Lemon Tart

People need to STOP comparing this to devotion and/or bake and/or Lira. Ugh! Sheeple! Just stop. Ya’ll need to start practicing training your nose. It’s got citrus and sweet notes. Yuuuup! That’s literally the only similarities! Doesn’t mean that they smell anything alike. And NO, people will not confuse the two when they smell you. Now to my opinion.... This has got to be one of the most synthetic, smelling frags I’ve ever encountered . More so than any BBW frag I’ve ever smelt. But weirdly I freaking love it. People compare this to a buttery lemon pastry? I would say in the interpretive (but not the literal) sense.... contrary to what other reviewer‘s are saying. It smells buttery and lemony and sweet...(almost butterscotch-y to my nose), but in a very synthetic way imo. My favorite part about this fragrance is it stays pretty linear (A rarity for a lemon gourmand, and something you WONT find in devotion or lira). again, something I find contrary to what other reviewers are saying. The descriptive words A4 mentioned would make you think that this is a fun whimsical nostalgic gourmand, but I actually find it to be very complex. The scent cloud in the dry down introduces this SLIGHTLY: sharp, smoky, incensey, dirty, tart note that I can’t quite pinpoint (this must be the Tartine? Never smelled that note b4 so I’m assuming that’s what it is). It kind of gives it an intriguing nuanced, complexity (kind of in a bal d’afrique way, but this is obviously very gourmand, & more whimsical). I’ll be honest... most of my friends and family think it smells weird and unappealing. I definitely wouldn’t wear it on a date if you’re trying to be sexy and alluring. I mainly wear it for my own comfort and pleasure (aka..fragrance therapy). I also find the projection and longevity to be pretty solid! (once again, contrary, to what other reviewers are saying.) But I live at a super high altitude in a very dry climate (so perhaps that’s why I have a better experience?) Scent - 9/10 Sillage - 8/10 Longevity - 8/10 Unique - 9/10 Price - 6/10 — I will definitely savor and enjoy this while it lasts so in that regard, it’s worth the price. But not really a staple fragrance thus would not buy it again once it’s empty.

I would consider this a summer gourmand. I usually don’t wear gourmands at all during hotter months but I can pull this off since it has an airy feel to it. It starts off with a bright lemon curd/custard scent, supported by a dry pastry accord in the background. Some ppl may interpret that pastry accord as plain butter biscuits. Does not transform too much in the dry down, except the lemon note does become softer. As for sillage, this sits close to the skin, but never feels sticky or sickly sweet. I actually prefer that since lemon gourmands can easily be overwhelming (especially if you’re gonna be in a stuffy room/transportation full of people). Clings better on clothes. After an 8hr shift I can still smell it on my sweater. Overall a pleasant light gourmand and relatively crowd pleasing. This is better than the recent release of Akro Bake. That one smells like straight up lemon floor cleaner and burnt sugar. How this compares to Lira: Lira has a bit more spices among other notes that make it more complex, and i wouldn’t wear that during the summer. The caramel makes Lira too decadent and heavy for warm weather. How this compares to Unknown Pleasures: This one has a sharper citrus compared to the other 2. The lemon note on this never really softens on my skin, and mixed with the tea note + bergamot, it’s too acidic, it gave me a headache after a while.

Theodoros delivers again. This gives me the same feeling I get with Coffee Addict, Velvet Chocolate and Alluring Fig. It is exactly what it promises; nothing more, nothing less. Smells like lemon curd with a dash of cream infused (a la Philosophy’s fresh cream but far less lactonic) and buttery pastry. Like you’ve just bitten into the most delicious lemon tart and it’s giving you all the feels. The lemon is zingy and bright and doesn’t give off lemon cleaner at all. This is a gourmand in the truest sense, but the sweetness here isn’t cloying or overbearing. Compared to Lira and co., this is a literal interpretation rather than deep/complex/spicy/transformative scent. On me, the lemon blast at the top tames after about an hour or two and the pastry aspect takes center stage (the lemon is still there throughout though). Projection is good for this duration too, thereafter sitting closer to the skin. I got about 8hrs wear - 2 projection, 4 scent bubble and then it starts to gradually fade) but if I turn my head I still get whiffs of it. I did overspray though. But for the fabulous price of this little gem in a gluttonous world of obscenely priced fancy water, I don’t mind. A guilty pleasure without the calories (or debt).

