Tiffany for Men

I have a mostly-full 50ml bottle of this now, with the "Cologne" written front bottom, that I picked up off ebay. And looking to get two more similar bottles. Slightly sweet, spicy powder. Very, very nice. Just a hint of animalic funk to add old school charm. Longevity appears to be here despite old vintage juice. Lancome Sagamore from 1986 is the closest I've experienced, not identical certainly, but very close. Sagamore no doubt took inspiration from Chanel Pour Monsieur so that's an indication of the kinship of Tiffany for Men and Pour Monsieur. But Tiffany for Men has similarities to CK Obsession for Men too, especially due to the powderiness of the orris root and slight sweetness overall. In fact after several wearings now I've placed Tiffany for Men as sort of a hybrid of Chanel Pour Monsieur and CK Obsession for Men. Out of the four (Pour Monsieur, Sagamore, CK Obsession for Men, and Tiffany for Men), all of which I love and have full bottles of, I think I like the DNA of Tiffany for Men best. That says a lot. Derivative but done to perfection. Tiffany for Men is an example of what can be considered a "barbershop" frag that is not technically a Fougere. This is predominantly a Spicy Amber frag, but it has lavender and "green notes" - thus Fougere touches - and the barbershop powderiness from the orris root. Should this be brought back? Absolutely. And I sent an email to Dua Fragrances requesting that an "Inspired Expression" (i.e. clone) of Tiffany for Men be created. The Dua rep said they would pass the request up. Tiffany for Men, like the discontinued Gucci Envy for Men and YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme (both of which have Dua clones), would be a perfect clone target for them. Update: I picked up yet another bottle, this one more recent without the word "Cologne" written across the bottom. It is more recent reformulated juice, and I could detect reformulation right off the bat. Still very much Tiffany for Men. Still absolutely outstanding and a love. But just ever so slightly less deep, rich, and as someone above wrote, the older vintage version seems a little more animalic than the newer reformulated juice. Both the same fragrance in essence, both fantastic, but older vintage a bit better. Update: OK I've picked up several more bottles. I'm obsessed with it. I don't want to run out of this juice and no clone houses have cloned it to my knowledge, and it's a collector's item

Revisiting after almost 2 years in storage - I had been unimpressed when taking a few whiffs now and again from the cap. I wore it today which was a perfectly damp, dreary NW day - and wow! I forgot how it transforms significantly on skin. The lemon and other citrus notes pop right out of the gate and keep on giving softened by the sandalwood. The powdery notes don't really linger on skin (to me in any case). I also enjoy Pour Monsieur, which is quite close, but so glad I got a bottle for this before it was discontinued! It also contains several notes that remind me fondly of my mom's Chanel No. 5. Luckily, I've got a 100 ml bottle, which will last me for years to come during cozier seasons. Inspires me to start a fire and put on some jazz.

VERY interesting frag,bittersweet balance between orange peel sandalwood and true natural iris root very powdery effects in the middle you can feel something like honey. At the end a beautiful amber effects it remind me the amazing end of M7 with ambergris replacer now lost somewhere in the Ifra restrictions. not dated not so masculine. better then its competitors like chanel pour monsieur (concentrèe),bois du portugal and...Dior Homme intense!! Personally I think Tiffany is more contemporary and easy to wear than Dior Homme(last formula) The idea iris+somethingsweet woody etc is best done in the Tiffany the only with some points in common is PdN NEW York but this one completly lost orris root note; afterall tiffany is nobler 9.5/10

