Vanilla

If you love PATCHOULI, you will love this. It is very strange the name of this is Vanilla. Don't get me wrong, there is some vanilla (and a beautiful, realistic vanilla too), but this scent is all about Patchouli. Luckily for me, vanilla and patchouli are my two most fav perfume notes, and I am loving this. This smells a lot like Molinard Patchouli (a good thing), with some added soft vanilla. I find this to be much better than Molinard's actual scent Vanilla Patchouli. I ordered this directly from the Greek website and they shipped to USA. Theodoros has excellent customer service, they are so friendly and I love supporting small(er) businesses. The quality, longevity and sillage (especially for this price) is unbeatable. Very impressed. I also left a review about Theodoros' Coffee Addict (also ahmaaaaazing)!

smells just like buttery shortbread biscuits, it's amazing! although this is TOOTH-ACHINGLY sweet so take that into account! on my skin the patchouli does not take center stage; it's detectable, sure, but remains in the background and even serves as support for the cookie scent, giving it a just-baked quality. this patchouli is not intrusive nor dirty, it actually leans more minty and compliments well the rich vanilla, so i don't mind it at all (and i absolutely HATE patchouli in any fragrance, so trust me on this). however, skin chemistry changes everything so it might be just that i got lucky with this one. in any case, i feel that this a gourmand lover's dream and a must if you like baked goods fragrances! also, like all kalotinis' scents, it's absolutely beast mode!

I agree with most of below comments butter vanilla cookie and during dry down it smells earthy like minty, herbal cookie or something. It's sweet but not sickly sweet. I have Eau de perfume and on clothes it lasts till next day. It's great for layering as well. I use it together with coffee Addict and it's amazing❤️I love supporting small nich perfumers and this has become one of my favorite. I would say, if you're looking for something more complex, commercial this is not for you but if you don't mind to smell like one of those yummy candles then this is for you

One if the better vanillas out there, and I've tried most of them. Yes, it does smell like a cookie fresh out of the oven but the patchouli keeps it grown up and wearable. I dislike patchouli but it doesn't bother me here at all. It's a simple but not simplistic perfume. All the Kalotinis perfumes have so far been a success for me, I like the quality and strength.

the perfect layering vanilla. All my underwear tops smell of this. It stays because of the patchouli but dont overspray because is sickly sweat. This one makes me proud of my country's perfumery!

The opening is to die for! It could have been addictiv... but that opening stays for a minit. :( The opening is a creamy, yummy vanilla like Rizskoch (hungarian Rice Cake), or a vanilla pudding. But than the dry down: First you think it wont project but a few minits later it will start to project and the scent it self isn't patchouli dominant. It's a bit paper like vanilla. I could say this patchouli is a tiny bit "earthy". But never gose in the wrong way. It will stay as a gourmand vanilla, but just like "if you don't know there is patchouli in this fragrance than you can't tell what is this note which is bothering you". On my skin patchouli usualy turnes in to a menthol like smell, but this isn't like that! I'm a big pathouli-hater, but with this it's not the case. For the price I'm thinking about buying it. :) But I just wish the opening could stay from the beginning till the end even if it was just 2-3 hour.

I don’t get caramel from this. The top notes for me are an intense buttery cake batter with extra egg yokes and a bowl of vanilla bean butter cream frosting. This moment is really strong and if it stayed right here I wouldn’t be able to wear it. This magical juice subtly simmers down to a woody vanilla pod. It stays sweet, but nothing as intense as the opening. I think this is a well done vanilla that offers something for differing vanilla fans. This doesn’t last super long as it’s an EdT, but it’s actually really affordable! I couldn’t believe the price. I think it’s like 19 euros. Shipping is expensive but they have sales all the time. This perfumer is worth investigating. I really like his Gardenia perfume too. P.S. I’m trying to write more reviews for the smaller companies and independent perfumers. #justbecause2021

This is a great and very reasonably priced bakery gourmand. It's not your run of the mill vanillin/vanilla extract scent by any means; it has exceprional richness, depth and character, and it reminds me of some very specific kind of vanilla cookie or dessert that I cannot for the life of me put my finger on. It's only a bit lacking in terms of longevity, but that is to be expected, since it comes in an EdT concentration. All in all, this is worth more than it costs for someone who loves literal gourmands.

