White Musk L'Eau

If you don’t like the original Body Shop White Musk don’t be put off by this... they are completely different smells This is a fresh, clean almost cucumber-y fragrance. It’s not complex but it’s also not a generic fresh scent to my nose. It is also very calming and relaxing, despite being fresh at the same time. I wear the mist version and enjoy it every time I wear it. I wouldn’t say the mist last more than 2 hours on skin but while it is on it definitely projects and can be smelt (although I am an over-sprayer). The performance is no worse than Elizabeth Arden’s ‘green tea’ in my opinion, and that’s an EDT. I think the scent itself is for someone who wants something nice and light, but still distinguishable as a fragrance. The vibe is portrays to me is a pretty young woman with clear skin, wearing a matching sage green gym set and carrying a big water bottle with icy water in. It’s fresh and green (but in a palatable way) and clean and just great. Even if you fresh scents aren’t your favourite, I think everyone needs just one... and this should be ‘the one’ in my opinion. I’d like to get the EDT version (but will probs wait until I use up my mist!)

I picked this one up as I had a voucher for the Body Shop. Liked it from the first initial sniff, smells very fresh and musky, definitely a unisex fragrance as my boyfriend loved it aswell. Can understand how it can get sickening specially if you have a headache already however it's perfect for work, after shower and just lounging at home but wanting to smell nice. The longevity is not great with this one though.

I bought the original version back in 2019 and bought the newer version in 2023. The original version lasted longer on my skin than the newer version. However, the scent has always been fresh and beautiful. I think I like this sooo much because I enjoy the combination of cucumbery, floral, and musky smell. Strangely enough, I found myself enjoyed this scent best on a rainy day.

One of my first perfumes. It is a musk perfume (to my surprise I liked it although I am not a musk type of girl) which leaves a clean and fresh scent. But not in a soap or dish type of cleanliness or freshness but like a first whiff in a flower garden or a bite of fresh fruit after eating a overpowering food to refresh. It is intensely suitable for day wear.

was my daily scent when in 2021-2024. i really love how fresh and floral it smells. it's not a compliment-getter, but it is pleasant and nobody seemed to be bothered by it - perfect for my job that required meeting a lot of different people. the sillage is quite intimate which i also liked, unfortunately staying power is pretty bad

Scent-wise, it's such a beautiful body mist in my opinion! Very fresh but not boring. I always feel as if I just got out of shower whenever I wear this. Very suitable for a hot tropical country where I live. The only down side is the poor performance of sillage and longevity

This was my Covid perfume, and it's the cheap one I still keep on my desk at work. If they've changed the formula it was for the better - I don't think I loved it before. TBS doesn't have a great perfume selection, of the half-dozen on offer this was the best one.

This is my second bottle and everytime I sniff this one I was completely refreshed and calmed. My signature ofc because the mix is just perfect. The only thing that annoy me is how weak this l'eau. They need to improve the longevity and the sillage.

A very clean, inoffensive and innocent smell. Perfect for daytime. The opening is very synthetic but the dry down is more floral and soft on my skin.

If water would have a scent and you could wear it on a hot summer`s day.

This one was quite of a surprise success for me. I remember in the store I found it quite synthetic on first blast. Figures, as at least 3 of the main notes are bound to be synthetic (pear, lily of the valley and vegan aka synthetic musk). But my friend who was with me kept saying how nicely soft and fresh it smells on me, so I ended up getting a bottle then and there thinking it might be nice and mild occasionally for this awfully hot Mumbai summer. Within 2 weeks I found myself reaching for it more and more often. It really did grow on me especially as after shower scent. So how does it perform on me? First blast as already mentioned I get synthetic fruitiness and lily of the valley. It settles very quickly, however, to a creamy soft pear underlined with an even softer floral vibe. I'm usually not a big fan of pear but in this case I find it super pleasant. I don't smell any rose and also the musk note I personally can't detect but I guess it might be adding to the all over softness/creaminess possibly? After one to two hours indoors (with AC) I cannot smell it myself anymore unless I lift my arm up close to my nose, but others can indeed still smell it, especially if I sprayed a bit on my clothes too. Once I threw on a shirt a second time in the morning and my husband commented 'Why are you smelling nice right after getting up?' The fragrance which I had sprayed the day before still lasted on it. So yeah, I found myself really liking it and people do notice it definitely (in a good way!). I see it leaning heavily on the feminine side. It's a clean satin-y smell with a dash of light fruitiness. Inoffensive, dreamy, hard to overspray. More of a skin scent especially in hot humid weather. Performs better in the AC than outdoors in the heat, obviously. Longevity may seem short for the wearer, but it has a tendency to surprisingly pop up again and get noticed when you don't even expect it anymore. I'm really happy I gave it a try and can see myself repurchasing it. It doesn't have me smitten like my favorite discontinued White Musk Libertine, but it's coming pretty close.

