Despite Vanilla and Sandalwood in the base, the scent truly shines in summer. It is suitable year-round, but there is something especially charming about it in warm, sunny weather. On one hand, the fragrance radiates positivity, light, and energy - it’s uplifting and bright. On the other, it creates a sense of comfort, coziness, and calm. There are also other beautiful contrasts throughout: from the very opening, floral sweetness is paired with a subtle saltiness that makes the composition feel addictive. The scent isn’t just powdery - it genuinely feels like a light, cottony veil, thanks to “Cotton flower.” Although it is a fantasy note, it is rendered here with remarkable skill and a striking sense of realism. The honeyed sweetness of Mimosa covers Heliotrope, leaving behind a hazy, powdery veil rather than an almond-like essence. This gentle powderiness is complemented by a moderate creaminess that never feels heavy or overly dense. To my nose, the fragrance is above all delicate, yet not weak; sensual, yet not provocative; sweet, yet not sticky; and powdery, yet not dry. I would say this is the first perfume that I perceive as belonging more to the gentler sex (at least that's how I personally experience it; in fact, I find it more beautiful when worn by a woman on her neck...). I really like the present powdery note, which carries a floral yet creamy texture. The perfume isn't of the dry type; rather, it sits right on the edge, perfectly balanced, dancing between powder, cream, and the floral elements mentioned in the composition. A wonderfully delicate fragrance, subtle yet long-lasting, but strong enough to leave an impression and simply captivate you with its beauty. Ladies, this is your treat, a gift from me to you because this is truly something worth your attention and a try. As a man, I enjoyed smelling my wrist from time to time, yes, I really did. But I must repeat, I see it more fitting on a beautiful woman's neck. Spring, a summer evening, or autumn? I see it as most ideal for these seasons, and I think those are its true comfort zones for such a fragrance. The perfume doesn't demand any special "high-class" outfit; it can be worn stylishly in a casual, more relaxed manner, but it can also beautifully complement a sexy, elegant outfit. Thomas de Monaco Sol Salgado Extrait is not just a summer perfume for me. It feels like sitting by the sea at night, in a softly lit resort bar, sipping my drink while calm music plays in the background. 🌙 It has that effortless but incredibly sexy aura. Salty, slightly sweet, but perfectly balanced — never heavy, never sticky. It simply melts into the skin and leaves a quiet luxury behind. Honestly, I don’t even care about the notes 😁 This perfume is pure emotion for me. A luxurious blend, a holiday memory, and a little bit of love in a bottle. 🤍

Thomas de Monaco Sol Salgado starts off very intimate until it warms up like the scent of it. Smells like the better, cleaner, brighter version of Giorgio Armani Sun di Gioia from the clean cotton dryer-sheet smell, mimosa, and lots of waxy, sweet, banana-like ylang ylang that's really coming from the mixture of sweet almond heliotrope and salt. This is a sun tan lotion/balm but not salty or synthetic in any way. I also get a creamy lipstick vibe. Lasts 10+ hours, and moderately or beastly projects...it depends.

Hands down one of the best things I smelled at Scent Fest. Just a stunningly beautiful fragrance. Smells like a luxury summer vacation. I imagine someone who wears Brunello Cucinelli or Loro Piana. They’re effortlessly chic and refined but surprisingly not pretentious. Clearly leans feminine and I would love to smell this on my wife, but I would also wear this in a heartbeat. Moving to the top of my list.

This is heavenly...smooth pastel yellow, the scent of a sunset...no smoke, intensely tropical in a way that I have not come across. Really really beautiful and the harmony in here is next level. Very feminine to me.

I dislike smoke notes and I get none here. This is lovely, this is what I wanted Tilia to smell like, but there was something off putting about Tilia. This is wearable to the office.

Powdery mimosa with a sort of marine vibe. The vanilla gives it the slightest touch of sweetness. I quite like it, but you have to be a lover of mimosa to enjoy this.

