Santo Incienso, Sillage Sacré

This is absolutely stunning! Not sure what some others here are smelling? Maybe it just doesn't work on their skin? But this is beautiful, light, natural and diaphanous and is exactly what I was expecting. It starts with a unique Bergamot note that is tinged in light incense, then not too long after that the Palo Santo moves in and stays for the duration. The opening is just beautiful and one of my favorite Bergamot openings. So soft and natural, not harsh and bright like some fragrances can be. It then moves more into the incense and Palo Santo and then the vetiver and cedar help ground it. It dries down around 3-5 hrs in and this lasted 12 + hours on my dry skin that hardly ever holds fragrance! Extremely shocked how long this lasts and how I can actually smell it the entire time. There are so many fragrances I've tried that most people report as heavy to super strong sillage and I barely can smell them. So this was a nice surprise. It was moderate to soft sillage, but is always there to my nose, and leaves the softest most beautiful trail behind me. But I guess since it's an extrait de parfum, it makes sense that it lasts forever. And all of this is coming from just a tiny little dabber sample from Luckyscent! Can't imagine how strong it will be when I can spray it on. I had a few people I work with who hate fragrances and get headaches even if I wear something super light and not offensive, tell me that I "smelled amazing today, and thanks for not wearing something that gives me a headache", haha! That is absolutely incredible. This is exactly as the perfumer was looking to do with this. It's ethereal and transformative and invokes a holy feeling, and a sense of calm. I'm actually glad it's not heavy handed and thick, it wouldn't be as beautiful. This is a beautifully stunning scent and I'll be buying a FB very soon. *Edit* Already bought a full bottle! Soooo good. Top 10 fragrance in my eyes! And this is ETERNAL! Lasts almost 24 hrs sometimes. And if you even get the tiniest bit on your clothes, that piece of clothing will have the most amazing soft scent for weeks! Incredible fragrance.

This is beautiful. On my skin it reads creamy woods, incense, citrus, and a little powdery. The bergamot opening is strong, but I also get the petitgrain and nutmeg nuances which smooth it out. The guaiac balances very well with the palo santo (contrary to popular belief, these are two distinctly different species of tree and smell differently). I'm a big fan of incense scents and this is light enough to wear in warmer weather. On the drydown it reminds me a little of Tam Dao with the creamy woods. It is also extremely similar to Wonderwood once the bergamot dries out. As another reviewer said, I'd be surprised if sandalwood were not in this.

This strikes me as a distant cousin of Shalimar. That contrast between the citrus and the balsamic, especially in the first hour. This is a major LOVE for me. A brightened, beautiful incense perfume with just the slightest coca cola with lemon sweetness and tang. Edit: After wearing this 5 or 6 times now, the performance is better than I initially thought. Especially if you spray while dressed and the mist hits your clothes. Got alot of compliments on Santo Inceienso and it seems like it trails quite a bit in the first few hours. People at work said I smelled clean and sexy, “slightly sweet and like soft leather” for what it’s worth.

WOW , Amazing Fragrance, Elegant, Classy, Woody, Spicy, Unique and Complex. In my opinion, This perfume has a masterful Well-blended Composition and I fell in love with it at first sniff ! Santo Incienso is on my Radar and I will buy it , I tried it in store and this one is the best of Different Company. It opens up with fresh spicy, citrusy, Spices and woody notes in the background then dry down is slightly smoky, warm spicy, balsamic resinous and woody. The Incense , Myrrh and Palo Santo notes are dominant in this Scent. Longevity is Average. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Different Company ! Rating : 8.5 / 10

It opens fresh and spicy, I almost smell ginger from bergamot + nutmeg combination - which gives that fresh spiciness. It's woody, warm, clean, smokey yet somewhat keeping the freshness. I totally get why this can be all time around perfume. Friendly to wear to work. Little bit remindes me of Byredo Gypsy water without the creamy woody feeling from it, so it was a better alternative for me when I like the first sniff of Gypsy water but get tired of the heavy creamy woody later on.