I love this fragrance in the opening and middle. It’s a buttery caramel, Vanilla, patchouli. But the dry down is very patchouli. I’m not a fan of layering but with this one, because I love the opening so much I will wait till it dries down and then wear Prada Candy. The dry down by itself reminds me of Mugler Angel with out all the extras, only Caramel, Vanilla and Patchouli. I can imagine this as a good outdoor fragrance because of the earthy patchouli. For doing something like hiking.

This grew on me! It becomes a more powdery/dusty caramel vanilla that’s really nice for a bedtime scent. I don’t get the medicinal or balm scent that people say this gives off. But I do understand people’s confusion as the name is overly simplistic. This is much more than just a linear or even a comprehensive vanilla scent. There’s a lot more going on and I think the name and the gourmand prestige of the brand kind of throws people off.

When I first tested TK Vanilla I was a bit overwhelmed by the patchouli accord and thought to myself oh no this ain’t it. As it dried down though I was getting whiffs of a crunchy and crumbly caramel & vanilla cookie biscuit. In fact now I understand that the patchouli accord is what gives this fragrance that lightly browned crumbly crunchy smell like a graham cracker. Definitely do not blind buy! It’s a like for me!

In the beginning, I detect a sharp, but delicious creme brulee, just like the traditional well- done desserts in luxurious pastry shops. Meanwhile, the caramel slowly disappears and a fresh, airy vanilla settles softly on my skin. Ideal for cooler climate as well as for office perfume. In other words, a non edible but safe and well- balanced vanilla, created by a coming up, promising Greek perfumer.

Vanilla that's perfect for bedtime. Balmy, cozy, sits close to the skin, becomes almost edible doughty in the drydown. It's a compliment!

Theodoros Kalotinis Vanilla is part of the house’s Eau de Parfum collection and is a spicy vanilla characterized by a fairly heavy-handed use of patchouli, along with some caramel, which is kind of the logical effect (to me) of blending vanilla and patchouli, a sort of sharp sweetness that feels midway between the cakey sweetness of the vanilla (in this case) and the herbal spiciness of the patchouli. Definitely a must-try for fans of vanilla/patchouli blends, or something to be avoided if you dislike either note. Overall, I think it’s a decent combination of the notes, while probably being a little more patchouli-heavy than what I typically gravitate toward, taste-wise, but it feels nicely executed. Like the rest of the Eau de Parfum collection, Vanilla is very reasonably priced at 45 euros for 50ml, sold only through the website. I purchased my sample as part of a discovery pack of five, which can be customized on their website. 6 out of 10

I can describe this perfume so easy. I don't necessary a sentence for my idea. I necessary need only one word: THE SCENT OF [ FENUGREEK] New review: After 1 hour, the scent of fenugreek become fade out and vanillin biscuit like scent become fade in. Quite a strong vanilla, in the style of Angel, since the vanilla is being bolstered by patchouli. It's ok, but I've got Mugler Angel edt already, and I don't need both.

This is an objectively high-quality fragrance. I love the vanilla, but the patchouli is too much for my personal taste.

There are so many vanilla scents out there and this one doesn't last very long.

The opening is identical to buttercream cake icing. So it has this sour quality mixed with being cloyingly sweet. I can't smell it too closely or else I will get nauseous. To be clear though, this might just be me. I also can't eat icing because that particular type of sweetness is too much for me. As it dries down it becomes a lot more interesting. It starts getting peppery, more caramel, and less cloying. Still too much for me on multiple fronts (I don't like pepper notes), but it's pretty unique and I could imagine someone really jiving with this. This is the first scent from the house that doesn't work for me, which is sad. But I guess they can't all be winners for every person.

Ohhh myyyy this caught me by surprise, and NOT in a good way. I’ve been smacked in the face with a mud bomb in which a bit of caramel was accidentally stirred into the the mix. This is a strong patchouli scent - deeply earthy and muddy. The caramel is there, but it is not sweet like many other reviews have said. The 3 main notes somehow meld into a strangely medicinal earthy accord. I am a little shocked by some of the “reminds me of” comparison. I wasn’t expecting a sugary sweet perfume but I also wasn’t expecting the patchouli to be so heavy. The name Vanilla is quite the misnomer. You need to be a patchouli lover to appreciate this one. Hard pass for me.

Blind purchased a full sized bottle along with a discovery set of 5 other Theodoros fragrances. Admittedly, I’m undecided on Vanilla. The initial spritz is a heavy waft reminiscent of fresh baked, hot out of the oven sugar cookies; like a very buttery vanilla sugar dough. On dry down, however, it becomes more earthy and herbal and there’s a bit of a synthetic smell to it. Overall, it’s an interesting take on vanilla. I’ll have to finish using up the miniature atomizer before I can decide whether or not to keep the full sized bottle.

