Ko Meme

I tried the full discovery set from Saltworks and Ko Meme was such a standout. On first spray it's bright and jammy, not sure if I get notes of plum, but there's a definite warm fruitiness to the fragrance. This settles on my skin quickly and almost immediately rounds out to a warm, sweet, and mildly smoky perfume. Relatively gourmand, this captures the essence of a negroni in a jazz bar with incense hanging in the air. The perfect balance of sharp, sweet, and musky. It's the kind of perfume you would smell on the back of someone's neck, a girl who you won't stop thinking about until you get home. The amber, which is delightfully present with good longevity, evokes a sensual nostalgia. Like a classic little black dress; Ko Meme is sexy yet sophisticated. A warm and inviting scent, this smells like the women I wanted to be as a child, the kind who burns sophisticated candles in her refined Bohemian flat. Easy to wear and easy to love, Ko Meme sinks through your skin and finds a place in your heart.

Loads of people love this, and if fruity gourmand pudding scents are your thing, then honestly you probably will too. For me, it is very loud and .. sadly just a bit generic. It is the fragrance definition of 'fine'. Nothing bad about it, but there is just an infinite number of similar fragrances that... just have a little more life to them? Personally I just find it a bit overly sweet and heavy. On the plus side, the longevity and projection are amazing! It really is worth a test if you are a gourmand lover though, my opinion doesn't reflect most, so possibly skin chemistry is a factor here?

Not sure if I had a dud in the discovery set, but this one just smelled kind of off. Maybe I'm noseblind to one of the notes. Disappeared after a few minutes, too. Didn't really see the hype!

Urgh. This perfume has the personality of a wet dishcloth. What a waste of space it is! Boring, overdone, "nice fresh washing smell". It paints a picture of relaxing by the fire at home, but it has about as much to do with fire that I do with being dead. This perfume actually makes me want to be dead, as that would probably be more exciting than wearing this drab excuse for a perfume. I absolutely hate it. It simply makes up the numbers in the discovery set. It is supposed to be their 10 best sellers in the set. I am not sure why Ko Meme sells well. Who the fuck is buying it? Who wants to smell like a bored housewife, who needs to fuck the 60 year old neighbor to feel a semblance of risk and fun? Wear this perfume if you want nobody to notice you, as you seamlessly blend in with all of the other gray bastards who enjoy contemporary, unimaginative, dull perfumery. Even more boring than Juliette Has A Gun's "Ode To Dullness", which is quite a hard feat to achieve, seeing as that perfume is literally about something incredibly boring. Just have a shower with some common, cheap shower gel and then put on a jumper that's just been washed with some flowery fabric conditioner from a middle-tier supermarket. Don't waste money on Ko Meme. Saltworks can do much better scents. I personally believe that perfume is not gender specific, but I can't see any tail wearing this and liking it. It even surprises me that the no tails like it. Perfumery can be, and is, so much more than this. 1/10. It is scents like Ko Meme that make me feel extreme hate. Uninspired, soft and compliant. It destroys art.