The best all weather incense in the market. It is bright, spicy and fresh, is a perfume that does not remind me anything else out there. Although it is not very strong, it stays on you and smells even after bath. A friend smelled this and said that is a perfume you fall in love with it!!

this is Palo Santo done right! the opening is gorgeous, the begamot, petitgrain and palo santo complementing each other and then the bergamot loses strength and gives way to a woodier and smokier version of the fragrance. The incense is never too strong to make it feel church-y.

Hello Le Labo Bergamot 22, what brings you to these parts?

Fascinatingly elusive and distinctive citrus-incense with more than a few mysteries hanging around it. Light and sheer and gauzy - an airy, slippery, almost evanescent wisp of a thing, from one angle. From another, a surprisingly dark and rich - but still transparent - undertow of myrrh and wood. For me it's bergamot and petitgrain always at the front, though - so much so that at first you could mistake it for a fast-vanishing, unusually eccentric citric eau de cologne. But then, the twist - or rather the first of many - as the resins begin to swell and ripen and mellow out after a few hours, growing warmer and rounder. Another enigma: at odd moments it seems to disappear completely, even disappointingly fast ... yet it clings onto my skin for 9h and more as the softest possible silk slip just for me. It never really 'projects' at all, in the sense of steaming up a palpable scent cloud, but it still trails out tantalising curls of incense smoke at completely unpredictable moments. Like Different Co's other hit with me, After Midnight, it can seem unambitious, even weak - then give you a jump-start of surprise as it does something entirely unexpected and reveal hidden strengths. Frustrating? Overpriced for what it is and what it does? Probably. Unique? I'm pretty sure. Unisex? 100%. Adaptable and wearable? Amazingly. Worth sniffing? Definitely. A puzzle, but one absolutely worth setting for your nose.

This totally reminds me very much of Penhaligon's Agarbathi, but with a bit more brightness at the opening and a bit more punch in terms of projection and longevity. Actually, if you lightly apply Tom Daxon's Resin Sacra and then generously spray Agarbathi over it, I imagine the result being something very close to this. For me, Santo Incienso is all about the palo santo note, accentuated by spices and resins into something that is at once soft, calming and meditative. Over the several (4-6) hours I get from a light application of Santo Incienso, I feel a small but persistent scent bubble of something reminiscent of expensive incense (unburnt) sitting on a backdrop of suede and delicate spices. It has the feel of something both borderline special and so blatantly inoffensive as to fit more or less anyone, anywhere, any time. This is another fine example of what I call olfactory comfort food. Not exciting, but exceedingly comfortable. Strong like, maybe even a love.

Lots of good note descriptions can be found on this page. I concur that Santo Incienso opens with zippy citrus and incense notes, then on my skin dries down into a woody vetiver. It’s so smooth that I thought sandalwood was in the mix. Hard to imagine anyone being offended by Santo Incienso. It has a natural profile, inoffensive sillage and combined low projection. After 20 to 30 minutes it’s a personal scent. Santo Incienso won’t win any originality awards but I think that’s also the point; sometimes you need a clean, easy spa-like scent when the world is at its most challenging.

Light. Airy. Fresh and sheer. Reminds me of summer air right after a heavy rain. No huge sillage and very little projection, yet it wafts softly. Continually. Nice.

Lots of fresh bergamot and petitgrain and also lots of deep incense and comforting vetiver. I like it very much even if woody scents aren't my favorite type.

Santo Incienso immediately reminded me of a few scents I love - Tam Dao by Diptyque, De Los Santos by Byredo, Escentric 3 by Escentric Molecules... it lies definitely somewhere in the same woody-aromatic universe, but the thing is, I can easily pass on it because I like all the other ones better. Santo Incienso is definitely the most citrusy of the bunch and leans a bit more masculine with the bergamot.

More vetiver than incense, with a lingering myrhhry sour note. The only thing that could justify the inflated price tag for this frag is that it tops up its middle-of-the-road, masculine-leaning incense notes with a pleasant-enough side serving of sandalwood. Although it has strong sillage, this fragrance is not one to set the bells ringing; more an inoffensive tinkle.

