L'EAU DE PARFUM N°1

I was looking for a realistic green scent, but wearable. I'm trying to baby step into more herbal forest-y type scents and after being a little underwhelmed with Ellis Brooklyn's Apres, I thought I'd dig deeper and came across this brand. I was super intrigued by the soil note as I don't think that's an actual note, moreso, maybe a phantom note. I have yet to try Andrea Maack's Coven, but after reading reviews that it's been reformulated and the soil note not that prominent in that one, opted for this one instead. I can't even describe to you the many phases of this fragrance. It's herbal without smelling medicinal. Dry and slightly bitter. It gives me a bit of an old school cologne vibe which, as a female, I was worried about, but it doesn't last that long. I love the mid the most. That soil note is very interesting. My first experience with that note. It actually smells like soil like the soil on the forest grounds when the season is transitioning from winter to spring. It's not damp, but moreso, dry. The way the soil dances with the leather note...who knew that soil and leather would go perfectly together. I feel like there's at least 4 different phases and in all phases, I get the citrus. Citrus tends to really grab onto my skin, YMMV. The transitions are smooth. I can't tell when one ends and the other begins and the notes melt perfectly together. I can smell each one. This is an amazing fragrance. I would say unisex leaning masculine, but like the below reviewer said, a boss man or woman. You can dress it up or down. I'd imagine I'd wear this on a nature walk. If you want realistic soil note, try this one out. I have a few from this houses offerings and all are amazing and long lasting.

My favorite and I think most versatile scent from the collection. It’s everything it’s meant to be, earthy, powdery and citrusy. You can smell the leather and oakmoss in the base giving the fragrance almost an herbal feel to it. Very well blended and gentle, while still remaining intricate

A very dry, elegant fragrance. Scent for boss man or woman. I smell geranium, leather and moss through all 3 fazes of fragrance life. Moderate projection and longevity.

An herbal, mossy, green scent, fresh and light with a hint of incense. Ever so slightly leaning masculine, but I think I could pull it off. Reminds me of a less sweet CdG Zagorsk. Could be nice for a walk through botanical gardens.

💈Barber Józek from Mariacka Street 💈 I walk down the stairs to the basement of a tenement house. Here, beneath Gdańsk, Józek has had his shop for forty years. The walls remember the communist era, but the chairs are even older. It smells of talcum powder, cologne, and something fizzy - as if someone opened a vintage 7Up in the middle of a barbershop. Józek pours cologne from a thick bottle without a label onto his hands. "I make it myself" - he says and rubs my neck. It stings, fizzes, smells of bergamot and herbs he collected somewhere outside the city. The air carries the scent of talcum powder from a large tin, aftershave powder, and something earthy - as if he was growing moss in the basement. No. 1 is exactly that scent. Earth mixes with powder, bergamot with talcum, and leather with moss.| Sounds like madness, smells like mastery. @the.scent.files
