Figue Érotique

Absolutely divine use of fig in my opinion, I expected to not like it that much as my experience with figs in perfumes in the past has been very polarising, but its done so excellently in this, that I would instantly buy a full bottle and wear it on the regular; if only it was a little cheaper. It opens up on my skin with a fairly realistic (can still tell its a perfume though) Green fig, with none of the sharp edges, which is quickly joined by a leafy (faintly earthy/airy) kind of accord, with some fresh but restrained citruses which is a lovely start. I cant quite describe it since I'm a dude and I personally don't wear makeup, but the opening also has a kind of nuance/smell that's very reminiscent (to me) of something I've smelt within women's makeup or lipstick in the past, and its a pleasant smell which only adds further to the depth. However, it quickly transitions into the delectable mid, which is a Salty(still not sharp) and green yet smooth fig, with some Ylang-Ylang underneath, with a tinge of spiciness just enough to add some depth to every waft, and a subtle sugary sweet kinda smell too that's also present, but very very understated and more to add texture and roundness than as actual note(if that makes sense?). It remains like this for the grand majority of the scent, with the fig slowly losing prominence to the Ylang-Ylang after about 1-2ish hours but remaining in a sort of Limbo with each other vying for the dominant "fruity" smell, then tapering off for the remainder of the wearing, quite pleasant, but a little fleeting. I get a medium-strong projection within the first 2 hours, with it making a very very impressive scent bubble/cloud around me, with it being detectable consistently even when within strong wind currents which is a plus, after about the 2 hour mark though it tapers down into a light-medium projection. On my skin I got about 9-10 hours with it being harder to detect for the 5th-6th and onwards, in terms of wearability I think it's firmly unisex and only leans slightly feminine briefly in the opening/pre-mid, via the makeup reminiscent smell I get on my skin, perfect for both casual and formal wear too imo. Also a good all rounder for all of the year, fresh enough for summer, and has enough depth/groundedness for winter. Overall it was a love at first sniff as soon as it hit my skin, my only complaints are that the full retail pricing is a bit much(a common hiccup I have with Tom Fords), and I wish that the 1st half of the mid/dry down lasted for around an hour or 2 longer, but other than that, just smelling the fragrance puts a smile on my face, and the quality is most certainly there, just remember to sample first since Fig isn't everyone's jam, and although I personally have a hard time imagining this being properly offensive to other peoples noses, don't take my word for it and give it a try. Definitely one of the better releases TF has come out with as of recent, and I'm quite happy that I discovered this randomly at a TF boutique, so top marks from me. a respectable 8.7/10

There’s something so addicting to this one! I get the fig but it’s made darker and richer. I do love figs but only own a few and smelled a few more. It does start with milky and green fig. But after a while on skin it sweetens and becomes more fruity and sweet and darker in a way. It’s a really sensual fig if I could use that description. It’s not the sea breeze fig of Zara amber & fig cashmere, it’s not the cold creamy slightly dusty fig of Prada infusion de Figue, not the milky green woody fog of phylosicos. The fig in this one does remind me of the fig there is in Gris charnel edp by bdk. They are by no means the same scent. This one is more fig scentric but the fig has this same sweetness and fruitiness there is in Gris charnel. Very similar fig accord (I do repeat only the fig note is similar and only with the edp version of Gris charnel). It’s fresh and fruity and sweet but not syrupy or vanillic or cloyingly sweet. Just this sweet warmth underneath the fruity fig with some left overs of the opening’s greenness. I don’t know how it explain it. Also reminds me a lot of velvet orchid but less sweet and with fig and no tuberose if that makes sense. A comment below said “purple perfume” and I agree. Definitely try it if you’re a fig lover but be ready and don’t expect your regular “fig leaf, fig tree, milky Mediterranean air” fig. It is all that but only at the opening. Amazing one! Bought mine on a discount for 264€ which is a good price considering it costs around 355€ for 50ml in Germany. Longevity is mid which to be expected from tom ford nowadays. It definitely is loud for the first half of the wear and then settles and becomes more intimate with nice scent trail and bible around you. Ofcourse lasts longer on clothes..