Initially I was hesitant with the release of another L'eau...as I am already disappointed by Chanel N5 L'eau and Jimmy Choo L'eau. And who knows what other Eaux will make me frown again... But this...Why, oh why does the Body Shop underestimate their fragranes, whyyyyyy?? I'm fine with a l'eau, but make it an EDP, it deserves it. I know that White Musk exists as an EDP, but I mean the combination of notes in here to be made in an EDP form. Yes it's feminine, beautiful, soft, fruity floral, with a seamless blend, juicy at times and with a drydown of a citrusy pear. I also think that rose is quite prominent. And yes, you have smelled this before, because the combination of rose-jasmine and/or lily of the valley is commonly used by high end mainstream female perfumes. But here the pear notes make the difference. Also has a small amount of baby powder Projects well for the first hour but later it stays close the skin. People might find it generic, like a lot of fresh fruity girly scents, but to my nose, which I assume is not broken, White Musk L'eau is superior scentwise.

I was Christmas shopping and bought a couple for family, got a free one, and I must say I totally like it..like, not love, but as a fan of musky scents this one is fresh, not too dry or clean, a tad floral, fresh with a green undertone ....very easy to like, and to wear..i even wear it to bed, and there are very few scents I can handle at night...No idea why it is for men too, this is very feminine in my opinion with a fresh floral undertone ..it is snowy and cold today, and the musk smells fresh and warm...I see it as an all season scent definitely...would make an easy gift for anyone who likes soft pretty scents, non intrusive...longevity is weak, but the price is great, so I will repurchase for sure.

This was my first ever "real" perfume, my older aunt persuaded me to buy it and me not knowing any better I bought it and have been burdened with this perfume since 2019. It's become a nalstogic fragrance, but I stopped wearing it in early highschool after the notes started to smell dirty on me, I wish it was cleaner and fruiter, to me it just smells like very synthetic musk, it smelt much better in the store, and in the first few months of wear. I guess I can wear it sometimes when I'm really in the mood to smell like young teenage self. Maybe my body chemistry changed but it just doesn't smell the same, and in fact it smells bad to me now.

I’ve read that the 2024 version that I just got is a reformulation of the original (which I’ve never tried) and that it’s very different than original. That being said, the 2024 version I have is very nice. It’s musky, a little powdery, and has this lovely, freshie aquatic thing to it. I really like this. I think it’s completely unisex and smells inoffensive and very pleasant, I think it’d make a great office scent or daytime scent. It projects a bit for the first couple hours and then after that sits close to the skin and stays very fresh and aquatic.

I was intrigued when I tried this in store. I tend to gravitate towards sweet-smelling perfumes but upon smelling this I liked how refreshing it is without smelling too citrusy or cucumber-y as most of the "fresh" fragrances I've ever tried. I couldn't smell the musk on this. The vibe I get is watery floral. I get compliments if I enter a room right after I spray this. It is not offensive at all so I wear it for office and anytime I wear casual clothes. The longevity is pretty bad. So I usually spray this on my clothes to make it stay longer.

Gorgeous. Same vibe as Marc Jacobs Rain. This, along with White Musk Sport, are, so far, the only fragrances from The Body Shop that I enjoy. If you're into the kind of 'not-exactly-a-perfume' perfume, this is one of them at reasonable price. Peary, cucumbery, white-musky, slightly powdery... other details are already covered in other reviews I think. Downside is it makes me sneeze a lot. Much more than I thought. Other than this, I like it tremendously.

I have the bodylotion but I assume the scent is close enough for me to comment - it is The Body Shop and not too complicated after all? At first I was not a fan but after a few uses I like it enough to google the notes. The nostalgic factor might be strong here as one of the first fragrances ever gifted to me was Eau de Eden and it is listed as similar here by some. Never thought so. Must be the lily in it, as it is not a very current note.

