Everything & Nothing

I really like this scent, the balance of white florals, sweet orange, and earthier notes like moss and tea is just somehow magical. It's like Red Riding Hood traipsing through the forest with a basket of goodies. The first hit once applied is a sweet freshness, like entering a meadow to pick wildflowers while the scents wafting from the basket mix with those of the distant forest. The orange scent weaves in and out here, but doesn't really read as "citrus" to me, and certainly isn't tropical; it somehow comes off as a more gourmand note, like thin candied orange slices. In these opening notes, I pick up the white florals perhaps the strongest, but they are balanced by the orange so it doesn't come off as a traditionally floral perfume. Even though sweet, it is not cloying, nor overpowering. After an hour of this pleasant sweetness, the Earthier tones start coming through, as if Red's gone from the dewy meadow to the outskirts of a damp forest, and is now picking her way through the underbrush and getting her bearings. The sweet scent is still there, but lighter, now flanked by richer scents of moss and tea. It's this middle wear which is my favorite, though I love it start to finish. The earthiness grows deeper for a while, as if going deeper into the forest, with the day wearing on, with perhaps the scent of a wolf snatched up by the breeze now and then. But then it begins to lighten again. The tea recedes, though the moss still balances the sweetness, as if I've gone past the thickest trees and am headed to the other side. The sweeter orange scent begins to fade entirely. At last even the moss recedes, and everything lightens, as if we've finally reached Grandma's house and are inside now, but the scent of the forest still comes through the window. The "final form" of the perfume rests very close to the skin as a soft tea-tinted floral, as if Red finds real-grandma waiting, not a wolf, and grandma gives her a cup of soothing green tea with petals afloat to rest after the journey.

This is the perfume that made me fall in LOVE with fragrance. The first one that made me feel strongly, the one I still smell when I need to feel hopeful and alive. I'm sure not everyone will have such a strong scent-memory associated with this fragrance, but I first smelled this when I was deeply depressed, and it pulled me out of my apathy. Smelling this is a way of reminding myself how amazing life can be, even when its often awful. This was the first full-size perfume I bought, ever. I was 16 and clinically depressed, and I asked my mom to buy the full-size for me. She reluctantly did, and I treasured that bottle until it went bad about 10 years later. I immediately re-purchased it. Still one of my all-time favorites, Its floral without being overbearing, citrus-y without being sharp. Smells like a deep breath of clean, cool air feels. <3

This is one of my signature fragrances. The name is what got me. It has a philosophical emo vibe to it, like an Evanescence song. I'm a stereotypical Pisces so this sort of thing appeals to me. The strange thing is that the orange is very soft and in the background on me. I don't get much tuberose either. What stands out is the tea leaves, which for some reason Fragrantica leaves out. When I first tried it I got a rush of nostalgia, and then I realized: it smells like Green Teatherapy on me! I have so many pleasant memories of that inexpensive fragrance in high school. Everything and Nothing is like that mixed with oranges and a few more white florals. It's very soft and not at all harsh on me. But then again I can wear green fragrances and white florals very well.

I am glad I got to try this one before reading the reviews here, or else I probably wouldn’t have bothered. I could smell a small bit of citrus from the bottle, but once the scent settled on my skin it faded away pretty quickly and I was left with a beautiful floral, mossy, tea scent. I was surprised to see not many notes listed because to me, it smelled complex... yet simple. Intriguing yet familiar. Simultaneously a dark autumnal dusk and a breezy spring morning. Everything & nothing. I couldn’t stop thinking about this scent after I left the shop and it’s on my list to buy. The longevity was roughly 6-8 hrs on my arm but the sillage was about arm’s length initially, then closer to the skin as the day carried on. My favorite Tokyomilk scent so far.

