Iron Wind

Ahh, the smell from distant sheds along quiet village roads where inside old careful hands forge steel swords over ancient fires. The faint breeze rustles the bamboo trees beside the narrow road and above white herons glide serenely in the early morning sky. The short grass in the meadow is still wet with dew and the waves of orchids along the sloping hillsides have begun to bloom. When the breeze picks up, the cedar from the forest beyond the road washes over you. The air is cool and sharp. The villagers call this morning breeze the Iron Wind. This is a fragrance for quiet moments alone or intimate moments with someone with whom you want wake up beside. This is anti-perfume and it is glorious! bon.chance

As always, I start my reviews with a disclaimer about how I don't get into notes but experiences and similar smells (obviously similar to me). In this case, the similar smell is that of Lagerfeld Classic. Now this is not a bad thing but my thing and I like it. There is certainly a step-up in quality and a little extra something there which just drives me to wear this until I figure it out. However, the powdery Lagerfeld traces are very present. I know I like it and happy to have purchased the 100ml bottle (description only identifies 50 ml but there is a bigger size). I have an extensive collection (need to update my fragrance haves) and I have many houses (niche, indie and designer); this however will take a front seat for a while...maybe I am being a romantic as my trip to Japan was canceled because of COVID-19 but this scent is helping fill the void and remove the lingering disappoint of not going as planned.

this one is deep, dark and intriguing... it has notes of the black afgano / fortis / orto parisi scents, but as it progresses, it becomes very similar to Laudano Nero, which is a sweeter, port-like boozyness to it, which i do appreciate. this one is not really for me, but it certainly something worth seeking out and trialling...

Very nice, intriguing, and different, every niche/indie head should get their nose on this. I didnt have much time to smell this in a shop, but I want to get a sample to further investigate it. It was smooth, but rough around the edges, woody and resinous with an ethereal, warm nature.
