Papa

I've been using fragrance on my great-grandson since he’s been with me. Of course, it started with baby lotions and oils, but eventually progressed to the men's testers I would receive with perfume purchases or spritzes of what I was wearing for the day. He was my official perfume tester. Now, at four-years-old, he expects to "smell good" daily and unfortunately had grown exceptionally fond of Baccarat Rouge 540, Oud Satin Mood, and Intoxicated by Kilian. I took a chance and ordered him his own cologne that came in a Spiderman case. He loved having his own spray – and it smells very good. Since that went so well, I purchased the set of four Smurfs Blue Style Perfumes, the individual bottles of Smurfette and Papa Smurf and the bubble bath. He picks the one he wants each day from his own collection. All the “kids” scents I’ve purchased have surprisingly good fragrances – better than I expected.

Somewhere between unisex and masculine with a balsamic undertone and a generic shampoo scent. It doesn't deserve more dislikes than likes so I'll contribute with a like :)

I got the set of four Smurfs Blue Style perfumes for my niece to play around with, but thought I'd test them out first. Notes are hard to find online and vary based on where you look, and also vary from the earlier Smurfs edition bottles with mushroom caps. I've found notes online for Papa including kumquat, orange, apple blossom, freesia, iris, and white musk. To me, the top smells like apricot and orange (I have no idea what kumquat smells like to be fair). I can detect some light freesia in it, a soft sunny floral and a touch of powder underneath. It starts to drydown after an hour or so, which seems like a sort of sweet resiny musk to me, something I can't quite place, but pleasant, then after another hour it becomes a pretty musky musk. Gone after 4 or 5 hours. Overall impression: the top is bright and cheery and nice for kids though the musk at the end was surprisingly serious for a kid perfume, to me.

I got this for $3.99 at Burlington. For something so cheap, the smell is pretty decent. I give it a thumbs up. Generic shampoo smell, but not terrible. You can do a lot worse for less than $5.
