Cypress Shade

I have to admit that I was sceptical about this perfume, I mean I was unsure if the beauty of the bottle (it is gorgeus!) reflected the quality of the juice or if it was just a "marketing trap". This perfume got me. really, I LOVE this perfume. There is just something in it that attract me a lot. Once i tested it I needed to have it! I find this perfume versatile, I can wear it all year round and on all occasions! It ́s not a "beast" in perfomance but it lasts quite a bit. It ́s subtle but noticeable, let ́s say that this is truly office friendly. It is not weak, just it not project like a "monster" but the longeivity is decent. This perfume is perfect under spring but, as i said, it works very well all year round, no exceptions! Cypress Shade is also truly unisex and perfect for daytime as well as a night scent. Everybody can wear this! I have not yet tried other scents from this house so I can not really say much about the house, but THIS perfume is awesome even if it is not loud, but you know , I don ́t always need a loud perfume, sometimes a more discrete perfume is prefereable. I think that the mimosa note does the trick in this case while the vetiver add freshness. I also get the banana smell that other users have noticed. What can i say, a very unique unisex scent wereable in any occasion! Great job!

Forests, lights and shadows Cypress Shade - THoO is a fresh woody floral scent. In the opening you can feel the smell of mimosa, not at all a citrus sensation. Compared to other brands that one sends you on the label, another you feel in the air, the name of the perfume this time reflects exactly what you receive. A green bouquet that sends you thinking of a path through the forest that you cross in the summer sun, after a heavy rain. The perfume is unisex, it manages to reconcile both camps with both floral and woody tones. It is by no means a dark creation, on the contrary. A little soapy, the perfume gives a clean, fresh feeling, not being linear. Maybe the only fault I can find is the price. Quite high compared to the performances I see a little above average. But it recovers in the presentation. Hand-painted bottles, unique in their kind... although they keep the same theme. Extra creativity. Natural essential oils are also in their place and offer quality in addition to the composition. The predominant notes from my point of view, mimosa, mint, petit grain, cedar and vetiver. A cheerful fragrance that can be worn by anyone, especially in spring and summer, due to the green tones.

First blast of musky spiced dark greens with a hint of tropical yellow flowers. Dries down to a sweeter banana leaf. Taking a look at the notes and that must be the mimosa, a note I haven't yet encountered. Evokes lovely images of a cool summer day sitting in a shaded grove of trees, very fresh very green and yet held to earth by a darker woody base. Supremely lovely! Strong projection at the outset and I'll give this one some patience regarding the longevity, as I've learned from this house. After an hour, the dry down presents a spicy vetiver. Unisex and great for warmer weather days and nights. 6+ hours later: It's dried to straight up linear vetiver. Too bad it can't stay in that cool grove of trees all day.

This is a beautiful green and unique fragrance. It’s a fresh mimosa, petigrain and vetiver dominant fragrance that dries-down as a musky wood scent. The mint and citrus keep it lively and tropical smelling, like a sparkling tonic cocktail with mint leaves floating on the top. This is probably the best green fragrance I’ve smelt since it’s not a short-lived linear green - this has depth from being grounded by the musk and woods. This is delicious! A fresh, clean but warm and interesting unisex scent that’s good all year round - it’s fresh for the summer but also comforting for the winter. A winner!

A beautiful green aromatic Oriental woody creation, this is a beautiful unique powdery creation from The House of Oud. The perfume opens with citrusy aromatic notes of lemon, bergamot, mandarin orange and star anise. The heart is a green aromatic blend of petitgrain, mimosa, coriander and mint. The perfume settles into a powdery woody cedar, vetiver and slight Oud. Unisex masculine leaning with moderate sillage and very good longevity. Like an oasis in the desert dunes, this one is a refreshing Oriental offering. Enjoy!

I was surprised to smell banana in here! It's elegant and reminds me of weekend vacation at a resort under the clear blue skies. Very wearable on an uncomplicated day.

Such a nice fragrance. Green and unique! I can imagine my self walking in the nature, under the trees and wearing this.