Like a classic Cadillac. It's comfortable, good looking, plush, and the ride is smooth as silk. I do see the resemblance Chanel PM which I wore last week although that just was freshly made so the citrus had more pop. I love that it's got some funky musk and carnation which is period correct for vintage French perfumes. The orris, nutmeg, sandalwood, anise, cinnamon, and tonka forms a spicy powdered vibe that is very classy. A highly sought after fragrance for good reason. A pleasure to wear whenever I'm in the mood for a classic scent that is more dressed up than others. I was lucky enough to find a bottle of the vintage, darker liquid, `COLOGNE` labeled version online and it its worlds apart from the modern version. Now all the rave reviews make sense. This begins very quietly, almost disappearing on the skin for the first 15 minutes, before it sneaks up on you and starts to radiate this amazing warm woodsy glow, like sunshine shining through the window in the dead of winter, warming up the old wooden furniture and making the whole room glow. Sniffing this after the first 15 minutes for the first time made me look off into space for a moment and gave me that `whoosh` feeling..

Here is another BEAUTY of the 80s I wear with delight . So my ladies , if you appreciate gorgeous fragrances such as Bel Ami by Hermes give a try to Tiffany for men , the first formula in the aqua blue box without the horizontal line ( this one being the second version ) . It is not a macho men perfume and I find it even easier to be pulled off by a lady compared with the other Jacques Polge's beauty Egoiste first version ( Eau de Toilette is written above Chanel on the bottle of the very first formula ) . Tiffany is a must have !

Yet again, another older fragrance that really blew me away. This is one of the better fragrances I've come across in my fragrance journey. If I ever get around to smelling Pour Monsieur by Chanel I will report the similarities, as Tiffany for Men has been discontinued for quite some time and prices on bidding sites are pretty high. If you look sharp and you want to smell sharp, this is your ticket. (I like to wear it lounging around the house :P ) I'm fortunate to possess this in my collection.

FOR ME: - It s not a cologne, not at all. - Powerful and well built fragance. - Tonic and optimistic, but not in the sportive way. - Only for winter or fall evenings - Goes for the same way of Encre Noir, Antidote, Prada Amber Pour Homme and Patchuly line by ReminicenseMust de Cartier. - Not so "monsieur" or classic - Adaptable, easy to wear, cozy and comfortable. - Saddly discontinued - Prejuice: Tiffany s fragance is only for billonaire old men: NO!

@beaufort: the scent was recently relaunched and is back in active production; I suppose we added a second entry at that time unsure if it would be the same as the original. @morkant: it is quite similar to the original though slightly smoothed out around the edges; I remember the original being just a bit sharper. But it is the same scent overall and when I tested it a few weeks ago, very enjoyable with good lasting power.

Tiffany presentation are always gorgeous, that said first spray had me showing teeth like a colegate commercial lml :D it's surprisingly good. love the powdery dry down, and it's opening is enormous but in a beautiful way. I can't say it's a safe blind buy, but I will say for those who enjoy unisex fragrances, & are confident with a netmeg/powdery scent will absolutely be smiling like the cat in Alice :D

Thick (but not cloying) gem from the Eighties Rich, masculine notes from the cardamom-laden opening to the warm and boozy middle, much like its kissing cousin, Pour Monsieur by Chanel Is it worth its (discontinued, relatively hard to find) price tag? I would say yes, but I've been a solid fan for decades now. (In short, maybe I'm slightly biased.) Lovely stuff!

Opens up with a Kouros-like, 80's kind of smell but then it settles into Old Spice with sandalwood. Can't really complain, I have been searching all this time for something like Old Spice but with better performance, I think this might be it. Not recommended for younglings, it definitely has an old man vibe, no wonder Mr. Maillard likes it so much :v

last night, just before going to bed, i used the last few drops i had of this gem. i know it sounds silly, but to know that i may never have the chance so smell Tiffany for Men again makes me almost cry. its like letting go a good old friend. :-(

Masculine masterpiece. Haven't dared sprayed more than 1 1/2 sprays. And even then I only wear when I'm going to be outdoors. A formal Summer Wedding Parfum. More complex than Pour Monsieur in my opinion. CPM is for the office.