I’ve been on the hunt for a fig perfume for a while.. so I was pleasantly surprised finding this beauty at an airport when it first came out! What I’ve been looking for is a darker and sweeter take on fig where the green notes take a back seat, so I had high hopes since this is coming from Tom Ford. I was afraid this would be dirtied by an oud note in their typical fashion... which is very much not the case! Initially upon spraying, there is some greenery, and a fresh, juicy and vibrant burst of fig that reminds one of a fig tree in the sun... after it has sat and developed on my skin for a few minutes it dries to a chewy, sugared dried fig, it’s dense and vaguely smoky. It’s tropical, sexy, provocative. It evokes the imagery of a humid summer sunset for me.. The projection is quite good and with one spray on the wrist it is comparable to a couple sprays of the average perfume on my neck and that scent bubble lasts for a good few hours. I can still smell it faintly on my skin the next morning. It is decently pricey but for me personally very worth it and definitely a year-round signature scent.

Many years ago, I vacationed in Javier, Spain in the middle of summer. Our yard had lush, beautiful landscaping and a fig tree. After morning swims in the Mediterranean, we spent sun-drenched afternoons lounging around eating tapas and ripe figs with honey plucked from our little tree. This fragrance took me right back. It is gorgeous and layered. The fig is photorealistic on me but I also get the leaves and the surrounding floral shrubbery. It is richly sweet on my skin without being cloying. There are darker notes to even it out without the standing out on their own. This is also truly unisex. I love it equally on my husband and it wears a little spicier on him. Typically when I experience a fragrance, I know exactly when I should wear it - what occasion, time of the day, season. I think maybe this is so versatile it could be worn anytime. Perhaps just spray more in the evening and less for day. Maybe I just love it too much to decide. Try it!!

Right after application, the fragrance opens with an unexpected gourmand touch, reminding me of sugar-coated roasted nuts 😳 This impression most likely comes from the combination of cane sugar with the spicy and citrusy top notes. As it develops, the gourmand nuance gradually fades, making room for the star of the composition - fig. The fig is soft, creamy, and enveloping, yet still green and fresh at the same time. In the heart, ylang-ylang adds a subtle bitterness and depth. At times, I also catch a banana-like nuance, which likely comes from the ylang-ylang as well. The sweetness is present but very pleasant and well balanced, never overwhelming. Overall, the fragrance feels soft, feminine, and easy to wear. Longevity is good, I can clearly smell it on my skin from morning until evening. Projection is rather moderate and stays close to the skin, at least for now. I plan to wear it more, as my impressions may still evolve over time.

Honestly, this is dark fig perfection! The only problem is the price tag 😭 Edit: after wearing it more often I can make a more detailed comment besides it being perfect. This is fig, but not your normal fig, it’s slightly weird, rather unusual, and very unexpected. It’s the “purple perfume” version of a fig. I don’t think this is “erotique”. Yes, it’s mysterious, dark and somewhat sensual, but in an elegant and non-obvious way. It doesn’t scream its presence, which I find it funny, because I have the prejudice that TF fragrances are loud, begging to be noticed. This is the opposite, it’s quiet and versatile, but never boring. You can wear it to work, in both cold and warm weather, day and night events. I love it, but I still wouldn’t pay 400+ for a bottle. I’ll keep playing with the decant and wait for a good opportunity to buy the full bottle in a reasonable price.

Tried this at Sephora the other day, not expecting it to wow me, as I don't think there have been many exciting TF releases lately. It was an immediate LOVE. I ended up buying a bottle on the spot. On me, it is a super creamy, sweet, wet fig. I do get some green and woods, but the creamy, sappy, sweet fig stands out and is so delicious. Like an unsettling gourmand. It has that sort of spooky, sort of weird but sexy thing that I love about old TF fragrances, and I think including "Erotique" in the name suits it well. It seems this is a very personal-chemistry-dependent scent, but I think it's outstanding

absolutely gorgeous on my skin! this perfume has kickstarted a fig obsession that other fragrances have so far not been able to scratch. the opening of FE is full of bright citrus, but quickly dries down to a jammy fig. as the ylang ylang note moves to the back, patchouli and brown sugar accompany the fig on center stage for a very, very long time. nearly three hours later, i can still smell the sweet fruit lingering. this fragrance is truly a love letter to fig; all at once, it is warm, sexy, and intimate, perfect for a cozy date night :)

