English Dawn White Gardenia

English Dawn Gardenia is absolutely worth of buying and enjoying in the spring and summer daytime. Very lovely, ladylike, classic smelling gardenia without any other white floral interfering. There is no tuberose here don't worry. Also there is no lily of the valley; its the green notes used in both gardenia and lily of the valley perfumes that play tricks to your noses. Green, creamy and delicious. As a solifloral it lasted for four hours and stayed close to the skin. Personally I'm more of a jasmine/tuberose girl, but lately I'm trying to appreciate gardenia more, and this one surprised me. One weird thing (that could be in my head though and not real) that I've noticed is an undernote of "blood" developing, which I find very interesting and not at all disturbing. I will need a bottle. Yes, yes, yes.

i am baised toward this EDT becuase i brought it at half a price! This EDT reminds me of the opening of Michael Michael Kors (maybe it is the tuberose and gardenia note). This is a linear frangrance but it is fine for me becuase i like the scent, tuberose and gardenia being my favouite flowers. It lasts more than 3 hours with some sillage, esp in cooler weather. So good enough for me and for this price, i am going to stock up!

I like white flowers in general so it doesn't surprise me that I fall in love with this one. The floral scent is not overly sweet, it is very refreshing and elegant. Just as its name suggests, I can imagine an elegant lady in a white dress standing in the garden. Absolutely beautiful.

My wife's favourite scent. Anything with gardenia in is a hit but this just stands out. She thinks it disappears after 2-3 hours but I can smell it after 6 hours easily.

A delicious floral bouquet of tuberose, gardenia, a hint of citrus and a hint of woods at the end. It makes me think of young romance, running through the field in the golden hour with a white lace dress on. Cheesy, but true. I just blind bought this based on the notes listed here and your good reviews, and I'm very happy I did! I think this will be a wonderful fragrance to wear to a spring wedding this year - it's a very "pretty" fragrance. I think I typically go for more mysterious or sophisticated scents, but I really, really like this regardless. It's light, comfortable and fresh, won't overpower your workmates or Aunt Beth sitting next to you at the wedding. Lasts OK on me, maybe an hour or two, depending if I've moisturised...however my skin is notoriously stubborn and dry and does not hold on to fragrance well. This may last better on others. Overall, I quite like this one!

I went to the Body Shop to choose a gift for my friend and ended up buying this gorgeous spring/summer scent for myself. Dazzlingly floral with a hint of citrus, citrus peel and some green notes on the top. I like those juicy, a bit sour and bitter notes, they add a lot of elegance to the perfume. Later it becomes slightly powdery and sensual like a whisper from a tempting, winking boudoir beauty. Classic but still playful. I think it's perfect for spring and summer, for sunny days and warm romantic evenings. Fresh, careless and happy scent!

English Dawn White Gardenia is a bright silky white flower bouquet. Fresh, but there isn't any pronounced green element. Creamy, but not buttery heavy. After about 30 minutes, it loses most part of its initial dynamic and becomes a sort of white flower lotion smell with a slightly tart fruity edge and some musk. The sillage is soft and the longevity is around 4 hours. EDWG is fresh and pretty, but not necessarily a realistic gardenia. If you just want a simple and enjoyable white flower fragrance, EDWG is a relatively affordable option.

I love the idea of gardenia perfume but often hate it because it often makes me feel nauseated. However, this perfume has a certain freshness to it. It's perfect for every occasion and it always makes me feel so good putting it in the morning. Dawn has always been my favorite time of the day and this reminds me of a dewy English garden, quiet in the morning, full of beautiful flowers.

This was a lovely gardenia scent I had years ago and gifted to my daughter. Interestingly it reminded me of Davidoff Echo although the two perfumes have no common notes. I don't know whether it's discontinued or not but it's no longer available in my country.

This smells so clean and light and white flowers - I'm surprised. I didn't expect it to smell so light and fresh looking at the bottle design. I love how this turn out. This is super non offensive and I am waiting for sale ^-^

fresh floral without sweet scents its perfect. the first floral scent i like most than the tbs jasmine one and the scnd is moringa. for daily, i repurchae some mist bottle. if you like scents of pure floral, its maybe suit you

Beautiful. So far my favorite from the body shop. Simplistic and elegant scent, floral yet safe and perfect for everyday wear. I'd love to own a bottle of it. Can't say the lasting power is great, but I don't mind it.

Despite tuberose that I don't like, this scent is really nice. Elegant gardenia, a bit of citrus and lots of creamy sandalwood. Ladylike, crisp and refreshing, plus beautiful bottle color.

A beautiful gardenia fragrance, clean, fresh, feminine and so long lasting though it was the body mist that I tested. In the same vein of Kim Kardashian, only better quality!

