Kahaia

This smells just fabulous out of the bottle; rich white flowers, tropical tiare, cocoa butter and warm vanilla. The cocoa butter is definitely among the strongest notes here. I have yves rocher monoi de Tahiti body oil, and love it, as well as aloha tiare, so I was thrilled to find this cheapie. BUT on my skin this becomes all praline and vanilla and the white flowers fly away within 15 minutes leaving a scent reminiscent of Mugler’s Angel. NOOoooo!!!! After an hour all I smell is this thin fat-free diabetic chocolate aroma. Is there really no patchouli in this? I don’t smell the citrus or pink pepper at all. I will spray on clothes and not my skin. Btw, I have the nuxe body oil and this doesn’t smell like that at all imo. Edit: I now own terracotta and it smells nothing like this! Terracotta has a soft milky creamy vibe- this is MUCH more assertive, concentrated and chocolatey. Edit: guess what, I moved to North Carolina this year and after my first spring I can tell you that this smells exactly like the heavenly clouds of star jasmine vines that are blooming everywhere. I had no idea jasmine could be so chocolatey! Wow. Like has changed to love! When I spray it on my clothes I can get 6 hours wear.

I LOVE THIS. I can't believe what an incredible score this was for $9 at TJ Maxx. If I found it being sold there, does that mean The Body Shop has discontinued it maybe? This smells exactly like the tiare bushes that grew outside my room on my Hawaii trip. Every morning I would go outside to stick my nose in those white, gardenia-like tropical blooms and this Body Shop Kahaia has that same milky, creamy, marshmallowy white floral goodness I remember from the island. I have already received a compliment on it from a coworker who usually does not comment on my perfume choices. She's a bit shy to talk so giving the compliment must mean she loves it. Another coworker says it smells exactly like the lobby of the Disney Grand Floridian hotel. Kahaia makes me want to seek out more tiare focused scents. I really like that there is no coconut here, which really allows the creaminess of the flower to shine. And headspace technology! How cool is that? Capturing the air around a living flower without picking it? Amazing.

Congratulations TBS, this IS a gem! It's from the same family as my beloved Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum and Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti. Even better, dare I say, due to the absence of coconut! See, coconut is a tricky note. It can easily turn plasticy and cloying. What TBS did here was to replace the typical coconut in these summer-in-a-bottle white florals with praline and vanilla. Now, I'm biased because I love myself some powdery vanillin, but this unexpected twist worked. so. well. Vanilla does not steal the show. Au contraire, helps keeping this a sweet floral! Jasmine is also tamed here. It's summery and fresh, not soapy. As the hours go by, it turns more dripping honey-like and less floral. I've found the longevity to be around 4 hours. Strong for a TBS frag. If you're a fan of these scents, and The Polynesian Island Tiare disappointed you by its ongoing crispy greenness, make sure to give this a try!

I went today to the body shop and found the little bottles of this collection hidden in a corner. I must say the body shop exceeded my craziest expectations! This is heavenly! Actually, almost all of the fragrances from this collection are to die for, but this one is the best. If i had to limit myself to only one smell for the rest of my life, it would be this. It smells so creamy, so natural, so sensual, relaxing and luminous. Kahaia is so luxurious, a queen would wear it. It smells very much like Nuxe huile prodigieuse, but better, i simply can't believe my nose. This one goes asap to my want list. I hope the body shop doesn't discontinues it before i can't put my hands on it. Sillage is close to the skin, can't talk about longevity yet. This is a must try for every white floral fan. Note:10/10

I mean...They discontinue an amazing, original scent (and a collection) like this, but release TikTok hyped, Cheirosa copycats. No wonder the business has been going downward. This was my most complimented perfume ever. Everything I love about a floral perfume: Full, white and creamy, lush flowers with just enough sweetness. So warm, feminine and divine. Sadly, none of the "Remind me of" scents comes close to this for me. They lack the ambery depth of this perfume; they are either too tropical due to coconut, too bubblegummy due to tuberose, or too sweet. I don't dare use what I have left of this gem... And it breaks my heart. They brought the Spa of the World Series back, though, so I'm hoping the same for this collection.

