Liquid Mind Control

This is Dua Fragrances impression of Nasamotto Baraona. Baraonda is one of the best whiskey scents on the market. Whiskey, woody with a bit of musk. LMC is similar to Baraonda, but there are a few differences. The opening of LMC is very whiskey heavy, but there is a different background here. I get a coconut that has been drizzled with chocolate and honey that I do not get in Baraonda. In the beginning of drydown, the two scents get a lot closer, and warm whiskey and wood dominate. Several hour in the sweet almost chocolate-like note returns in the background. It is subtle but present. LMC is about 75 to 80% the same as Baraonda. A great impression that captures the essence of Baraonda, but adding in its own character. Like Baraonda, I get great projection and longevity on my skin. This can be worn in either formal or trendy casual attire. If you like whiskey scents you should try this one.

Love at first sniff and that does not happen often for me. The initial coconut blasts is very persistent and remains throughout the duration of the scent. Coconut is not listed but it's the key note. The whiskey note is the 2nd most noticeable along with smooth woods. Then way in the background is cypriol oil. Yep the key note in YSL M7. That adds to the ruggedness of LMC. It's a limited edition so I might grab 2 bottles. This is a true beast mode scent on my skin. Over 10 hours of longevity and the scent bubble is very apparent.

I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE!!! Im told it is a clone of Nasomatto Baraonda. I havent smelled Baraonda, however Dua's LMC is AMAZING! It boozy, coconutty and spicy. I have numerous Dua frags and this one is my favorite.

A weird one, by smell & name. Liquid Mind Control (LMC) smells spicy with a dusty, dried fruits accord. This combination smells, transiently, like burning wood. It's weird as I've said. It remains like that throughout. At the drydown, it gets a little coconutty without changing much. LMC is a weird but likable smell. To me, the name is more intriguing than the smell. A "Like" & pass from me.

So, this one is a clone of Nasomatto's Baraonda, one of the best liquor-based scents out IMO. That one is a whisky-forward, sweet, dense and loud affair but with clearly high quality ingredients. Liquid Mind Control (LMC) is not really all that similar, to me. It opens with a lot of resins and comes off a bit medicinal from the cypriol oil mixed with pretty synthetic smelling whisky top notes with some odd coconut notes overlaid. As it dries down you get a lot more of that sweet, resinous scent and it sort of resembles Baraonda in the far drydown. That said, I don't find LMC to be an ambroxan and Iso E bomb like the rest of the products put out by Dua, where so many of their scents post top notes smell like a fuzzy, screechy synth mess. Longevity on this one is strong, 8+ hours with a few hours of decent projection. This is a 7.25/10 for me. It's far worse if you're judging by how close of a clone it is. If you viewed it as an original creation, which it should have been released as, the score I gave it is fair as I think it's not super well-blended, you need to wait to the middle or later phases of drydown to get to a nice scent, and it comes across as not using the highest end materials to my nose.

Not a fan of this as I had hoped. Too much coconut scent even though it's not listed in the notes. I don't find that it smells anything like Nasomatto Baraonda which is why I bought this. There's also too much wood for my liking. Also, it's a skin scent after 4 hours. Update months later... THIS JUST SUCKS in my opinion. I tried it again last night before bed and I think it was the cause of my nightmares and terrible sleep - seriously.

It's a nice frag that does remind me greatly of an incense I used to burn when I was a kid in the 80's, not to reference resin or incense notes, just saying it bears a strong resemblance, had an instant recognition of this on the test strip. Definitely boozy with a powder aspect, I'd characterize it as thick, a likeable non-screechy powder to my nose, and I can see people really liking this tho it's not something I personally would wear. I think most people would find it very pleasantly intriguing. Did not project a lot off the paper and was largely gone after 8 hours which I have no problem with. I don't think it would be a beast in performance, but I'm not a fan of massive longevity in fragrances. I don't know what Baraonda smells like, and I don't get coconut out of this. Well worth trying, I'd say a must-try for people into these sorts of scents, it was a fun sniff right off the bat, but with the dry down just not something I would actually wear. Positive experience with DUA so far, I've tried two of their frags so far, both worthwhile, and am in the process of trying one or two more. If this is indeed comparable or very much like Baraonda, I'm glad there is a company that competes with some of these niche houses high prices, which are frustrating for the lower income of some of us in Frag Comm who don't have a lot of expendable income outside of hookers.

This is nothing like Nasomatto baraounda...it's extremely harsh oud and rose heavy scent... some people swear by it but somehow it's off-putting for me...it's just my opinion... the performance is extremely good... beyond eight hours

A linear blast of pungent and honeyed coconut that keeps ramming your olfaction for good 7-8hrs. Couldnt stand it.
