I miss Violet

All my TDC fragrances are so shway. If I have to classify them, I would split them in two categories. The Comforters - Sel de Vetiver, Osmanthus, Bergamote. These are the ones to chill out to, all done with great materials and craft, which is quite the standard for TDC. And the Muffin Fluffers - Un Nuit Magnetique, Aurore Nomade, Rose Poivree. These are the ones to funk to. Especially the last one. It hits hard. Based solely on the notes IMV should have been easily a MF. But to my nose it’s a strange and unexpected comforter. Tender as a purple silk scarf, fitting like a black leather glove, a soft porn that could have easily been that special pay-per-view hardcore exclusive. It does ease the mind. Somewhat distanced, nostalgic, cold, IMV is clearly conceived as a love letter to someone i loved but never had the chance to love. A symbol of unrequited desire, I simultaneously love and miss the protagonist in this beautiful tale from TDC. Weirdly comforting, as sadness can sometimes be. *****

A perfume of strong impact, a unique and mysterious harmony. The opening I really like, and immediately reveals the strong note of violet leaves... it is elegant and modern, a scent that can not be missed in my collection is very well balanced. A beautiful and sophisticated violet-leather collar reveals itself in the drydown, the mimosa looks shy but there is... it's a swirl of notes and beautiful shades. I love this, and I can say it's among my favorites at The Different Company! I fell in love!!! Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8./10 Scent: 9/10 Overall: 9./10

What is this sparkling and fizzy opening, and where can I get more of it? I absolutely love how at first IMV is a not necessarily fresh, but still almost aquatic floral, and then very smoothly transitions to a floral leather. Damn good stuff.

Violets and champagne! I’ve never found a perfume that captures the scent (and feeling!) of champagne so effectively. It’s definitely a unique and interesting creation. No sad violets here - these petals are here to party!

My sample of I Miss Violet is my first experience with The Different Company, and I have to say I'm impressed. Like others have mentioned this is a pretty light scent in terms of sillage and longevity, but what it lacks in power it more than makes up for in its bold, unique scent profile. Smooth, soft suede and naturally sweet violets are the two main components to my nose, and they’re a match made in heaven, but many of the other notes are noticeable too throughout the development - it's a complex scent with lots of depth, without being incoherent. At first there's a great note of waxy lipstick iris, then there are lovely hints of green that waft up from time to time, and there's even a surprisingly fresh fruity aspect in there that provides a nice contrast to the sweetness of the florals. All in all I agree with Nooshin's review below: I Miss Violet is a wonderful choice for leather lovers who like their scents on the feminine side of unisex. I'm adding this to my decant wishlist too - I'm not entirely sure yet whether I think it's exceptional enough for its high price tag, especially given the disappointing longevity, but it's certainly lovely!

If you like violets, musk, iris, leather; and sweet creamy florals like champaca, and mimosa, I Miss Violet is exquisite. Very sweet--the first sniffs are typically sweet as sugared violets, but all if the other notes kick in quickly to smoothen the composition with a layer of dryness. The leather is always underscored by flowers, rather than dominating. There is a nice sprightly greenness, dewy grasses at sunrise are called to mind. The elements of this leather-caressed floral come together in a way that would bring vintage perfumes to mind, for nothing more than the blending--a smooth vanilla that reminds me just a bit of Guerlainade, and ambergris project sumptuously. But the mix smells modern, newer materials are surely used here. This and Violette by Molinard are 2 of my favorites--they have a magical sweetness juxtaposed with freshness, while staying flowery rather than woody. I love this, and I will miss her as well, unless I can nab a decant after I finish my sample.

First off, this is the lightest but most gently persistent perfume I own. So if you like your scents soft and complex, with definite stages of development, than try I Miss Violet. I would describe this as a green violet, it's fresh and pretty, but also quiet. There's no sillage or projection. I have noticed that IMV performs better in warmer weather, I would even say this is a summer only scent. When I first sampled this it was in the middle of winter and it disappeared within an hour. With heat, it develops slower and the complex drydown comes out. I get 3 hours total, and my skin eats scents so I consider that a success. I'm not able to pull out all the notes individually, only the violet, with leather and mimosa notes are distinctly noticeable. The drydown is a little earthier, but still very natural. Life is too short to wear mediocre perfume and this is not. I don't wear it often but when I do I'm always intrigued.

There are a lot of leathery fragrance that are suitable for men in my opinion. Now I found the good one for women. This beautiful fragrance has a complex mix of some flowers (specially violet), musk, leather and wood. Violet & its leaf make a lovely wet, green & cucumber-like odor which has the main role in the beginning moments till end. Here you can find very smooth, gentle & soft leather. Blend of Musk and wood made “I Miss Violet” base note. Good longevity, Moderate sillage. Suitable choice for all season & daily usage.

Fresh green violets as if plucked from a dew covered garden! But also has a hint of that lipstick candy nuance like Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle or Misa by Chanel. But unlike those two which are heavy and near head-ache inducing, I miss Violet is refreshing and light. Mixed with almost and effervescent character at first, fizzy to the nose. But as soon as it starts to dry down its smoothed out with a buttery suede nuance that is to-die-for!!! Girly, sweet, powdery, creamy....

Opening: Airy, light floral Dry-down: powdery, musky. Feeling: very feminine, soft, classy, summery The violet is very light and joyful in this fragrance. Great blend and a beautiful composition overall.

