Jessy's Rose

There was a green explosion of lemon verbena at the beginning that progressively transformed more and more into this gorgeous pink rose. My childhood neighborhood was quite competitive and obsessed with roses. In front of my friend's house was the most beautiful and prolific pink one. The purple perhaps smelled better, but it bloomed timidly compared to the pink one. The overall abundance of flowers in May was impressive and continued in more subdued manner until late november. The smell was surprisingly lemony and always reminded me of magnolia and lemon ice cream. It was, and probably still is, one epic rose. Jessy's Rose is very close to that pink rose. I can almost see the striking yellow one with dark leaves at the other side of the entry, everything is so green and buzzing with life. It's early morning and the sun still hasn't chased the chilly air or the dew. This sort of images I get only with truly exceptional perfumes. Created with heart and just because. It reminded me of L'Ombre dans l'eau, the lemon verbena here behaves very much like the black currant. But the result is much brighter, perhaps friendlier, less striking and savage, but certainly equally beautiful. The middle part is luscious and fruity and the drydown creamy sandalwood woody. It takes a lot of work to get something appear this effortless and simple. Truly exceptional.

Jessy's Rose was my second discovery among Thierry Blondeau's fragrances. This is his first creation and it was quite daring to lunch a new perfume dedicated to the glorious rose, as there are so many perfumes and many masterpieces in this category, such as Nahema or Paris for instance. However Thierry Blondeau is a most talented perfumer and Jessy's Rose has immediately become one of my favorite. The rose is fresh - thanks to peony - but also velvety. Delicate peach, apricot notes, but also green notes and sandalwood give depth to the perfume. True gem ! I bought a few days ago the extract version. "My rose" is even deeper and richer thanks to a generous iris cloud.
