Revel

I just received this with a purchase of Dream by The Maker, and I could smell it before I even opened the tiny, triangular box it comes in. WOW! I knew straight away that I liked it. In reading the previous comments, I can smell the L'Oreal kids' shampoo someone else described, and, again, that isn't a bad thing at all. I sprayed once and fell in love, so I had to spray three more times. I've been smelling my wrists and arms ever since! I'm not much of a tropical/fruity girl, but this is something altogether different. I can't imagine that a vehicle that smells like this would be a bad thing, but I usually gravitate toward musky/oud scents in my vehicle. It doesn't smell masculine to me at all, but everyone's individual body chemistry changes a scent. So far, I'm loving Revel.It does remind me of Wild, also by The Maker, but Wild isn't as fruity as Revel, and I have both now. I have yet to smell a scent created by The Maker that I don't love: Dream, Revel, Naked, Wild, Paradiso, and Lover are all fantastic in their own right for different reasons.

I don't really get any of the opening notes in this, and its definitely more of a gardenia perfume to me. Its a nice perfume don't get me wrong, but its shampoo-y and clean, which is not really my taste. It can be a little overpowering, especially in high heat

Finally finished my 2ml of this and after much delibaration, my thoughts are as follows. Let's start with the marketing campaign of this. I was very excited to receive their newsletter about their new summer release. Excited to try because I have always ended up steering away from the fruity summer fragrances, I thought surely The Maker would be one of those rare instances in which I would end up loving a tropical fragrance. I wore it through work shifts and meals out with friends and even at home. I ultimately decided this was just too soft for my liking. Now do take this with a grain of salt, because those around me gave me whole different perspective of it. I felt I went a bit nose blind to this after about an hour and it was a very intimate coconuty musk that I could get only if I put my nose to my arm. My coworker opposed and said she could absolutely smell me and even went to say she got a sort of coconut vanilla vibe from it, which according to her experience with testing the same fragrance, was very different on her skin. At the end of the day, I love The Maker as a brand and belive they do not miss. They make fragrances for every taste, you just have to find which suit your interests more. I have decided to steer clear of getting a full size as I know I won't be really reaching for it. Maybe I'll revisit as a travel spray somewhere down the road but for the now, I don't think I need this in my collection. Do try though! It was a pleasant scent and everyone seems to be having different feelings about it. The Maker offers a wonderful scent library for a great price on their website!

I really, really like this. It's bright, fruity and floral but dries down to something that is somehow both a little spicy and clean. I don't really pick up any particular notes, but this feels a little too heavy to me for warm weather. Regardless, it's complex and beautiful and I found myself actively sniffing my arm all day.

Wow what an incredibly beautiful classy floral fruity fragrance! Smells pretty similar to mojave ghost in the opening but then takes it's own musky floral dna in the dry down becoming less fruity but maintaining that sparkling light airy nature all throughout
