Eau Contraire

Simple, spicy, sweet and balanced. Absolutely love this fragrance from open to dry down. The blood orange is a fresh citrus that is perfectly supported by the subtle, spicy, sweetness of the cardamom. Wish the projection and silage were better and even so, I find my self returning to this one again and again. Longevity is decent, lasting 4 to 5 hours most of which time it is a skin scent. I think I’ll always have a bottle of this around.

Similar to a perfume for women from Issey Miyake. Very high notes, but very easy to wear. Still,I can imagine a very masculine guy wearing it. It has a business man/ woman kind of smell. Fresh, but very spicy and cold. Very good for a very hot summer. I am curios how much it will last on my skin. Even the seller said it's not long lasting. Strange for such a niche perfume

This is very light. not unique,but I like this citrus blast and bit spice scent.

Spicy, very citrus fresh, slightly woodsy initially. Becomes warmer, a touch sweeter. Christmasy to me. Aaand gone within a few hours.

Citrus, spice, and pretty nice. It's fairly linear, fading away in intensity over time. Since it's an "eau" it's meant to be light and easy...but unlike some other Thirdman offerings that I've tried, it almost immediately to becomes a skin scent. Longevity is pretty good on a hot summer day, lasting four to five hours on my skin. It is definitely present, giving my skin a nice fruity scent when I bring my wrist to my nose...but impossible to over-spray. I might like it if it had a more oomph -- like a bigger zing from the blood orange or little bit of bite from the cardamom. I've seen mentions of white musk and lemon as notes. I can believe both are included in the composition, but they are supportive factors and don't ever come to the forefront. Nice. I like it enough to use up my sample. Good for people who want to be mindful of others and for those who want to have a subtle je ne sais quoi.

This truly is as simple as citrus and spice on my skin, but, unfortunately, it's practically gone off of my skin quite quickly. This has to be the worst performing scent I have ever worn. Perhaps it would work okay if you are in extreme heat conditions.

It’s a freshie. Pretty standard and masculine. Meh. One star for the great name “Eau Contraire,” which is a pithy take on a phrase I personally use daily because speaking French makes me feel posh.

Is this the same as Eau Nomade? It's a sweetish, spiced orange. It seems a little more complex than the notes listed, but is still fleeting and has a cheapish chemical note that keeps it from smelling as expensive as it is. It's more masculine than I enjoy wearing at the moment so I gave it to my husband. It smells nice on him but I wouldn't buy it again.