This perfume threw me on my tuchus. I ordered a full bottle within 10 minutes of wearing it. The impression of lemon sugar cookie was so photorealistic, I decided I didn’t care what it performed like (actually could last longer 😭). Almost broke my neck running to write a review, then decided to wait so I could write about the longevity (or lack there of!). I didn’t go ham but I didn’t even get an hour spraying on pulse points, sans clothes and hair. It’s affordable, relative to my collection, so I’m willing to tolerate the lack of longevity. I figure if you’re the type of person that can stand to respray any of the Sol de Janeiro body sprays or I Do by Anthropologie (😍), you can respray this. It shows self-awareness to have it priced at this range. This is also my first fragrance featuring butter. It did not disappoint and I think it’s a good example of perfume range.

Another photorealistic gourmand from Theodoros Kalotinis, in all its yummy goodness. Opens with a very lemony blast, full on citrus like lemon zest, not that sweet in the beginning. Then as it starts warming up, I can smell the buttery biscuity base, the vanilla and the sugar. It really smells how a lemon tart bite tastes. Unfortunately, the lemon only stays on my skin for literally just a bit more than 1 hour (timed it) and then it becomes a vanilla biscuit-like skin scent with no projection. I had really high hopes for it and would definitely purchase a full bottle if it performed better... I might still get one because I like it so much. Get this if you want to smell like you just walked out of a bakery.

I own Lira, Akro Bake, and now Lemon Tart by Theodoros Kalotinis. Lira leans more toward a spicy lemon cake, with heavy licorice and spices that take away its gourmand appeal. Akro Bake is a bright, zesty lemon tart sprinkled with sugar—a favorite of mine for its freshness. Lemon Tart, however, is in a league of its own. It smells exactly like a rich lemon curd dessert—creamy, buttery, and sugary, without any synthetic or “cleaning product” undertones. Considering its price and quality, this is hands-down my favorite lemon gourmand! I got a compliment the first time wearing it. Longevity is about 6 hours and projection is moderate.

I avoid perfume with citrus scent as it usually ends up smelling like air freshener but this want is different; it does open up with realistic citrus, lemon scent but with some crust notes in it. imagine citrus pie or those cookies with lemon toping. the only con is longevity; it last maybe 2-3 hrs before turning to skin scent. silage is great I filled up my room with this perfume, my sis came from bathroom and immediately asked what smelled so nice. my favorite still remains coffee addict but I must say that this is runner up and perfect for summer heats with 32 degrees outside

This is such a treat to wear. I really pick up on that buttery note which I absolutely love smelling like a baked treat. I found it wore all night on my skin, I did test it on the inside of my elbow area so maybe it wears better in that spot? I'm realizing I really fancy lemony notes. On my next perfume order I'll order a bottle of this too. It's incredibly affordable, you can't beat $75(CAD). I'm a big lover of Lira but can't bring myself to buy a bottle as it's a bit pricy for such a short wearing time. This will help fill the Lira shaped void.

this is everything i wanted lira to be - and i like lira! well, not everything - the longevity still leaves a lot to be desired, but it's better than lira's at least! it opens very sharp and sour but that dries down into a beautiful lemon tart that's sweet, lactonic, and slightly buttery. NEVER veers into the dreaded cleaning product territory that many lemon fragrances do. if it had a better performance it'd be the perfect lemon scent, but i have yet to find a better one so i'll be sticking w her until i do! overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷🩷💔 4.5/5

I just knew I was going to like this fragrance. I mean, I love that citrus gourmand type of fragrance family. First sniff was a fail. I was shocked that this blind buy just wasn’t what I expected. But then, I went back to this fragrance. I found myself reaching for it day after day, loving it more & more. I finally stopped myself and thought 💭 what other TK fragrances would surprise me like Lemon Tart did! Something about this fragrance is addictive. Received some samples of his other fragrances today and I can’t wait to test them out.