I got to finally sample this today in Sephora. I have to say, this is wonderfully done. The fig leaf is green and very vegetal. It’s not that overly sweet which I really appreciate. The bottle colour suits the colour of figs perfectly. There is something about this that reminds me of something from Imaginary Author’s. It’s very nice, definitely feels more like Tom Ford’s work (as if he himself made this like his scents from back in the day). I get a little bit of creaminess from it too! Very well done! 9/10

Forget other figs, because as you might expect this is TF's take on fig. Another very distinct release. It is a Rose Prick kinda perfume, powdery sweet and futuristic but with fig instead. It was an instant buy for me after the first try at Douglas(250ml). My Figue Erotique posts can be seen on Fragram why because most of the reviews here are false, they havent even smelt the perfume, just repeating what they heard, and complaining about the prices.

On my skin this is a delicious warmly-spiced ripe fig fragrance. Not too sweet to be cloying in the heat and not too green like many fig fragrances. On my skin the floral notes stay blended into the background, and I only a detect a pinch of salt that balances out the ripe fruit. I really don't understand the hate it gets other than the price, which is exorbitant. But if you love fig notes, I think it's definitely one to sample then find on sale.

Hello my friends 💜 This is such an amazing airy freshly cut green fig that it made me obsessed with it. I can feel the air pass me by in a field of fig trees in a beautiful nature and make me breathe the fresh air. It is a magical feeling although I'm a sweet gourmand nose. The drydown is so smooth and sweet in my skin, Iike a fig that is almost ready to eat. I'm in love with it. Do not blind buy because it is a skin chemistry perfume 😉

I actually really liked this - the fig note might be the most realistic I've ever smelled and it seems to be a difficult one to nail down. I don't think the longevity is where it should be at for something this expensive, but it's definitely worth it for those who love realistic fruit scents. I'd go out on a limb to say that if you like Lost Cherry you'd probably enjoy this one. It can be unissex but I'd still say it leans feminine.

Who ever brought this down to 3.6 should be banned from this site. They're probably on their way to over to go rant and rave about rasasi hawas shit and the like. This is fantastic. Gorgeous herbal, slightly dusty, dry, realistic figs and greenery. Definitely wouldn't put sweetness at the top of the chart. It's there but in the way of a ripe fig, with woods in the base. Head to macy's / nordstrom and spray it on to see.

Fragrantica needs to ban these spam accounts that hate anything new TF comes out. Please get a life and possible therapy. This is an informative, reliable site for fragrance lovers. I expected something bad based on the reviews, but on my first try it is really good, initially with creamy fig with citruses, then became beautiful sunscreen type of smell. I love it

After a few weeks of wearing I must admit this is the best Fig perfume ever smelt. And I dont recommend more than 2 sprays, it is really very strong, nuclear mode on.

Beautiful green fig. The opening is rich, deep and complex. The earthy vetiver grounds the fig and Bergamot. I could wear this every day.

