Disclaimer: I LOVE vetiver and dry/astringent scents, so this review is coming from a bias of already loving the main note/direction. I'm not reviewing in comparison to men's frags/masculine-leaning in general, but rather to other vetiver-focused frags. Mood: A very sexy, but classy seduction. You know what you are going to get, firmly, but there is that slight edge of mystery and danger that comes with embodied true masculinity. Starts off clean, louder, firm, and develops over time to be softer and sweeter. Like a good rough "session" followed by lazy gentleness and cuddling. Perfect "intimate" scent that times its development perfectly to all stages of seduction. Date night scent with someone you have great chemistry with and know well enough. I don't think this will seduce a stranger from across the room, but it will entice someone experienced who knows what you can do. But that just might be how I feel about vetiver 😂 Composition: Mentor is (clearly LOL) a very, very sexy love for me. In my opinion, this is a very approachable, wearable vetiver. The vetiver here smells a touch herbal, with a rounded, chewy grassy, green-ness. There is some delightful dryness around the edges. There is a nice "contained" grassy body here, that smells and feels smooth, firmly present. This does not veer into overtly grassy, flat, or vintage. I suspect the vanilla and amber do a great job rounding out and reining everything in. The sweetness of vanilla and body of the amber help support and "expand" the vetiver (give it more presence) in the most seamless way. When paired with natural masculine "musk" (if you will ;) ) the composition fleshes out beautifully. Naural warmth and spice from skin interplay with the contrasting dryness and sweetness in this frag. Ah, it's a very seductive experience. FB worthy... for your favourite partner! No brainer even at full retail price of CAD$75 for 50mL! Quality, niche, at half price of a designer.

A very simple composition that manages to portray a very detailed picture of a proper mentor; a man that you can rely on. The vetiver note is dominant here and it takes a while for the sweetness and body of the amber to show up, but once it does; the fragrance becomes almost enchanting. This is something that I would want to wear on an important meeting, it gives you confidence and makes you feel like the best man you can be. A very well executed fragrance that manages to tame the sweetness of vanilla into a beautiful accord that just sits on your skin and lasts for hours and hours. The sillage on the first 3-4 hours is really good and then it slowly starts to wrap you in its scent bubble. I feel like it leaves a trail as you walk and that's a big plus. Clean, woody, a hint of freshness and a solid sweet base to round it all up. A true winner for more serious occasions and very suitable for the office. Absolute gem from Theodoros.

This is a very good scent. Vetiver, amber and something third: seems to be a perfect set! My absolute favourite happens to be Vetiver Ambrato by Bois 1920 and I'm glad I like Mentor too, having these components. There's something so enjoyable in this combination of notes, although not in every scent having these of course. Mentor has the specific (vanilla) sweetness that TK uses and this is even like the brand's signature so much so that it is recognisable among others. But for some, this may be the opposite, this sweetness is repelling; it was somewhat weird to me too at the beginning but over time I noticed I like it a lot. Mentor is long lasting and strong. It has the same smell both on my shirt and on my hand (not every scent behaves this way). It is similar to Yerbamate by Lorenzo Villoresi because that too has the specific untypical sweetness in it.

Today we’re talking about MENTOR. Now this one makes you feel extra charming, a dash of luxuriousness all enveloped in a cheerful demeanor. Very modern but traditional in a way. MENTOR is musky and woody with a hint of sweetness. Vanilla, amber & vetiver concocted perfectly, giving it character. To my nose, I would describe it as “clay-like” or a great smelling “play doh” if you will. It’s lays on heavy on your skin cocooning you in its goodness. Longevity is good. Lasting for almost 6 hours on my skin. Projection and sillage for the first 2-3 hours is good. After 3 hours, it sits close to my skin getting whiffs of it from time to time. For me, MENTOR is a gem in this house!

I really like this. Sweet vanilla style fragrance with salt (not too much) and smells like some mild toffee in the background. I am genuinely impressed. I ordered this sample not sure what this was supposed to smell like and I am glad I got it. Its really good and the ingredients and blend are really good. It's absolutely a gourmand for sure. Very good and worth looking into if you like gourmands. At the opening I felt like I could smell peanuts and then it faded - I don't know how he was able to pull that off but this is really good. The base is a smooth vanilla with a little salty toffee that is not overpowering or cloying. Very nice.