A light and airy vetiver, petitgrain, and unlit palo santo scent. A little citrus at the beginning, but it's fleeting. This is not a strong resinous churchy scent - it's more aromatic, herbal, papery, and clean. Very spa-like. I think it's well blended, but the sillage is lacking a bit. Overall, I like this but I dislike the pricepoint.

This reminds me of stairway to heaven by jul et mad. I liked this at first but im already bored by the second wearing. Its like a fizzy gin and tonic with a hint of citrus

Exactly what you’d expect from a woody/aromatic perfume, but somehow it just doesn’t interest me enough to like it more, it just okay, your casual everyday wear.

Alas, this long-awaited purchase has been a disappointment. This is supposed to be identical in formulation to Different Co's now-discontinued Le 15, which I adored. But when my new bottle of Santo Incienso arrived, it was immediately clear after one spray that something has changed. Everything is amped up in the reformulation -- what was once a very gentle, carefully blended scent now has a "screechy" edge (is it an overdose of Bergamot and cedar?) that just won't settle on me. And I don't get the lovely soft palo Santo vibe from Le 15. This is definitely not a question of memory, as I saved some of the Le 15 in order to compare. For me, not a keeper.

With all those incredible notes, I was definitely expecting something with more heft to it. This is like a very light cologne that opens with citrus that is far too strong and tangy for my palate, followed by some major chemical notes that give me a sinus headache. Hours into the drydown is when I notice a tiny bit of palo santo (I don't get why there is a guiac note and a palo santo note. They are the same thing), but it's flimsy at best. I usually love the perfumes from this house. This might be the first that I am not enjoying at all.

Opens with a juicy bergamot and petitgrain. Didn't get any nutmeg. The Palo Santo morphs in and out for me. Light smell, but only spray once or twice. After an hour it starts to smell like a citrusy floral with an underlay of wood, but not burning wood. By hour 6 it was giving me a headache. I'm going to try again with just one spray.

Some vague woody aroma, which is then mixed with musc. No creativity, no originality. I tried three scents from this brand, and all three were a disappointment. Thank God for samples!!!

i love this brand, particularly oriental lounge, and this one does not disappoint either. I love paolo santo and incense, and if it's mixed with bergamot, boom! I will be happy. Agree with below sentiments that it is softly spoken, nothing intense that you might chose for a night out but, it is one of those scents that envelop your personal space in a really subtle but present way. Soft santal and incense, but sparkling with the bergamot and nutmeg. I think the musk is also more prominent than the notes would suggest, it just whips all the other notes up into a cloudy airy musky concoction. Also soft florals on the drydown i couldn't pick out the hedione but it does smell like soft white flowers. Love it!

A bit disappointed with this one. Smells like a lot of other kind of mediocre palo santo scents that end up feeling like a papery, dry synthetic cedar/sandalwood aroma. There's a mild dusty, lightly spicy incense and smoke, but that's it's only point of interest so far. Petigrain and citrus do not jump out at me from my sample (maybe it's from an old bottle), although they are faintly there. Reminds me most of Abime by Maison Violet perhaps, with less depth to the layers and no black pepper. I'm honestly a fan of singularly woody, simple perfumes like this but I find this base accord a little lackluster. It dries down to something with a mild amberwood quality to it that I am kinda tired of.

On me this is a very light woody incense, not sure if I can work out the palo santo as a separate thing or not, but overall it is a smell that v much reminds me of churches. It's a kind of clean incense though, not really smokey like some. It's nice but for the price I'd like it to last longer. Also not sure I actually want to go around smelling like this. I would use this as a room spray (if I was made of money haha.) Addendum: I've come back to this one & suddenly love it. It is as I said before a kind of clean fresh incense, very airy, pure n meditative. Have used the decant up n want more..

I've been looking for a palo santo based scent that accurately represents the wood. This is just what I was looking for except that the palo santo woody-fruit is unfortunately accompanied by the screaming loud wood-alcohol note that I am finding in so many modern fragrances. Otherwise, the fruity, delicate scent of palo santa is as I had hoped it would be, but is completely ruined by that loud shrieky spikey rubbing-alcohol note. So disappointed.
