I smelled this on a tester strip a while back in store, and thought ‘Nah this is too close BR540’ (which I didn’t use to like). Fast forward to last month, I walked by the same store and thought let me try it on my hand, as Thameen fragrances are known for reacting differently on skin than on paper, as soon as I tried I instantly fell in love and so did my mom. The scent is sweet, airy, feminine and sophisticated. I will say this is the same family as BR540 but it goes in a different direction with the aldehydes and rose. It can be worn for most occasions, maybe not so much for work if you sit close to other people as it projects. I have been playing with it and have found some great layering combos with amazing perfumes such as Lamar, Delina La Rosée, Bal d’Afrique... it’s a winner in my book 😉

Many thanks to the ladies working in the duty free shop of Larnaca airport, they introduced me this very special and delicious fragrance. I really regret that I didn't buy it there then, because I bought 2 Kilian and I've already tested many perfumes. When I got home, from the many samples, I liked this one the best, both on paper and on my skin. I definitely have to buy it, the most unique, highly variable, beautiful drydown niche perfume. I finally bought it, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and unique scent I've ever had. Besides Kurkdjian, by Kilian, Thameen has become my favorite perfume house, I want to get to know all Thameen fragrances.

I have owned this for a few months. It was a love at first sniff when I tested it in winter, but also I could feel that it didn't quite have enough "weight" to be something I'd really enjoy in the colder months. This is a stunning springtime rose! Absolutely enchanting to me. The orange blossom brings out the beauty of the rose even more... And that ambery-musk base makes the whole composition so comfy and delightful! It projects a ton for the first hour, then settles down a bit, but stays quite strong. Longevity is way better than I expected. Huge love for this lovely rose fragrance!

I heard a Youtuber say Patiala is MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540 and Gentle Fluidity Gold combined into a bar of soap and I can see why. It’s a light and airy floral with citrus and I’m guessing the orange blossom and aldehydes give it the soapiness. Patiala is pleasant and unique. A rich smell...perfect for warmer months and fall. I’m not sure who the perfumer is but similar to a below comment, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was made by MFK. Longevity is moderate and sillage is a little more than moderate. This is my first Thameen purchase. I LOVE it.

Patiala is a gorgeous fragrance, even while wearing it in the winter. The aldehydes are really tamed so that the floral and citrus notes shine. It does however, remind me more of Trajan in the opening and BR450 in the dry down to my nose. Leaves an alluring sillage and was highly complimented. I actually prefer to wear Trajan during this Spring and Summer. Patiala is a beautiful floral that I think I will reserve during the Fall and Winter months, but you can most certainly wear it all year round.

This to me is the most beautiful fragrance from the house. It’s a warm velvety floral, very opulent but also uncomplicated and understandable. I was at Osswald today testing Thameen and Sospiro, and of all 6 fragrances I sprayed on my arm, this one spoke to me the most. I had such a nostalgia for it but I couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from. It took me a while to realize I used to own something almost exactly like this - Widian II. Both are beautiful - I love them!

Undeniably BR 540 inspired on the opening. Airy rose, amber, some citrus. It's lighter than BR 540, more warm weather appropriate. Sweet, fairly complex, rich smelling. Longevity was not great for me. 5-6 hours, max. Settled down to a skin scent in the first hour. Fairly unisex, although it probably leans feminine. Good for evening/date night. Edit after multiple wearings: 8.25/10. Much better longevity, classy BR 540 lite. Great warm weather date scent.

Gorgeous scent. If BR540 and Angel' Share had a baby, this would be it. There's a pineapple note that is prominent and I love it. It leans on a more sweet side but it's definitely not immature sweetness. This can be unisex easily. It lasts all day. I went to 3 stores with it on and people were following me or would stand beside me when I finally realized it was because of the perfume.

This is one of the most gorgeous feminine scent I’ve ever smelled. Rose and orange blossom, smells so beautiful and clean, like a perfect bride scent. Easily the best from the thameen house . Wouldn’t say it’s safe to wear on a man Overall- 9.6/10

Wow. Gorgeous rose and musk, swirled in the BR 540-style burnt sugar and amber. Long lasting and particularly beautiful - it may be the only scent I’ve felt such a pang of regret on realizing it's too feminine for me to wear.

