Pure Santal

This is such a beautiful fragrance. There's nothing boring or mediocre about it. It's creamy and smooth and so, so beautiful. It's slightly powdery too. Its completely unisex. This is the perfect sandalwood fragrance and I've been on the hunt for one for a while now. Great for wearing on its own and perfect for layering too. I own well over a hundred DUA's, and I've tried over two hundred. This is my second favorite DUA ever. This one is NOT to be missed. And it can be worn day or night, and because it's not too heavy, it can be worn in any season.

Opening is a creamy synthetic sandalwood and white musk. And that's it all the way to the dry down. Linear, clean, and bland. Very minimalist. Good for layering, specifically as a base. It reminds me of Molecule 04, which I assume it probably shares a similar chemical composition. I haven't smelled LV Pur Santal, but if it's anything like this, ooh boy what a waist of money! I purchased this fragrance directly from the Dua website, with a discount, for a little over 30 bucks, and that's exactly how much it should cost.

Light and airy sandalwood and musk combo. Moderate sillage after a few minutes when warmed by your skin. 12+ hour longevity. I have not smelled the LV version and I am not able to comment on their likeness to each other. This has a similar vibe to Santal Carmin but without the leather or vanilla nuances. I was hoping for something similar to The Art of Shaving’s Sandalwood, but this is not quite it; however, this will complement the after shave very well. This is very basic and begs to be layered, but smells really good on its own, too. As unisex as it gets. You won’t smell like anyone else around you, but you may not get noticed either. This is a totally safe blind buy and probably is a good understudy to the original.