A true gem. It lives up every expectation I have of a white flora fragrance but only lack one thing, you tone down the vanilla and you'll get the pure embodiment of white flowers. Tiare, jasmine, gardenia, a little dose of tuberose and all exotic stuff blended here. Like it's juice color, this fragrance hold so much things inside. It blooms upon inside you. An olfactory realness. I cherish this one bottle of mine I have. I love this. If you can get it near you, grab it immediately and you won't regret it. Kahaia is my favorite one from this line and this line consists of five amazing fragrances. Such a shame they're discontinued.

I love this scent! I decided to buy it without trying it after reading a few reviews, and following my love for exotic flowers like tiarè. This is definitely a very fresh and creamy fragrance that would work wonders in summer, but still be a good winter player thanks to its luminous notes. Vanilla is definitely the protagonist, however the white flower scent sticks around for quite a while, just like loyal sidekicks! Recommended if you like sun oils and coconut but are looking for something more polished and classy

A magnificent, natural-smelling white flowers bouquet. I feel like I'm having a walk in a beautiful neighborhood on a tropical island, and I'm surrounded by blooming jasmine and tiare bushes. I've never experienced the gourmand dry down because this short-lived perfume remained a white flower bouquet from start to end, but it was a beautiful one. I felt like the cutest, happiest thing while smelling like this in my baby blue summer dress.

A fantastic, and very different white floral, initially I thought a similar vibe to Modern Muse, but I was wrong, this is all together different, a white floral yes, but the garden these came from is somewhere far afield. The packaging is excellent, and the performance is very good indeed. The whole line has real quality, hard to pick a favourite. Excellent value also.

This fragrance is so nice. It's both floral and tropical, and it is really good quality. It's smells like the finest sunscreen at the beach. The taire flower is gorgeous in this fragrance. I'm a man, and I love this smell. I usually wear this right after I take a shower because I'm a sucker for florals. I highly recommend you find this fragrance for yourself.

FIRST OF ALL I NEED TO STOP MYSELF TO SNIFF MY BODY AFTER SPRAY THIS GEM. I mean this is soooooo good. I blind bought this one and thank God I love it. Somehow it smells like olive body mist that I used to have. It's mature, flowery, feminine. It lasts 3-4 hours on my body. BUT, one night I sprayed it on my clothes and could smell it on the next evening.

I'm an outlier here. I can appreciate the quality of this perfume, but it is just too sharp and strong for me. It very much reminds of Roberto Cavalli's Just Cavalli, both of which feature tiare. Just Cavalli is also a fairly strong scent, but for me, it is not as sharp and is creamier. I enjoy it much more than this one.

I found this for $9 at Marshall’s and blind purchased. OMG! Best blind but ever! This is a gorgeous tiare! Very much reminds me of being on a Hawaiian beach at sunset. It smells WAY more expensive than it is and if I had tested it beforehand, I’d have paid much more for it. Super happy with this purchase.

It reminds me of Gucci Bloom! It is a really nice jasmine-y scent which is a bit tropical. Unfortunately it does not last long and fades to a skin scent after about two hours leaving behind a vanilla/ambery scent.

Very sweet heavenly tiare flower with a little sneeze of pepper. It's that creamy tropical tiare that makes your teeth ache. I love it.

I don't think I ever smelled something so heavenly.

A lovely, multifaceted, sweet and exotic floral. A hint of rubbery tuberose and soap-bubble like cleanliness in the opening, blended with a slight fruity note, lots of hypnotic white florals, vanilla and a nutty, not too overwhelming praline. Kahaia has a creamy, oily feel to it, like some luscious body oil made of tiaré and other tropical flowers. It smells very sensual and feminine. The development in the drydown is a typical progression from floral and fresh to vanillic and warm. Many have compared another fragrance from this line, Nigritella, to Dior Hypnotic Poison. I think this has some traces of HP, too, mainly the rubber-like note in the opening combined with the vanilla. I was also reminded of Keiko Mecheri Datura Blanche, which is less well-known but one of my favorites. But in the end, Kahaia isn't a dupe for anything and stands on its own feet. The Elixirs of Nature collection is the most expensive line from The Body Shop, but it's still quite affordable, especially with the discount codes TBS puts out often. And this is more complex than most of their other scents. Kahaia smells like summer, it's best in mild to warm weather and still works in 30°+ temperatures.

My impression of this scent is very good. I like it even better than the Swietenia perfume from the same line. It's sweet, but in a modest way, creamy and floral just right amount. The best part is the praline note which is suited to other notes remarkably well. The scent is floral and powdery, but you can sense the edible praline note, without it being too overwhelming like it usually is. This perfume would be perfect for a warm sunny day, a possible beach scent, tropical and dreamy.