Idk I don’t like it ☹️ it doesn’t even smell that much like vanilla to me, can’t describe the scent but it puts me off. There are so many vanillas out there that I love, this one however doesn’t come in that bracket for me. It hasn’t got any depth or warmth. If it’s called vanilla, I expect it to be pure vanilla and nothing else. I will be declutterring and giving it away since I won’t be using it.

This is like a vanilla pudding that you get at the grocery store and can make at home adding warm milk to the powder mix... good but in an artificial way. I don’t see anything appealing about this fragrance. Sorry but it’s too sweet, it smells cheap and simple. The best gourmand Kalotinis offers atm is Velvet Chocolate - as I feel the hype Lemon Tarte has received is just unbelievable and too fake.

I wanted to love this, but unfortunately every time I spray it, the patchouli is overwhelming and covers any sweetness for me. I have tried to make it work by spraying on clothes just in case it is my skin, but no - wet, earthy, fresh patchouli! Disappointed as I was hoping to use this to amp up vanilla in other fragrances.

This is SUPER sweet. Kinda similar to the buttercream vanilla frosting on store bought cakes and cookies. It’s also more of an artificial vanilla smell then pure vanilla. Reminds me of what a 12-13 year old girl would want in a sweet perfume. The only time I’ve worn it, I had to wash off after about 30 mins.

I was so excited for this, I've heard so many good reviews about Theodoros Kalotinis. But WHAT?! What was the vanilla and caramel in this scent? It literally smell like sour butter and Tiger Balsam (a Swedish balm for musclepain).. Naaah, not for me...

This smells like a vanilla candy, very sweet and gourmand. Perhaps there's also caramel included as listed in the notes. There's patchouli? Where? If only I could smell any patchouli balancing the vanilla, I guess I would like it more.

I wasn't a fan. Applied really lightly it is tolerable, and smells like a powdery dirty vanilla. If you accidentally apply to much (which is easy to do) it starts to smells body odour and rotting garbage. I had to give it away

This is a patchouli bomb through and through start to finish. A warm sugary vanilla baked cookie with LOTS OF PATCHOULI . That’s it that’s all! And I like patchouli but I don’t like this

I wanted to love it but patchouli is taking it over. It's like grandmas vanilla candy that she spilled some kind of vintage perfume on.. :[ almost perfect.

I would like this very much were it not for the heavy handed dose of patchouli, which ruins what would otherwise be a good vanilla-centric fragrance.

This perfume is two-faced. It smells very nice, but one side of it smells like something is rotting on my skin. Don't know what that is.

Vanilla-flavored alcohol hang over. Gross. I love patchouli, I love vanilla—but I really dislike this scent.

It is rare for me to rate a perfume as a "hate," or strong dislike. But this stuff deserves the worst rating, the worst review possible, IMHO. This fragrance is absolutely putrid, awful. Opens with a very synthetic, cloying, sour caramel note. The pungent opening smells like regurgitated caramel and spoiled milk. Morphs into a non-cohesive mess of woods, patchouli (I suppose) and some powdery vanilla. Absolutely stinks. Even my husband, who usually ranks and loves my perfumes stated, "WHAT did you just spray??? Stuff smells like body odor." My poor, sweet dog was dozing on my bed with me when I applied this perfume and even he gagged and moved away from me when he detected the fragrance. I'm done trying to find a Theodoros Kalotinis fragrance that works for me. IT. IS. THAT. BAD.

I am OK with patchouly if it adds to the complexity of a fragrance and doesn’t overpower it. This is 99% patchouly to my nose and one percent vanilla. I don’t smell icing or cookies or any other bakery note. This isn’t even a nice chocolatey patchouly it’s the kind of patchouly that smells like something you stepped in. I’m surprised this fragrance got released. I’m so happy I got a decant instead of a full bottle. I absolutely love coffee addict, lemon tart isn’t bad either but I wouldn’t buy a full bottle. This vanilla is a scrubber for me.

The first spray has a harsh, plasticky smell that lasts a few seconds, then an earthy vanilla comes through. After about 15 minutes, it turns into mostly patchouli with a faint vanillin background. I really did not expect that from a perfume called “Vanilla”, especially since the name suggests vanilla is the main focus. I’m disappointed because I was expecting a gourmand scent.