If I had to choose just one perfume for the rest of my life,it would Thameen Patiala. I want all the fragrances, but IF I had to... it's this. I feel like Galadriel from LOTR when I wear this.

Regal fragrance for a woman who knows she’s a queen. Love it !

First Impressions: A clean and fresh rose chypre for those of us who don’t want patchouli. Seeing the comparisons to BR540 and Atomic Rose, I expected this to be significantly sweeter. But, I don’t get much sweetness at all. This feels serious and mature. It’s office or church appropriate if sprayed lightly. The aldehydes are soft and citrusy, they’re not sharp or piercing like aldehydes can sometimes be. I get more rose than orange blossom. And, for me the base is mostly oakmoss with a little clean (not sweet) amber. Patiala very much reminds me of a scent I’ve smelled on an older woman before, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s nothing that’s currently in the ‘Reminds Me’ section, something more in the realm of vintage Chanel, Lancôme or Estée Lauder. Patiala is extremely well blended and smooth, and the quality is on par with Thameen as a brand.

A light and friendly patchouli rose up front. Airy with clean aldehydes and a sweet orange glaze gently brushed on. Though the freshness quickly fades to a warmer ambery base, with barely-there indolic undertones, the aldehydes steadily intensify and get more soapy over time. Sweet rosy soap. Soft white florals join the rose as it dries down. Moderately strong projection for 5-6hr, longevity 12hr+. This isn't that similar to BR540, but I can see how the airy aldehydes in the opening give that sort of impression. I liken it more to Atomic Rose, if you replaced the vanillic drydown with soapiness.

A nicely done rose chypre that is pleasant and inoffensive but not hugely impressive. The scent opens with a fresh burst of citruses, aldehydes and orange flower leading to the lovely natural rose heart. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of oakmoss, synthetic musk and amber. The unisex scent has moderate projection and good longevity. There are others like this out there but this makes for an easy reach and can be worn in any season any setting. Enjoy!

Gorgeousness! Such a beautiful blended mix that not one note stands out above another. You can smell all the notes listed in ONE sniff. Beautifully cohesive, nothing harsh. No better way to describe it myself. It's floral, sweet, fresh, uplifting. And it lasts super long on my skin as well as clothes. Total love. ❤️

This is a nice rose scent. I'll use up my sample but I'm not sure I would buy. I want it SO BAD because I love the bottle, but I need to calm down and focus on the scent profile lol. It's nice, and out of all the Thameens I have smelled this would be my favorite but it's still not making me pull out my wallet.

loved this as a sample and bought a full bottle, but somehow it's not as airy as it was in the sample. maybe i got a defect of either, but it smells like a blend of bf540/delina/when the rain stops. wish it smelled like it's own thing tho...

it was love at first sniff. So classy and elegant smell that I can't stop sniffing my arms. I just can't seem to know why this one doesn't last long, and the scent doesn't project well enough. Do I need to macerate this one first?

BR 540 with a more rosey floral twist. reminds me of Baniyas and Atomic Rose. nice and like the floral differentiation but def a me too scent.

At the beginning, I thought I got a classic rose-patchouli combo, but there is no patchouli in the list, and this ambitious entrance dissipated over time. Then it slowly started to turn into an amber scent with candied sugar. At this point, it gives the same feeling as BR540, only it doesn't have the first aid scent. A single spray filled almost the whole house, very very strong! Unfortunately I'm not into burnt candied sugar roses, but if anyone is a fan of BR540, they might prefer this instead.

Here I thought I had found a great fragrance for Spring... Well, I didn’t. Patiala is a complete disappointment for me as it smells far too aldehydic and pungent to my nose, I just can’t. The dry down pulls too masculine on my skin and to be honest, I get a faint whiff of unwashed feet in the background from this...like, what the hell? I don’t know if I should let it settle or rest for a little bit? But I am definitely tempted to declutter it right about now💀

Patiala is an airy sweet rose based on some soft green oak moss and warm ambery orange blossom. Sadly, the surrounding notes of warmth and softness fade out in the dry down leaving only hints of sweet rose. I am partial to rosewater-scented fragrances more than to sweet jammy roses, and Patiala makes a great first impression. The drydown however is disappointingly bland.

