Dark Plum Vanille

summarized: if you loved mod vanilla in theory based on its notes but didn't actually *get* those delectable notes, get this. its like troughs of vanilla mousse peaking through corners of sugared, crystalline plum; a perfect blend of pillowy and juicy. expanded: this is very pretty and perfect for all weather. however, to me this scent is most reminiscent of a spring night with a gentle breeze careening through. during the day, ripened plums are dipped in vats of sugar and sat inside the fridge to crystallize. as night creeps, these plums are taken out and ready to serve atop a fluffy bed of vanilla mousse. the night wind is rejuvenating, but warm enough to make this sweet concoction room temperature. that is what this perfume smells like. it's a delicate combination of darkness and purity hand in hand. the scent bubble is dreamy enough to avoid being cloying, but it performs well enough to sit on your skin/clothes a while, 6+ hours in my experience. the silage seems average, though maybe i prefer scent bombs. and yes, it is better than mod vanilla. i feel like this must macerate to reach its full potential. smelling it right after it arrived it was very similar to mod in that it was a sweet sugary musk, with neither plum or vanilla being remarkably at the forefront. even at this stage though, the plum note was already a bit stronger and more present than in mod vanilla. however, the longer i have it, the stronger the plum and vanilla become in tandem with each other side by side. it's still a generally "light" scent nonetheless, but easily more remarkable than what it's duping. it's linear but perfectly so which makes it more wearable to me. its cheaper than mod(although less ml), smells better than mod(a much clearer presentation of its notes), and performs better than mod. get it!!! scent: 9/10 longevity: 7/10 silage: 6.5/10 plum tanghulu vibe: 10/10

The beauty in this perfume is in the drydown. Upon first spraying, it smells like a dimestore scent, but that fades within a minute or so. After that the other smells begin to warm up and within the half hour a wonderful powdery, cacao, musk and freesia kick in making it very warm and comfy and softly feminine. It is moderate in its longevity but it's also new and DUA takes about a month to really settle in. I was wondering how everybody was loving "Mod Vanilla" by Ariana Grande and thought I'd see what the fuss is all about. They were right, even the dupe is great!