Once got someone sitting next to me dizzy and nauseated when I wore this fragrance so I decided to wear this only when I am home. I like the scent anyway, very refreshing.

I have a bottle. This is the best of the Scents if the World collection. Very comfortable flowerly scent with a soft woody base, quiet and modest that I like to wear.

I like it, but it is the same smell as the Fijian Water Lotus Eau De Toilette. Or did they put the wrong liquid in the blue bottle?

I do like this version of gardenia! It is a beautiful white floral, but not cloying like some gardenia-heavy scents. There is a lighter fresh component that I enjoy that keeps this from being too old fashioned or musty, maybe it's the lime that does that. I have not had much luck from this line from The Body Shop. I hated both the Fijian Water Lotus and Indian Night Jasmine, for different reasons. This is not a super long lasting scent with great sillage, but for day use in spring it is perfectly suitable.

I don't generally like white florals but this one was ok for me. I emptied a bottle a few years ago, I don't really remember much details apart from the fact that it was a weak, fresh, floral scent.

This is a mystery for me. I do enjoy white flowers, my mom also often gets tuberose for our living room and I love them. However I'm not specifically a fan of white floral fragrances because some of them can be too heady, or too much. I'm not a fragrance expert but I think this is what they meant by indole. Now the weird thing is I like wearing Alien despite reviews saying it's too indolic, while English Dawn & Gardenia... I sprayed it once and I know this is one of those white florals I can't stand. I only smell strong tuberose, and a heady bunch of white flowers that I immediately get nauseous and triggered my v*mit response. Don't worry though, it's a "it's not you, it's me" kind of situation. I haven't tried it as a room spray yet but I feel it'd be great for that (I'm very picky about fragrance I wear but not so much on room fragrances). It also smells more like flowers, not florals if you get what I mean. I can't wear this, but there's no harm for big lovers of white floral to try this scent.

Disappointing....nothing to do with the soothing velvet scent of Gardenia....it's lily of the Valley (I don't like) and some tubereuse...cheap and soapy. Headache after 30 minutes...very chemically. I ordered it also for the blue bottle but unfortunately got the other version .... very dull...this one is going back where it came from.... The fig scent in the green bottle on the other hand is quite good. I happen to own the much more expensive diptique Philosykos and those two are as good as similar.

Got this and the Atlas Rose as The Body Shop had a major discount for this line. The rose one I like, this one I don't. I used it as a room refresher and even so it was a bit unbearable. Tested fine in the store, it's what happens after the first 30 minutes, that's the problem. Now I wouldn't even take it for free. Smells of Curious by Britney Spears, but without the sweetness. It's all gardenia and a bunch of other white florals, it's too linear and headache inducing.

This is not my type of white floral. There's a little bit of slushy sweetness and bitterness in it. I just can't consider it delicious or elegant. I understand that this is just The Body Shop, not some fancy fashion perfume, but still... I knew there would be gardenia in it, but wanted to give it a try anyway.

This smells like cigarettes to me. Does real gardenia smell like cigaretts...? I have no idea what the real flower is supposed to smell like.

As soon as I saw Gardenia and tuberose I thought this would be a Instant love for me. Boy was I wrong! I absolutely hate this fragrance. First off let me say I got the 200 mL body cream off of Mercari. So it is possible that maybe I don’t have the original product but whatever I have smells horrible. I smell no gardenia. I smell no tuberose. And these are my signature sents. I own everything from Madonna’s truth or dare, Sand and Sable, Georgio Beverly Hills, fresh gardenia from Bath and body Works, Oscar de la Renta vintage, Kim Kardashian, just to name a few so needless to say at this point in my fragrance journey I am really into affordable gardenia and tuberose fragrances. To me this smells sour and not sweet and “bubble gum” at all. Smells like some body lotion id get at Dollar GeneraL that’s gone bad. I’m not even going to resell this I’m going to just trash it because I would hate to miss lead anyone else the way I feel I was misled. Total disappointment. The only good thing I can say about this is it is moisturizing I put it on my hands and they are very soft but I can’t stand the smell I have to wash it off. In fact let me go do that right now before I get sick.

