Full Ylang Ylang

I will never regret not trying the other “full” variants from the collection. I just had to grab this instantly to try it and babes I was never wrong about my fragrance choices. Ylang and I were match made. Ylang is my best friend. Ylang is my favorite floral. This one caught my eye because as I was reading the other bottles from the display, they just seemed to be fragrances I’ve already smelled just by reading and without testing them 😭 *read, ugh dismiss, read, dis.missed, read, ad nauseam blah blah* And finally I grabbed this and sprayed it ONCE on my wrist. One sniff was all it took to proclaim that I’d be in love with this fragrance 60 mins after (I was right). It first started as a fresh and slightly bitter banana blossom like smell, it then proceeded to develop into a balmy banana peel, and lastly the fruit in its ripe-sweetness. As it dried down, it started smelling like a pleasantly dirty ylang-ylang. You know how ylang-ylang can smell like straight up cat piss? Well, it wasn’t exactly that but there were some indolic and pissy nuances in it. Ylang-ylang is best when it’s borderline creamy yellow floral and dirty, otherwise it’ll just smell like a sharp urinal cake or worse, straight up cat piss. The more it developed, the better it performed. Projection? Impressive. Longevity? Great. Just when I thought I hated the smell of jasmine, this perfume proved me half-wrong bc this dried down to a very jasmine-like smell with a slightly peppery vanilla + let me just commend how these notes were hella well-blended. Noooowww, I didn’t purchase a full bottle simply because I have a perfume coming up, which is the chloé nomade naturelle. Surprisingly, some people voted ylang in gold as a similar perfume to full ylang, and yes, another perfume that people voted similar to the perfume i mentioned is nomade naturelle. FINGERS CROSSED I HOPE THEY WILL SMELL SIMILAR or else I’ll have to spend for a full bottle of this 😭 (help) anyways, lovee loveeee this perfume so much. Balmy, banana, sweet vanilla, and a dash of pepper. Caramelized jasmine? Umm maybe?!

This is gorgeous!! Full Ylang Ylang is the longest-lasting fragrance from the Full Flower Collection at The Body Shop, in my experience. It’s a sweet, creamy floral vanilla with a slight spicy note that gives it a little “mystery”. I imagine an ancient Egyptian goddess would smell like this! It’s such a relaxing scent too - I constantly want to breathe it in while wearing it to smell it. It’s addictive and gives me the same calm, content feeling as my other favourite from the collection, Full Orange Blossom. Beautiful year-round, but especially perfect on hot days. It also doesn’t smell synthetic to me, which I really appreciate because artificial-smelling fragrances can trigger headaches or nausea for me. This one is soft, elegant, comforting, and completely non-offensive. Absolutely love love love this scent! I truly hope the Full Flower Collection stays forever because I’d be devastated if it disappeared!

Blown away. Finally a gorgeous ylang ylang without overwhelming tuberose or coconut. This one is fabulous, truly wonderful. I love ylang ylang and sometimes wear pure essential oil. However, it can get cloying and it can irrititate my skin. Besides this one I adore PMC Nosy Be, JPG Divine, and CH Good Girl Blush Elixir for their amazing use of ylang ylang. This one is certainly up there with them. Ylang ylang, somehow woody pepper, and a smooth vanilla, not at all too strong on the vanilla. Beautiful job, Body Shop.

This perfume lifts my mood and makes me feel pretty. It's a vanilla and Ylang Ylang scent, but after about half an hour I get a subtle peppery note on my skin. It lasts at least 6 hours, though after the 5-hour mark it turns more into a skin scent. It also lasts for one or two days on clothes. Simple, but beautiful in it's simplicity!

My mistake. Thought I liked Ylang Ylang, and the perfume smelled so good on the tester ribbon. But, it's way too sweet on me and just doesn't seem to suit me :( Will/might try it a few more times but we'll see. Edit: smells like my mum's perfume. Love it. Hope it suits me in an 'on-a-man' way.

Such a pretty perfume. I smelt it the last time I went to The Body Shop store. The dry down is even better than the initial spray. When I got home from the store, I smelt the paper I sprayed it on and oh my god it was so good. I should have bought it!

This is my official summer 2023 no-fuss fragrance. Nothing complicated but the freshness and realness of the ylang merged with a dash of vanilla makes this purely tropical. A relaxed summer beach holiday in a bottle.

I love this one. Very woodsy and peppery interpretation of ylang ylang. Firmly unisex, very slightly indolic, just enough that I don't get bored with it.

Lovveeeeee it so much. Vanilaish flowery perfume. So good to wear for work and meeting, leave a beautiful trace.

It smells so creamy, soft and calming. Found no hint of spice in it.

My favourite of the Full Flowers collection, equally reminds me of a warm spring day and also a cozy and sunny autumn afternoon. The blend of the florals with the vanilla and black pepper is beautiful in my opinion, and really works well together to create a warm and inviting fragrance. My only ‘criticism’ is a me problem really, and it’s the fact that I get bored of strong florals after a while. I might wear this every now and again from March until September/October because it reminds me of a particularly lovely trip to Spain where I was wearing this all the time as I only had space to carry one perfume with me, but other than that I don’t find myself reaching for it super often. Also, not super long lasting (I find maybe 4-5 hours is its limit) which is slightly disappointing but to be expected at this price point.

didn't wow me, but it was pretty good. regret not buying it when i was on vacation cause there's none of this in my country. thought I'd save the money to spend on something better and ended up spending on something worse. lol. pretty and inoffensive, smelled this w my mom who generally doesn't like vanillas and she likes this one, the vanilla is definitely there but the ylang ylang is the main star of the show obviously. sweet but not super incredibly sweet, wishing i had bought this one instead of sticky dates which i regretted buying 30 seconds after lmao

This scent is moderately strong, but I think two sprays are enough for me. It smells very nice, but anything more than a few sprays would result in it being too cloying due to the vanilla. I bought this without checking the notes first, but I don't regret getting it as I don't have that many ylang-ylang fragrances, save for maybe Lacoste Blanc, which I adore. Overall it is a nice addition to the collection. I don't see myself wearing it often but I think it's nice to have.