I'll start by saying that I didn't realize that I'd like this fragrance as much as I do. I got a sample of it from a fellow fragrantica member and thought it was pretty good. It's spicy, clean, powdery, ever so slightly sweet but I don't really smell the woods coming through. At best, maybe a hint of woods but certainly nothing at the forefront. Nevertheless, I thought it was nice and classy enough to get a bottle. Since this was a "like" and not a "love" fragrance for me, I thought I'd buy a bottle if I could get a good price. After looking a bit on Ebay, I found exactly that and bought it. The bottle I bought was used and I'm fairly certain that it's a vintage bottle. I've been told that the vintage is different than the reformulation but I don't know which identifying charactaristics to look for on the bottle to discern the difference. Anyway, I'm thinking it's vintage, because the bottle I have smells exactly like the vintage sample I was given. After spraying it on, rather than using the 1ml dauber from the sample to swipe it on, I have to say that I can't stop sniffing my wrist and that it's rapidly moving up the scale from "like" to "love". Excellent fragrance: 8/10

Tiffany For Men (vintage): For completely unknown reasons, I always avoided reviewing Tiffany For Men. There's something about it that hardly translates into words but, when it comes to classics from the golden age of masculine perfumery, this is definitely one of my pillars. A rich and complex spicy-woody concoction with an intoxicating mossy presence and an endless ambery-woody drydown. Somehwere in the middle of an hypothetical triangle composed by Parfums De Nicolai New York, Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree and Habit Rouge. More complex than PDN's New York, sort of the good-looking twin of Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree and definitely less sweet than Habit Rouge yet, somehow, related to all three. A masterwork of restraint and elegance for anyone who doesn't want to give up on both character and presence. There's really not much to add here if not that anyone who's into fragrance more than simply for *panty-dropping* matters, shouldn't miss the chance to at least experience these masterworks from the past before they're gone forever. Rating: 8.5-9/10

I have been wearing this every day for the last week. I actually got it as a sample when I was part of a split. I have read "old fashioned", "overrated".... I will say this.. it could easily move into my top 5 lists and could be a signature for me. For some reason it does it for me (my nose). It starts spicy and citrus like a lot of "powerhouse" frags. And then the sandlewood (which I usually have not liked) comes in giving it a woody sweetness. Then it becomes sweeter in the heart for me, but not desert or candy or sugary it is all held in check by the spicy accords and the creamy woodiness. As it gets deeper into the heart it becomes a bit powdery but not in a bad way. It adds to the sophistication the charm so to say of the fragrance, etching up the elegance in my opinion. The longevity is superb, the aroma tantilizing and the quality outstanding. I am going to work through a sample set I purchased on ebay and if I wear it like I think I am headed to Tiffany in North Dallas to make a full bottle mine!

My Tiffany for men.....another cherished diamond from Chanel's master nose jacques Polge. Hard to find, only sold by Tiffany online and sometimes (if you are very lucky) on ebay. This 1989 scent is 200 % pure lust, pure elegancy in a bottle. Put on your nicest suit, your finest tie, your 10 K panerai designers watch andjust a few sprays of this delicious scent. Go dining in your favorite michelin two star restaurant with your favorite girl and enjoy...... Everybody you meet wearing this recognizes the sophistication, the luxury and refinement of this scent in an instand. In my top 5, for sure....if you can get your hands on one, buy it! ( you won't even have to try it)

Sweet citrussy/fruity, powdery and spicy, this is a scent that spice-loving women can easily wear as well. I certainly would if I had it! On me spices have the centre stage, quite a lot of anise and cloves (even if cloves is not listed, that's what I got maybe from carnation), sometimes a bit too strongly for my tastes but mostly well balanced by the sweet fruitiness and warm base. Personally I don't find it an elegant scent, for that it is too fruity-sweet and slightly lacking in balance (but not complexity), but a very nice one to wear when feeling like something warm, sweet and spicy. It has a real "classic" vibe without feeling superexclusive.

