and last Thameen purchase. I've finally hit the point where $150 plus wasted on a tiny bottle of something I will never be able to wear tells me this brand is either deliberately misleading consumers or frankly doesn't care about quality control. I mean how do you put that much black pepper into a fragrance - intentional or not . ONLY BUY THIS IF YOU WANT TO SMELL LIKE BLACK PEPPER.

قد يستوقف اسم العطر عدد كبير ممن سيسمع به، لكنه لن يكون غريبا على من يعرف مدينة الطائف وزارها ورآها بعينه فهي بوابة الجنوب للمملكة العربية السعودية، والحلقة الأولى في سلسلة جبال عسير، وكل من يقصدها خاصة من ساكني مدن شمالها "مكة – جدة .." سيكون على يقين بأنه سيودع الطقس الحار الرطب الخانق مع أول نسمات الطائف المحملة بعبق الورود والفاكهة والمروج الخضراء. نور العين الطائف هو أحد أجمل عطور دار ثمين الرائعة، بل أجده أيضا من أجمل العطور التي وظفت الورد الطائفي بحرفية عالية. فعلى الرغم من روعة وجمال وفتنة الورد الطائفي إلا أنه قد لا يكون مستساغا للجميع بسبب قوته المفرطة ولذوعته ودسامته الطاغية رشة من عطر نور العين على يد، ومسحة من خلاصة الورد الطائفي على اليد الأخرى، سيكونا كفيلين لمعرفة كم هو رائع هذا عطر من ثمين مغامرة كبرى أن تمهد لدخول النوتة الزهرية التي هي اساس العطر بنوتة تابلية قوية من الفلفل الأسود ولكنني أكتشفت مع عطر نور العين أن الفلفل الأسود عنصر قوي ومؤثر للغاية في تحفيز الانتباه وهذا هو الدور المطلوب منه والذي لعبه ببراعة شديدة، لكن لم يكتف مؤلف العطر بحرارة الفلفل الأسود بل زادها سخونة مع الدفع بالكزبرة التابلية الحارة التي تميل رائحتها للنوتة الخشبية إلى هذه النقطة أشعر أنني أكتب تقريرا عن أحد عطور آندي تاور أو سيرجي لوتانس الشرقية التابلية. غير أن وجود الفلفل الوردي بهذه الكثافة الكبيرة نجح في قلب الموازيين من الميل للتابلية الحارة المشتعلة إلى جهة الدفء والبهجة "لكم أعشق وجود الفلفل الوردي في افتتاحية أي عطر بل وأعلق على وجوده آمالا كبيرة" من كان يظن أنه سيبدأ في استنشاق عبير الورد الطائفي يزاحم ثلاثي الافتتاحية التابلية القوية فهو لا يعرف الورد الطائقي بشكل دقيق فما ستستقبله أنفك في قلب العطر الزهري هو الورد التركي وليس الطائفي ولست ادري من هو الأنف المؤلف لهذا العطر لأتقدم إليه بتحية وتهنئة كبيرين فالبدء بالورد الطائفي بعد النوتة التابلية كان سيجعل العطر صادما لدسامة الورد الطائفي وشدته. أما الورد التركي الأقرب رائحة للورد الطائفي لكن مع وجود لمحات من الانتعاش والشعور بالحركة والبهجة الموجودة في الورد البلغاري كان هو المكون السحري لمساعدة الفلفل الوردي في كبح جماح النوتة التابلية القوية من جهة وفي التمهيد الرائع لاستقبال موكب الورد الطائفي في كامل فخامته الآن ستشعر وكأن الورد الطائفي قد تربع على عرش هذا العطر في وضح نهار ربيعي دافيء مشمس، وقد نثروا الياسمين الأبيض من تحت قدميه. فالنوتة التابلية في أعلى العطر والياسمين في نهاية قلبه قد احتضنا الورد الطائفي بدفء وحنان تماما كما تفعل الأمهات بصغارهن. سيدوم هذا الدفء لفترة كافية لأن تخرج أروع ما في الورد الطائفي من فتنة وجمال ولكن دون لذوعة حارقة أو دسم ثقيل. قد يتوهم البعض خروج رائحة العود سريعا إلى حيز الأضواء ولكن مع التدقيق والتمعن ستدرك أن حرفية مؤلف العطر في المزج بين الفلفل الأسود والكزبرة مع الفلفل الوردي قد امتصا دسم الورد الطائفي لتخرج رائحة قريبة من رائحة دهن العود الفواح الغير معتق. وبهذا يكون دخول العود في قاعدة العطر قد مهد له على أكمل وجه واستطيع أن أقول أن خلاصة عمل الأنف لعطر نور العين تكمن في بذله أقصى ما يمكن بذله من حنكة وبراعة في إخراج المكونين الأساسيين المترفين لهذا العطر "الورد الطائفي والعود" في أبهى صورة غير مسبوقة. وأعتقد أنه قد وفق ونجح في هذا الأمر بشكل مبهر. الأخشاب الكشميرية والعنبر الكهرمانئ الدافئين أيضا في القاعدة هما عاملين مكملين للجو والإطار العام لهذا العطر الأكثر من الرائع الجمال والتميز والنقاء: 10/10 الثبات: أكثر من 12 ساعة على البشرة الفوحان: يمتد لثلاث ساعات بشكل ممتاز التقييم العام: 9.5/10

