McGraw

Wow, this was a scent that I was wrong on. Back in 2011, I tested this in a Wal-Mart near my college. I tried it and thought that it was merely the wet dog old man scent. This was back in my Axe/Old Spice body spray days when I was young and dumb and never even tried Bath & Body Works Ocean. Fast forward five years to 2016, I got older, wiser and more open to scents. I tested it in a Sears and liked it but not enough to plunk down $22 for a 1oz/30ml bottle. Then on Halloween night, I take a faithful trip to a Big Lots and in the mess of clones I found McGraw. I picked it up and purchased along with some clones. I actually bought it for $3.00USD for a 0.5oz/15ml bottle in the holiday packaging, marked down from $10.00USD from wherever it was before Big Lots. I ended up buying two... Immediately, I opened one and sprayed it on the back of my hand and I LOVED it. This fragrance is a typical Coty drug store scent like the Stetson colognes and Preferred Stock. I do like even love these but this is different. There is something special in these scents that isn't in most of the drug store branded Coty brands. A number of the notes are fairly similar to most Coty scents like the Stetsons and Preferred Stocks. Most Coty scents have a mix of a citrus note, nutmeg, some type of wood, lavender and amber. What sets this fragrance apart from the pack is the boozy quality. The whiskey note is a beast. It smells so clean yet dirty at the same time. This is a good bar scent. This is not a club banger like 212 VIP Men or its flankers, but rather a relaxing night out at the bar after a long day at work scent. To me, this is a better and more modern Stetson, even more so that Stetson Caliber which is a scent I love. McGraw hits upon the classic Stetson scent that even Preferred Stock has, even if I call it the city slicker cousin to Stetson. This is like Stetson's nephew and cousin to Stetson Caliber. Not that they smell a like but rather that they have similar DNA within the same level for price range and maker. The main note I smell is the whisky. Perhaps this is why I didn't like it at first when I tried it some five years ago but now I am kicking my own ass for passing on it. It projects at least three hours on me. It lasts somewhere around 6/7 hours. It is a night scent prefect for the fall and winter or the bar scene, especially cowboy bars. I think that McGraw is a really good cheapie, my specialty. However it smells not too unique but yet unique enough. I rate McGraw an 8.0 but I still mark it as a love.

this is a very nice scent IF YOU LIKE STRONG, BOOZY NOTES!! i personally love it. It starts off right off the bat with a very strong whiskey note along with nutmeg, some tonka bean, and amber as well. VERY strong when you first apply it. It can be too strong for you to get close to people for the first hour and a half of the fragrance but its tolerable after that. This is DEFINITELY not made for summer. this should only be used as a "night out with the boys" fragrance in fall, spring, and winter. Also, since its a deep scent, it's not suited for wear to parties, its meant for casual, laid back occasions. While its very strong on opening, it lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin with nice projection for about 3 hours. Despite the fact that the longevity and projection are OK to good, the sillage is great. this thing will linger around for a while. This can me found at Walmart for $20 for an ounce, so there is no need to try to get it online and risk getting a fake or spoiled batch. Out of all of the colognes I own, this one is one of my favorites. To me, it almost smelled like Dr. Pepper. When first put on, it smells smooth and sweet with the subtle spice of nutmeg. It later develops to a more woody scent with the sandalwood and very light undertones of whiskey. Not a real robust fragrance but definetly a good manly scent. I would have to say though, it may be a potentially more difficult fragrance for everyone to wear-smells a lot better on some rather than others (my friend liked it on me and got it for his self, but didn't really smell great on him). overall, I'd give this an 8/10

Man, do I love this scent. I am currently half-way through my second bottle, and I still cannot give the fragrance enough love. McGraw gives off a very mature feeling fragrance. This cologne has a very warm feel to it. The nutmeg, whiskey, amber, and tonka bean jump out the most to me. The fragrance last a good 4 - 6 hours on my skin. Just the perfect amount needed to last me through a day at work or a night out. However, silage could be better. I put around 3 sprays on before I went to lunch with my girlfriend, and she could barely smell it on me, even though she was right beside me.

so a few hours ago I found this in my medicine cabinet, I probably picked it up at a flea market in a box of junk i bought off a seller there. I have to say this stuff like you spilled whiskey on your self but good whiskey, has a lot of that outdated Avon cologne vibrance to it but it is more enjoyable. this is probably the most expensive and heavy smelling cologne I have ever had, on the first sniff and first smell I didn't like it then it started to smell good, very enjoyable hours later. I would say you could wear this anytime.