I was thinking it smells like beautiful Nuxe and bought it and it does go in that direction but lags behind in terms of cleanliness and the creme/lotion style of Nuxe (which is bit medicinal sometimes). It also smells very close to Terracotta the expensive perfume by Guerlain. Nothing to regret here, cute, exotic and sweet perfume.

To me it smells similar with their Polynesia Tiare; but Kahaia feels more warm, the jasmine & tiare are more prominent then followed by vanilla-amber. Creamy white floral, smells like beach oh i love this but in Indonesia it still cost 500k IDR (around 40USD) and i can't justify my self to spend that much for 50ml :(

I just wish it had less vanilla/sweet. It might be cause I have problems with sweet or cause we are all attracted to it, it's everywhere, I've so many...I'm bored I like to find a very intensive Tiare fragrance. Any suggestions?

To me, this smells almost like a tuberose soliflore, but creamier.

Although it's stated as white flora, this might not be the typical white floral scent you're familiar with. It is floral still, but completely exotic in a beautiful way. I find it a little similar to another perfume in this line- Swietenia. However, this is definitely more well-rounded and if you like Swietenia but find it a little bit too sweet or something's just not enough in that bottle, try Kahaia, I think it's a decent substitute for Swietenia without losing that unique exotic notes. Beautiful.

perfume for night occasions, gives a warm feeling when smelled, opened with heavy white flora scent that later turn into tiare flower scent mixed with ambery scent not my favorite type of perfume, rarely wear that one but the perfume last quite long with moderate sillage

I just got this a few hours ago from Tjmaxx, but before buying , i had to read your reviews and I was convinced especially when i read that it's compared to Estee Lauder's bronze goddess. Thanks to you @Papavero0. Smells like exotic white flowers with light coconut vibe which i adore, and creamy from the vanilla and praline base. Just beautiful for the summer time.

Kahaia is lovely, but be forewarned: it is probably not what you are expecting it to be! As a lover of sweet, white florals, I was expecting to find a familiar bloom drenched in vanilla. Kahaia is not familiar. I assume that, since the flower grows on an isolated tropical island, most people have not smelled this note in perfumery (or real life) before. Though I don't smell tuberose, or jasmine, or tiare or gardenia, I do think this pulls off a somewhat beach-y vibe - or at the very least, a summery one. I get bubble-gum-sweet nondescript florals over an amber-vanilla base, the latter overtaking the whole thing in a couple of hours. Perhaps a touch of citrus at the top, but it's well-blended and not easy to identify. Though I was disappointed at first because it wasn't what I expected it to be, I've come to like this one, and appreciate it for what it offers. I'd recommend it as a crowd-pleasing cheapie, but wouldn't advise paying more than $30 for it. If you're like me and like to buy a new fragrance to wear only during a vacation to capture memories and hold onto them, this would be a perfect one to toss in your suitcase. It's pleasant, very wearable and distinct; but my take is that most won't fall so in love with it that it will be hard to keep from wearing it once the trip is over.

This is a beautiful, sophisticated fragrance from The Body Shop! I came across a bottle for $15 and based on the stellar reviews here, decided I should blind buy it. I typically don't LOVE florals, but this one's worth loving!!!! It reminds me of something I've tried before, years ago ...not sure what though. The white florals, creamy vanilla and amber, projects such a warm, sweet scent perfect for warmer months! The white florals and the vanilla stays with this perfume into the base notes. I'm excited to wear this in summer and see how it does in the heat (I think it's one of those that will shine in summer months, but I will try to remember to give an update!). Update: Okay--I figured out why I have smelled something similar before. This shares similarities with Jessica Simpson's TEN perfume. Though I believe Kahaia is a smoother, more refined white floral scent. And by no means a dupe, but if you like one, I would say you would like the other!! Second update: I wore this for the 3rd time today and received a compliment from a stranger! Also, I have found that this one smells super lovely layered with Kayali's Vanilla 28 (keep in mind though, I'm a vanilla lover more than florals!).