If you love classic masculine scents and the Chanel house, you'll like this Tiffany. Absolutely beautiful, safe, versatile and manly. If it had better longevity this could be fb worthy. Low-moderate performance overall. About 3-3.5 hours. Try by yourself do not trust the votes about performance.

Groomed,dressed up and ready for cruising down town. what a delight to be able to wear a fantastic scent that almost nobody owns and nobody recognizes.... Last time i've been getting a lot of compliments and questions.......this is a well kept secret, ladies and gentleman.

Very nice scent...Initial spray was something almost like candied yams (not unpleasant)...a bit powdery...can get cloying if heavily applied...Has one of the better sandalwood/patchouli drydowns I've experienced so far.

A warm, powdery, mature scent perfect for cool and cold weather. Very long lasting and above average projection.

IT. Questo profumo è incredibile. Infatti, è incredibile come sono riusciti mettere tutti questi meravigliosi ingredienti per ottenere un risultato così miserabile. Infatti, in Italia non lo vendono più, anche nei boutique di Tiffany&Co. EN. This perfume is amazing. In fact, it's amazing how they was able to use all these wonderful ingredients to get so miserable result. In fact, in Italy Tiffany's perfumes aren't sold anymore even in Tiffany & Co's boutiques.

Well crafted and blended, but way too subdued to my taste. Verging on the line between subtle and plain weak, but erring on the side of the latter. A classic commercial sensibility to it, unfortunately. Smells like entering an elevator in a very high class building and someone who used it before had some expensive perfume.

The first time I fell in love with fragrance was in 1975 aged 15. My mum was an Avon representative and gave me my first ones, like "Tai Winds" "Spicy" "Blue Blazer" and such. But it was when she gave me an aftershave bottle in the shape of a Champion spark plug which was filled with a new aftershave called "Oland", that I knew I had found my style of fragrance. It had such an amazing effect on changing how I felt. It was winter and perfect for wearing then, with its cinnamon & orris root warmth along with benzoin, cardamom and sage. Sadly it was discontinued, and I didn't find anything else to match or replace it with.. until 27 years later in Saks of Fifth Avenue, Sarasota, Florida, I discovered "Tiffany For Men" which was even better. It had become my new number one fragrance for the next 15 years.. until eventually, "TFM" was discontinued also. My heart sank 💔🥺 3 weeks ago I was flicking channels on tv and a fragrance on TJC got the better of my curiosity.?? I bought it, opened it as soon as it arrived I sprayed some on. As soon as it left the automizer there was a sudden explosion 🎆 of my favourite Tiffany for Men fragrance notes 😤 which I can only describe as better.. 🎉😀×10.🎊 🌌🙏😔 Thank you my sweet Lord for giving us "William Hunt Oud De Parfum" my prayers have been answered. For all of my peers who loved the true vintage "Tiffany For Men".. don't take my word for it.. just give "William Hunt Oud De Parfum" a try. I am sure you will be well impressed! Tiffany for Men is a classic masculine fragrance that I'm glad to own. I have to be in the mood to wear it, but it never lets me down. It's a very floral, powdery oriental like Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree (released the same year and also by Jacques Polge), however Tiffany for Men smells more refined and classy. I usually hate powdery fragrances, but this one is tolerable and complex - it's really the only true powdery fragrance I enjoy. Also, look for the chypre structure hidden under that powder; yeah, it's an oriental, but there's a chypre in there too and that's some good blending. When I say I have to be in the mood to wear it, this is mainly because I have trouble wearing powdery orientals when I'm moving around. It may sound weird but it can make me feel heavy, hot, and bothered. I have the same problem with a few Amouage fragrances. Tiffany for Men can be a doozy for many fellas, but when approached with an open mind it's not so bad, and will most likely grow on you over time. That being said, I find it quite formal, so I usually save it for formal occasions.