This is not a safe blind buy vanilla. As others have mentioned this is VERY heavy patchouli with a touch of vanilla. I don’t hate patchouli, but unless you love it I would steer clear of this one. The patchouli here is quite mossy — I don’t get butter, cookies, or anything like that.

Extremely patchouli heavy. Do not buy this unless you enjoy those type of scents. This is not a sweet delicious gourmand vanilla. It’s disgusting. It does not smell like vanilla extract. It smells like pure patchouli.

This is awful.. I like caramel, vanilla and patchouli but this is strong on the patcholi and the vanilla and caramel is so synthetic. Really off.. dont buy! Its not a good scent at all.

First impressions from a decant I received: I was SO excited for this one I watched/read every review online and I was nervous cause it seemingly appeared fairly split: either they said it smelt like frosting or patchouli dirt. From what I can smell first of all this is not as strong as I was expecting, some said it was a beast, I’m not getting beast at all. I do smell undertones of patchouli but it’s not as intimidating or as whacky as you might fear. I do genuinely smell a nice creamy frosting but the patchouli gives this a vibe that keeps it from smelling like a juvenile Claire’s body mist or something. It genuinely smells like “frosting perfume but make it grown and wearable” this is literally what I could’ve dreamed it smelt like! Honestly I’m a huge fan of SDJ 71 cause I’m a gourmand girl but I would say this is probably as strong as 71 for reference (71 and Vanilla don’t smell the same FYI). 100% worth a decant!! but I fear I already know for ME this will be full bottle/staple worthy. So delicious! I wanna lick my arm.

Burnt scrumptious caramel, deep vanilla buried under a very nutty, earthy patchouli. However the more I wear, the more I get a very artificial, thick “cupcake vanilla frosting” aroma over the patchouli. The patchouli is still there but more like a battery for the fragrance. It just adds power and density to the sweet vanilla frosting. I really like this. It is a “basic” vanilla aka vanilla prominent scent but still different from the other Vanillas I have or have smelled. It’s persistent performance is similar to TF’s Vanille Fatale, strong on skin and will not dissipate from clothes until wash day, along with the sweet heavy vanillic dry-down. Worth the money if you’re looking for a less expensive option. Now that I smelled it side by side, it is very similar to Cheirosa 71 which I have but a tad less caramel and less toasted. Maybe that mixed with the patchouli-forward Armani Prive Indigo Tanzanite. :)

This says edt, but my bottle says edp and it's a black label. I wonder if it's the same? This is far less sweet than I anticipated that it would be. I'm getting a cashmere-fuzzy, cozy, cuddly patchouli warm undertone, and a more savory than sweet vanilla. My daughter said, mom, it's like you're wearing a Scentsy burner! I can see that. This is my fourth TK edp. I love how inexpensive these are, and they perform and layer so nicely. I'm so glad to have this as part of my collection! I think it's going to macerate and darken up and get sweeter with time. Look on The Sillage to find this for the best price! I got this one and Caramel Oud in the mail today, and I'm very happy with them!

After 10 minutes of sniffing a skin test with my daughter and husband we have declared this on to be the perfect replica of a sugar cookie. You know how when the cookie is baked and cooled you don't really get a sugar note anymore but you know it's there behind the butter and vanilla? It's like that. Not as sweet as frosting, but very, very buttery. (Caramel is butter plus sugar and vanilla.) To our noses the butter was as prominent as the vanilla. Notes and accords both say patch but I didn't smell any. Not as sweet as you often get with a vanilla scent but not even a little perfumy. This is very much a kitchen scent. Not to my taste but I get it. Good projection and longevity.

I was expecting so much more from this that it's left me really disappointed even though it's got vanilla and caramel in it there's really nothing sweet about it and I think the patchouli note is just to strong it seems to over whelm the rest of the notes in it if it didnt have the patchouli note in it or if the patchouli note wasn't so strong and you could hardly smell and it allowed the caramel and vanilla to come out more or if it smelt more like cheirosa 71 body spray if it was more sweeter then it would of bn really great

Everyone’s skin and nose react differently, so your experience may vary. If you don’t like patchouli, you probably won’t enjoy this. But I do—patchouli blends beautifully with my skin, and this is the perfect vanilla for me. For some reason, a lot of vanilla perfumes either miss the mark or try to make it more complex than it needs to be. This one is amazing. To me, it smells just like warm, baked vanilla cookies. Definitely try a sample first, though
