Palace Oud

A scent to treasure, savor and cherish for a lifetime this incredible offering from Thameen is an unbridled exercise in the finest modern perfumery has to offer. The woody Oriental scent opens with a beautiful creamy sandalwood and a luscious Taif rose. As it starts evolving one can detect Lebanese cedar and jasmine. The perfume settles on a bed of fossilized amber and very high quality aged Hindi oud (which has no skanky facet at all). The unisex scent has incredible sillage and longevity and a few drops are enough to lull your senses into a blissful state. Although the scent is very traditional in its construction, it shines because of the absolute best quality of the natural ingredients used. A crowning jewel in any perfume collection both because of the utter beauty of the scent and it’s presentation in a beautifully crafted heavy crystal bottle, this is sophisticated luxury at its finest.

I’m not an oud fan. It’s a smell I can take or leave, but mainly leave to be honest. That burnt plastic, BandAid thing that oud can do leaves me cold. Then I tried Palace Oud. Every oud I’ve tried before this had got it wrong. This is exquisite. Really. I detect lovely aldehydes in this too, like a vintage Chanel No. 5 or similar. The scent is very complex. I wish this perfume came in an ordinary flacon. The price would be significantly less. Until I become rich and foolish, I’ll just be content being foolish for the thought of Palace Oud. Le sigh.

Smelled this from the bottle at Selfridges London last night and OMG it smelled incredible. I could instantly smell Taif rose and creamy sandalwood. Those were the two most potent notes. The price for the bottle was over GBP£2.5k, so well beyond my budget, but I had a momentary glimpse of heaven!

@Cxavenoir sorry for your loss 😞 There are no Thameen refills of Palace Oud The Thameen Palace Oud page clearly states they only have 100 bottles of the aged Rose-Oud, if you used your credit card get a refund because you were a victim of a Scam