The ultimate powdery, sandalwood oriental designer men's fragrance, I'd say. There was talk that there are at least two versions. All I can say is that the one I have is very strong and long-lasting. The other thing is that the oakmoss is quite strong (which may be why it had to be reformulated, if it was), so you've got several strong notes that waft up, and if you don't like any one of them, you will probably not like this one. This is not for the office or the summer, and most young guys would think this too "old," I'd guess. It's natural smelling and well blended. I'll also mention that if it's too strong you can dilute it with perfumer's alcohol (I just use vodka), which is what I've done successfully (for my tastes) with Kouros and One Man Show. The only other one I can think of in this category is JHL, but that one comes across as more "floral" than this one. Also, JHL isn't as dynamic as Tiffany. However, lately I just can't wear this one, due to a searing quality that I have yet to encounter in any other!

There's no doubt that if you're familiar with Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT Concentree or vintage Egoiste, you'll find Tiffany For Men a bit familiar. Definitely feels like this was brewed from the same base blend. Slightly more powder and sandalwood, less sweet. Longevity seems to be about the same. Overall, this is a fine variant, one worth owning. This was a sleeper up until this past year. More bidding competition now is starting to punch into new pricing highs, but you can still find deals if you are patient. Is it better than Chanel's fragrances? Well, that's subjective. I say they're both worth owning. Highly recommended, as well as reading of Alfarom and Colin Maillard's reviews. NOTE: There is also a "Cologne Concentree" version. It's very much like the base cologne, but not more concentrated... a little more astringent, less wood. Not a huge difference. Somewhere between a flanker and the original Fragrance: 9.5/10.

Tiffany for Men is a fragrance that is warming to the soul. I enjoy the anamalic funk mixed with carnation, patchouli and orris root. Thank you to my friend who sent me a vintage decant of this beauty. This is a very calming fragrance I would wear while visiting Chicago on a date. My hypothetical Chicago date would be comforted by a blanket of warmth and security. The vintage version seems a little more animalic than what the rep sprayed on me at Nordstroms a couple of years ago. I thought the modern release was also superb. For me Salvador Dali Pour Homme is similar, although it doesn't have the citrusy notes which make Tiffany for Men brighter. Salvador Dali Pour Homme is a must buy, because it's much less expensive and recently has been widely available. It's darker than Tiffany for Men, but gives me a similar calming vibe.

Tiffany For Men was one of those fragrances I thought I would never smell in my life due to its rarity and scarcity, but last week it was a complete surprise for me to be able to find a new 50ml bottle of this masterpiece, yes the vintage "cologne" labeled, and you wouldn't believe I paid 60 dollars for it. A rich and beautiful composition by master Polge, which is as 90s as it can be. You can immediately smell Chanel's DNA, like if Pour Monsieur EDP and Egoiste had a son, it even has a very slightly animalic touch that resembles Antaeus, but its just minimum, just to make you remember its vintage (but not outdated) aspect. It even reminds me of Versus Uomo in the spicy side (which is one of my all time favorites). TFM is another perfect example of why the 80s and 90s were the glorious years of mens perfumery.

My most worn fragrance. In the class of fragrances found in CPMC, Bois de Port, Nikolai NY, (I’ve heard alos Versace l Homme), Santos, Heritage, etc. so it’s a crowded field for a somewhat dated powdery style, though i can’t resist. I wear vintage Santos Cartier at eves at home where I generally don’t wear shirts and that one creates a kind a “hummus” (musky earthy powdery aura), but Tiff is meant for my work wear when I go out etc. I invested in vintage splash bottles so that I could tweak with a little ambergris and some drops of one of Suktan Pasha’s attars (Poudre Noir) and the effect is very satisfactory. Tenacious holding power, lasts and lasts. Jacques Polge was amazing.