A great fragrance screwed over by corporate greed. Figue Érotique, surprisingly, ended up being a new release I liked a lot, far more than I was expecting. I like fig as a note in fragrances but I was expecting Figue Érotique to lean feminine because of the ylang-ylang and brown sugar/licorice notes, but I do think this is perfectly unisex. Quite versatile too, I think this could work well year round except for maybe the winter, but winter isn't really that cold where I live so it's no issue for me. Now the elephant in the room, the aforementioned corporate greed screwing over this release. Most Private Blend 50 ml bottles cost $300, with Parfum versions such as Neroli Portofino Parfum, Oud Wood Parfum and the new Soleil Blanc Parfum being $390 for 50 ml. These prices are already quite demented and high considering, at the end of the day, Tom Ford is designer perfumery that doesn't use expensive raw materials, and even if they did Estée Lauder produces them in such monstrous quantities that they could afford such raw materials and keep production costs in a few dollars per bottle's worth of juice, unlike many real niche and artisanal brands that are usually manned by a handful of people and to whom raw materials do signify an important production cost, hence justifying the prices of their fragrances (to a certain degree, many of them do also upcharge massively but still to a lesser degree). Figue Érotique, as well as Black Lacquer, the three Cherries, among others within the Private Blend line, cost $405 for a 50 ml bottle while also being EDPs, for absolutely no reason other than because they can charge that much for them. While I agree that performance isn't everything in a fragrance I do certainly expect to get my money's worth in terms of performance and Figue Érotique's performance is simply unacceptable for its price, even considering you might find a bottle in the gray market around the $250 mark. Projection is moderate at best whilst sillage is light and becomes quite faint tremendously quick, becoming a skin scent in around an hour. I don't think anyone would argue paying such a large amount of money for a skin scent is worth it, and I think Estée Lauder releasing fragrances this weak at such steep prices (Black Lacquer is basically the same and I own a bottle of it) is nothing short of shameless and, frankly, retarded. As much as I'd love to own a bottle of this I think it'd be a waste of money, I can think of several niche fragrances that cost the same or less, use far more naturals in their formulation and are very potent. I used to look at people who complained the same way I did with contempt, because I used to think performance wasn't everything, but frankly I don't have money to spare buying a weak fragrance for several hundreds of dollars simply because a massive conglomerate refuses to let their margins be even an inch less massive, irregardless of fragrances being "luxury" items.

At first spray I thought “Oh this is a beautiful green fig leaf melting in the ripe fruit of a fig.” The citrus just helps to round out the freshness, but doesn’t lend heavy citrus to the scent. The salt and brown sugar boost the ripe fig scent to where you think it may go into gourmand territory, but it never makes it there. The smell carried like that on me for the first hour and then it morphed into that very unisex smell of almost a man’s aftershave. Not barbosol, that nice expensive vetiver heavy aftershave that screams..... MAN. Now, was that unappealing for me, not in the slightest. It smelled really nice, however I usually do not wear masculine leaning fragrances and it tended to be really, really strong on me. Much to my chagrin, the husband moseyed on over, snatched my new bottle and put it on his sink. The plus side, it smells fantastic on him, and I still get to enjoy it. As an aside, it is not a safe blind buy, ( I bought it after one sniff at Sephora, wear it for a few hours before you decide to purchase it.) I’m not sure it would be office safe, unless you are judicious in your application. Also this is a spring scent. It won’t work well in summer heat and I don’t see it working well in cold weather either.

What surprised me the most about this is how strong the green accord is. The fig leaf is pretty upfront and definitely much more floral than expected. The fig fruit is definitely there it's not that much stronger than the leaf. As it dries down the florals come up. It does develop a creaminess to it. The ylang definitely does it's thing . I think this fragrance was not what a lot of people expected. This fragrance totally leans feminine. Along with the fruit and green it has that thick slight powdery floral smell that I find in a lot of women's fragrances . It's not overpowering but it's there . It's strong but delicate like a lot of TF fragrances. I think that you can totally smell the quality in the ingredients. Performance is pretty good. 2 skin sprays lasted a few hours and had sillage of a few feet away. This is one that you need to be careful with the amount of sprays . 5 sprays is more than enough. Do I like it, yeah. But I don't love it. I like a lot about it , I do think it's different but it's a bit too feminine. I give it a solid 6/10

It’s cute it’s cute!, but nothing to really write home about. The fig does smell really nice but overall it is lighter on me. Leaning more into the green side than the fruity side which is a bit of a disappointment. It is getting sweeter and fruitier over time but still reads more vegetal on me. Like sweet greens with a nice fruity fig nuance and subtle spice. Pleasant enough but I’m not compelled to buy a bottle. I may have to test this further to determine my final thoughts.. good! But not groundbreaking. And when I say good like it really is good. It simply smells enjoyable and pleasant. Just not 100% the scent profile I typically gravitate towards. Howeverrr theres no denying it’s beautifully blended so if u are into this type of vibe u may be in luck! The deep dry down does give a whisper of Angel Eau Croisière (the fig one) which I do find intriguing.. and the longevity is decent.. I just don’t really think it’s for me. I’ll update if I get a chance to try it again <3