Congratulations to the a Man who created this gem... Its absolutely a masterclass for a man who has the inspiration in his own and a role model for other. Hence the name portrays this juice just like its features. Mr. Theodoros Kalotinis you are brilliant with your creations & inspiration in the niche' perfumery. The way you blended vanilla into Man's fragrance is deserve applauds for you :) Overall Performance: 9.5/10 Silage: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 I wouldn't rate the projection though its nice but I would rather like to wear fragrances for me in particularly instead to please the crowd.

I understand why this fragrance seems to be so polarizing, this combo of notes creates a scent like no other. Actually I think it makes a scent that resembles the air that escapes from a barrel of peanut butter pretzel nuggets. It’s warm, nutty, and slightly heavy smelling. I haven’t tried many amber fragrances but this makes me interested in trying more. I also can’t wait to try it again as the weather cools down. Overall 8/10 for being surprising and unique.

This one is so divisive but only in a good way! I can't say if this is a sophisticated man's fragrance, or a bad boy's one. It smells really elegant, but sexy at the same time. It's bright and smooth, but dark and bold. So clever to name something that smells like this, MENTOR. Because thats what truly is. Only a mentor can smell like that. Great achievement to create a compination which apply a “fresh” vanilla effect. Never should I think that I would be charmed by a vanilla fragrance, as it is not in my list of favorite notes. That’s why we have to judge a fragrance by the final sense, but not by isolated notes. This one has nothing to do with classic vanilla scents. Congratulations to the creator.

SOTD: sampling Theodoros Kalotinis Mentor, the last of my five samples from the sample set, a curious blend of amber, vetiver, and vanilla, mixing the sweetness of the vanilla with earthy, smoky vetiver, not quire a pairing of opposites but still pretty close to it. It creates a good balance between dark and opulent vs. bright and sweet. It makes for a really cozy fragrance for evenings or for cooler weather and overall feels nicely executed, even if not among my very favorite of this ilk. Still, it’s hard to argue with the pricing of the line, at 45 euros for 50ml, sold through the house website, and its solid performance. Coffee Addict still remains my favorite of the line, clearly, however. 7 out of 10

Fresh, green and nutty vetiver opening accompanied by sweet and creamy vanilla Amber base notes

Although these weren't the notes I was expecting from the name, I got plenty of almond paste and hazelnut notes.

Despite the notes, I could not bring myself to like this one. I think the vetiver overpowered everything else and it smelled like wet wood to me. Maybe as time goes by, the vanilla and amber start to peek through but I can't beat having to smell the opening and wait for the other notes to develop.

If I win the lottery I will buy every single bottle of this that I can find and dispose of it. This fragrance is a stain on the world. Not just on the world of fragrances, but on human decency and worth. It lessens us as a species. I have never put my nose to such a vile, foul smell. Sharp green-ness with some sickening sweetness in the background and cheap vodka all over. I cannot truly describe how much I hate this fragrance. I would rather smell of sweat. I love vetiver. I usually really like vanilla. I also like them in combination, like with fat electrician or vetiver gris. I have smelled hundreds of fragrances. This is the worst one.

Mentor, by Theodoros Kalotinis, smells like raw peanuts, raw peanut peel, with vanilla and salt. I would say I can also smell some vetiver and some guaiac/gummy wood. The scent is very interesting, this is the first perfume, that I have ever reviewed, that actually smells salty. Personally, I am not excited about nutty scents, it's not something I would wear, but for someone who is a nuts fan, this is an amazing and unique perfume.

Simple fragrance, with vanilla, amber and vetiver. The vetiver is particularly strong, earthy, I'm not that lover of this note with this interpretation unfortunately so I wouldn't wear it but I was pleasantly surprised by the result obtained with the combination of these few notes.

Second time wearing...I get some amber and veviter but sillage is very low, no more than an arms length and the smells are subtle. I do like it better the second time and I guess compared to my Perfumum Roma collection, which are all nearly beast mode, this is a nice change.

Weak sillage and longevity, sits very close to the skin. Pleasant fragrance but wish the sillage and longevity were greater. This seems to be a great office fragrance, won't offfend, not sure if it would garner compliments. Not the best for clubbing.

Received a nice compliment from my wife today. She said it smelled kind of like basil...in a nice way. I thought sillage was low but having her notice it and complimenting is a bid deal.