There are times in life you buy an item to be able to say you bought something from a certain place. Tiffany & Co. famous torquoise color boxes or bags are recognizable by everyone. I don't remember if I bought this scent for the reason mention or because I enjoyed the fragrance back then. The fragrance is complex and sweet(very artificial Vanilla). I have a little left but use it more as a room fragrance. It does have staying power but it is somewhat dated. I am glad I can say I have purchased something from Tiffany & Co. This is not a fragrance I will be purchasing again.

Gorgeous professionals I knew wore this one. M.D.'s, attorneys, international businessmen (and women) relished in this masterpiece. And so did I although I'm nothing to fancy and marvel at as opposed to the folks I knew who did wear this fragrance. I'm not, nor was I one, a loyal devotee of the Tiffany & Co. fan club. I just loved the fragrance for men, that was all. Simply stated. I remember the uproar amongst my circle when it was discontinued! Oh, the memories!

I've seen many of this being a good powdery men's fragrance. I tried it on at the store the other day and I would certainly agree with the comparison of notes with PM, but I do think this is a little bit more subtle - which I like. I went to purchase a bottle and the sales rep indicated that this fragrance is no longer in production so I bought two. If you're a particular fan of this fragrance, now might be the time to pick up an extra bottle.

I tried it this week after failing to find an older version of Chanel pour monsieur. I went into Tiffany's and asked to sample it, and then walked out. After about an hour I decided that I wanted it. This cologne has a semi-sweet, rich buttery wood scent that is unlike anything else I've tried. This friday, I will walk back into Tiffany's and purchase a bottle. Probably the first of many more over the course of my life.

This is very dificult to me. I bought a sample bottle of 5ml from Fragrancex and I love it. This is a woody-spicy masterpiece, incredible well blended. Then, I bought a bottle from Ebay and looks to be original, but.... Smell too light and cheap. Like a watered down version.... Will be the new formulation that somebody talks ??. I will never know it... :(

Very nice fragrance. However, I prefer the similar Chanel Pour Monsieur. As you probably know, it was created by the same person around the same time (1989). However, the sweetness and distinguishable complexity of the Chanel puts the Pour Monsieur a full step above. Oh yeah, and the Chanel is about $25 cheaper. Go figure.

All I get is nutmeg, vanilla and baby powder from this. Too sweetly gourmand for me and slightly old man-ish. Has that same creamy/spicy note of Jaipur Homme which I cant put my finger on but I don't like (maybe it's the nutmeg) I know its expensive and it has a well crafted air to it, it's just too stuffy for my taste.

Not discontinued only exclusive to Tiffany website and stores. A very classic well done men's fragrance not for anyone younger then 30 years old and established. Though listed as cologne it is edt strength with good longevity and the proper sillage for a refined man.

I got a sample of this and cant help but think of brute or old spice, not sure which one....any of u smell a resemblance ?? Excellent longevity/projection this is not cologne Update: this has the best longevity of any frag I have tried till

Officially discontinued. Tiffany is now courting the younger crowd with the new Him & Her scent. If you can find this classic bottle cheap, jump on it. It is good stuff. Chanel Pour Monsieur EDP is the closest thing to this amazing scent.

This perfume is me. This is ION. Unfortunately there's no way to get it here, Tiffany won't ship it either and my sister who visits New York every 2 months has no free time to get it for me. Any kind soul out there? :-)

Do you guys think that this scent has a close resemblance to Escada for Men? I have Escada for Men & sampled a couple of sprays of this. It's got that powdery-citrus musk classic vibe going on. What do you guys think?

It's really rather lovely but it's far to soft. Had this been a parfum I'd have been all over it for a scent profile like this to be so weak and light...well its just a disappointment.

I'll say this in the simplest way possible: Woody incense with sweet spiciness. It has class, elegance, and quality. It's awesome. A definite winner, and versatile.

Its vintage juice has got that amazing powdery drydown despite its citrus opening similar to a lighter version of a vintage Chanel PM.

This Cologne reminds me of Clive Christian No. 1. This one smells rich. But synthetic. It's not a perfect scent, but a good one.