I got mine today! Initial spray, it’s not green crunchy fig like a lot of others. It is definitely fig flesh with a veil of yellow floral over. Will report back once I experience the dry down. So far more exciting that anything TF has released in recent history! Update: I feel like the dry down scent profile feels so familiar, almost like the TF orchid range, but can’t quite put my finger on it. It is pretty sweet throughout, though gets sweeter towards the end, but it’s not heavy - I think the fig makes it feel more juicy and airy! Sort of like Byredo Pulp, juicy, but great for summer (not the same smell at all though). This to me is more “feminine” leaning and I wouldn’t say it is not going to be mass appealing. I am excited to wear this through Australian summer - 30 degrees or less though, otherwise it would be too much!

The sweet yet green fig in the opening is really delicious and appealing. As the fresh fruity fig note dissipates I get a sweet nuttiness that is reminiscent of sesame, I don't dislike this but I wish the figginess lasted longer. I am intrigued, this definitely requires further testing! However, don’t be seduced by the name; if anything this is a milky, innocent fig with botanical touches - nothing ‘erotique’ about it. This is a shame, in my experience fig scents usually come off quite fresh so I was looking forward to the prospect of a sexed up Tom Ford take on fig. No such luck, but still it’s nice!

Tested this in Sephora on skin and with a paper. This is one for skin. It opens up very sweet with a green fig scent. After about 10-15 is starts to smell like potpourri or a fancy hair salon, where there is lots of hair spray in the air. After about 20 minutes it settles down to a sweet, kind of generic, strong green vetiver scent. It’s freshie and tropical in a way from the salt. It doesn’t ever get too sweet, as I smell the spice of patchouli in the deep dry down. I can see it smelling nicely on a man depending on their body chemistry. This leans very masculine IMO and doesn’t last very long.

This is very nice. It opens fresh and green, with a fig leaf accord that feels airy rather than very sweet. The heart is very green and slightly fruity, then gets into a soft, soapy cleanliness. In the dry down, it turns into a more understated kind of summer elegance... so effortless. The base is sweet woody and smooth, without becoming heavy. This fragrance is very versatile overall: suitable for both day and night in warm weather, and easy to imagine on any gender or age group. Refined, fresh, elegant!

Idk why but if i see anything with the word erotic my horny ass gona smell it. Im a big fan of unique scents and this perfume itched that scratch in my brain. Immediately the spicy notes stood out to me. It wasn’t overwhelming spice it was well balanced with the other notes. If i were to wear this i feel like i would need to be dressed in the finest purple dyed clothes and fed grapes while my gold bangles and other excessive jewelry clink around while i move. Need to go back and smell this again

great perfume its a fig sightly herby gourmand fragrance on my skin it smells like a bucket of figs half pealed,half unpetalled {where they have that herby smell} with a thick drizzle of sugary syrup on top its actually pretty good release but the bottle sizes in the UK are weird so they sell a 50ml and 250ml but not a 100ml? longevity its pretty decent as well,i though its gonna be more feminine but it perfectly unisex in my opinion

This is actually really pleasant despite being marketed as an erotic fragrance. I do wish the fig were greener and more natural, though. I don't think the fig accord needed any ethyl maltol, because it adds a sweetness that feels a bit unnecessary and takes away from the fresh, juicy, woody character I was hoping for. But I actually don't mind it too much and I would still happily wear this. It’s just not completely worth the price.

Hmm! I recently bought another TF fragrance and they gave me a ton of these samples...its kinda like you take the Lolita out of Lolita Lempicka's homonym fragrance. It is refined and sophisticated of course, but to see it's lacking an element of wilderness that most Tom Ford fragrances have.

