Rose Rag(e)

Brilliant. Originally named Fabuary 14th, this juice was renamed with its roll out of the line as Rose Rage. I'm glad to be the only one who knows about this magnificent powerhouse rose. Not only do I get compliments, but people ask for the name. Which means they want to covet it for themselves. A definite compliment-getter, Rose Rage is an open rose, full bodied and confident. There's a surrounding veil of sexy spice and slink. It's lacy and racy, and gorgeous under a silk blouse. This is the sexiest rose I know. I want to smell of nothing but this day or night. Winter or summer. It never goes sweet (no candy or vanilla vibes), and it never goes mothball (no grandma vibes). Side by side with FM's Portrait of a Lady, Rose Rage is stronger with a much brighter dry down that Portrait. Where Portrait goes a bit "grandma's closet" to my nose, Rose Rage goes brighter, less musty, more clear. More modern. I worry I need at least 4 backup bottles. This is a masterpiece.

This is a personal favorite, but the high price tag makes it one that I use sparingly. If you're looking for the highest quality ingredients inside of your scents, then you're looking for The Society of Scent. They're located here in NYC and having met their Master Perfumer, I encourage anyone that lives fragrances to try their discovery pack.... The raspberry isn't fruity or bright, it's rich and it lends itself to the incense and patchouli beautifully. The main accord of a dark, rich rose/incense combination is seductive. Have been asked if I was wearing Creed whenever someone noticed this on me.

A green, light, spicy rose (like a peppery/unripe mango look, which I love), both clean and deep, very beautiful. Not at all a grandmotherly, cloaked, dusty rose; nor a sweet, headachey, kitsch, rhinestone and glitter rose. More like a very safe and at the same time, very dense, botanical garden rose built right on top of a raging music club in the middle of New York, yes. Or a Helen Frankenthaler kind of flower. It's got both. Like the others in the series, this is a scent that I think is simple but grand, far from a cacophony of blended notes to no end, refocused, worked all up around some quality raw materials, and I really appreciate the overall dynamic. And this one holds very well on my skin, unlike the others I had tested so far.