Fragrance Review For English Dawn White Gardenia The Body Shop This is a fresh floral gardenia scent, reminiscent of only one fragrance to my memory: Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia. This has a citrusy opening almost like neroli but it's a green bergamot lemon type of scent. The citrus is fresh and wet like morning dew hence the moniker English Dawn. This smells like the morning dew. I've always wanted to wear a fragrance that smells like that fresh cool misty morning air that leaves behind dew on grass and lawns. When I was a child I would get up early just to see that morning mist and smell that dew which fell like droplets on leaves and on bushes and even on the cement. This is a fresh morning scent and a good after shower or bath scent to perk you up. The gardenia note is prominent so you have to like gardenia, wear gardenia and be familiar and intimate with gardenia. I love gardenia and don't find it to be matronly or old fashioned. This is not really a very complex or engaging gardenia. Frankly there are more beautiful and amazing gardenia scents like Tuvache's Jungle Gardenia, Giorgio Beverly Hills, and the new Jungle Gardenia recreation called Natalie Wood. This has a tuberose as well so it's rather big on the white florals. The white floral aroma does not smell like vanilla which surprised me. Usually a white floral bouquet has a heliotrope or vanillin note but this lacks any vanilla or powder. This also does not smell like soap. It's a fresh and soft gardenia to scent your bath with. It's pretty, and invigorating. This perfume should be in your collection if you already have such "bath" type of perfumes like Arpege, L'air du Temps, Chanel No 22, or Rose Water Crabtree Evelyn. Beautiful white flowers coated in morning dew.

If you can't see this in The Body Shop you may have to ask the shop assistants for it.. turns out they still have some but are hiding it in order to push sales of their "latest" other fragrances. I had to insist several times that I would like to test it so they got a tester from the basement or so. Well, I do like gardenia and tuberose fragrances so the warning "but it's really strong" from the well meaning lady was not necessary. Actually, it was a lie because despite spraying many squirts on my arm the fragance evaporated very quickly. Nothing special really. The same day I collected my "Lyn Harris La Fleur" from M&S which I love to bits. Each to their own. Body Shop said that their English Gardenia sold very well around Mothers Day so if you are after it be persistant they still have it but it may not be on the shelf.

The best actress of "english dawn white gardenia film" goes to gardenia. The best supporting actress goes to bergamot n tuberose. I was just joking but actually it is true. I do get a lot of gardenia..whereas tuberose sits politely in the middle of or scattered randomly in a huge bouquet of gardenia. Then comes the citrusy bergamot somewhere in the heart of this perfume. Sillage is moderate.not overpowering. English dawn white gardenia has "fluffy n cotton-like" character. It also smells vintage-like n has that english-like touch. I prefer this one than the previous white gardenia as english dawn smells much better.

I have the body mist and I really enjoy it during the warm months of late spring and summer. Very refreshing scent, like a garden full with blooming white flowers early in the morning, when the petals are not yet opened and the leafs are dewy. Gardenia here is not potent and creamy, but very light and tender. Tuberose is this scent is faint, almost not existing, just a hint of sweet white flower whiffs from time to time. Very subtle, dewy scent. Not soapy, but with that straight-out-of the-shower clean vibe. Perfect for lazy, hot days.

English Dawn White Gardenia - So this is not a super long lasting scent but nonetheless it is extremely pleasant. I bought this after sampling it at the store and thinking omg this is nice, a small transition from alcohol laced sweetness transformed into a creamy clean scent. I found this at a bargain price and I couldn't resist. I love it alone but it is also beautiful addition to my collection as it lends itself well for layering. I tried this with Belle d'Opium and it is a delish combo.

It's pretty but the longevity is abysmal, maybe an hour... two hours if you absolutely bathe in the stuff. Reminds me of a bit of Britney Spears Curious but swap out the magnolia of that one for a sheer gardenia/tuberose accord. Nothing wrong with this but with so many white florals out there on the market and specifically so many gardenia ones, why would you choose this? The bottles of this collection are pretty, that's what persuaded me.

I bought it today and it was marketed as a new scent. The name is English dawn Gardenia and the bottle design has changed too. It's an edt but a weak one. Can't compare with the old version but this new is a careless Gardenia scent with a touch of musk. Nothing complicated, a fresh body spray.

I like it. The OG classic clean fragrance. It’s perfect for after a night-time shower and before a nap. You feel like the most immaculate person in pyjamas when you spray this on at bedtime. It doesn’t last very long (I have the EDT version) however, it’s soothing, soapy and fits the bill.

English Dawn Gardenia is very very similar to discontinued White Gardenia. The moment I took a whiff of this, it made me smile because I knew they brought back White Gardenia. Very happy as I will be getting this next month with my Love Your Body Card birthday discount.

It's nice but boring, quite simple and straightforward...I feel like I've smelled this scent countless times before...I think it reminds me of Burberry London but lighter/simpler and fresher. I prefer Moringa edt.

It is sold out, and the little left are way too costly for 50 ml, the body shop always makes scents that never last, I do not feel it is worth a heavy resale tag, especially with a longevity that is so poor.

This was a heartfelt gift. It surely is a beautiful gardenia....but unfortunatley, the longevity is 1 hour max on me...perhaps I need the whole gift set; shower gel, lotion, in order for it to last.

If you are a fan of gardenia, you will love this fragrance.