At first spritz, tiare, praline and amber will envelope you in a cloud of bliss. I don't detect any citrus, perhaps a hint of white flowers, no jasmine though, not so prominent to be recognised. The drydown spins on vanilla, but the trio stays rather linear there, though much faint compared to the opening. Absolutely amazing. It's a fantastic fragrance with great longevity and decent sillage. A 7/10 from me, will definitely re-purchase. By the way, it reminds me of a much older scent than those mentioned above. Can't put my finger on it yet, but will remember soon or later. It's driving me nuts LOL Edit: I finally got to remember what this perfume reminded me of... it's the cocoa butter in Labello chapstick!! AND Gucci Bloom - the tuberose in there is identical, though this fragrance contains none. Absolutely gorgeous!

Alas, this line is discontinued - shame, really, because it featured some really good and reasonably priced fragrances. I found a few heavily discounted bottles of Kahaia and bought them all - I'll keep one bottle for myself and gift the rest. Anyway, Kahaia is a gorgeous little gem. This is firmly aimed at lovers of tropical white flowers - the fragrance is dominated by an enchanting trio of tiare, tuberose and jasmine. While such scents sometimes tend to be either too bubblegummy or too cloying and musty, Kahaia is neither. It is pleasantly sweetish, invitingly exotic and just a little sexy. The gourmand notes are very subtle and don't bother me at all. It can be worn during the warmest summer days without suffocating anybody.

So I was out shopping at my local Target and the cashier asked me if I was wearing perfume and what is it. I said I'm wearing Kahaia from The Body Shop. She told me I smelled so nice like Hawaii and that she was leaving next week for Maui. Kahaia was a semi blind buy because I remember testing it out at The Body Shop, when it first came out, and thinking it smelled like Honeymania (now discontinued, sadly). To my surprise, I like it much better than Honeymania. It's like a lush paradise garden with creamy Plumeria (the variety that smells like Vanilla), bold Tiare flowers (Tahitian Gardenia), and hints of Honeysuckle. I only sprayed twice and the cashier was 4 feet away. Totally made my day!!

Beautiful tropical flowers. Fairly long lasting. And I think the bottle looks really nice! I want to love it but I find it to tame. I have this and Sikkim girls from Lush trying to fill the same space in my collection and I will probably let this one go to someone ells. But I ́m not completely sure... Its something about this scent... I would probably love it if it the vanilla wasn ́t there. I adore the smell of Tiare flowers, but either they just don ́t work their magic on my skin or this is not The One.

Since I prefer scents that are fresh and a bit more green for the warmer months, and this gem here definitely doesn't hold well in the cold ones for me, I decided to spray it over a very light spray of the original Alien. Guys...it's heavenly! It kind of overpowers that grape-soda vibe that Alien has and makes it warmer and smoother. Even though Kahaia is amazing on its own, mixing it like this makes it last forever and makes a rather mainstream scent more mysterious.

Kahaia is luscious and creamy. It smells like a body cream way more than a perfume. It is appropriate for summer wear since after a while it smells like a sunscreen lotion/beach oil. But beware. It turns *vanillic* for some reason after the white flowers notes fly away. At that point it reminds me strongly of Lalique Le Parfum! So yeah, the drydown makes me think one can wear it even in wintertime. Not original, but totally comfortable.

Got this at TJmaxx this past weekend. After smelling this again today from the bottle it reminds me of Armani Mania a bit. Kind of a salty vanilla if that makes sense, ahhh like spices and vanilla. The floral aspect in this though is more tropical. The flowers remind me a bit of like a Michael by michael kors type flowers. Very tropical florals and vanilla. I think I like it!!

This perfume smells so amazing on my skin. Lasted 3/4 hours so the longevity could be better. It can be quite nauseating if too much is sprayed, but I love it. Kahaia is one of my favourite perfumes ever. It reminds me of a strong, feminine woman who is spontaneous and independent.

I bought this yesterday at TJMaxx based only on reviews posted here. It smells like a spicy floral at first and then settles into a creamy soft white scent. The longevity is amazing and also this us a dupe for Madonna Truth or Dare. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Is "Guettarda speciosa" the same as "Gardenia taitensis"? I read elsewhere that the Polynesian flower "Kahaia" is the same as the first one, "Guettarda speciosa", and is also called "tafano". Tiare flower is "Gardenia taitensis".

Well this smells floral and warm at the same time. It will last all day on clothes, which is where you're supposed to put your perfume anyway. I also like the Nigritella I think I will go get this one as well.

Elixirs of nature collection is already here in middle east. Each fragrance is 50ml & created using head-space technique. I'll try to test them all & write a review.
