Vintage Vanille

The first few hours of this are a gentle, powdery, woody sweet vanilla. My partner loves it, they rarely compliment something I’m wearing bc they’re a bit sensitive to smells and I, of course, overdo it. But they were sitting next to me sharing our morning cup of joe after a gentle yoga session together (so I was very warm) and said “whatever you have on smells amazing” it was one spritz of this into my elbow crease from last night—which actually smells quite different than the initial dry down. Today my elbow crease smells like sunburnt leather in a mid aged vehicle and very ambery. Whichever amber accord sometimes smells chemically to people, it leans that way a bit and towards yellow flowers. Kinda reminds me of what I think ambergris is supposed to smell like. Amber and musky, inescapably/cloying so but not very sweet. Dips into acetone territory to my nose, but not enough to hate it. I have a fresh spray on my wrist bc I thought I was going crazy and yeah the fresh spray smells completely different than the warmed up dry down. Powdery, fluffy and dry. The worn for a few hours dry down is dense, heavy, and clingy. So I’d say for a cheapie this fragrance develops quite interestingly depending on body chemistry.

I finally went full throttle and sprayed my skin 6 times with this and there’s something camphorous about it? Its not quite acetone like I said a few weeks ago but instead smells medicinal like Vicks vapor rub or straight up camphor. I don’t hate it (lol?) but its weird. I think it fades on the dry down or just blends with the amber enough to not smell like I was brewing potions in my kitchen.

The Labdanum completely ruins this fragrance. Smells like stale sick/ old vomit.

It's great at first but turns sour after an hour and smells like vomit.
