Evergreen

Smoky campfire in snowy evergreen forest. Big smoke at first spray, softening to pine needles and fir with a film of smoke slipping through the forest. Evocative of camping and evenings by the fire. It's rather addictive. My nose is having a problem coming away from my skin. I just want to button myself into some plaid flannel and go find someone to sit under the stars with while watching the flames of a campfire dance.

Smells lovely and natural. I get the pine cones, fir needles / resin, a hint of smoke, and a fleeting and faint oud. By the time I get dressed, it stops projecting. I can smell it 2 inches from my skin, but no farther away. I am willing to put a like here, because it does smell good, but it's a tepid one, as it's largely a subtle skin scent.

From the notes (fir cone, pine needle. guaiac wood, cedar, smoke, oakmoss, agarwood Vanilla) this sounded like my dream fragrance. Unfortunately I used up my whole 2ml sample trying to convince myself that I liked it and yet it was not to be. It smells like slightly "stale" fir balsam absolute, and there are no other notes I can detect. The "staleness" renders an almost cleaner-like quality to it as well, and I don't like that at all. There are certainly pine needles present, but the smoke and oakmoss and oud just are not evident to my nose at all. Just as well that I didn't like it though, it's not cheap stuff.

This is so smoky. The pine is there but it goes away very quickly and is replaced by a burning pine forest. I did not like any of the samples I got from this house. I really love natural perfumes and have quite a few but this house did not impress me at all.

The pine opening is so realistic that I was sawing a pine plank in a hot attic and paused to sniff what I thought was the aromatic fresh cut surface - but found instead it was this scent I’d put on earlier. After a couple of hours the cedar comes through. A further couple of hours it has dried down to something delightful that reminds me of a mix of citronella and engine oil. If it was listed as a note I’d say it was a smokey vetiver.