I didn't really expect much of this but after a full day's wear, I found myself loving it! I picked this up during my search for Ralph Lauren's now defunct Cool dupe. The initial hit is very synethic floral but as it faded, the fruitiness came out (pear and strangely, some kiwi). I don't quite smell the musk though. I think this scent works well with my skin chemistry. Will buy again.

It is a fresh, white floral cucumber-y scent, that radiates softly and settles into a fluffy musk before disappearing in a few hours. I find that it is efficient as a body mist, especially if combined with the other products from the line. It leaves a nice clean trail, is detectable on clothes and easily complements actual perfumes. Lovely scent for down days and after a shower.

It’s the perfect scent for the work place. Inoffensive, clean and very close to the skin. Unfortunately it doesn’t stay long. After two hours, it’s barely detectable on the skin. This doesn’t matter much to me. I have a small travel spray and I don’t mind using it whenever the scent fades. The price point doesn’t hurt at all as I got this for dirt cheap when it got discontinued.

It smells like citrus and cucumber, so fresh and clean. I love it It is perfectly unisex, wouldn't say it leans onto either the masculine or feminine side, it is so neutral in a pleasant way, you really can't offend anyone with this. The only downside to this is that it lasts around 3 hours on my skin so re-application is needed frequently

Smell like a green fruit like a fruity cucumber, after settle down a mixture of musk and green notes, about an arms length of projection. Last about an hour for me when I apply on clothes, one pulse point only 45 mins of full projection after that it’s like intimate kind of projection length. Maybe because my body heat is high.

Picked this up at Marshall's for $7. This comes across to me as more fruity-floral than musky. It's still the perfect scent for keeping in the locker room to freshen up, which is why I bought it in the first place. Very refreshing fruity and musky smell, I think I will wear it a lot this summer.

Such a beautiful scent to me, I am a male but I appreciate white florals and I loved this one. I used this everyday a few years back, i still have the empty bottle currently. Performance obviously lacks but who cares, at least only i care about the smell. And the smell is awesome

It has fresh scent, suitable for tropical climate in here (I live in Indonesia). But it has poor longetivity. I use it three times during my working time. Everyone doesn't notice its smell except being closer to me. I have been using it 15 ml for just less than two weeks :(

I agree it's a familiar scent. It reminds me more of a light version of Chanel 19 than Issey Miyake. It's a sunny perfume. Makes you want to take a deep breath again and again. I like it very much.

Very subtle, jasmine and musk scent, imitating the scent of a freshly showered body. I like it, but it is nothing special.

Just bought a bottle today. Fell instantly in love with it after the first spray. Airy, cheery and oh-so-lovely!!

A cheaper alternative for Pear Inc.!

Smells like the color green. It's fresh, clean, airy, and unisex. If I had to describe it, it would be standing in the middle of a grassy field. It's definitely powdery. The scent has a refreshing simplicity that makes it incredibly easy to wear, especially if you enjoy fresh, minimalist fragrances. I actually using this for layering. I pair it with In the Bloom from Bath & Body Works or Sheer Love from Victoria's Secret, and it adds the perfect clean, airy touch that makes both fragrances feel even fresher. It's just not quite my style on its own. I enjoy it much more as a layering fragrance than as the main event.

To me this is identical to Ocean Di Gioia except with zero lasting power and next to no projection. I remember when the Body Shop made beast oils that would literally permeate an entire room with several drops. Now they're all watered down to nothing.

The opening towards a bit femminine, but once it settles down, it's for unisex, so I think it can be used for both men and women. The staying power is weak so I wear this for self-enjoyment after having a shower and a bath.

Juicy, sweet pear and pretty florals! I love the opening. These notes fade quickly. There’s mostly musk left after one hour. It’s more interesting in the beginning if you ask me. I like this scent but it’s not very complex.

What the hell is this formula? My cousin had old version ~10 years ago and I used it few times, so I went to buy one for myself since I’m a huge fan of musk scents lately. And I was so disappointed by sillage of new one( I tried it on my wrist, it felt wrong so I changed my mind. And even more disappointed I was when I found out it stayed on my wrist for only 1 hour! It makes no sense, I can only imagine how fast this bottle ends if you reapply it every hour

This one is not for me. L'eau is overly synthetic and stereotypically "perfumey" to me, which is not what I look for in a fragrance. I get no pear or rose notes, just cheap fake flowers. Too bad.

This is quite boring unfortunately. I like the bottle and usually all the fresh things, but this is not what i expected. I sense the pear and I don't like it. Nothing special.

