Shelby Lane

As with all Thomson & Carter fragrances I've tested so far, I did not get on with the opening of this fragrance, they generally hit me as too harsh and a bit cheap. That being said, once the top note wore down, which didn't take very long, it left behind what I can only describe as a lovely shower gel scent. Reminiscent of Lynx (Axe) Apollo, A&F Fierce or maybe to an extent PDM Percival. Not surprising given Vetiver, Musk and Sandalwood are also base notes for Fierce. The brand do only list 3 notes, and I will say that my experience with Thomson & Carter so far is quite linear, not a huge amount of evolution in the scents. But when the scent is a pleasant one, I can't see why that matters. There is a citrusy lean to the opening, somewhere between a cleaning product lemon scent and a mandarin perhaps, and once the harshness disappears, it smells clean and pleasant. I can imagine it being inoffensive as a daily driver at the office or even as a gym scent, although to me, probably not a date night or big meeting. I personally am a fan of this type of scent, I know it can be divisive, or people view them as immature or basic, but clean is clean and if anything the bigger scents in this space tend to be Cologne / EDT strength, so an EDP is welcome in theory, however in terms of performance, I've not fully stress tested it, so I will come back to this review after some more usage. But initially it does come across a little weak for an EDP, 1-2 hours projection and 3-4 skin. But more testing needed, so tbc. Overall, if you like this type of scent profile, it's a nice one, a solid 7 or 8 out of 10, which could creep higher if performance is there.

Lovely clean scent... not the most powerful one but def a office safe male fragrance. 100% recommend

This is the only one out of this brand that i really like. The smoke and mirror one is decent but this one is a Winner for sure. The notes say 3 things but i think there are a few more things hidden in it. Maybe it really is just 3 things.. But they're a good combo. This is light. It has depth but not too deep. It has appeal. Anyone wearing this would not be offending anyone as they walk by. It smells good and it would be a very safe office scent or anyplace indoors all day. It isn't the best on the projection.. You could spray a few times and it would maybe jump out a little more but it is about arms length at best. It didn't last too long on my skin but i loved the scent. It's a solid 8 or 8.5 out 10 for me. Very appealing and if it had maybe Bergamot and maybe a flower like Honeysuckle, ylang-ylang or Lily in it.. it would be even better. This is like a White T-shirt and blue jeans kind of fragrance. Very laid back and smells great.

I think I love this one, My mother bought a fragrance and had gotten the sample of this, I took a smell and holyyyy it is good. This perfectly catches my taste for fragrances, classy and timeless. You get that smell of wood and the beautiful blend of musk. You don't get much vetiver, whats perfectly fine for me. 80€ for a 100ml? seems fine for me too. If you want a fragrance that smells classy, not to overwhelming, office scent and something that does not scream for attention. This might be for you. I think its also a perfect every year around scent, I would not wear it on hot days tho since it might not be suitable for it. I still have it on my hand, it does not project crazy, longevity I also don't know yet. I get the feeling it will not hold long. Right now its a good 7/10 for me

Had to wash it off straight away. Reacted badly with my skin. Smelled like citrus floor cleaner to me.

This smells like man.....🫠 I could smell this all day!! Imagine, giving him long, warm kisses in to his neck, wrapped in his arms, and inhale this sweet, sexy essence of masculinity. The fragrance is not too old and not too young. Its fresh, intoxicating and a penis with legs.... ill take 2!!!!!! 🤤