Very jammy, bright, and fruity fragrance. A bit too sweet for me but I can imagine many wearing and loving this scent in warmer seasons.

For me rose and oakmoss is never a good a combination, unfortunately on me it is kind of 'sour', 'leathery', hard to explain but i do not like the result, it is just strange, not in a good way. This parfum reminds me of Rose Hubris from Ex Nihilo and for some reason also of Hermés Galop de Hermes (even they do not share the same ingredients).

The fragrance smells fresh and very citrussy which I usually enjoy but unfortunately I don't really like this as it smells very sour and nauseating on my skin. Great performance though but not a safe blind buy.

my first visit to The Scent Room led me to this beautiful perfume. as soon as one of the staff knew i like rose notes in my perfumes, she grabbed this off the shelf and made sure i try it. that particular afternoon, patiala was a bright and a daytime fresh-out-the-shower perfume, dewy and lush. i normally don't prefer bright and aldehydic perfumes, but this seemed a tad more earthy though barely noticeable. tried it again as a decant and now i enjoy this almost incense note during the first layers that i find quite addicting juxtaposed with the bright citrusy rose (i promise the rose doesn't actually smell like a someone squeezed a lemon onto it or anything, there's just a vitamin c factor to it that i can't explain 😅). it's a bright rose. not plush, not jammy, not nocturnal, not gothic, not romantic, not earthy, not damp, not even a sweet or candied rose. but it is addictive. a perfume that seems to create an atmosphere and not just a scent.🌹 the opening is immediately pleasant and enveloping. it's a bright, performative perfume. not subtle or skinlike, but it's so dewy and soft that even if i didn't make this one of my signature perfumes, i'd find this one beautiful on others. the citruses help to brighten the perfume instead of becoming a detectable note. the floral notes while rosy for sure, seem more complex with orange blossom adding a warmth and more nuanced profile. i think oakmoss and amber in the drydown are the perfect anchoring base notes to this otherwise very light and airy beauty of a perfume. will be purchasing a full bottle and adding to my signature perfumes. 🌹

This reeks! Yuck! Just no! It’s horrible. I have owned BR540 Extrait, and didn’t like it. This takes the cake though. Suddenly, BR540E isn’t so bad afterall! Where is the comparison to Delina and Atomic Rose coming from? There is absolutely no comparison whatsoever to those beautiful fragrances! I ordered a sample of Thameen and got this instead! Straight to the rubbish bin. Update: I must hang my head low in shame! Lesson learned as well. When you buy a 1ml dabber, you are really buying nothing at all! You can’t spray to get the full effect, you can maybe wear it once, and that is just not enough to test properly. This fragrance is quite lovely. Unfortunately it got stuck in the 1ml dabber transferred to sprayer which lasted one wear. Then I kept sniffing the cap once the juice was long gone, - so an old, tired drydown. I had the wherewithal to open the container and dab on some remnants of the fragrance and that overturned my opinion. Also, it is now approaching winter, the right time to test this fragrance that I first tried in the throes of summer! I am always learning and growing from my mistakes.

It's been a long time since I had a "love at first snif" moment and I just had it after 1 spray of Patiala. This is beautiful! I agree with the reviewer below (Ansarit) - this would make a perfect bridal scent! This is as feminine as it gets, I can't see a man wearing this. I can't agree with the "reminds me of" section though. Sure, you get that BR540 DNA in the opening, that airy fluffy clowd. But you also have aldehydes and rose and sweet orange blossom. Don't think old lady scent, think ethereal and angelic. It's not nearly as gourmand burned sugar sweet as BR540 or for your love (more floral), not nearly as fruity sweet as Greenwich village (more floral), not nearly as tart and rose heavy as Delina or atomic rose (the orange blossom takes it in a different direction), not nearly as vanilic as gentle fluidity gold (though it has a comparable fluffy-ness), not nearly as light and musky as lust in paradise. I own all of those scents as well (yes I have a problem) and I think I prefer this. At least as a first impression. I will update my review if this were to change.