I own this but I would never wear it. This is not a unisex fragrance. Also it gives me headaches. I can't even use it as a room fragrance. Very feminine, be aware.

I'm just being sentimental about this. This late afternoon 50 minutes cycling left me weak but inspired lol (found my new crush in bukid HAHAHA) Anyways, so tonight I told myself to pull this thing off, with a little juice left though, it contains all the nostalgia of early 2019. I bought this 60ml bottle at SM Makati last year. It was just a quick stop off. Also, a quick brain synapse and an impulse to bring something home, a moment that feels exactly like the painting of consecration of Emperor Napoleon and the coronation of Empress Josephine in 1804. Victorious. Symbolic. I left Ayala Station shooting because I know what I wanted. There are no sniffing sessions and window shopping happened, I just asked the SA to pick the item and rushed at the cashier, paid it, and then hurried back to Ayala Station. I tried it inside MRT, and since then, that memory was encapsulated in this juice. Here's my agenda on that day: - Pick up a recommendation letter from Dean Francis, LPU Laguna - Go to UP Diliman, submit all the documents - Go to Ateneo, submit all the documents Only one and two were actualized; Ateneo grad school office was closed because of an ongoing thesis defense; I came home extremely late. White Musk L'eau is a soft synthetic musk (marketed as vegan) surrounded by floral and fruity notes of pear, roses, jasmine, and lily of the valley. The scent is floral fresh with musk dry down. Period. Even though this fragrance now is mediocre compared to all the scents that I have smelled - White Musk L'eau will always be special! HAHAHA That tiring day paid off though. After months of waiting, I got accepted to Anthro Department as a grad student! HAHAHA and this is the perfume that I wore on the first day of class!

It would be interesting to smell this on a guy! It came as a surprise to me that this listed this as unisex. Now I'm really curious. Memory/Sentiment:- This was a birthday gift from my boyfriend/high school sweetheart. We were both quite broke at the time but he saved up for a while. Weeks before my birthday he just got his driving license, drove quite a distance and spent few hours in the mall just to find a perfect scent he think would suit me and my personality well. I feel loved and special every time I wear this fragrance, and would always use as it a lucky charm for important & meaningful occasions. The fragrance:- I really couldn't have said it better than @iamoir. A really well-blended perfume. Simplistic,minimal,yet not forgettable or boring at all. Longevity is sadly on the low side though, but I find spraying this in my hair works wonder! Something in this works really well with my skin chemistry and is a compliment getter. I can't imagine anyone being offended by this. This would be ideal for an office setting. Surprising to note that, comments has been given on several occasions hours after spraying this on in the early morning, so maybe the silage and longevity is not as bad I personally think it is. It would be a really safe blind buy, or a great gift as it is also vegan perfume if I remember correctly.

Imagine a tall glass with mineral water, fresh cucumber slices and ice. That's the image I get from this scent. It's a musk but I wouldn't call it white musk because it's very different from the original White Musk by the Body Shop. I actually prefer this one. I wear it as a palate cleanser between my heavier statement fragrances and sweet gourmands. This is basic and pure, like white cotton sheets. It's fresh but subtly so. Nothing abrasive or sharp about it. This is a cozy, innocent ozonic musk, with a pale green edge and soft powdery drydown. Perfect for bed time. Or when I want to smell clean and nothing else. Most suitable for spring. Don't detect any pear, rose or jasmine whatsoever.

I am a huge fan of fresh or powdery floral scents. When I first smelled this in the shop, I thought it was overly synthetic and ended up getting a headache later. I ended up buying it though, and once I tried it again at home, the scent was completely different from what I remembered. It was more gentle, with a juicy fruit opening that quickly evolved into white florals with a soft musk. It was just a bit sweet and came off as feminine, and although I don't love it, I like it enough to use it well. I feel the drawback of this perfume is that it does not last very long, and although I do not mind a soft and close to the skin scent, I wish that it lasted more than 1-2 hours.

Not a perfume that will shock or surprise you. Nothing special on its own. A pleasant, light summer-scent. But sometimes even a fragrance that is not your style and you normally wouldn't buy can turn into something special... If there are memories behind it. This fragrance reminds me of my beautiful mum, who loves soft, light perfumes, and all those beautiful, sunny days that I've had this summer in Turkey with my family. She has this, so as soon as I came back to Finland, I bought a bottle as well. So now, whenever I miss her and those days and I want to feel like I'm there again, I just spray this and close my eyes...
