Calla Licious

What a beauty! Peppery, rough vanilla that's also earthy, enveloping, pungent and lily-like... An inexpressible powdery background, pure golden yellow, a field of wheat; paper starbursts, cut out, perfectly drawn... The nose in a basket, poetry, rays of spring light, dried flowers coming back to life, blissful silence. At once humble, sober and idiosyncratic. The fragrance that finally convinced me that The Society really is the revelation of my last few years. If they weren't selling for over $100 a 15mL (which is totally justified, even if I can't afford them), I'd only wear their creations. Beyond that: wonderful.

This is quite a stunner. When I first smelled this fragrance i didn't quite understand it well and decided i didn't care for it, when I later came back to the sample of it and put it on my skin it has shown all its true beauty. The opening is a heady lily which is backed up by a caramelized pear giving it a lipstick vibe which soon after settles into a beautiful peppery vanilla with lily still lingering in the backdrop and jasmine with soft musk wrapping you like a cashmere shawl. Give this fragrance a chance, it won't disappoint you!

I am a woman. I enjoy warm vanilla scents. Spicy, cozy. I also like lipstick scents that run sweet: Misia by Chanel, Bvlgari Pour Femme. That said, Calla Licious is not something I'd describe as warm, nor cozy. It runs cool. Think vanilla with lime, but no lime. Instead a soft white flower. I think I'd prefer this on a man, if he wants to smell clean. Mostly, what I smell is POWDER. Talcum powder. It's clean and slightly white floral. Definitely well-done.