Opens with fresh sweet roses, then transitions into a citrussy, snow-still-on-the-evergreen-trees moss territory. The aldehydes and musk give it an icy feeling, with an intensely soapy touch. Also, I don't know why I smell it- but there's something in here that smells faintly fecal or indolic. Possibly the orange blossom. Leans a bit masculine. Patiala is okay, but it's a pass for me as I don't find it extraordinary for either men or women, despite the namesake and its history. This smells as if you entered a bathroom that's been freshly sanitized after someone "dropped off their kids at the community pool" and there's rose potpourri on the sink. Or as if someone with halitosis took a swig of mouth wash and at the same time, sprayed rose perfume on themselves and the combination of it all is what you get.

This fragrance is beautiful, I immediately fell in love the first time I smelled it. However, when I tried it on skin, somehow the magic went away. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but this scent smells so familiar to me and... maybe a bit generic? Done before? Either way, I have most definitely smelt this DNA before. No, I don't find it similar to Baccarat Rouge (in fact I hate how any scent with a ~slight~ airy base gets instantly compared to BR540) but yes it does have an airy base to a sweet rose. I really love this scent but the more I smell it the more generic it feels to me. I can't deny that I did fall in love with it initially, but for me I'm not sure it's worth the investment.

Patiala is just lovely. In general I find fragrances from Thameen refined and elegant. I love the blue bottles. The notes in this beauty are just as described. The opening is bright and sparkles. The rose shows through, which adds elegance and maturity. The base is sweet and alittle crisp. She needs to be tested on skin and allowed to express herself before buying, unless you know you love a rose chype. I wear this in the day or evening, and really only feel like it works for me on cooler days. I wouldn’t consider this office safe, others might find it offensive or strong.

Saffron, white musk, waxy white florals, aldehydes, amber and a hint of cocounut milk. Very MFK, there's something in here that I really remember from one of the lighter offerings from them. Quite pleasant to the nose, if not a bit too sweet. Even so, I would consider this to be a quite refreshing fragrance because of the white musk giving it a newly washed cleanliness.

Can anyone share what this perfume smells like once it’s gone off? I received a bottle that smells very different from In store ( can’t find out what year it was purchased) concerned it may be fake. Any advice on Thameen? Also can anyone share a pic of the bottle without lid? To see if the sprayer is the same? Much appreciated

Sweet patchouli rose with a subtle fresh orange blossom. Has a medicinal alcohol/iodine vibe at its base. Nothing special, and not my favourite rose from the brand, it's lovely nonetheless, but I quickly go anosmic to it. Source: Official 2ml Sample Date of Purchase: 14/3/2025

Patiala comes across as a "neo-chypre" (a bit too "neo" for me to wear, personally). She's fizzy and frothy, juicy and fruity. I find Patiala playful but not juvenile. If you enjoy the Ex Nihilo DNA, you will probably like this.

This is a beautiful rose-amber combination that is transparent and perfect for daytime wear, all year round. The transparent sweetness in this fragrance is beautifully feminine. This will be my first purchase from this house.

Wonderful long lasting fragrance from Thameen. When I received my sample from Selfridges, I knew A full bottle was in my future. It lasted 6+ on my skin. Amber Room is a close 2nd on my favorites from this house.

Too sweet, Baccarat resembling perfume on my skin. The difference is that you can percwive here more citruses and roses, but this is nothing special for me. Seems to have good projection and lasting power.

Opens as the original Smarties candy-roll soaked in a bleach bucket -- upon dry down transforms into what I imagine a rose scented Windex glass cleaner would smell like. Nauseating, unfortunately.

Gahhhhh so disappointed. Thought this could be my holy grail (Delina + baccarat!?) yes pls. But no. It reminds me of Lush Rose Jam after the drydown and a pretty fresh rose fragrance throughout.