Cypress Shade is another creative yet wearable perfume from The House of Oud. I am quite taken with this brand - the beautiful bottles lured me in initially, but the scents within have kept me entranced. It is not at all the scent I expected - instead of being a fresh, green scent, it is actually banana-dominant, despite it being omitted from the notes list here - something I thought I would dislike, but in actual fact is pleasant and adds a slightly tropical effect. CS opens with sweet mimosa, a note I love when done well, freshened with citrus notes. The anise adds a sweet-spicy edge that develops as the opening progresses. I don't always like aniseed, and certainly not to eat, but as a well-placed perfume note, it can be beautiful - case in point. The prominent banana note emerges early on, sweet and realistic. The mint note adds its unmistakable freshness as it develops, but is thankfully restrained. Mint dominates very easily and always reminds me of toothpaste, but here it is fresh and herbal, reminiscent of peppermint tea. There is a greenness in the background, providing a nice counterpoint to the sweetness of the mimosa and banana, and paving the way nicely to the woody drydown. The banana prevails. It becomes woody as it dries down, with dry, grassy vetiver coming to the fore. The mint remains, giving a light, airy freshness, and remnants of the florals keep it slightly sweet, but the banana effect remains until final fade. It is surprising, but works. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. Another unusual gourmand (thanks to the dominant banana note, this is a gourmand to my nose!), this is an unusual scent that would work well for summertime. Feminine-leaning due to its sweetness. A left-of-centre yet wearable tropical scent. 3.5/5.

Cypress Shade is an intriguing, complex, multilayered scent without a doubt! I am saying this because it has two distinct facets. The initial, opening phase where it’s very green, sharp, slightly bitter, slightly earthy and more masculine smelling and the mid to late dry down phase where it smells very buttery, yellow floral, creamy and literally like bananas (before getting too ripe and sugary sweet)! It’s a like for me because of its opening, but after about half an hour, it’s beautiful and unique. I am completely perplexed that ylang ylang is not listed as one of the heart or base notes. Ylang ylang is the note that smells like bananas the most in perfumes and I could swear that this tropical flower gives Cypress Shade this beautiful buttery, creamy accent. I am surprised to discover that it has no cypress listed in composition but the scent it’s called Cypress Shade...Thanks to the combo of mint, petit grain leaves, cedar and vetiver the nose created an almost realistic green, woody accord. Mimosa, star anise and the trio of citruses cut through the harshness and greenness of the initial spray and offer a nice citrusy, floral, more feminine heart. Performance is kind of mediocre, lasts well, especially on clothing, but sits close to the skin. The bottle though... simply amazing. If you’re into unique packaging and you love colours, you’re in for a treat with Cypress Shade... It’s a half and half combo of vibrant green and warm yellow, shiny, very eye catching paint!

As subtle as this fragrance is, it smells quite nice. The green and citrus notes are bright and fresh smelling, it paints a picture of when dandelions first start to pop up in the spring. The mimosa note gives it a sweet and fuzzy quality that perfectly ties it together. Although I’m a bit confused by the votes because the sillage is VERY low on me.. not sure if I got a bad batch or didn’t spray on enough? I wish this performed better because it could be a spring signature scent.

Ha ha .. It opens with the banana flavor you find in yogurts! Then it settles in a soap, citrusy of mandarin bergamot and coriander. Fresh of mint and anise that lighten in a transparent and raw way, a sovereign mimosa. Mimosa at first aromatic, green and dewy, then sweeter, dirtier and warmer than vetyver. Totally feminine like a tropical tuberose bubblegum and green stems, with the consistency of a transparent shampoo at the beginning and then woody, talc, a little lacquer in the drydown. However, I get a pleasant luminous trail, a crisp, disengaged thread. Daytime, narcotic and persistent, in a soapy green 80's style, perfect in the first sunny spring days and cool evenings. Not bad. Very nice drydown!

Cypress Shade is an interesting combination of culinary spices and earthy woods, but never quite an aromatic cypress. It opens with savory spices that would have almost been melancholic if not for some short-lived sour fruits lifting the scent. Earthy, almost smokey soft woods emerge gradually, made heavier by persisting cooking spices. The woody presentation smells natural but weighed down. Overall, Cypress Shade is a peculiar woody scent which is not a safe blind buy. An interesting smell to be sure, and perhaps unique enough to be a signature for some, though not my jam personally.

