Dua Jake Cologne

This a great re-creation of Hollister's original formula of Jake. Fresh, citric-woody and likeable. I remember the brown bottle well. (You practically have to sell a kidney to get your hands on vintage bottle now.) While it was no "game changer" of a scent, it got compliments. It was also affordable. The current formulation is just a faint echo of what it used to be. Not sure what aroma chemical, or ingredient got banned that caused them to water it down so badly but it lasts about an hour on my skin these days. The Dua Jake lasts for about 4 - 5 hours tops on me before becoming a skin scent skin that sticks around for a good 8 hours. Be careful spraying this on clothing as it has some oil being an extriat. A good buy for anyone wanting to enjoy the old Jake every once in a while. I think that overall the price per ounce of Dua's offerings is pretty steep considering you're buying a clone of another fragrance. But, in this case - it's faithfully recreating a scent that now runs 200USD for a vintage (if you can find one) for under 40 bucks. That's a good buy to me considering I'm just enjoying a scent that I wore surprisingly often back in the day.

This DNA has always been special to me as Jake and CoolWater were the colognes that always really worked for me back in the day so when I saw DUA did a remake of it I was stoked !! They nailed the opening and the mid, as it has that tart,orangey,juicy opening that is just extremely pleasant !! Where the scents differ is the drydown. On my skin Jake always felt a bit flat in the drydown but DUAs version has really fixed that !! The drydown is very similar to the opening except it's not as fresh and juicy but rather more smooth,refined and balanced ! The drydown is actually my favorite part of the DUA fragrance which for Jake I only loved the opening and mid. Very well done DUA ! You not only captured a classic DNA but also beefed it up and made it better. Performance on this is actually pretty damn good ! It projects moderately for 2 hours but the sillage for me is excellent!! It lasts on my skin 8-10 hours. Also the first day I wore this a cashier complimented me even after 4 hours of application. Overall rating - 8.75 out of 10 ! I love that not only did they capture the pleasant vibes of the OG but also made it better.

Spot on the original Jake, but as with DUA it is potent. Very masculine and reminiscent of the 90s and early 2000s. Still relative for men who are 30s, 40s and 50s too. I love modern fresh scents but if you want that clean, put together masculine scent that isn't a a&f Fierce profile then get this. Yes I have had Jake and I can say it is as close as you can get, excellent job. It sells out on their site a lot for a reason.