Just received this scent as a gift! Thx babe, you rock!! I really enjoy this one! I love the way the sweet orange and the pressed petals combine to create this yummy, sweet citrusy, soft sweet floral composition which smells almost edible to me! It's creamy, sweet & fresh... it smells really good to me!! I would probably prefer to wear this one in spring and fall, but I will reach for it even on cold winter days, because it also seems to embrace me with a certain cuddly warmth... I really love this one! Good sillage & longevity 7+ hours ♥♥♥♥♥

One of my all time favourite scents. I am on my fourth bottle. The notes on the bottle are different than what's listed here, and the bottle notes describe it perfectly - sweet orange, pressed petals, desert moss, and tea leaves It opens with an effervescent sweet orange and then settles to a mossy tea scent with a hint of floral. If you want a mossy scent without to going to masculine, this is a fantastic option. This fragrance makes me happy whenever I wear it

The orange is secondary to me. The vetiver and tuberose I notice first. It's a very airy and clean scent. Rather precise in the way is wears on my skin. For a very cool scent it warms gently yet quickly. I wish it was a tad bit heavier. Its a rather flexible scent. Suitable for both day and evening wear. This fragrance doesn't wear very long though and that is not due to olfactory fatigue either. Beautiful scent nonetheless but I do wish it had greater sillage.

This is my all time favorite fragrance that I cannot go without. So much so that I always have a back up bottle in case it’s out of stock or gets discontinued. It’s a very sweet citrus on me at first, but has a dark earthy-ness from the moss and tea notes on the dry down. It makes me feel like a dark, mysterious princess walking in her sweet, candied garden. I always reach for this when I want to feel like me - truly my signature scent for nearly 10 years now.

Only scent I have ever bought blind and it might be my favorite. Has a subtle musty-ness to it that makes reminiscent of old book smell. I'd describe it as "musty orange", which makes it sound awful, when it's really such a mature and comforting scent. It smells clean in a lived-in kind of way. Smells like I've just finished eating an orange at my grandparent's house. I find it much more masculine than others here have. It's completely gender neutral to me.

I can't get enough of black tea fragrances and I am in love with this one. It smells very straightforward to me. Black tea, tart synthetic orange, some florals way, way in the background, and that's pretty much it. It gives me kind of peaceful feeling when I wear it, probably because of the association with tea. Much lovelier on the skin than out of the bottle, IMO.

This whole line has turned out to be one that I find interesting and unique. This is candy and baby aspirin (yes! that is exactly it!), girly and frilly, this is a scent for Lolita girls in their ribbons and bows on a mild spring day. Opening with an effervescent Orange and white flowers, the vetiver smooths it into hard candy on the drydown.

This is my favorite of the Tokyo Darks. You have to like the smell of orange to appreciate this fragrance as it is the most prominent note but the other notes are well integrated into the fragrance giving it an organic and mysterious quality. It is an excellent buy at $36, you can wear it, layer it, year round and it gets compliments galore.

I cannot say enough how much I love this perfume. It is very organic smelling- like bitter orange, moss and an underpinning of not too sweet rose. It is earthy and has great staying power. I have gotten many compliments. Even my husband likes it! I can't wait to get more fragrances from Tokyo Milk. I am impressed for 36$.

What a lovely, invigorating tea scent, opens bright but dries down into a strong earthy black tea. Smells a lot like the Black Tea body cream from bath and body works which I also happen to have and will layer nicely. A new favorite from Tokyomilk, will be snagging a full bottle immediately.

I won a sample of the lotion from a fellow Fragrantican. Since it was a lotion, I am not going to review longevity or sillage, as that would not be fair. However, I love the scent itself. This is a very sweet citrus, but with a refreshing note from the tea. I want to buy the actual perfume.

Such a beautiful scent. Some Tokyo milk scents that have a tea note give off a stale vibe, this is the opposite. So fresh with an almost aromatherapy vibe. Smells great on skin or clothes. I definitely need to repurchase.

All I smell is orange, tea, and the tiniest bit of floral. It doesnt smell complete, like theres something missing in between the orange and tea leaf notes. The notes never combine completely. No regrets here.

This perfume smells like black tea and citrus in a bottle in the most tart and refreshing way. 10000/10, people have asked me for the perfume name. It's pretty unique without breaking the bank!

This smells great on me. I've never been into citrus scents (outside of tropical lime stuff), but this one has a bright, almost orange flower water scent to it. I definitely want to buy this.

oranges and gardenias OH MY! heavy, tart, sweet, blessed loveliness! good lord, this entire line of tokyo milk dark is making me BROKE! i want them all...