I knew that remember something on dries down, so came to my mind, L'instant de Guerlain, a little saltier. Now I'm relieved because I don't need this anymore 🤭

The scent of a salacious day spent slinking around a private beach with your lover

Yellow florals have always been challenging for me; the ones I truly enjoy are rare. They’re often dressed in honeyed, warm facets. This one is honeyed as well, yet I found myself liking it. The fragrance is intensely solar; radiant, joyful, almost saturated with light. Alongside mimosa, there’s a powdery yet salty-musky facet that gives it a distinct character. That saline quality is what I enjoy the most here. As it moves into the heart, it briefly takes on a slightly artificial tone; reminiscent of a plastic doll’s head or plah-doh. Those who dislike this kind of synthetic nuance may find this phase off-putting. In the drydown, powder and a futuristic musk come fully forward, while the yellow, pollen-rich warmth of mimosa and linden blossom remains present. Interestingly, it performs far better on hair than on skin, where it gains remarkable depth. Thomas de Monaco makes only a very few (very expensive) fragrances, but they're all pretty terrific: they're beautifully balanced and use absolutely topnotch ingredients. This latest from them is no exception: it is mostly yellow florals (linden and mimosa) with heliotrope, vanilla, and musk underneath. You can smell the individual notes because it's been put together so thoughtfully, and it provides a comfortingly harmonious whole. This can absolutely be a unisex fragrance, although I would characterize it as leaning slightly feminine nonetheless. I very much enjoy wearing this, although it did not break my heart it's too expensive for me. I can certainly appreciate true quality when I smell it, but even so, I think in the end I prefer linden fragrances where the linden note is more dominant (like Highgrove Bouquet). But if you can afford this I would suggest sampling it--it's so well done.

Not usually a fan of either salt or smoke notes, so I wasn't expecting to like this, but I did after all! The starts transports me into a bar on a tropical beach, where I'm drinking a sweet cocktail while watching the sunset. After an hour or two the musk becomes stronger and it gives sensual and cozy night chat with people at the bar while you still feel the sweat and sunscreen from the beach day on your skin. As a nerdy introvert, this is not usually my type of place/situation, but this perfume kinda romanticizes the idea of it for me and almost makes me want it. Very pleasant! I almost don't get any smoke at all, though.

Imagine, you are in a garden of mimosa and heliotrope in front of the ocean or a walk along the coast... Perfect for spring & summer. For sure for floral & powdery lovers. The salt gives a twist! In fact, I can detect a small touch of vanilla. The waves in the background... A travel just with a perfume.

Pure sunlight and mimosa. This fragrance transports you to a beautiful summer morning. I would buy this immediately if autumn wasn’t around the corner. Definitely picking it up next year.

like wearing a freshly washed sweater to a saltwater taffy shop at the coast. like a vanilla vintage boutique. like chalky, old fashioned candy. opened VERY powdery sweet floral cotton, like warm laundry detergent and candy, then eventually, after hours, came through with more vanilla. wish there was more sandalwood to give it more depth, but probably perfect for some people as is. something about this reminds me of Choward's violet mints. barely get any mimosa in this, which is sad because that's what mainly interested me. powdery, floral, musky vanilla does not mimosa make (I used to be a floral designer so probably my standards are high) but overall a nice scent. not my vibe at all, though.

Light floral aquatic scent. The fragrance opens with a central mimosa note surrounded by slight heliotrope and linden. The heart brings out the aquatic direction of the scent with some salt, synthetic musk and ambergris. As the perfume fully dries, one detects notes of vanilla, slight sandalwood and smoky notes. The slightly feminine leaning scent has moderate sillage and longevity. Too fleeting to make a huge impact. Enjoy!

My least favoured Thomas de Monaco release, purely from a personal standpoint. Piercingly sharp and salted, blindingly bright, and clean whilst maintaining that sugary, powdery pissiness I get from Mimosa (see Une Fleur De Cassie by Dominique Ropion, for Malle). I get a really astringent, high pitched touch, almost like rosé wine (can anyone voucher for this)? My girlfriend gets nail polish remover (?) Too girly for me and way too high pitched and urinous but this house is very good.

Not at all what i expected out of this fragrance. I am familiar with mimosa and linden blossom and love them, and while they are present, the total vibe of this fragrance is similar to Organza. While this fragrance is whiter and lighter and more sheer, the spirit of organza is here, and its not salty, it is sweet and smells like cool exotic florals. I see no elements from raw gold here either as was described in article to the trio release. A pass for me, unfortunately