I’m not usually ylang ylang fan but this scent is so nice! It’s sweet but really light ylang ylang, not your usual oily ylang ylang+frangipani combo! The only thing I don’t like is the dry down when ylang and vanilla are not intense anymore and black pepper becomes more prominent - it just gives a bit of men’s cologne smell... So the 1-st phase of this perfume is 😍 for me and 2-nd one is meh :) It needs to be resprayed every ~ 40 min

Creamy ylang ylang. Bad sillage and longevity. It's a skin-length scent, don't expect to make people notice your presence. The vanilla-ish ylang ylang is nice btw

Tropical and sweet, fun and syrupy/designer Ylang-Ylang. Very simply that one floral and really nothing else. Super linear.

I smelled bunch of body sprays and perfumes in the body shop and ended up with this. It was love at first sniff. To me it is not synthetic as other people mentioned. It is a bit masculine, probably because of the pepper. It smells creamy and rich. A lot of perfumes are seasonal in the body shop so i am afraid they would stop this line. My other favourite from this line is full rose (but it kinda smells like toilet refreshener). I have this thing where i a make my friends and my family smell my new perfumes. Everyone liked it. Which doesnt happen generally. Also someone who hugged me told me you smell so good. So i dont understand the negative comments. 9.5/10 Edit: Unfortunately it is not a love anymore, it started smelling too masculine and peppery. Maybe because the weather got colder.Also it is an in your face type of perfume. I still love the vanilla in it tho, it is a type of vanilla i like.

I could understand why someone would like this, but the vanilla is very sweet, way too sweet for me. I guess I expected it to be a little milder, it’s too loud and bright, too energetic. I think I may give my sample to my sister, she might like it more than me.

Not impressed, smells a bit cheap. It's not bad, but not worth the price IMO. Especially, the dry down is meh. Still looking for the perfect ylang-ylang summer scent if anyone has a recommendation.

starting off i get ylang ylang and a too-sweet vanilla. it also seems like i get a slight booziness here and a something reading like coconut a bit. it smells kind of like a tropical drink, a lot like a chi chi. i get a lot of coconut actually, and can't believe it's not listed as a note. i wish it had more ylang ylang and less sweet notes. it's not terrible, just too sweet for me personally. i do like vanilla but it takes over here.

Why is everyone saying it smells like ylang and vanilla i only get smokey masculine sharp black pepper ? Smells like peppery incense gives me the most nauseating feeling ever and this shlt is long lasting

Disgusting to me the dry down is pure incense the black pepper is freaking smokey killing the ylang and vanilla scent and making it too masculine without a hint of vanilla or ylang... regret 30-/10

This perfume made me get headache. Too much pepper and vanilla. I almost see no Ylang Ylang. This is definitely my black list. 3/10

Probably the most accurately named fragrance I've ever owned. She's full, sugary and uplifting - beginning as a burst of linear ylang ylang which evokes a stroll through the garden of an upscale beach resort. I don't how to explain this, but this perfume smells like perfect summer weather. The initial drydown is sweet and very clean. It reminds me almost of an expensive, hotel spa shampoo, but in the best way possible. Then that sweetness is not cut, but joined and enhanced by the late pepper note, which I can definitely see how people interpret as masculine. When this settles it's a true ylang ylang, mingled with that spiced, peppery but soft vanilla. My only critique is I wish it held that sweet floral burst from the opening a little longer, but this can easily be refreshed with another spritz. Leaves a lovely scent trail; people will smell you as soon as you walk in the door. Lasts 5-6 hours on me. A favourite for summer days and a staple in my collection.

Upon smelling TBS Full Ylang Ylang, I was immediately reminded of MFK's sadly discontinued Le Beau Parfum. Although nominally tuberose was Le Beau Parfum's main ingredient, that one was actually dominated by ylang-ylang and vanilla. Guess what - the same pairing now features prominently in Full Ylang Ylang; so, if you once enjoyed Le Beau Parfum, this scent is an excellent (and much cheaper) alternative. In order to appreciate TBS Full Ylang Ylang, one must be into sweet scents, because this one is quite sugary indeed - the ylang's usual sweetness is further amplified by a generous amount of vanilla, and then lightly peppered, just to make it a bit less monotonous. It lasts about 4-5 hours, which is okay for an EDT in this price category, and smells beautiful throughout - tropical, cheerful, exotic, youthful. If you love sweet scents in general, and 'summer in a bottle'-type of scent specifically, then this is a no-brainer.

Gorgeous fragrance for its price! Such a beautiful fresh summery floral vanilla. I really like ylang ylang but it’s often mixed in a very coconuty and sunscreeny compositions but this one is very bright and creamy instead with just a slight touch of vanilla and a bit of freshness from pepper. Absolutely love it. Longevity is not crazy but it’s so well done for what it is and by far my favourite from this line. Body Shop actually has some really nice and super affordable scents that are being slept on!

Definitely similar to Mont Blanc Signature absolu but not so much like ylang in gold! This does have a strong, creamy and tropically ylang and it's a nice level of sweetness to my nose, but there’s something in here that has a slightly unpleasant bitter wood smell - maybe the black pepper but I’ve not had that with a pepper note before! This was pretty strong on me and lasted for ages! It’s at its best after about 2 hours imho - I can still smell it as a skin scent after 9 hours!