ترکیب ای از گُل ها رو در نظر بگیرید که در راس اون ها زنبق قرار داره یک زنبق خُشک و تلخ که در شروع پرچم داری می کنه و بسیار عبوس ظاهر میشه تمام اَرکان پودری این عطر خُشک و بی آب هستند؛انگار که تا آخرین درصد رطوبت اش رو کشیدند و به شکننده ترین حالت رسیده اند در شروع حجم وحشتناکی از بوی زنبق و بنفشه تلخ و خُشک به همراه یک آکورد اوزونیک که اون حس هوای تابستونی و خشک رو القا می کنه به مشام می رسه و باید با صبوری به انتظار تغییرات عطر بنشینیم فضای فلزی متصاعد از برگ بنفشه که بسیار قدرتمنده و شاید کمی حس اتو رو منتقل کنه یا طعم فلزی اسفناج و مواد غذایی آهن دار روند تغییر نُت های عطر بسیار کُند پیش میره و شاید تو نیم ساعت اول فکر کنید که با یک عطر خَطی رو به رو هستید اما این طور نیست جیر خُشک و چِغر به عطر اضافه میشه،از حجم تلخی و خشکی زنبق و بنفشه کاسته میشه،کمی رَگه های مشکی_وانیلی به عطر اضافه میشه که از اون جدیت اش کم می کنه و در مجموع میشه گفت یه روی خوش به مخاطب اش نشون میده در شروع من رو حسابی خسته کرد اما با تغییرات ای که درون اش اتفاق می افته،بیشتر ازش لذت می برم ارزنده است اما برای من نیست ************************ scent:7.5/10 longevity:7/10 sillage:6.5/10 purchase value:5/10 ******** overall:6.5/10

I feel like I'm smelling something completely different from everyone else. It's thick, overpowering, sweet. A mix of honey and hay. Molasses maybe? It smells like a barn on a hot day.

Me too! I mean I miss violet too! So obviously there wouldn't be any possibility that I miss a perfume with such a name from such a different company! The initial notes of IMV reminds me very much of Iris d'or by BVLGARI, which is not surprising. The pyramid of violet, iris and mimosa is already tried in perfumes for years. The result: powdery, a little sweet, nostalgic and cosmetics, specifically lipstick vibe. I quite enjoy it at this level. But the IMV chooses it's own way as it comes to middle notes and I just gotta say THIS IS GREAT! I get something sour, like sour dried fruits, mixed with mild flowers in a very well balanced way. It's a mixture of fruity,floral,musky,woody and leather and yet it's not too much of any of these notes. This is authentically different! As the times passes vanilla is being added in a moderate dose. I still enjoy it, but I guess I'm starting to miss violet. Totally, IMV is a very nice perfume who doesn't exaggerate on anything. Definitely without a monstrous sillage, which might be a good point and it doesn't have to be too robust to attract attention.I think I totally admire IMV.

Smelling this out of the bottle was delicious, and when I first put it on it was such a strong violet smell that I loved it! Less than 10 minutes later that died down to almost nonexistent. Then came the leather smell, which smelled exactly like a new car to me. Still, I'm thinking, "not bad!". But then came the dry down quickly after that. What I am left with is a very faint violet smell, but mostly I smell horses. I used to ride horses at my aunt's farm, and this smells exactly like a horse. I love that smell-when I'm actually riding horses-but I do not want to *smell* like a horse. I guess it's a good thing it was a miss for me, because of the price.

People, please stop making comments under an area that is supposed to be for 'reviews' if you have never even sniffed a scent. I've taken this one for a spin for a few days and find it a lovely soft leather scent that is compelling enough to make me sniff my wrist every so often as it suddenly gives off another waft of its notes. It is not a sillage monster, definitely ok for an office, and its longevity is pretty good, about 6 hours and sometimes a bit more. I don't really get any sweetness from it, a little bit dry and yet with some depth. I love violet and rank this as one that is fbw.

this was very reminiscent of Unicorn Spell by Leznez for me, but light and faint in comparison. Little green violet, touch of ice, and small leather. Super intimate and gracious, but a little weak. I only had a vial, and really wish I could properly test a spray of this. It is a shame I may not anytime soon. It is a little difficult to get. after a couple wearings I decided to say this smells like an identical Prada No 7, violette, but softer and probably more marketable as an intense violet with a background of leather (added zing).

It's surprisingly fruity and sweet (a slightly uncomfortable watermelon syrup vibe), and stays strong for a couple of hours, unlike most transparent character-less violets out there which last less than an hr. After the sweet fruitiness weakens, the soft leather becomes more noticeable and lasts for another 4 hrs.. The powdery iris stays consistent and light throughout.

Abhorrent... Lacking harmony, balance, and finesse. It doesn't only smell bad from a technical point of view, it smells also cheap. Sample went straight to the garbage. If you want an irisy violet scent crafted impeccably, try the magnificent Iris Perle by Les Indemodables instead. You wont regret it.

Light, green, and gone in 30 minutes It smells nice, a little soapy, good violet leaf at the start. As it began to open and evolve I was interested to see where it would go, but it just dissipated This might be perfect for someone who doesn't want to smell like they are wearing perfume

First sample: I was indifferent to this scent, but my husband turned an horrible shade of green when I waved my wrist at him. The violet is not subtle and there is nothing delicate about it. Rubbing alcohol hasn't removed the scent from my skin.

I really like this harsh violet powder. but It has a smell of cucumber pickles(ling spice). It is really irritating me...

I love the mimosa that comes through . Mimosa is the epitome of fresh fresh dewy spring smell in the air for me .
