Tabac Soleil

This is exceptionally nice. I don't have Tobacco Vanille, but I do have Jazz Club, and while I love Jazz Club I think I like this just a wee bit better. While the tobacco note in Jazz Club is smokey, albeit smoothed with vanilla, Tabac Soleil's tabac is more like the flower - sweeter but still complex, warm and almost gourmand with the vanilla and spices. The spices, I should note, are heavenly. I get what the reviewer below said about mulled wine, but oddly this gives me more of a sophisticated "Dr Pepper" vibe. Don't laugh! Dr Pepper's recipe contains vanilla as well as amaretto, liquorice, clove, ginger, juniper, nutmeg, and pepper, among other spices. I think there is definitely clove, nutmeg, and pepper in Tabac Soleil's spice mixture and maybe some of the others. In any case, the effect is actually pretty wonderful. Tobacco blossom, tobacco, vanilla, and the best parts of a spiced Victorian phosphate. It's unique, very wearable, and kind of addictive. Purple Haze is my favourite from Saltworks, but this, French Fig, and Pomegranate Amber are tied for second. So many lovely scents from them!

I'm really impressed with this! I know some people have said it's summery but to me this is pure Christmas. We are talking Christmas tree up, mulled wine, wrapping presents Christmas. Would have loved it if they'd leant far more into the tobacco and really made it an intense spice instead of somewhat sweet. But I love this nonetheless and will absolutely be returning in December to it.

Fantastic sweet tobacco Better than Tobacco vanille for me because, this one is a perfect balance of sweet and spice. High quality indeed Addicting

i blind-sniffed it and totally thought there is cherry in there. i assume the notes of lemon and tobacco blossom give off a pleasant cherry accord. the good thing about it is that this fragrance is quite linear, which means that this hint of cherry stays for a very very long time - for me it's a win, as it is often hard to achieve with all those fruity scents that open up nice and juicy and then just turn into something barely noticeable within minutes. while it's nice on it's own (albeit sweet), i just love to layer it with earl grey & cucumber from jo malone. it creates a concoction reminiscent of a fruity tea blend (dry, not steeped), or the smell of a tea store - just a half of it though, there is not enough depth and notes for it to be a full shop, but it's certainly enough to make me feel cozy. instant moodmaker, i kid you not. when it comes to longevity, it might be the best out of all the saltworks' scents i've tried (men's discovery set), so i'm considering buying the 10ml bottle just for the purpose of layering

This is an interesting scent for sure. It's immediately mood-boosting, dopamine-inducing, warm, delicious, and intense. You only need one spray to last the whole day. I love the subtle citrus and spice. There is also something herbal/medicinal about it that I am ambivalent about, cloves? Somehow though it just makes the scent more interesting. A few days in to the tester and I find I am craving this perfume, it's so delicious-smelling and addictive. A lot sweeter than my normal taste — I would go as far as gourmand— but the tobacco is just so gorgeous with it. I think less is more with this fragrance, it’s so so strong (with only one spray!) and lasts an age. It’s definitely more for autumn/winter. I’ve ordered myself a 10ml bottle now so I can enjoy it for longer!

Ok.. anyone from the UK used to have those yellow, herbal, oblong cough sweets once upon a time? (aware they still sell them in places I just associate them with the older generation lol) cos this is what Tabac Soleil smells like in the opening. I called them granny herbals I don't know if that's a common name for them haha. Strange but nice, herbal tobacco. One of the stronger ones in the discovery set (along with the free sample of Sun Garden that blew my face off near enough) but it settles into quite a nice warm smoky vanilla, vaguely reminiscent of BTFP which is a favourite of mine. Lasted a good 12 hours on my wrist, minimal sillage after a couple of hours though.

Good to see Saltworks finally here! 😊 I have many... Ok, so this one I love.. as do those around me. By definition it is a smoky cold weather scent, and it actually does the job beautifully!! Less heavy and screechy than MM By The Fireplace, and a little more depth than TF Tobacco Vanille (def less sickly), the fruity note in this kind of brings the smoky DNA alive.. tobacco can be an extremely boring scent on dry down, but this settles more into incense territory...? Definitely worth a test if it is your kind of scent DNA 😊

Vanilla lasts during dry down and turns into an ambery sweet bodied fragrance. Slightly more feminine, but still unisex. The vanilla body lasts for a good 6 hours but the spice has faded after about 4. I did however still have to buy a full bottle for winter 😁

I got a discovery set of some of Saltworks’s fragrances as a gift and Tabac Soleil was included as part of it. Tobacco Vanille is a scent I know and love, and Tabac Soleil feels like it’s half sister. Definitely brighter and less woody and dark than TV. Would be a nice dupe!

Aptly named! This is a warm sweet tobacco and white flowers? hint of vanilla? Excellently blended, cannot differentiate notes well. It's potent and it projects well. Very different to anything out there. One of the best for Saltworks.

Update on my previous review.. I do really like this one still, but was interested to find it smells MUCH better on him than me! It makes a really excellent, smoky, sexy, male fragrance! 😊

sweet and sexy and summery but not girlish. It's more earthy than that, but not too heavy because of it. strong vanilla throughout

I do not enjoy tobacco notes in perfume. Ever. So testing this was going to a struggle from the start. However, I have to say it is gorgeous scent. Warm, spicy, cosy evening scent, sweet and smoky, without smelling like a pub. Really mood-boosting and I can see it being a fine choice. Not for me, as it gets a little much for me personally, but nice. Longevity and projection are great on this one. All in all, good fragrance for those who enjoy hint of tobacco.

It's okay. Definitely the nicest one from the discovery set so far! Smoky vanilla. It's a linear scent without much depth and not my sort of notes, but it has decent sillage and longevity. It almost lasts all day, which is much longer than the other Saltworks scents I've tried so far. I won't buy a full bottle though, it's not intricate enough and I perssonally don't really like tobacco.

I personally struggle with Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, but for TV lovers this is really close for 1/3 the price. 2.5/5

It's too much. It's a sickly, vanilla aggressive scent with the slightest hint of dryness in the background to excuse its ridiculousness. It permeates everything, even with the lightest spray. It's one dimensional and ultimately very boring. Never again.

I love this! My fave so far from the sampler set, all I can say is wow! Couldn’t stop sniffing it! It’s warm, inviting, sensual, so many layers to it. This so far will be my full bottle buy with the £25 off full bottle coupon but loads still to try. I thought I’d gravitate to brown sugar but nope...,this so far is the star of the show ❤️

This is just perfect winter Christmas scent. It opened with a fanfare of medicinal cloves and spices, which knocked my socks off. It's a punch to the senses in the most delicious unusual way. In the drydown it softens and the vanilla comes through. I truly loved this and am putting in an order for a large bottle of this immediately!

Smells similar to Dior’s tobacolor , without the fresh plum dry down maybe, still a smooth citrus -tobacco fragrance. Smells classy.