Fresh cut grass and light pepper. Unique and quite bold. Not sure if it’s wearable though, maybe on a hot summer day or a dry spring day. Unfortunately my least favorite THoO perfume though. To me, Live in colors is the superior summer scent of the two summer-y ones, however this one is more potent with greater sillage and longevity.

It is pretty weird on my skin, some kind of note not sure what it is..others said it is banana like..not sure but not so plesant. However it is okay for daily usage, it lasts about 4-6h on my skin but projection is intimate. ..biggest plus is beautiful bottle ..love it.

Green and soapy for me. This is my first time sampling anything from this house. The blending is excellent, and it definitely smells high quality but it’s a little bit too green for my liking. Here’s the notes I get: dewey green notes (fresh cut leaves, grasses, green melon) soapy florals (the mimosa maybe?) the citruses are very light and not noticeable. I can smell the mint, it’s not a strong mint. It’s cooler almost cucumber like, perhaps the smell you’d get when mint is in a mixed drink with gin. This is easily unisex, perhaps leaning a bit feminine on me.

Immediately after pushing, the scent of chemicals is strong. A little mint, muddy mimosa and bitter citrus ... like licorice. It has a strong grassy feel rather than a forest. Bitter grass from beginning to end.

Unfortunately, this wasn't for me bc I really don't like liquorice or star anise in perfumes, and the latter is very prominent and overrides the composition. Good quality, nevertheless.

My least favorite THOO i have tried so far. Very strange, not in a good way.

نوتهای مختلفی برای عطر سیپرس شِید ردیف شدن و اینجوری بنظر میرسید که با یه کار شیپق پر و پیمون طرفم؛ اما یادم رفته بود که صحبت از برندی در میونه که تا حالا چیز خاصی از فضای کاراش توجهم رو جلب نکرده. این عطر همه چی و سطحی و سرسری ارائه میکنه. اگه بخوام منصف باشم باید زمان حضور حدود 8 تا 10 ساعته ی این عطر رو پوستم رو به دو بخش تقسیم کنم. بخش اول که همه چیز خیلی سریع اتفاق می افته تا عطر به پایه ای چوبی و کمی تمیز برسه که با حالتی سبز و آروماتیک همراهه. سیپرس شِید در بخش اول نمایش همه ی روایح رو خیلی زود از مشام شما میگذرونه: سیتروسی، سبز و کمی تمیز بر بستری خامه و روغنی. بی هیچ عمق و بی هیچ هدفی؛ مرکبات و فضایی آروماتیک در کمتر از ده دقیقه میان و میرن و از این لحظه به بعد شما می مونید و بویی خامه ای، کِرِم مانند و کمی چرب که تازگی و طراوت کمی هم در حاشیه هاش احساس میشه. همونقدر که همه چی بسیار بی هدف و نامشخص رخ میده؛ با بویی سبز و آروماتیک از نعنا و ریحان، فضای خامه ای رأس کار به حاشیه میره و زمینه برای نمایش سدر با حالتی تیز و وتیور با حالتی گیاهی و کمی خاکی فراهم میشه. از این لحظه به بعد، سیپرس شِید عطری با توهماتی از چوب و سبزی و تازگی میشه و تا ساعتها به مشام میرسه. اونچه که در بالا عرض کردم ممکنه این تصور رو ایجاد کنه که این عطر بازی پرفراز و نشیب و جذابی داره اما برای من یه کار عجول، سر در گم و بی سر و ته بود که میخواد در همون دقایق نخست دلبری کنه. یه عطر معمولی و بسیار پایین تر از استانداردهای مد نظرم. کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