What a beast! 10 hrs later, it's just as strong as when I sprayed it. That said, this is *not* a summer scent. It's way too heavy in the mid-80s heat of March in Texas. I can't imagine how stifling it would be in summer when it's 20 degrees hotter.

a lot of these ylang ylang based greeny women phenotype smells are quite smiliar. this smells like carnal flower to me, but saltier. like salty smells but i would nøt wear θem

Sprayed this yesterday. Wonderful on the card, very nice one the skin at the opening and mid. But then dries down into literally nothing after about 3 hours. I enjoyed it. I didn’t get erotic vibes at all, just a well executed fig fragrance that feels gourmand and less dry and green than dyptyque’s, and less fruity and true than AdP’s riserva or the blu Fico...it’s nice. But the price point is ridiculous for something that sits between these two excellent fig fragrances but doesn’t bring anything particularly new, much less wow! to the table. It’s cold here in Europe as I write this, so I will revisit this in the summer on a hot day, but I suspect that the gourmand, burnt sugary notes, and that soft, almost floral dry down will make this too sticky/sweet in the heat. Sum up: It’s well crafted. It smells good but not wow! Or ‘I have to have this’ and at 355 euro at a Tom Ford counter, or even with 70eur shaved off at some online stores, I just can’t and won’t push the button.

I sprayed this in Sephora with no knowledge of what it was. Must say , it’s essentially an upscale version of Toy Boy by Moschino. I must not know what fig smells like to know what I’m smelling, but to me this fragrance screams PLANT WATER!! Like if if you blended a cactus up in water, then it evaporated into the clouds, then that batch of water rained = what this smells like. Maybe I’ll try it again the next time I’m shopping. But I’ve smelled enough designer and niche fragrances to understand this one. I know Tom Ford fragrances excel in their dry downs, hours after initial spray, but I was so quick to wash this one off In the mall bathroom that I never make it that far.

Update: didn't blind buy after all. Made it to Sephora and sprayed some on skin. Loved the opening, but the dry-down left me underwhelmed. The patchouli comes in strong, while the fig is stuck in the background trying to fight its way out. This will probably be a blind buy for me. I’m genuinely that excited about it, and I rarely feel this way about Tom Ford releases. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Tried this on in store, and it was nice, but the price point is crazy for what it is. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself I don't like it bc of how expensive it is, but there's something off-putting about the dry down. Might be the licorice note that I'm picking up on and don't like.

The opening is a beautiful classic green fig opening. I loved it. The dry down tho... it smells exactly like a 5$ perfume i brought with me on vacation as a child. Very very underwhelming dry down after the pretty opening. Opening: 8/10 Dry down: 3/10

I mean it’s a lovely smell, but for the price point. Also it has no depth, and has extremely bad longevity. There are so much more cheaper and better fig perfumes. Also the name is misleading, it’s not erotic in any way. It’s more cute and soft.

Green, salty, floral fig. It's a little too sharp-smelling for my taste. It smells like it contains one of those nuclear aroma chemicals. For $400/50 ml there are MANY other fragrances I'd purchase first.

So, I bought this from Sephora a couple days ago. I had one full day of wear and today I tried layering it. Here is my honest review. On initial spray, I enjoyed the brightness, zestiness. I sprayed my arms and my cashmere sweater. A couple hours later, the brightness kept getting stronger both on my skin and especially on my clothes. I barely smelled the "sweet" sugary neuances. A few hours later, it kept becoming screechier and schreechier and almost like a cheap Fig candle or kitchen cleaning supply. I honestly couldn't wait to get home to scrub it off my body and take off my sweater. It also induced a low grade headache throughout the day. Today, I layered it with Xerjoff's creamy White on White. I must say, there's a huge improvement. But, I wanted the Figue to smell like this without assistance. It's nice with the combo, but nothing special. This will have to be a return, unfortunately. I'm really bummed because I wanted it to work.

Figue Érotique leans heavily into a dark, masculine territory. While the name implies a fruit-forward experience, the actual profile is thick, smoky and clings to the skin for hours. The performance is undeniable—this is a long-lasting fragrance with significant projection—but it lacks any transparency. The composition is abstract; none of the individual notes are identifiable or distinct. If I were to blind test this, I would never guess this is a fig fragrance. The characteristic green, milky, or jammy qualities of the fruit are completely absent, replaced by a dense, charred blend. It is a bold, moody scent I find intriguing, but wouldn't wear personally. It should wear better on a man.