Sampled this many years ago and it was lovely. Finally purchased a full bottled few weeks ago and i’ve been testing it out. I’ve seen previous reviews comparing this to royal oud but i fail to see the similarities, Noorolain Taif is predominantly a rose fragrance, Taif Rose to be precise (hence the naming of the fragrance). However, i must say this is one of the best rose fragrances i have smelled and would have to give the scent profile a solid 9/10. Going to the performance is where i’ve been a bit confused in my testing. Initial projection is massive for the first 30 minutes (pushng to an hour) but then it turns to a skin scent probably around 5-6 hours mark, so I cant call this beast mode. 8hours at the most with regards performance.

This scent opens on beautiful note of rose, depth of oud, woody notes and jasmine. I really enjoyed the opening. It was rich, complex, unusual. The pepper was in the background. But, unfortunately the longer I wore it the less I liked it, as after about half an hour or so all I could smell was a rose on a bed of crushed pepper. Very, very black strong pepper. Another issue - the scent was gone within 3-4 hours. A bit too fast for a price of £175 - 50 ml. In London it can be found in Selfridges. I wonder how it will develop on others?

A sharp, astringent & earthy rose. Some sweeter, candied facets as well. There's this peppery, cedarwoody base underneath that just barely manages to be noticeable. Don't know if it really is the best combo for a rose-dominant scent but I'll take it over another bad rose-oud scent. Quite pleasant! Ps. Don't know why they decided to name it Taif instead of just rose, it really doesn't resemble taif rose to me.

I love Taif Rose, its so unique and never found anywhere in this planet except Saudi Arabia. I was so exited to try Thameen just to sniff some taif rose. I was so disappointing because this perfume didn't deliver the right feeling of Taif rose. I realize that its my mistake. I feel mixing any notes with taif rose is a guilt because i love pure taif rose with no other notes to overlap or to be mixed with.

It has a carrot seed scent that reminds me of Chanel's NO.18. Or maybe the two peppers and Cashmeran is giving me an illusion. I can detect Cashmeran at the top and is also working well, not overwhelming. and a sweet rose that somehow works very well, though I didn't think they would go together at all. Quite a nice rose and woody scent.

The niche version of Toy Boy! Exactly the same scent profile. A little sweeter and rounder, If you like Toy Boy but want to remove the harsh synthetic edges in the drydown, this is PERFECT. Does remind me as well as Cartier Dun Soir thanks to the sweeter opening, I image if you mix the two this is what you get, straight down the middle.