I was in Los Angeles last weekend and paid a visit to the Scent Bar(Luckyscent). I seen the line of House of Oud fragrances and pretty much lost my damn mind. At this point, I didn't care if i liked the fragrance or not, I knew for a fact that i was walking out with one of these fascinating bottles. Out of the entire line, this is the one that hook, line and sunk me. So what is this bottle of enthrallment? Cypress Shade is an oudless/spicy/wannabe woody/Paul Mitchell hairspray smelling concoction. It's not the green machine the bottle wants you to believe but instead toe dances its way to the faux cedar side of things. The anise is definitely the saving grace to an otherwise very basic scent. In all its pouffy glory this could work very well for a woman. The velour quality and its non-intrusive behavior will win over the dainty crowd for sure. In short, this is a better bottle than it is fragrance(see House of Sillage for reference). A side note: Don't sleep on Wind Heat. That's the one i probably should of purchased instead.

It hits you with a blast of sweet, musky, iris for the first ten minutes. The iris is wet, green, but there is still a lingering dusty/powdery quality to it. Overly sweet petitgrain and florals stick out to me in the mid, this is by far the most feminine portion of Cypress’s journey on my skin – not really a fan of this at all as it’s sweet, delicate, but still vibrant enough to annoy me. Throughout the life of cypress on my skin, I was reminded by how smooth the whole composition was, there’s no point where it turns astringent, chemical, and I could not pick out any synthetics. Even in the drydown, it’s still a hearty composition with vetiver and cedarwood taking center stage well into the 12th hour. I have to say, there are some people out there that would absolutely love this; if you’re a musky-iris, yellow-florals lover.

THOO did an amazing job at capturing what they intended: The cooling breeze by the shade under cypress trees. This scent has a distinctive herbal minty damp character to it. The fresh-cut wood and shy oud aspect is nonintrusive, allowing the main focal point to be the coolness of the spices, citrus, and minty vetiver. There is a strong bouquet consisting of mostly a gorgeous mimosa (the true star here, in my opinion) and some iris, with a whiff of petitgrain. This scent manages to stay smooth and relaxing from start to finish, which is a milky woody anise vetiver. The transition from heart to base is impeccable. Quite the scenic show. Strong love!

The fresh, green scent of a springtime garden. A delicate balance between sweetness and sourity that's perfect for any occasion or no matter what your mood! The top notes are mostly citrusy, with bergamot and lemon leading the way. In addition to these juicy fruits we get deliciously pungent star anise that greases your mouth just right when you first smell it before moving onto coriander for some added spice in this perfume's middle ground - mint leaves come out too as well giving sweetness throughout all levels of scent while mimosa adds freshness on contact without being overbearing like other florals might be sometimes known at their worst.

The direction here seems pretty clear. The concept that's supposed to come across here is lying in the shade of a tree, dew in the grass around you. And there are aspects that work--the woody cedar is done gently, and the mint has a vegetal aspect that plays nicely and avoids being overly sweet. But I found an indistinct fruit chord, which struck me as more stone fruit than citrus, that overwhelms any interesting spice or floral characteristics. There's something interesting going on here, and progression the fragrance goes through over 8+ hours is perhaps worth experiencing, but it feels like something more was intended.

I get banana too! Like a reviewer has said previously. A fresh, genuine ripe banana. I think it may be the mimosa actually, I've had this feeling before. It is a yellow floral tropical, with a tart vetiver and soft spices. It is very unique, sweet but fresh and a little green too. Bubble gum crossed my mind also but it's not synthetic at all, very realistic sweetness of ripe fruit, but in a breezy, floral kind of way. It's ripe but still on the tree! Spring summer fragrance smell: 7/10 I just love the opening, might be the mimosa but it smells just lovely. Get some freshness from the bergamot as well. Green. Leans a bit masculine imo. It smells fresh but different from most other fragrances and is pretty unique. Silage 4/10 Longevity 4/10

An immediate bubblegum scent without being realistically floral or tuberose-like. Followed by vegetal notes and greenery. Not as in sharp though. Dries down to a candy-like fruitiness and powdery white musk. Can't really understand what this scent was supposed to accomplish?

ahh i like this one please dont dry down and be super lame fingers crossed, what a rad mix of flavors going on here. Its very hard to make a freshie smell natural, differnet, and good at the same time so far its ticks all three