My favorite lemon centered fragrance I have experienced so far. Starts out as a sugary lemon drop and dries down to a lemon sugar cookie. My nose does not pick up on a sharp, pledge cleaner type lemon that others detect, but I get a well rounded sugary creamy gourmand lemon. Absolutely lovely. Nothing synthetic or off-putting. The butter and whipped cream probably helps tone down the sharpness of the citrus. I only wish for better sillage and scent bubble, so for that I give it a 9/10. If it performed better I would give it a 10/10.

i’m a huge fan of lemony-gourmand fragrances, but so many disappointed me... but this... THIS is straight up lemon curd!! it’s covered in freshly grated sprinkles of lemon zest, with a little teaspoon of vanilla whipped-cream! the pastry & butter make this smell so smooth too, omg wow! no synthetic, or disinfectant undertones which is a huge plus for me. this is just so creamy, sugary, smooth, buttery, somehow airy, soft, and absolutely mouth wateringgg!! it’s so bright, and yellow—i adore lemon tart <3

Absolutely delightful if you're a gourmand lover. Realistic lemon tart with the creamy lemon and the sweet cookie crust notes. Sweet but not crazy sweet, which is a relief for me now in the heat of summer. Okay, sure could be more zingy in the citrus, but then again, not all lemon tarts have a topping of zingy grated lemon peel on top, now do they? Super enjoyable, fresh and sweet and creamy and a punch of sugar cookie all in one...and at this modest price...yes please.

Another great value for price gourmand. It opens with a nice lemon and vanilla experience, but what really surprised me is the butter. You can really smell the butter come through and it really adds to the pastry experience. It’s not my favorite gourmand of all time, but it’s very photorealistic and fairly unique. It’s too feminine for most men imo, but the longevity and sillage are both good enough for me to say it’s worth the price.

It’s more Devotion than Cake once it dries down, but LT is a completely different fragrance from these two. I’ve tried all three and only ended up purchasing LT. It fools you into thinking it’s going to be all gourmand, but it’s so much more than that. I didn’t buy Cake because it smells like food, not a perfume. LT smells like a body lotion, something that belongs in the Sol de Janeiro collection. Love it and own a full size.

sent vraiment la tarte au citron, dommage qu'il ne projette pas, du coup pas de sillage et tenue légère. ressemble par certains aspects à dévotion mais de loin, car je ne trouve pas lemon tart très sucré, plutôt citronné et zest de citron, on ferme les yeux et c est une tarte au citron mais sans la meringue. peut faire l'objet d'un blind buy, ne décevra pas celles qui aiment les parfums gourmands. good job au parfumeur

Lemon custard pie. That's what this smells like, and I mean the most creamy, most realistic, most buttery lemon custard pie you've ever smelled. This is the kind of perfume you spray on your wrists just to keep sniffing it through-out the day, it's so addictive and delicious. It was a blind buy for me and it totally exceeded my expectations, there's absolutely nothing I can complain about.

This is a perfect year round gourmand fragrance thats identical to smelling a lemon tart. Very realistic notes of a buttery lemon vanilla mix. Every single person that i have had smell it on me has had the exact same reaction "Holy Sh*t this actually smells like a lemon tart." Very balanced sweet scent, heavily recommend it to any gourmand lovers.

Oh, wow! 🥰 A gourmand’s dream! The opening is freshly baked vanilla cookies with lots of lemon zest. Absolutely realistic, straight out of the bakery. Unfortunately the top notes fade quickly and it turns into a vanilla body lotion smell, although quite nice and wearable. Definitely worth buying.

It’s so delicious that wearing it gives me more joy than actually eating a lemon tart, and I love lemon tarts. It somehow manages to be airy and yummy at the same time and doesn’t become cloying at any point. I’d even say it has character. Found myself reaching for it way more than I expected.
